I received this cd as a birthday present on January 1, 2009 and I wish I had gotten it before Christmas! It is the perfect Christmas cd but it is also much more than that. I could see myself enjoying this all year round. My favorite song is My! My! Time Flies. A great song!

Nice to have this unexpected CD since Enya's releases have been 5 years apart from 1995 on.

Flawless artwork, splendid performance, excellent recording, superb sound. Silent Night choral version is most impressive. Other tracks could be labeled as 'flat' were it not for her voice.

Guess she could have given her personal touch to more traditional Christmas stuff as others have done.

Being of the Jewish faith, I was a little hesitant to buy this album, knowing it was suppose to be an Christmas inspired album. However, also being an avid Enya fan, I decided to buy this album and listen to it with an open mind. And I am so glad I did. Not only did this album not sound like a commercialized Christmas album, it reminded me of the music Enya had done on her first four or five albums. Even though there are some references to Christmas, they are few and far between. No Enya fan will be disappointed in this album. The melodies are very well layered, very lush and simply heavenly to listen to. As one of the previous posters said, only one song caught me by surprise and that was "My, My Time Flies!", but it surprised me in a very good way. I love every song on this album, but my favorites are "Trains and Winter Rains", "Dreams are more Precisous", "Last Time by Moonlight", "One Toy Soldier" and of course "My, My, Time Flies!". Overall, this is a great album for any time of the year.

I love this album. It has the typical Enya stuff that I both expect and love. Some of my favorite tracks though are the more upbeat numbers. I am especially fond of the song about the toy soldier. It is very sweet and and again has a catchy beat.

I truly enjoyed this cd! I was curious about the group after hearing their version of "The 12 Days of Christmas" on the radio. After I sampled the cd's songs I just had to buy it! I now wish they made more cd's with either more holiday music or some of todays hits. If you enjoy groups like Rockapella or Take 6 you'll love Straight No Chaser!

One of the great 2008 musical stories is the resurrection tale involving a bunch of college dudes of yore (well, actually, not that many years ago) who reunited their Indiana University combo long enough to grab the attention of a record executive who offered them a multi-album deal that, fortunately, began with this Christmas sendoff.

Simply put, SNC is sensational *a cappella music* which the boys clearly have fun making.

When they go in the sacred direction, they are phenomenal: 'Hark the Heard Angels Sing' neither harked nor heralded quite like this before. And they sing 'Indiana Christmas' as though being Hoosier were sacred enough for anybody who matters.

'Carol of the Bells' is worth the cost of the CD.

SNC wins this reviewer over by sheer unabashed energy and purity of their music. Men singing in the splendid aural nudity that is *a cappella* remains a compelling sound. These men from IU belt it out with singular panache.

I think if I were going to give the individual tracks a star-rating, then these would get five stars:

5 out of 14 tracks are simply EXCELLENT. The rest are great. This is a great Christmas album -- I never would have found it if I had not read "God Rest Ye, Grumpy Scroogeymen" by Laura and Michael Walker. If you have a Christmas music lover on your gift list, this would be a winner. A capella men's voices. Enjoy!

After hearing this CD, I ordered it to give as an early Christmas present to a couple friends. They then wanted to order it for friends of theirs and it was hard to find in stock! Once found, a third layer of friends wanted to give it as a gift also. It was my best received and reviewed gift given this year! Thanks, SNC, for a great CD!

I purchased this after watching the original 12 Days of Christmas video on Youtube. This has rapidly become our family's favorite Christmas CD and has been played constantly since it has arrived. Best money I have spent all season.

I am eager for another album from them. I can't stop watching "Worlds Apart" on Youtube. Dan Ponce's voice with Jerome Collins as harmony is hauntingly beautiful. Lets hope that makes it on the next album and they have a long career. I know I will buy anything they produce.

I am not a country music person. The TV makes a big deal out of Taylor Swift and I really like Love Story. So, I buy the CD to give it a try. After listening the CD couple times, I still don't like country music. Love Story is still very good. And she still ain't Hannah Montana. So, I don't know. Maybe the songs are just not loud enough for me. or maybe the country music is how it is. But Love Story is still a 5-star music. The rest of the songs are just ok I guess.

Forgot to mention that the package was very nice. It came with a colorful booklet with beautiful pictures and a small poster. 5 stars for the packaging.

This is true country music! Almost as good as Carrie Underwood. Leave it to Taylor Swift to make a classic album. Who needed that "Folsom Prison" Johnny Cash junk? We have the true country legend right here! GO TAYLOR!

Taylor Swift has a voice one can listen to over and over (and I have). Outstanding Album! She started out as a Really Great Singer with a silky, smooth voice who can turn gutsy on a single note; her music and lyrics (credits to her co-writers, too) have matured in a very short time. It's refreshing to hear an album with no "in-your-face" (blatanly offensive words, or explicit obscene connotations) junk thrown in just for fun or in the name of "creative license." Taylor Swift takes simple life situations and makes something more lifelike out of them, as her songs range from Country to Pop Country to Balad. Kudos to surrounding herself with very talented musicians who blend well and complement her stage presence. She also shows you do not have to be on American Idol to be an American Idol. And did I mention the voice? Give her "a listen."

Not much into country but this one touched me.I heard Love Story and thats all it took.White Horse is great sad but you feel her emotion.So glad i bought this cd.

Well, when i ordered this CD I did expect it to be good since i knew the songs, but it was even better!! The poster that followed with it was really cool :D It's totally worth the money!

After reading some of other people's reviews I thought I should write one myself... If you've read the books but haven't seen the movie, I don't think you should buy this soundtrack. I've read the books (and while I enjoyed them, I have issues with Bella's strength as a character) but I loved the movie (specifically the strength that Kristen Stewart brought to Bella) and therefore loved the soundtrack because I remember how the songs were matched up with the movie.

Tracks 5-7 are a little iffy for me, I usually skip them, but I thought all the other tracks were great. I found it surprising how much I liked all of these bands that I've never heard of. I couldn't get enough of the Muse and Paramore.

Also: a lot of people complain about Robert Pattinson's song, which is understandable--he does mumble a lot. But he's also mentioned that he gets some inspiration from Van Morrison. If you compare VM's and RP's versions of "I'll be your man" I think it'd help people see where he's coming from. So, considering who inspires him musically, I think Pattinson is a great musician and he shows a really different side of him (much more serious and intimate) than he does in his interviews--when he's really just joking around all the time.

I would agree with the other reviewers that Bella's lullaby could have been a lot better suited for what people thought her lullaby should be like. I thought it would be more haunting--the book even specifically mentioned (or maybe it was in "Midnight Sun?") that the lullaby was sweet, but ended sadly, and the soundtrack's lullaby doesn't quite fit the bill. Still, it's not a bad song.

Lastly, is it just me or is it weird that Meyer gets her inspiration from the Muse?? Personally, I never would have matched the Muse/Linkin Park with Twilight to begin with, so it's surprising to me that Meyer talks about this so much.

It took a few times through, but I do love this CD. I'm not a kid (48), but I love "Super Massive Black Hole," by Muse, "Full Moon" by The Black Ghosts and "Tremble" by Collective Soul. The whole CD is great, even for an adult mom!

First, my review for the compilation itself, seperate from my movie-related opinion. This is where my 4 given stars are from. A lot of the songs on this album are fabulous. My instant favorites were from Iron & Wine and Rob Pattinson. Flat-out perfect, and even if I couldn't purchase the MP3s seperately, those two alone are worth the price of the entire album. I really liked most of the other songs from the start, and I am growing love them. Supermissive Black Hole was already a song I liked, but it's getting *much* more play now. I still don't like Go All the Way, but then, I'm not a huge Perry Farrell fan. I'm also not a huge Linkin Park fan, but I do like the song chosen for the album. Tremble for My Beloved is okay, but it definitely doesn't speak to me like some of the others. Love Eyes On Fire. Cool song that I wouldn't have found otherwise.

Now, for my opinion on how the music relates to the movie. I must admit, I was severely disappointed with all but Never Think and Flightess Bird when I heard the sample tracks. Mainly because in my mind, after reading the series I had an entirely different soundtrack chosen in my head. If I were in charge, I'd have hired Hans Zimmer. Edward and Bella are an epic love story, and I don't think a lot of what's here, or even what's in the movie that didn't make the album, is right for the story. And that's coming from someone who really does like the majority of the tracks. Great for a CW show, but I think some of the songs lack the depth thatI was hoping to find. In the movie there were too many guitar riffs that plyed during peak drama moments... I would have rather heard more moving orchestra or piano pieces. More of songs like Bella's Lullaby here on the soundtrack.

Speaking of which, I'd actually been hoping for something a little different for that song. Since Edward penned the song in the book, I was hoping for something entirely piano, and perhaps more melodic.

Anyway, I do like the album. Since I reconciled with myself that just because many of tracks aren't the ones I would have chosen and liked the songs for what they are, I have enjoyed listening to it immensely. Also, knowing that Stephenie Meyer listened to Muse and others while she wrote, and that they helped inspire her writing (something I only recently discovered), has helped me enjoy the songs as part of the Twilight soundtrack.

I got a little excited to see an album released by David Foster. It's been awhile since this singer, songwriter, and producer has released an album. The last one I got is Rechordings and it is truly a rarity. This collection is truly for those who enjoyed his music and composition mostly back in the 80s and up to now.
The DVD concert was simply great to watch. To see an array of artists sing the songs he composed and produced was just a 'wow' moment. David Foster, a true hit maker, a true hit man.

Despite the description on the product as a 2-CD set, it is in fact a DVD with a CD included. The DVD is really great with many talented singers and the best of all is Josh Groban who comes on at the end of the show. Well worth the cost and I highly recommend it.

Wowww ... Can't get better than this . All the great songs and artist in one disc . Guy is very talented and a great producer . Now if we can only get it in Bluray ... then I would have given it all 5 ST*RS . The title says it all (Hit Man) . Guy's awesome !

What a deal. The CD was spectacular and the DVD even better. Two hours of pure entertainment. If you are over 30 this is a must buy for your collection. Pure talent and a legend such as David Foster deserve;s this tribute. Only Vegas could put on a show like this. The DVD was shot beautifully and made me fell like I was in the front row!!! BRAVO!!!

I first heard about the Priests last summer; CNN dubbed them "New Clergymen on the Block." Father Eugene O'Hagan, Father Martin O'Hagan (the two are brothers) and their childhood friend Father David Delargy are priests in the parishes of Ballyclare and Ballygowan, Cushendun, and Hannahstown in Northern Ireland. All three studied at the Irish College in Rome, and sang for Pope John Paul II as they studied for the priesthood. They were recently signed by SonyBMG in a much-publicized deal valued at one million pounds; their contract also has unique stipulations such that their respective parish duties take precedence over promotional events, or that they may opt out of any performance or commercial activity which conflicts with their religious beliefs.

Despite the proliferation of classical crossover groups and soloists, the Priests are unique. "Their brand isn't something that's been invented; it's been around for 2,000 years," says Samantha Wright, the group's manager. A portion of the proceeds go to charity. Both the concept, talented singers who also happen to be ordained priests, and the fact that the proceeds go to charity, is a refreshing change in this age of contrived commercially-oriented classical crossover acts such as Il Divo and Amici Forever.

The fourteen songs include sacred Latin hymns such as Ave Maria, Panis Angelicus, Ecce Sacerdos Magnus, and Domine Fili Unigente (from Vivaldi's Gloria) and Haydn's Mit Würd und Hoheit Angetan, in addition to more modern tracks such as Andrew Lloyd Webber's haunting Pie Jesu (originally sung by Sarah Brightman) and Benedictus. There are two Spanish tracks and several Irish compositions, including Ag Criost An Siol and a musical setting of the familiar Irish Blessing ("May the road rise to meet you..."). Although the album is not Christmas-themed, there is a beautiful, uptempo version of "O Holy Night" in which the harmony of the three priests is woven together most magically over the shimmer of horns.

The production values are simple and understated, allowing the beauty of the songs (and of the priests' divinely gifted voices) to shine through. The beauty of the singing has nothing to do with studio wizardry or posturing; there are no glaring synthesizers or technical sleight of hand as is omnipresent in classical crossover albums these days. The music is simply a vehicle for prayer, backed sublimely by the Choir of Philharmonic Academy of Rome and recorded in St. Peter's Basilica. The Priests themselves said it best: "When we sing, we don't simply sing. We pray."

The Priests is a work that can be appreciated on many levels whether you choose to enjoy it simply as soothing background music or as a deeper tool to aid in reflection and prayer, and its various elements come together flawlessly, from the three mesmerizing voices of Fathers Eugene, Martin, and David, to the timeless hymns and songs selected, to the traditional philharmonic arrangements and backing choir. This is a gift that will certainly be cherished by those who love sacred music (Catholics will feel right at home with several of the more traditional hymns like Ave Maria and Panis Angelicus), Irish music (there are hints of tin whistle and a touch of Irish Gaelic on Ag Criost An Siol and Irish Blessing) and by anyone who appreciates musical beauty.

I gave a copy of the priests to my pastor and assistant pastor. They were thrilled with it. Also the deacon liked their music too. They really do sing well. I hope they will continue to praise God in their singing. As priests from different parishes it may be a little hard for them as they have many other duties. This cd was written in our catholic paper and got a good review from EWTN. Myself I have played it many times since I have received it. It's about time something like this has hit the music market.

In a world gone barking with sensationalism, here is one album that is simply sensational! Vocal verity, pitch perfect, these three Irish priests bring a straightforward and faithful rendition to the classics with a quality that is free from ego and pure in its desire to serve the song as an offering to God.

I recently saw a PBS special with The Priests singing several of these songs. It was both a musical and prayer experience not to be missed. I immediately got online on Amazon to see if I could purchase their album, and was glad to find that I could. And I purchased a second CD as a gift for a friend. This is a wonderful prayerful experience, with many of selections being well loved classics. I am looking forward to seeing what else they produce. This album is well worth the purchase price. And I would love to see them produce a music video.

iam not normally a fan of this type of music but hearing this i felt a sense of hope and peace perfect timing for the Holiday season i hope everybody enjoys this cd as much as i did.

I purchased this album several weeks before Christmas and listened to it weekly until the New Year. He has a beautiful voice. The album consists of traditional Christmas music and new music as well.

This is the first Josh Brogan music I have purchased and it certainly won't be the last...what a voice! Love it.

This cd is stunning from beginning to end. Josh's voice is magnificent and the arrangements are unique and different!!! It's so good, you find yourself listening to it even during the year, not just Christmas time. I loved the dvd extras.

This was a gift for my husband. He loves Josh Groban and wanted some new Christmas music. He was not disappointed in this CD!

This is the only Christmas CD you'll need. I have one at work, in my car, and at home. It's amazing. The duets with Faith Hill and Brian McKnight will give you goosebumps. Just an amazing Christmas CD. A MUST have-and anyone receiving as a gift will love it too! ENJOY!

I love love love every song on this CD, espically track 10, I am a huge fan at 41 years old I have never gotten chills over anyone like this, I will be a fan forever.

What's with the big gap of silence between tracks 12 & 13? First time I played the CD I thought it was my player--but it happens on all of them I try. C'mon, I didn't buy a CD to listen to quiet! In order to hear track 13 I have to advance it myself.

I don't have a long indepth evaluation as some of the others do. All that I can say is that I love it. He has such a sexy and expressive voice. The music is good and the vocals are great. My personal favorite is The Time of my Life and Declaration. However, I think all the songs are just plain old good. I haven't bought any cd's or downloaded any music for a very long time because I haven't really connected with any music or artist like I have with David Cook. I'm expecting a whole range of music from him in the future. I think he has a great deal of talent and it will be a fun thing to watch it develop. Thanks David Cook for some good tunes.

I love this whole cd...... from beginning to end I can rock to every song.... I love listening in my car...... If you liked him on AI then you need to buy this cd and enjoy every second of it!!!!

I was a big David Cook fan ever since he sang that haunting rendition of Lionel Richie's "Hello" fairly early in the competition. I was really hoping he could overcome the typical fate of previous AI winners and put out something more than a cookie-cutter pop album. Instead, he put out a cookie-cutter "rock" album. T wanted to like this album so much, and even after listening to the less-than-impressive samples of it on this site, I still wanted it, and got it as a Christmas present. Now, I'm wishing I would have asked for the OTHER David's album since Archuletta - without having developed much of a musical identity on the show - somewhow managed to come out with a much more well-written and well-executed debut.

The problem with Cook's release? The songs. They're so poorly thrown together and mundane that you'd swear they were made up seconds before they were recorded [maybe they were, given the crazy AI tour schedule they were squeezd in between]. As other reviewers mentioned, most of the songs sound the same with hardly a memorable hook among them ["Heros" is somewhat catchy]. The song "Permanent" is easily the best of the bunch, but there's nothing on here I'd spend money downloading if I didn't already own the album. Cook could've sang the ingredients on a box of honey nut cheerios with equal results.

I WILL say this - David sings his face off on this album, and he sounds amazing. His strength and presence as a recording artist are just as powerful as the performance ability he displayed on the show. I know the pressure to strike while the iron is hot and put something out while you're still fresh in America's mind is key for an Idol winner, but rushing to get a cd out there just for the sake of getting it out without regard to content or uniqueness is a waste of a golden opportunity. Such is the cartch 22 of winning AI: you get the chance to make a record with a major label, but you only have a couple of months to make what other artists typically have up to year [sometimes more] to work on.

I hope that this very talented guy gets a chance to make a second album, and that he has time to make the interesting and diverse piece of work that he is definitely capable of.

I just received this cd in the mail today and listened to it while I was at the gym. This is a great cd! Really good! I first heard about Nickelback years ago but, for some reason, never really got into them. After listening to sound bites from all the other albums here on Amazon, I have to say that this is their best one yet, and I know why - it was produced by John "Mutt" Lange, a guy responssible for the success of a lot of other bands I admire like AC/DC, Def Leppard and Foreigner. I am not a fan of most modern rock bands because most of them sound the same and it is all pretty forgettable. This album sounds like something from the 80's, back when metal ruled the earth. It is not "hair metal." It is real rock, the kind of rock that is crunching with power and has a good beat. I usually listen to the power metal bands out of Europe like Helloween, Iron Savior, Primal Fear, Gamma Ray, Hammerfall, Brainstorm, Sonata Arctica, Nightwish, etc., and that is mainly because American music has really gone into the toilet, mainly starting about fifteen years ago and progressively getting worse until we are where we are today. This cd is definitely a standout!

First of all, if you listen to and like this band your musical taste is appalling. Pure garbage - musically and lyrically. I don't even have to listen to the record. The bands I listen to CRUSH this band with one note.

Simply put, I don't like this album.. Unfortunately the band peaked with their last album and Dark Horse is more of the same.. You can hear elements of "Photograph" in many of the songs on this CD.. It's obvious the record company has, like many before, pushed this band into producing mainstream rifts and what sells records over producing the band's native sound. Alot of folks seem to like this album based on the reviews and that's good however I just can't see it.. I think the band has peaked with their last album and this one has more mainstream, over-produced tracks than the last one.. It happens to almost every band eventually and is due primarily to the record companies who push the artist to produce more content which causes the content to suffer in quality. Nickelback is no exception. They would do themselves a great deed to find another record company ASAP, or form their own company and sell tracks online. As a huge Nickelback fan, I'm very disappointed in this CD and wish I hadn't paid full price for it.

If you like Nickelback, then you need to get this album. Every song on this album is great. Buy it, no regret.

I just can't stop listening (loving) to it.

A few months ago I started playing the song "Gotta Be Somebody" and a friend of mine came up and asked me what it was because it sounded great! While that song blew me away, the rest of the CD doesn't quite do that. If you're a Nickelback fan, definitely check out this album. For the rest of you, this is one of those albums that you'll either love it or you'll hate it. There is no in between.
This album is definitely on the dirty side (come on just look at the track listing!) It's also a great hard rock album. Sure there are a few mainstream songs like we're used to from All the Right Reasons. If you want songs like from the last album, you can get Gotta Be Somebody, I'd Come for You, Never Gonna Be Alone, and If Today Was Your Last Day. Other than that I would suggest checking out the band Theory of a Deadman. They sound a lot like Nickelback and are more mainstream nowadays. My personal favorite track "This Afternoon" is close but not quite like those others I listed above.
I would highly recommend listening to the album in its entirety online before you actually buy it. I realize their last album sold an unbelievable amount of copies (with almost every song on it hitting the radio at some point). Even if you loved their last album, if you're not a devoted Nickelback fan, listen online first. Otherwise feel free to buy it!

The only piece I could listen too all the way through was Amazing Grace...Everything else sounded the same. It was harsh sounding and the selection for Christmas music was not LAME, and NOT worth listening too..Sorry, I hate being a Negative person, but, this is my honest opinion. They have done MUCH better...
Also, I thought that I was getting a DVD with ALL the songs that were on the CD...NOT so, ONlY 2 songs were there....I was hoping to see them as they sang Amazing Grace....Where is that on DVD ?????

This CD is magnificent! All the voices sound clear and pure. Once in a while Carlos overpowers the others, but of course, his voice is so beautiful, it might not matter so much. Each of these performers are so talented, that they have no problem, usually, blending with the others. Bravo, guys!! I've listened to it over and over and can hardly wait to hear it again. Listening to your music brings tears of joy to my eyes.

Would have wanted to know exactly where product was being shipped from. However,in spite of this, product was as expected and received in a reasonable time from outside the U.S.

Great speedy service, good price, excellent music, Have enjoyed this new CD greatly. Saw them on Oprah and had to have the song Amazing Grace, wrote down the info. then went on Amazon and waited for the release. Very pleased.
