What a great collection. This CD has all my favorite Air Supply songs and a few new favorites. I have a 20-month old who is an apparent Air Supply fan...won't go to bed without it playing in her room.

Air Supply is the one band many people love to make fun of. They symbolize all the silliness, mushiness, and pleasant light rock commercialized sound people usually associate with the 70's (of course there's a LOT more to 70's rock than just light rockers that reached commercial success- the 70's were actually FILLED with creative bands that sounded like no one else, and that stands even to this day).

But as for the ultimate collection of Air Supply songs, you can't find a better one than the Best of Air Supply.

One of the best compilations of the soft rock legends. If you'd like to get a timeless romantic feeling this one is highly recomended.

Luis Mejia (son) - this Air Supply compilation, The Best Of Air Supply, is definitively the perfect compilation with a group of beautiful, cohersive hits from one of the most important soft rock bands, and certainly the best for starting to listen to them. Containing a set of international hits from their most important albums, like their three greatest studio albums: Lost In Love, containing their most impressive vocal performance in the title track Lost In Love (#5), The international, extremely famous and melodic All Out Of Love (#2), Every Woman In The World (#5), and the dramatic Chances; The One That You Love, being their international breakthough, this compilation contains its hits Here I Am (Just When I Thought I Was Over You) (#5), the theatrically driven title track The One That You Love (#1), and the heavily orchestrated Sweet Dreams (#5); and their last brilliant successful album, Now And Forever, containing the magical/best Even The Nights Are Better (#5), the melodic but kind of dull Young Love (#38), and the most beautiful, romantic Two Less Lonely People In The World (#38). Of course, it also contains the all time classic, super potent Making Love Out Of Nothing At All. It results even impressive to see also in this album more exentric but still beautiful minor hits in their earliest albums like Love And Other Bruises, Air Supply and even Hearts In Motion, as these minor hits does not put the listener to compare and contrast, it is just for having different points of view and to enter into a delicate "acquired taste" of Air Supply. The booklet does not contain lyrics but it does contains the songs' titles with their charts position and albums, and most better, the songs' order is cronological and in album order; it also contains a small biography of the band. So, here you have it, as Air Supply live their gratest potential throughout their hits, I strongly suggest to buy a compilation first, and most adequate The Best Of Air Supply, containing the most of their romantic, famous and most brilliant compositions in an specific order and with few but consistent and comprehensible traces of minor hits to enter into an acquired taste for Air Supply, but for die hard fans don't expect The World Is... or The Book Of Love, much less Across The Concrete Sky and Air Supply 1976. After buying this compilation, if you were convinced and may want to explore their studio efforts, I strongly recommend to buy first Lost In Love and/or The One That You Love, both their finest and most famous moments in studio, and later you may want to check out their last platinum Now And Forever, but just AFTER one of this two and this ESSENTIAL compilation, as if you got the message of Now And Forever, you may have gotten a strong taste for Air Supply and buy any of their other albums, at last, who would say romantic ballads are 'dated'!

There have been many Air Supply hits collections released over the years, but this album may very well be the ONLY single-disc collection of theirs (including imports) to include all 13 of their U.S. "Hot 100" chart singles. Particularly notable is the inclusion of the oft-forgotten "Lonely Is The Night". This was Air Supply's last chart hit (#76 in 1986). It hadn't yet been recorded when their original "Greatest Hits" album was released in 1983 and it was also excluded from 1999's "Definitive Collection", 2003's "Ultimate Air Supply" and 2005's "Love Songs". (Although it did finally turn up on 2004's "Platinum & Gold" Collection). So technically, if you're looking for a truly complete hits collection from Air Supply, this is definitely the one to get.

This particular collection also features another rarity of sorts in that the first two songs are from Air Supply's first album, "Love And Other Bruises" in 1976. (This was four years before they broke through with the international smash "Lost In Love" in 1980). The songs, "Empty Pages" and "Love And Other Bruises", show the duo in a much less orchestrated state than what most of their hits are known for.

The booklet includes some liner notes and a few photos of the guys, as well as information on which albums the songs came from, and the Pop Chart positions of the 13 songs that made the chart.

For the Air Supply enthusiast, this collection covers 1976-1986. If you're looking for a collection that covers their later work, you would most likely be better served by the 2-disc import "Forever Love" which covers 1980-2001. But as mentioned before, if you want just strictly the hits, this album is the way to go. As for sound quality, this album sounds every bit as good as "Ultimate Air Supply" and "Platinum & Gold". If you have either one of those albums, you'll know what I mean.

Now a suggestion for the folks at Sony BMG/Arista. How about including Air Supply in your 2-disc "Essential" series?? With 2 discs, there would be plenty of room for all 13 of their chart hits as well as album cuts and rarities (like the original Australian version of "Lost In Love" that turned up on "Definitive Collection"). Just a thought...I'd really like to see "The Essential Air Supply" sometime!!!!

Ultimate Air SupplyI saw Air Supply this summer where they performed most of their hits. This CD had all the songs they played at the concert.

That's the main reason why I bought this CD. Well that and the price. But man, Goodbye was so my song back in the day, back in the Philippines. Man, Air Supply have some really good songs.

Yea this is a pete Namlook Review. The "AIR" record. This is some of the softest Ambient music and yet it feels like I could listen to this anytime and I'm sure This is going to be the beginning of my Love for Pete Namlook. Who is the most prolific record producer (Electric) ever. This Album is going to be played by me allot.

I was very happy as this cd is a great collection for all air supply lovers. a great cd and surprised what songs are on it.

Here's Air Supply's one and only christmas cd this is a must for all great air supply fans.If you want to heaar some great christmas music done the way that only Air Supply can then is cd is just for you.

I have always found Air Supply to be a strangely appealing group. Whenever I hear one of their songs, I am somehow able to sing all of the lyrics, even though I've never owned any of their albums or known anyone who did. So, I enjoy using Air Supply as a punchline for the epitome of cheesy 70's and early 80's music, even though I think I actually like their music!!

Having admitted all of this, my wife bought me their Christmas album as part joke, part fulfillment of a lifelong dream of actually owning some of their music. And to be honest, this particular album is relatively nondescript. As some other reviewers have assessed, much of it is ultimately very boring. That's as much a testament to the mediocre arrangements of these classic Christmas tunes, but there just didn't seem to be much punch in these songs. Even the two original compositions, though very Air Supplyish, were rather nondescript.

Ultimately, this album isn't terrible. They sing some great Christmas songs, and they sound like Air Supply. It just doesn't have much character to it. I think I'll try Air Supply's greatest hits album, as they seem to be best with songs written specifically for them. If you like everything that comes out of the mouths of these two guys, then you'll like this. But if you want some stellar Christmas music, you'll have to look elsewhere. (Try James Taylor's Christmas album. It's fantastic!!)

Air Supply was destined to release a Christmas album as they are suited for it. The duo did a wonderful job performing 8 very classic and beloved Christmas classics. Graham Russell wrote two original tracks for the record "The Eye's Of A Child" & "Love Is All". But wait a minute...what in the world makes these two songs Christmas songs? The fact they are on a Christmas album? Perhaps, but they sound like traditional Air Supply songs. As it may be "Love Is All" is the best track off of the album. This one will definatley stand the test of time as I listen to it every holiday season and never really get tired of it. Well done and enjoyable especially for the holidays!

I love Air Supply, I have their greatest Hits CD and I love it and think the songs on that CD are great so that is why I bought their Christmas CD and sorry but I have to agree with the reviewer from Canada that this CD is boring! I love Christmas music but this CD just dosen't appeal to me at all and I find it to be a major snorefest!

Each Christmas I hear the song "Eyes of a child" and can't quite see why it is a christmas song only and not played more on the lite rock radio stations. I am getting married this year and each of us is bringing one child into our new family. I found this song to be perfect for the ceremony as we give gifts to the girls and acknowledge all of us uniting in family. If you know of anyone doing something very special where children are involved, recommend this song.

You know you remember these songs. You know you love them. Don't hide from it! Embrace it! Sure they were probably singing the songs to each other, but you can't deny that you sang along! It is so rare to own a CD where every track is a winner, but this one is a precious jewel! Sure it's incredibly 80's! Sure you'd be embarrassed if someone pulled this out of your collection at a party and started playing it, and do you know why? Because this CD is the greatest guilty pleasure of the 80's! Duran Duran? Men at Work? Frankie Goes to Hollywood? They all take a backseat to these voices and these songs!

Luis Mejia (son) - The "Forever Love" compilation is definitively the most complete, double-disc compilation you'll find from Air Supply, containing 36 of their best songs, the album also presents a collection of their thoughts about each songs without placing lyrics. The album contains all of their all time classics, including pop-tastic pieces of the most talented nature like "Lost In Love", "Every Woman In The World", "All Out Of Love", "Chances", "The One That You Love", "Here I Am" "Sweet Dreams", "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All" and "Even The Nights Are Better", all of them top ten hits and as lovely and original as they come, while there are also present other of their minor hits as "Two Less Lonely People In The World", "Young Love" and their last big entry "Just As I Am". But the best part of it is the addition of minor but so intense songs as their brilliant cover "The Power Of Love" the light "Lonely Is The Night" "Tonite" and the massive Asian hit "The Way I Feel", and even pieces of Russell Hitchcock solo album! Almost every song in this compilation hits to be their best, most soft and well crafted pieces of romantic music, but as been a massive compilation, the selection of songs is quite uncaring, inlcuding the selections of the Yours Truly album, some of the Now And Forever album like "Come What May" and "Taking The Chance" are unnecessary, and even some really good songs were skipped, but as far as it offers even their best quality titles which were unnoticed, this compilation is the perfect one for people searching more of their songs without buying all their studio albums.

When they said thirty-six greatest hits of Air Supply they wasn't kidding cause that's what it is all of the best love songs ever this would be the best Valentine's Day gift ever so get yourself a copy of this love songs for your wife,girlfiend or for your mother or mother in law what a way to get on her good side than to give the gift of love remember you don't always have to buy a candy or Roses just buy this cd. I can't get enough of Russell's voice. This is a great CD. Songs like Where Did the Feeling Go, Daybreak, Without You, Unchained Melody and Always are wonderful. I play it over and over and never get tired of it.

Air supply were much bigger in America, where they had a string of big hits, than in Britain, where they had just two hits - All out of love made number eleven and Even the nights are better was a minor hit. Both of those made the top five in America, as did Lost in love, Every woman in the world, The one that you love, Here I am, Sweet dreams and Making love out of nothing at all. They had other hits in America too, including Two less lonely people in the world, Young love (an original song, not a cover of the rock'n'roll classic) and Just as I am, all included here.

Their last American hit was Power of love, the song that was originally a massive hit in several European countries for Jennifer Rush (including number one in Britain where it charted at the same time as a completely different song with the same title by Huey Lewis) and was later an American hit for Laura Branigan. Celine Dion revived the song in the nineties and had a huge hit with it in both Britain and America.

All the above-mentioned hits can be found on the first CD of this collection. The second CD includes the best of the rest of their music, showing that there was more to Air Supply's music than just the hits.

For those of you that enjoy romantic pop music, this collection should be just ideal. Fans of Bread in particular should enjoy this.

This CD is a fantastic collection of the Air Supply songs that I remember and love. The quality of the recordings is superb, and boy, those guys can sing!! I love this album.

I had the Definitive Collection years ago until my mom "borrowed" it... she loved it so much that I had to get another copy for myself. It's the ultimate collection of Air Supply's best songs. "Lost In Love" gives me such intense feelings of nostalgia and reminds me of the crush I had on my high school classmate Chip. It was our unofficial "anthem". When "Making Love Out of Nothing At All" came out, I played it over and over again, allowing myself to get all teary-eyed about a puppy love that went awry. "Every Woman In the World" was an empowering song. "Here I Am" was emotionally riveting. "Even The Nights Are Better" had a smooth vibe and made you want to sit on the beach under the stars with your loved one. Air Supply was and still is one of my favorite groups from the 80's. I haven't heard a single song by them that I don't love! The Australian duo's Definitive Collection is a must-have for anyone who can appreciate love ballads from that era!

As an Air Supply fan from the beginning, I have been looking for years for a "definitive" hits collection that includes every song of there's to crack the Billboard Hot 100. I used to own their "Greatest Hits" which was issued in 1988, but it left off key tracks including: "Young Love", "Two Less Lonely People in the World", "Just as I Am", "The Power of Love (You are my Lady)", and "Lonely is the Night". Then this collection came along which did include "Young Love", "Two Less...", and "Just as I Am". In a sense I guess it is definitive in that it includes all of the songs to make the Top 40. However, it leaves off the singles that did not make the Top 40: "The Power of Love" which peaked at #68 and "Lonely is the Night" which peaked at #76. Since this release, they have put out another hits compilation called "Ultimate Air Supply" which is still not a complete collection because it still leaves off "Lonely is the Night". If you are looking for a true, definitive collection, the only on Amazon is an import that sells for $24.49, which seems a bit steep. I am gonna stick with this one that has all of the Top 40 hits, and try to download those other 2 songs. If you are looking for just the Top 40 hits, this collection will suffice.

I have always been a fan of Air Supply. I grew up in the 80's listening to their beautiful love songs. I always felt so comforted by their music. I will always be an Air Supply fan. They really know how to write and sing great music. I feel that anyone who does not appreciate their music has a serious problem.

I haven't played this whole cd, but I love Air Supply's music. My favorites songs were "All Out of Love", "Two Less Lonely People In the World", they are on the cd. Russell Hitchcock is my favorite. He has a wonderful voice. I have another cd of Air Supply it is a good one two. I did not buy this cd off of Amazon.com. I bought it at a mall, so I encourage you to buy this cd. It is fantastic!

These are sweet songs to listen to with your child.

I am a religious listener of Delilah and accidentally stumbled across this album. What a pleasant surprise! I have a daughter and a daughter-in-law who are both planning to present me with grandchildren in August and November of this year! This will be perfect for both of them and the Daddys, too! Never have I seen such tender, heart warming songs, etc. on one CD. God Bless Delilah!

I listen to Delilah on the radio every night she seems to have the perfect song for every ocassion. After I heard her talk about her new cd on her program I bought it immediately. Delilah has once again picked the right songs for the moment.
I love You Are So Beautiful by Joe Cocker, especially when it is relating to your child. Of course, my daughter loves to sing along to Itsy Bitsy Spider. Delilah also adds her own stories and wisdom between songs. I feel Delilah My Child is something every parent should own.

I'm not really a fan of these "Cheap" compilations that you find at places like Target and Wal-Mart and K-Mart and stuff, but I really wanted to own this when I sampled it at Target, but it was never in stock until several days ago, and I snagged it up immediately. Classic tracks from The Jeff Healey Band, Foreigner, Air Supply, The Cars, Cutting Crew, and more. And what better way to close the album with the song it's named after:"Forever Young" by Alphaville! Which is not just one of the greatest songs of the 80s, but one of the best songs of all time!

Maybe it's just that I'm a rabid Air Supply fan, but I absolutely love this collection. I initially bought it for just one song (I Can't Believe My Eyes) after hearing it on Mannequin 2 (yeah, I know, who admits to watching that?).

When I got the disks, though, I was thrilled to find that there were other songs I didn't already have, and there's not a bad one on the entire set. Of course, I expected this because I love all of Air Supply's songs, but it was still a nice surprise. It also includes all the classics, so it's a great volume for an Air Supply newbie to start out with.

If you love Air Supply then this the cd for you it has all of their hits and the singles from the solo cd of Russell Hitchcock. And you ever wonder what they sound like in concert then you'll love the viedo's on this cd as well so buy it and enjoy.

This is a wonderful music disc for those who love these guys!! There was a problem...twice...we had to return it...twice... because the DVD DOES NOT PLAY. Our Computer guy says it was never burned...the darned thing is BLANK. This is a serious manufacturer defect and we are really sad about it. We would have loved to have seen it.
