36 Latest album shows that leaving RR records was the right choice. Their latest album recaptures the EDGE that they live on. This album has all of the grit with the maturity of their talents. If you loved Bitterness the Star you will love this album!

Having not been at all impressed with Rest Inside The Flames, I wasn't first in line to pick up The Tide. Granted, A Snow Capped Romance (2004) was right up there with UnderOath's They're Only Chasing Safety as my favorite 04' screamo release, but RITF took a turn I didn't at all care for.

The Tide is easily 36CF's most "punk" release to date. That's not to say it sounds anything like your favorite punk band, because it doesn't. But the urgent pace of the music give off punk vibes. As per usual, the high end screaming is nicely in tact, and blends well with sung vocals. Where as ASCR was like emocore blended with staind/cold type rock, The Tide is actually closer to the authentic emocore/hardcore sound. Also, not many misses here. The only track I skipped on was November, which dragged a bit. Other than that, solid.

There seems to be a misconceptiong surrounding 36CF that they're heavy metal. Maybe it's because of the label (Roadrunner) or some of the bands that they tour with, but in all honesty, this band fits in much more nicely with Thrice or Silverstein (emocore in general) than it does with Heavy Metal. I'm not a metal guy, although I like some core music with metal influences. Anyway, if you were a fan of ASCR but slept on this band when RITF came out, check out The Tide.

36CF releases another top notch album. This one is their best work since their first album. It is great listening from the first song to the last.

This is not my favorite 36 album, but very decent. The sound quality is amazing, and a little different from previous albums. There are some very good tracks on here, none really stand out more than the others though. It's a pretty uniformed sound on this album, which is what kept it from getting 5 stars. Worth the price though.

This CD is amazing! 36cf best work to date. The sound, the feel, the lyrics is all there. And their live show... Absolutely breath-taking!

Why do people hate metalcore i don't get it it's heavy,brutal,death metal influences,and it's more heavy than some other metal genre's out there.And you might call it hardcore but i call it metal if you want hardcore listen to those boring metal wannabe's hatebreed,terror,bury your dead,and other bands like those.And as for 36 crazyfists they are between metalcore,post hardcore,and alternative metal.But on this album it sounds more like post hardcore than metalcore the screams are the reason for rating this album close to four stars along with the drumming so check it out.I don't think i like this album and rest inside the flames more than their first album cause bitterness the star was really heavy more screaming than singing although brock has a unique singing style.Well only get this if you are a fan of the band but if you want something heavy get their first album it is catorize as nu-metal but it sounds nothing like it only HEAVY metal.And the tide and the takers is also a better album than rest inside the flame or a snow capped romance but in the first three albums the screams are more louder and better cause his screams now are mix with growling.Did i mention that in the first album brock gives awesome growls in some songs kinda death growls too.

This is one of the best metal cds to come out in this century. I think a lot of people term them as screamo, but I think of them as a great band making heavy music in a new and exciting way. Everything about this cd is breathtaking. The vocals, the riffs, drumming, and bass, everything. And the production is excellent too. It all sounds so crisp coming out of my stereo. If you are open to many kinds of heavy music, then you should not miss these guys. "At the End of August" is worth the price of admission by itself.

This really isn't what you would consider a metal album, more of a post-hardcore album. Don't worry though, this isn't the fashion-laden plague that has been marketed well. Think more like Haste, Snapcase, Poison The Well, and Skycamefalling.

Okay, now to the album. This has some catchy melodies, but the vocals can be quite annoying at times. Overall, if you want something catchy and fun, I'd recommend this. Note that it's not something that's complex and saturated with talent.

We need another one of these dillhole bands like we need another hole in our heads. Enough is enough already! Agayu, As I Lay Crying, Kills**t Engayge and now these guys? Ugh! Jesus Christ, just one look at the name and album cover says it all. See this is where you SHOULD judge a book by its cover (I've always disliked that saying). The riffs are boring and the singer is wimpy, definitely not a good one by any means. Oh and I love how our spotlight reviewer claims the lyrics are "inspiring". So you want some examples of these lyrics that are SO inspiring? Just check out the second song's LyKe TotuLLY AwEsUm lyrix!!!

Seriously, how friggin cheesy can you get? Honestly! The only thing this inspires me to do is bash the members of the band with a rusty soldering iron. Call me a chauvinistic pig but hey I not into the emo thing ok? It's just embarrassing to us men ya know? Oh the music isn't that great either. If it was, however, then I might look past these inherent flaws. And to the fans, imagine listening to this from MY point of view and you'll understand why I hate things like this. You couldn't even pay me to say I like this band even if it was a joke, the utter humiliation that would result from that doesn't have a price. Completely disposable cd. Listen to real metal that my fellow reviews below me recommended.

Im giving this 4 stars cause the screams are so good especially in the song i'll go until my heart stops beating,is the best song for me in this one great brutal song.For the rest of the songs well yeah they're okay is just that i think there's too much clean singing im not into it much with these guys only some songs but it still great.So check this out it's great.Howard from killswitch engage sings in a song not a fan of him but it's a cool song get their new album too the screams are a bit different in that one.

My brother got me hooked on 36 crazyfists with their last album "Snow Capped Romance" I beleive that was just such an amazing cd still one of my favorites.... I beleive this cd is close to possibly even being better! This cd has the sound of their last cd as well as a heavier sound! These guys are one of the best metal band by far and its good to see a band that can make good cds without changing their sound. aka Trivium.. But definitely look into rest inside the flames you won't be disspointed

I bought "Rest Inside The Flames" this last weekend, and to be honest I had huge expectations for this album. "A Snow Capped Romance" is simply amazing, and that would be a hard effort to match but, 36 Crazyfists surpass expectations. Brock's voice has certainly matured a great deal and sounds great. This album is definitely their best thus far, and one of the best releases of 2006 if not the best.

1. I'll Go Until My Heart Stops - The first single off the album, this song is a decent song but is the weakest point on the album.***1/2/5

2. Felt Through A Phone Line - Great song, awesome lyrics and really nice drum work. *****/5

3. On Any Given Night - Definitely sounds like a song that could have easily been on "A Snow Capped Romance" great song. *****/5

4. Elysium - Features Howard Jones of Killswitch Engage and is definitely an awesome metal song. I usually don't care for collaborations of vocalists but Howard and Brock's sound flows so well together. One of my favorites on the album. Great Guitar work. *****/5

5. The Great Decent - This song goes from soft to heavy quickly and in 36 CF fashion. Good song. ****/5

6. Midnight Swim - Another favorite off of the album, I love the lyrics. Awesome vocal work, Brock showcases that his vocals have matured a great deal since "Bitterness The Star". *****/5

7. Aurora - Sounds like something Killswitch Engage may have collaborated on (musically anyhow). Another great song, the guitar riffs will be stuck in your head for days. *****/5

8. Will Pull This In By Hand - Closest 36 CF gets to sounding like "Bitterness The Star". Again, great drum work here. *****/5

9. We Cannot Deny - Another great song, with great vocal work. *****/5

10. Between The Anchor And The Air - Another favorite. I love the guitar work on this song. *****/5

11. The City Ignites - A 36 CF acoustic song?? That's right..and it is awesome! Lyrics are the same as Midnight but that doesn't take away anything from this song another favorite. *****/5

Basically, records don't get much better than this. The trend for these guys seems to be to outdo the previous effort, which is proof here. I will be looking forward to the next release but I'm not sure if this album will be leaving my cd player by that time.

This album has placed 36 with the coveted title of "My favorite band that still puts out CDs," with Pantera being "My favorite band that no longer puts out CDs." It was neck and neck with KSE but with KSE's not so great release and 36's 3rd major release that rocks without question there is no longer any doubt. Let the news ring out from the mountaintops and woodland forests, this album, nay this band is the best thing currently producing new music. If you buy this album you will not regret it, unless you suck.

These guys never upset me. And on a quick note. They say there is an extra track - Track 12. There is no such thing, it only goes to 11. So people thinkin you were gonna get an extra track with the US release sorry but your outta luck. This album is great, there sound gets much better and better. I kinda wanna say they have a lil diff sound to them but then I don't. But the guitars and drums are amazing on this cd, vocals are outstanding. If you have been a long time 36 fan then this is a must get. If you wanna maybe get into 36 I say check out there past releases before you get to this new one.

Well first of all this band is NOT nu metal to start off with even though this album is consider to be nu metal and doesn't even sound like it.This band is post hardcore,metalcore,and some alternative metal but not NU metal so if you want something heavy get this.Brock really does have a unique singing way and his screams here are just brutal which in their next album,is more screamo screams and some here.This album is a mix between metalcore,post hardcore,alternative metal,and even some death metal cause of the brutal growls he gives especially in the second song i guess.I might like this more than their other releases cause instead of just post hardcore in a snow capped romance,this album is pretty heavy and worth checking out and also get their newest record the screams are different in that one he does them mix with growling.GREAT HEAVY RECORD!

This cd was a breath of fresh air for me when so many bands were releasing mediocre, soundalike cds. There are some great examples of what 36 Crazyfists is all about, but to me, it seems they were trying to find themselves a bit on this cd. From here to their next cd, they matured tons. I think they learned from their mistakes on this one and since then have hit two straight out of the park. Still, this is a strong debut, but some of the songs are lacking the special care and touch put on their newer songs.

Come on....seriously...this cd rocks the f$$$ing house! Turn the speakers up to 15, turn the lights off, and get ready for a ear pounding master piece. The drumming on this cd is worth the price alone! Excellent production makes for an awesome listening experience! This is by far their best cd, and by far one of the best metal cd's of all time!

This has to be my favorite album. 36 Crazyfists create a real unique "in-your-face" style of music on this album which just captures you and beats you to death. What I love most about the style of the music on this album is that it manages to be very intense and heavy, yet emotional. I really feel this album and I think it's the most powerful album I've heard.

Steve Holt, the guitarist and a big influence on me, is extemely clever on this album with various double tracks and sounds (listen to Two Months from a Year or Chalk White). His riffs are perfect for Brock's powerful and emotional voice. His lyrics are also very deep, which makes the music feel very powerful and taking.

My only disappointment is the lack of bass. Mick, the bassist, shines in "Turns to Ashes," but that's pretty much it. For the most part, he just follows along with Steve Holt.

I highly recommend this album to anyone looking for an intense and powerful listen.

What a listen, ok this is not your usual going through the motions emo band this band has manged to fuse some of the more pseudo death metal traits with the emo sound, so accesible though brutal. Also there are hooks this is not just one big roar that some music of the screamo genre tends to end up being, the guitars are relentless but dynamic meaning that they use chord progression and crazy time signatures to mix it up and make this interesting not as inventive as system. It's sing-a-longable obviously the stand out song is slit wrist theory that if not for the expletive laden chorus would not be out of place on main stream radio well at least if I ran the station. Yes theres screaming but theres also singing. The last song is actually bordering on beautiful something most heavy bands cannot pull off. The lead singer has a distictive whine that makes his vocal seem very touching and almost affectionate one minute then "I am going to rip your throat" the next minute, see "An Agreement Called Forever". So who should buy this, Used fans that want something with a edge, Bleeding through fans who want more tune, Slipknot fans who have grown up, My Chemical Romance fans who have relised that theres more to life than My Chemical Romance. Basically anyone who like hard rock

It is very difficult to follow up a masterpiece, but this is a very solid cd with plenty of great moments and some killer riffs, vocals, and hooks. This is still a stronger album than Bitterness the Star, their debut. I really enjoyed it and hope they continue making great tunes.

36CF latest outing is what would happen if Fist of the Star and Snowcapped Romance had a love child. The vocals are more fitting for Snowcapped Romance, while the music is more in tune to Fist of the Star.
Overall the album is solid and won't be a dissapointment, my absolute favorite moment by far has to be the excellent acoustic AS THE CITY IGNITES.

Don't get me wrong, there are still signs of the old 36CF on this CD with songs like "The Great Descent", but then there are songs like "Will Pull this in by Hand" that make me want to put something sharp in my ear. It's very clear that they are attempting to draw a bigger audience by mainstreaming.. many of these songs are dangerously close to "post-hardcore" which IMO is a terrible, terrible genre of music for the most part. Their older efforts combined many styles into a unique sound that was unlike any band I'd ever heard, but this CD is much more cookie-cutter generic than the first two. Like I said earlier, it does have some good songs, but it has just about as many bad ones with a few right smack in the middle.. regardless, if you are a 36CF fan, you'll want to pick it up.

36 Crazy Fists is an awesome band. The first cd I heard of theirs was Bitterness the Star. They were good in that cd, but after hearing A Snow Capped Romance, I was blown away with how much better they've gotten. The singing is definately better in this, heavier than the first, drums, guitar, and bass are also better. It's worth every dollar. This is by far the best album i've heard in 2004. These guys really stepped it up since their debut album. On a similar level of comparison as when hearing Chimaira's 'Impossibility..." album for the first time. It will be hard for any band this year to put out an album that can compete with this one. Best tracks IMO are: The Heart and the Shape, Destroy the Map, Cure Eclipse, and Installing the Catheter. Go buy this now this is seriously some amazing music.

1st of all, this is their best CD. I constantly get sick of songs cus i play them too much. But for this cd, i can't stop listening to it. 2 of my favorite songs on this album would have to be "Installing the Catheter" & "CuRe EcLipSe". Seriously, this album is on top of my list !!!!!!!!!!!!

Now if anyone enjoyed Bitterness the Star, then you will absolutely love A Snow Capped Romance. From beginning to end, there is really no dull moment....each song has its own unique feeling to it, some may sound similar but its the little differences in those similarites that keep it all fresh instead of sounding like one giant song....(i.e. Linkin Park's Meteora) And this album is plenty heavier than the previous release, not to mention Brock Lindow's vocals sound more mature, clear and crisp but his signature sound is still there. Overall, this album is better in quality, and its easy to tell the band has matured since Bitterness the Star. One complaint, this CD clocks in at right under 40 minutes but boy is it 40 minutes of nothing but rock, melodies and pure headbanging bliss.

36CF come back with a vengeance. If you liked their first CD you will most likely appreciate this album alot more. They seem to be more focused on this release. The overall production and sound is cleaner and tighter. There are many stand out songs on this but my personal favorite is Bloodwork. Even though 36CF is a great band they will probably never get the commercial success they deserve because their sound is a little too heavy for the mainstream. If you never heard anything from this band I reccommend you buy "A Snow Capped Romance" first because it is just flat out better than "Bitterness The Star". Don't get me wrong Bitterness the star is very good, it's just not on this level.
