Akon

This album is a near classic. It only missed it by a few songs. Akon has always had talent. Thats why i am so happy with this album, because his first album was terrible and i thought it served him no justice. All the song were produced terribly and the songs themselves were just garbage. But aftere hearing "I Wanna Love U" on the radio and i was instantly addicted to its sexy but ghetto feel. So when Konvicted dropped i ran and got during my lunch break and listened to it on the drive back. And i honestly liked just about every song. The only songs i really skipped over were "Never Took The Time" and "Once in A WHile". Other than those to tracks everything else was good. My favorite song is probably either "I Can't Wait" which is just a mid tempo love song with a nice vibe to it, or "Mama Africa" because this song is the perfect song for vacationing, it has a jamaican feel to it and Akon is just on point with his lyrics. But the best thing about this album is the production is so much better. Akon is definetly here to stay after this album. Because this was the album that he reached out to a more diverse crowd. Here is the best way to describe how truly good this album is, i believe that if America were to have a time capsule right now, i think that Akon's album would be an option to put in there because he is just such a loud voice and his music really moves people and there will never be another Akon. Overall the album is great but still not perfect.

I think this CD was pretty good. I bought it for my son. The language is quite graphic so if you are in the least bit squeemish over vulgarity go with the censured version. Akon's voice is in a class by itself and the music is good and the story lines to the songs are excellent. The rain is my favorite.

2 good songs isn't worth a purchase in my opinion.

And what happened to all of the reviews for this CD?! There were quite a few last time I checked!

Ah well. I'll spread the news on how bad Akon and his voice sucks as often as I can.

I like rap music................old school that is. Given, I do still like NWA, Tupac.....but today all this rap is starting to sound like the whole cliche....I got this. I f**ked her......I got these rims on my car/truck. Rap use to not be like that. This album totally sucks......Akon can't sing....at all. I think along with him and R-Kelly both should be locked inside the closet together. The song that totally pisses me off the most is the last track: "Doesn't Matter". Quit your whining, dude. This sounds like rap/emo. Want some real rap? Stick with Common, Mos Def, Tupac (RIP), or Ice Cube.

I'm a white male over 50 years old, not exactly in the target market. But this guy speaks to me musically, lyrically, emotionally.

Open your mind and give Konvicted a fair listen. Akon is great!

I REALLY ENJOY LISTENING TO AKON HIS VOICE IS VERY DIFFERENT FROM OTHER ARTIST WHICH MAKES HIM STAND OUT. THE GUY HAS TALENT THE ALBUM IS REALLY GOOD. IT MIGHT NOT BE A 10 BUT I WOULD PURCHASE IT HE GOT JOINTS THAT WILL MAKE YOU MOVE AND ALSO THINK!

I like all the songs on this CD except #10 (its a little too slow for my taste). A good amount of his songs have caribbean and african rhythms, which i love so i enjoy listening to this CD in my car and while im doing laundry :-). I gave it 4 starts only because i dont like song #10.

An R&B album with a lot of urban Hip-Hop appeal. If you like Akon's sing-song style, this album is for you. He talks about more than just picking up women, that is just the club bangin' singlesw/ Slim Shady and Snoop. His album goes all over the place (sad to happy and every emotion in between) and seems 'real', not a formula type album. I'd recommend it.

Akon is something fresh and new. He presents a rare moment of originality in today's music industry. If you love hip-hop or R&B you'll love Akon. He blends the two genres perfectly. His style is very refreshing and rare. His R&B style is not laced with romantic croons, instead he sings about harsh realities and his own life struggles. I believe Akon is one of the best R&B singers of all time. I know that is a powerful statement, however, the first time I listened to him I could not stop yearning for more from him. I had to buy the album almost immiedeatly. It's a classic from the beginning to the end. You will not be disappointed in purchasing the album. "Locked Up" and "Lonely" are the standout tracks, yet Akon delivers several more songs that will have you wishing he would have came out with a double album his first time out. Akon is a debut legend. Enought said.

After hearing Akon lament about his troubled past on `Locked Up' I rushed out to purchase the CD in it's entity, for judging on the strength of that one song I knew I'd be in for a treat, and what a treat it was. Sticking to his roots Akon delivers a unique musical experience that stands out from the crowd as different and all his own.

With slow tempo tracks like `Trouble Nobody' about rehabilitation and the difficulty in picking up the pieces after committing a felony and `Lonely' about the sore feeling of losing the ones you care about, Akon easily cements himself as one of the most thoughtful and almost poetic artists to emerge on the scene in a while. He still gives us club tracks to grind to like the ever popular `Bananza' which is like my wife's favorite song, as well as `When the Times Right' which is my favorite track here.

All around, this is an album to please any fan of hip-hop and R&B. Coupled with impressive beats, an intriguing story and Akon's one of a kind voice and sound `Trouble' is one of the better albums to come out in a long time.

You know, I first heard this album awhile ago, but after listening to it all the way through, I decided it was only okay. My least favorite song in Bananza. The reason is because it makes belly dancers all look like a bunch of strippers and sluts, which we're not. That song is very disrespectful. The rest are so-so, nothing great, nothing horrible. I recommend this to some people, who listen to whatever they can get their hands on, but if you want amazing music hip-hop or anything, this isn't it.

Half of this CD is awesome, but the other half is kind of hard to listen to. The only songs I like to listen to are 1, 3, 4, 6, 9, and 13. Those songs give this CD a 4 star.

Even though I was a big fan of Akon and loved the original version of Konvicted, I was reluctant to buy this "Deluxe" edition. How fortunate I feel that I did. Akon is one of the best things that has happened to hip-hop and R& B in a long time and "Konvicted" showcases him at his very best. His songs range from rap to soothing romantic ballads like the masterpiece "Don't Matter" and even hybrids of the two such as "I Wanna Love You" and "Smack That" which features a return for Eminem. The inclusion of "Sorry, Blame it On Me" one of the best songs of recent years, alone is worth the price of the upgrade to the deluxe edition. It is his most touching and heartfelt song to date. As extra goodies here we have a second disc with two music videos ("Don't Matter" and "Smack That", as well as a glimpse of his trip to Africa). Akon is a true genius and this is one of the best albums in the last decade or so.

I have been an AKon fan since the first remix collabo I heard him on spitting "konvict." This CD has some very simple and very soulful songs as well as some fast pace songs. Also check him out on the 50 Cent CD Curtis for an awsome collabo. I bought the Akon CD with the DVD and I am glad I did. The DVD isnt long but it will help you learn about the artist. I love this guys music and I hope he continues to grow and perfect his already unique sound. What are you waiting for? Order it right now.

The melody will keep you singing along from beginning to end. Very catchy. Excellent beat.

This single from Akon is possibly one of his finest. The beat and melodies interwoven throughout this song grip you and hold you until the very last note. A worthy addition to any serious music lover's library.

This album is so good. It features songs with many topics. "Ghetto" is about Akon growing up in a poor neighborhood. "Banaza:Belly Dancer" is about women. Bananza:
"Girl: drop it down,just wanna see you touch the ground, Don't be shy girl, go banaza, shake yo body like a belly dancer!"

Yes, it does feature the hilarious song "Lonely" with the sped-up voice.

It also features the songs "Gangsta","Pot Of Gold", "Journey", so many more..

Good album for people new to the whole rap thing.

The album Trouble, by Akon, is a very good album, if your in the right mood, like songs like Locked Up An Lonly are sad and depressing where as Belly Dancer and Show Out and Trouble Nobody are more up beat. Whatever mood your in, Akon's Trouble matches it!

This is a wicked CD. His first single is a winner, but unlike most new artists, the rest of the CD comes through. Congrats!

This is a great part 2 to the already good album of "Trouble." I've listened to this cd over and over, and it's just as great each time. Some of the top ones would be "Yey'" and the remix to "Banaza (Belly Dancer)". This is def. worth it...

Since I baught that CD, I've been listen to it about a million times, It's an amazing Art work, Akon it's really tallented. I like the CD it's Hot.

The first cd was good but this one is even better. I guess its true what they say that the 2nd time is a charm. It is well worth the money and great addition to my collection.
