Alan Braxe

This is the CD i have been waiting for. If you like Daft Punk like i do, especially their second album then this is a must buy.
Every track bar track 11 (a rap) is top drawer.
Most famous tracks are "the music sounds better than you" which everyone knows, and "Rubicon", although every track especially first 10 are amazing
Trust me!!!

The Upper Cuts - whose awesome album cover is actually designed by one half of super popular French duo Justice - is an amazingly consistent house record that should be in the library of any house music fan.

Elegant and not very showy - the synths on this record are extremely subtle and may even take a few listens to really sink in. There's only one bad track on the album (a rap track that really doesn't fit) and the rest is really gold.

They sound like Daft Punk minus the fanfare and peaks. Beautiful culmination of the French touch and a great intro to those looking to study the sound that made Ed Banger and Kitsune what they are today.

I don't think a lot of people know Alan Braxe save maybe sthrough Stardust and his biggest single "Intro".
He is part of those DJs in France that really created French House back in the late 90s along with Bob Sinclar, Benjamin Diamond, Jean Jerome, Superfunk....
Some of these took off but Alan Braxe was never a big star.
This can all be remedied with this CD :)
This is pure french house, sunny, fresh....

Try it out if you like what house music used to be 10 years ago you'll love it.

I 1st heard Alan Braxe on his colaboration with Daft Punk as Stardust. It's a great tune. But not quite as good as this loop. It's an excerpt from the song 'Crush On You' by The Jetts with a funky bassline added. There are numerous remixes of this song. The best are still the original club mix and the Luckystar mashup with Superfunk. Download it.

First heard this song on Radio FG in France over the net back about 1998 - 2000 and for the longest time I didn't know who the artists were and all these years that song has been stuck in my head. Now that I have finally found out who did this I am going to finally get my copy. Well worth buying except from the seller here who is currently trying to sell his/her copy for $90. Go to Amazon UK and get it for about $30.

One of the best dance tracks ever. A must for dance music lovers!

Oozing instant "get up & dance" beats "Rubicon" is an exuberant, totally infectious slice of "good time" 80's house/synth catapulted into 2004 by Alan Braxe & Fred Falke. It's retro, it's French and it's so ridiculously addictive that it should carry a health warning. One of the best dance tracks of the past few years? Some claim... but as you ponder the question watch out for stray bodies bouncing off the walls. Best not to play too loud in company.
