i really enjoyed this album i didnt care for nightmare anatomy much at all , but this really sounds good to me , give it a chance yall

ok, first off, i loved Nightmare Atonamy! It is one of my favorite albums. Aiden is a great band, but to keep this short and to sum it up. If you like scream-o Aiden like me, i would not suggest buying conviction. its an OK cd, but there is no screaming, and its more of a bunch of love songs etc. put together on their cd. i like the cd, but not one of my favorites.

I bought this CD because I loved the cover, now I love their music as well. I have all of the Aiden CD's and while I like them all individualy this one is still my favorite. I think they did an awesome job on it.

Barf barf ralph and barf. There needs to be a sticker for bands that tried to be horror rock, and then completely sell out and sing about how terrible it is to pine away for the prom queen. The only horror left with this band, is what they are selling now as their music. Oh, and that horrible vomit taste in my mouth. Yuck.

When Aiden officially crawled out of the Seattle underground with 2005's Nightmare Anatomy, they had a great story (singer wiL Francis trades addiction for rock 'n' roll), undeniable style (think AFI meet the Misfits), and a clever marketing plan (how cool is calling yourself a "horror rock" band?). All that was missing were the songs. Conviction is a dramatic leap forward. Where the unmemorable Nightmare offered sloppy creep-core and paint-by-numbers emo, the band's impressively tight, '80s-tinted third full-length actually has hooks. The best track, "Believe," starts out a piano-plinked lullaby and then brilliantly morphs into a stadium-sized bro-hymn. Equally dramatic is "The Sky Is Falling," which switches off the Marshalls for soft-focus acoustic guitar and 4 a.m.-reverie vocals. It's not all the second coming of The Black Parade, though, as U2-lite guitars and neon-flavored synths make "One Love" and "She Will Love You" sound like dated leftovers from the soundtrack to Pretty In Pink. Still, give Aiden credit for reinventing themselves. Two years ago, no one would have thought it possible.

...you find nothing good on TV so you flick through the music channels in five seconds flat...you get to scuzz and you stop...there's a guy with white make-up prancing about with a voice like a constipated cricket...this was the single "die romantic"...it was to an extreme everything the papers moaned about the stereotype of this genre...encouraged suicide (to an awkwardly cliched point) and they never seemed to leave a song alone without putting in a scream that felt unnaturally cut and pasted there...I think to myself "no...this will die soon...they won't get any praise for this"...

...a few weeks later people seem to be buying into it...comparing them to MCR as emo icons...and praising them at all...what the hell? Then they win a kerrang award (I know they mean nothing but still) for new international band (their acceptance speech kind of showed their bad sense of humour too)...so then I thought...ok...either the public are stupid or I'm just being narrow minded and not giving this a chance...

...and so I did...and I must say I wasn't expecting it to be this bad...there were times when the guitars had some interesting (vaguely) harmonics...but the drumming, production, and worse of all the singing were incredibly poor...that's when I thought that "no...they'll die now...they can't get a second album after this"...

...and guess what? They get a second album...with Q (idiots) saying they are "The most charismatic since Kurt Cobain"...firstly Q just compared a band to one person (idiots) and secondly ALL THE SONGS SOUND THE SAME!!! The build up to the chorusses always come from the singer singing so fast he can't keep a melody and when they do pace it out in the chorus he sounds the same on every single song (like a FOX!! YAY)...

...if you want good music...it isn't here...these musicians have no talent and were just lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time...if you want talent that is supposedly "emo" then I would have recommend anything besides this (even funeral for a friend did better then these guys)...but yes if it's something heavy and shocking you want then try fall river...as those guys don't get enough reccomendation...

This cd is amazing!!!! I love the cd so much! I love the theme of Nightmares, and I swear Aiden is extremely talented...seriously.

They know how to play at a live show and they know how to rock the fans, leaving them wanting more. If you're going to sell this item 'used and new' you might as well get your money's worth (unless, of course, the disc is scratched). The album explains the horrors of their lives and tells kids going throught the same thing that they're not alone and that they shouldn't be. If you ever talk to wiL Francis(the frontman) i envy you. But if you do you will see his kind heart and even though bad memories drain from it in what some people would call horrific screamo songs, there is a meaning to it. And you should give it a chance. If not, go listen to Brittney Spears and consider yourself emo because you cry over the fact that she shaved her head. If you like Aiden, you're my new best friend. I say thank you on their behalf because if you went to one of their shows they, too, would thank you. From the bottom of their hearts because they only want to be doing what they're doing now.

Hey all scene kids, guess what? Its a new band called Aiden, and they bring you talentless generic crap that every other emo band does! My friend is convinced that these guys are "punk", but i can assure you, this is no punk band. Last I checked, real punk bands dont cake their faces with layers of make-up and sport emo trendy haircuts with girl pants. They are nothing more than Misfit-Wannabes. The drums are generic, the singer has that really annoying cliche wannabe punk voice that youre all too familiar with. And the guitars, good? Hah, i think not. If you want to listen to any bands with better lyrics, Vocals, and guitarwork, check out: Nevermore, Iced Earth, Death, Children of Bodom, Blind Guardian, or any other real metal band. Trust me, you will be FAR more satisfied.

Okay first off, Our Gang's Dark Oath was an amazing album I loved it, I still do. Then they moved to Victory Records and I, knowing that all of Victory's bands sound the same, was very skeptical as to what the change in the label would mean for this band. Nonetheless, I bought Nightmare Anatomy and me being skeptical was washed away when I heard Knife Blood Nightmare. I thought to myself, Aiden is back! All of those feelings of thinking Aiden is still making great music were soon washed away when I heard Die Romantic. This was probably the most generic emo songs I had ever heard. While I will admit, it was catchy, I was disgusted by the fact that Aiden had written it. From that moment of the CD on, my feelings did not change, every single song goes into this poppy attempt at having a catchy chorus and not only does it sound cheesy, it shows the band was quite simply running out of ideas. I was offended by the fact that this band had put this CD out. Did they think that their fans are a bunch of idiots and not realize that this is a sad attempt at becoming popular? Anyone who tries to correct me should listen to this: the big craze right now in music is emo. Aiden, a band that WAS NOT emo before they signed to Victory Records BECAME emo. A band that was not emo before becomes emo when the genre is popular. Hmmmmmm sellouts? Ummm yeah! The funny thing is Victory promotes this, which is why I say boycott Victory before they take yet another once-great band and turn them into every other band that is on their label. If not, you guys can watch your favorite band turn into My Chemical Romance Version 4572364578.

Not the original artists. Very weak versions of beloved songs by marginal to downright bad vocalists.

Lots of great and clear vocals. I was looking for a musical mix and this has a nice sampling of many major songs but also some more recent stuff. I haven't purchased an import before but I would do it again if the opportunity presented itself. It is somewhat annoying to have three cds when I think it could have fit onto two. Still, more than I have complaints, I have compliments about it.

they sound exactly the same as all those other lame emo bands like my chemical romance fall out boy good charlotte etc. whoever said this loser was the new prince of darkness obviously never listened to their music. sorry to the fans but they could definetly use a lot of work.

This EP from Seattle Band Aiden, is not too shabby if you ask me. Being a HUGE fan of Our Gangs dark oath and Nightmare Anatomy, aidens last 2 albums, i was psyched for this one to get released. The first track, A Candlelight Into, is just a short song to get you into the feeling of the record. The next song, The Suffering, Is a WONDERFUL new song they have written and is extrememly catchy. Coming up for track 3, We Sleep Forever, is one of my favorite Songs by Aiden to date. Its just astounding in every aspect. They lyrics, the songwriting, everything. Then tracks 4 and 5, covers first of Die, Die my darling originally by the Misfits then the billy idol song White Wedding. Both pretty good covers, and worth a listen. Lastly the Silent Eyes acoustic, while has strong songwriting, leaves something to be desired. All in all this EP is a great purchase, especially with the fact you get a DVD with it with live concert footage and music videos

Seattle EMO band releases 3 album. This EP realistically has two great songs, the suffering and We Sleep Forever. The band adds cover tunes of WHite Wedding and Die DIe my Darling which are okay covers. The acoustic Silent Eyes leaves something to be desired. The great thing about this EP is the DVD which contains some of the bands videos and some live performances. The EP is worth the puechase for the two new songs and the DVD.

When I heard the Johnette Napolitano track in the movie, I automatically wanted to go out and get the soundtrack. I was very dissapointed to learn that it had somehow been left off of the cd.... Hopefully, this track will see a release.

The popularity of the Saw and Hostel franchises, and the subsequent arrival of the so-called `torture porn' sub-genre, has spawned a number of imitations, one of which is this film: Dead Silence. Directed by James Wan and starring Ryan Kwanten, Amber Valletta, Donnie Wahlberg and Bob Gunton, the film is a mean-spirited horror flick about a man who, having endured his wife's ghastly and unexplained death, returns to his home town, to try to find the connection between a series of grisly murders and the old ghost tale of Mary Shaw and her vengeful ventriloquists dummies. Charlie Clouser, the New Hampshire-born composer/keyboardist/percussionist, has come a long way recently. For those who aren't familiar with his musical background, he was part of Trent Reznor's hugely successful industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails from 1994 to 2000, and worked as a successful producer and remixer, before coming to prominence in the soundtrack world with his score for the surprise 2004 horror hit Saw. Since then he has scored both score sequels, the TV series Las Vegas and Numb3rs, and is making a name for himself in the horror genre. Until this score I hadn't heard anything he's written that I've liked; Dead Silence has finally broken the trend. Once you get past the clichéd music box lullaby theme which opens the "Main Titles", Dead Silence is a surprisingly nuanced electro-orchestral horror score, albeit one steeped in Clouser's industrial/rock background. The strings slash at and ravish the listener, sampled choral effects create a sense of creepy unease, pianos tinkle ominously in the background, synthesized effects growl and gurgle down in the depths of the mix, and vivid stingers jolt the listener to life on a number of occasions. Cues such as "Dad's House", "Guignol", "All the Dolls", "Mary Shaw" and "Dummy" are all impressive, for varying reasons. Dead Silence reminded me or a slightly more electronic version of Brian Tyler's Darkness Falls, a score which I loved, and kudos should go to Clouser for shattering my preconceptions of his work and actually impressing me.

The simplicity of the keyboards at times contrasts greatly with the driving percussion. A contrast befitting such a creepy film. I do wish the producer would have seen fit to include the end title track. I do not hear enough of Johnette Napolitano.

Dead Silence, the score from Charlie Clouser who is the man behind the music of all three SAW films, is a fitting soundtrack to the James Wan film. It's dark, creepy, atmospheric, and haunting. At times agressive, it also delivers more quiet and subdued musical moments. You get 30 tracks plus one cool rock song by Aiden. The running time isn't very long for such a large number of tracks, clocking in at 48 minutes, but every second is worth listening to nonetheless.

Highly recommended if you're a fan of industrial soundtracks, horror scores, or if like me, are a writer who loves having dark and inspiring instrumental music playing in the background while you write.

After years of waiting die-hard Aiden fans finally get there wish with the rerelease of Our Gangs Dark Oath, their album released prior to being signed to Victory Records. What will this album show us that their debut Victory album didn't? Well, nothing.

If you're under the impression that this band was somehow better prior to being inked to Victory you would be sadly mistaken--they still lack an original bone in their bodies and just happen to be riding a high wave that bands like AFI and Thrice abandoned in order to mature.

Surprisingly enough, the vocals on this album are actually better than those on Nightmare Anatomy. Standard upbeat tempo's and screamed (struggling screams really) verses during ""I Set My Friends on Fire"" set the tone for this album. Aggressive in the most pop sense of the word, intense in the over-dramatic HIM style and just enough whine to appeal to the 12-15 year old emo kid. There isn't much to say about this album. If you liked their first disc, you'll probably like this... if you hated the first album, take heart, this album is pretty much the same thing.

I saw these guys at a show with Alexis on fire and Silverstein at the Graceland in seattle. They opened for the other bands but personally i liked them better than the others, adding a hardcore sound to the more emo bands that were there. so i saw them a couple more times, bought their CD, and i love it. every song is incredible, a great blend of (good) metal and (real) punk. they give a really good Misfits feel to the screamo genre. their live presence is nigh indescribable, and having spoken to the band several times, they clearly care about their fans. while other bands sort of sit there and play on stage, Aiden makes even the largest venues feel like a nice small one. They seem to end each show the same way they end their cd, with the song 'the world by storm'. the chanting of 'its in our heads, its in our hearts, the world by storm' is what really makes the show feel special. i suppose this album might feel different if you havent seen them live, and if you get the chance, jump on it, you wont regret it.

I too do not own their first CD yet, mainly cause the store doesn't have it in stock even though it says it does, but still, I have the two demo CD I got at their concert at the Detour, they were absoutly amazing! I was not really the kind of person to like rock but they blew me away! Now I love it(and all rock), their songs have so much meaning to both them and whoever listens to them. It will make you see the world, government and life in a whole new way. I'd like to thank them for making this CD avilable for everyone to enjoy.I think everyone should own this CD!
