I've had this album since 2000 and in the past 8 years, Amel's relevance to the music game has been solidified. I am compelled to write this review now to persuade the casual Amel fan to purchase all of her albums, starting with Infinite Possibilities.

During her Groove Theory days, her soothingly astonishing vocals were introduced to us through variety of love-inspired. Infinite Possibilities is her invitation to fans into her cultural, eccentric, bohemian version of love, life and happiness.

oldie but goodie. i still listen to this when i want to chill or when my friends come over and we just want to have something on in the background while talking and drinking. favorite track is track#10.

This album from Amel Larrieux puts her in a positive class by herself, and it was well worth the buy for me and for anyone who heeds motivation, relaxation, and mutual luvin'.

I've been feeling Armel since "Groove Theory". Her solo debut is really tight. People might disagree but I think this is Armel's best work to date (her signature). Some complain that her vocals aren't strong enough. But on this disc her voice goes from smokey to energetic with equal effect. The stand outs on this disc in my opinion are (2) Ini, (3) Sweet misery, (10) Make me whole. I don't know if people classify her as "Neo Soul", I hope not, she should have her own category (Diverse & Wholesome).

I really only bought this CD for the song "Make me Whole" but the whole CD in itself isn't bad at all! I am very glad that I bought it, and I listen to it quite frequently!

I bought this album shortly after it came out in 2004 because I'm such a fan of Amel's songs, her voice, her passion, etc. More than three years later, I still pop this CD in when I want to relax or just be swept away by the soul and soothing voice of an amazing artist. I have three Amel solo albums and Groove Theory's album, and while I enjoy all of them, this is my favorite.

"Dear to Me" is one my my favorite songs by anyone. That is an R&B song, no doubt about it. You just want to sit down, close your eyes and gently nod your head to that song. "Bravebird" is a touching song. I think "Beyond" is a haunting ballad that is sung with such emotion -- it's the kind of song that could never be a pop hit because it's far too real and filled with substance. Truthfully, every song on this CD is enjoyable to listen to.

I came across Amel when she appeared as a free download on iTunes. Loving the song, i started listening to her other albums. Bravebird is my favorite from her 4 albums. This album must be looked at as a story. A beautiful story. Each song is beautiful in it's own respect. This album is painfully underappreciated. A true hidden gem in the world of Soul music. Some truly standout tracks are Brave Bird; the perfect chillout track, All I Got; an empowering song with a catchy chorus line, Beyond; one of the best songs Amel has ever recorded, and Sacred; an absolutly stunning stripped down track that shows Amel's true vocal range. Overall, a true classic in music and one of the most underrated albums released in the 21st century. Please spread the word about Amel's music!! And make sure to check out Amel's other albums!!

Why do her vocals remind me of Beyonce? Well except Larrieux's been more controlled, while Beyonce's took more time to tame. And if Beyonce ever got to the point of not singing odes to materialism and man-hating, and stop writing from an 18 yr. old jetsetter point of view, she might produce a work of sophistication as this. But enough of my criticisms to Lady B'(who I actually do like but I'm hoping she angles for a more mature direction). This album is lyrically deep and groovy at the same time. The first track is a smooth track and instantly catches your ears' attention. The second title track standouts with the house-beat and the sensitive lyrics. Larrieux's vocals are incredible throughout. And the fact that this was an independent release should put some mainstream record companies to shame for allowing artists to release some of the crap they do.

It's a nice cool album from a wonderful and talented singer! So many people don't realize that she is still doing her thing without groove theory. Definitely check her out!

It seemed inevitable that someone as talented and creative as Amel would have to eventually go the indie route. And I am sure glad she did. Yes, her debut was nice, but going independent has allowed her to do anything she wants, whether it be lyrically or musically. Bravebird was the first release from Bliss Life Records, which is run by her and her husband, Laru Larrieux.

The opening track, "For Real," is beatiful and probably the best song on the album. (The high notes she hits at the end are just amazing. They sound so natural.) On the title track, Amel pays homage to the people who speak out; therefore not only helping themselves, but also the others who are not as bold to do the same. "All I Got" speaks about working with what you have and being comfortable with where you are. "Giving Something Up" is dedicated to the single mothers in the struggle. The socially conscious lyrics of "Sacred" are moving and Larrieux discreetly reveals the mess that goes on behind the scenes at the major record companies on "Say You Want It All."

The production is flawless. It has much more of a bounce than the jazzy, laid back groove of Infinite Possibilities. Her vocals are top notch and the lyrics are incredible. I highly recommend.

Amel Larrieux is quite possibly the most underrated artist of this time period and "Morning" simply adds to her impressive resume. This CD is solid, from first to last note and fans who have appreciated her positive energy will appreciate what this album offers. "Trouble" is a fun, French infused jazzy song about declaring affinity towards a man. "No One Else" is a sweet, soft follow up to her popular love song "Make Me Whole" from Infinite Possibilities.

Step away from all the hugs and kisses and behold inspiring songs such as the title track "Morning", "Magic" and the solemn "Gills & Tails".

This album is worth every penny but even more significant is that you'll be supporting a real artist who cares about her craft, who cares about spreading positive messages into a world full of scarred souls, who decided to skip the mainstream route to explore the depths of her heart & soul.

Please note: Amel Larrieux is not for everyone. If you're looking for the usual, bland R&B formula we've all heard endless times, Amel is not for you. If you don't view music as an art form and don't care about music uplifting wounded souls and spirits and believe MTV is the end all and be all of music, Amel is not for you. If you give this album anything less than 5 stars, you still haven't had the distinct pleasure of immersing yourself in all Amel's music has to offer and allowing her angelic voice and deep lyrics to penetrate your soul.

If you've ever asked yourself,"What happened to good music?", buy this album immediately (along with Infinite Possibilities, Bravebird and Lovely Standards) and your question will be answered.

Amel Larrieux is the real deal. Period.

As always, this Amel CD is right at home in the "Soul" section of the music store. It's not quite at the same level as Bravebird, her previous release, but it's very good. After you listen to Amel's CDs, you're bound to be more relaxed and a bit happier. This album isn't quite as deep, per se, as Bravebird, but it still sounds wonderful.

My favorite song is the title track, a very smooth R&B tune. "Trouble" is a fun song with which to start the CD, and "Earn My Affection" is upbeat and soulful. "Weary" is another real, melodic song. If you like Amel and you like true R&B music, while this CD may not end up in your top 10 of all-time, you will be glad you bought it.

I don't know how to write a review on this album. It is simply just a beautiful album from start to finish.

I recommend to anyone.

one of my favorite amel larrieux projects. a friend brought it over on a trip from philly and from the first track "trouble", i was riveted. that groove in particular is smokin and the hook is ridiculous, i just wish it was longer. following that everything is a smooth, jazzy and polished collection of larrieux-ish songs. a pretty consistent record and she should be proud of her accomplishment.

I would rate this at 3.5 but there is no half so I am rounding up, great album, though Bravebird was better. The style of both the beats and lyrics have somewhat changed from her older stuff. Not in a bad way however, it is just a different vibe. I say have of the album is great, 3/5 is good and 2/5 I wasn't feeling but none of it is 'bad'. She is a great artist, she brings more substance than most of the people out there. I like to think that there is no one to compare her to, she is original and that is why I am such a big fan.

If you don't own anything by here, get the first two albums too. They are well worth it.

I STUMBLED UPON THIS CD WHILE LISTENING TO A JAZZ STATION. I'M NOT A BIG AMEL LARRIEUX FAN BUT ITS A GOOD CD, BERY RELAXING TO LISTEN TO WHEN YOU WANT TO JUST SIT BACK AND THINK ABOUT LIFE, SHE DEFINETLY WOULD BE A GREAT JAZZ ARTIST IF SHE GOES THIS ROUTE MUSICALLY...

Amel definitely proved that she is a true jazz artist on this CD. I have to admit that I am...or was not a fan of jazz. After listening to Lovely Standards, I can see the influence jazz has had on her previous albums. (Listen to Lovely Standards, and then listen to "Infinite Possibilities"! I guarantee you'll appreciate her music more! This is a beautiful work of art! (As is all of her music)

I guess Amel's Neo Soul fan's are a bit astound by this very beatless jazz like CD. I however think it is not bad it's very nocturnal, autumnal it's all to do with the voice the piano and stick bass but that's what traditional jazz is about. A few low points exemple : Wild Is the Wind's depth is non existant here it's a deep song with a strong sorrowful melody this version lacks, You're My Thrill is fine but it makes me feel like hearing Julie London instead. But all in all it's an intersting project, unsure the vocal jazz aficionados will fall for it though.

I predicted Amel would recieve Flac because she was releasing a CD of standards, well I was sceptical too, until I bought it today. I put it on and played it once, doing things around the house. Certain songs stood out more than others, but I by no means think this is a bad move for Amel. She glides effortlessly thru these songs, and some are not easy to sing either. What caught me by surprise is the Track #10 I like the sunrise, I had to play it several times because I could feel it was a pivotal song in the CD. Trust me my friends, this is not Bravebird cont. or Morning Pt.2 this is different and I like the chance she took. If you are a fan, take a chance and sample some of the songs. You'll like this collection. I already do.

At first I found Amel's singing a bit raw and serious for my taste but with a few listening you realise that she has a very nice selection and different arrangements to certain songs heard a hundred times.
A fine voice(can't wait for her next R&B album) and you get a sense of pride listening to her as it feels like her heart is poured on to every track as she sings. Track number four is my favourite.

I really like Amel Larrieux because she is extremely talented. I just love the flowiness of her voice as well as the words she uses to pull you in. The majority of singers in the R&B genre can not come close to Ms. Larrieux and I mean that. She deserves to be put on a pedestal for the type of work that she has done and will continue to do for fans like me, who look past image and focus on what really matters "Quality Music."

It's a shame that more people out there cannot be graced by the musical presence of Amel Larrieux just because she is not on the top ten lists nor make appearances on MTV. Nevertheless, she is a gem, soulfully bombarding her listener with a concordance of musical honesty. Her voice is airy in its delivery, she literally breathes into every song. Talent such as hers makes me upset that artists such as Britney Spears can be idolized, yet REAL voice talent such as Ms. Larrieux's can be ignored. This is one of the best albums of 2004. Highly recommended if you are a fan of the likes of India Arie., Jill Scott or Sade.

this is one of the best orignal cd ive heard in years AMIL has a way of making you fill all she's filling through words and music. I cant say it enough this will be a clasic cd.

"Get up" is surely indicative of what Amel's talent evoked in the past for listeners of songs of hers like "alright," "you will rise," and "keep trying." The song cleverly cuts close to what real people go through. Her flavor is purely inspirational and reminiscent of quality sound that is easily loved because of its truth. There is not one active artist on the charts who compliments the adjective "smooth" so powerfully. All faithful listeners of Amel's have waited patiently through soundtracks and other works just to get a taste of a vibe that is greatly appreciated. Can't wait for the album!

I only heard this song once and I know I have to get the whole lp. The girl is on point and she aint showing off too much like most sistahs these days. She seems pretty real and I know a lot of people will feel the same.

I've only seen the video and I must have it. SMOOTH! The groove made me close my eyes, smile, and start to move with the beat. I was sold right then and there.

I saw the video a couple of days ago, and I just have to get it, and the LP when it comes out. "Get Up" is a great single with a nice groove and brisk lyrics, and Amel's voice brings it all together. She is another talented sister who is going for hers. I hope her new joint does well.

Rarely can you buy a cd album from an artist with a divine lulling and entrancing voice, inspiring lyrics with a sway-able rhythm that is soothing and relaxing simultaneously.

Amel Larriuex has come into her own. Her days with Groove Theory gave her good exposure and a sound she has made unique. The Track "Shine" describes how she made some bad decisions and now learning to be a better person as a result. "I Am I" gets props as it deals with the female image in America through song. "Make Me Whole" tells why she has come to love her man so much. She even thanks his mother for bringing him into the world. "Infinite Possibilities" (the best track) relays images of a young brother with a serious attitude that needs some fine tuning. Overall the content has a spiritual tone. "Weather" is a tight piece that makes you want catch the next available sunset. This project also delivers some classy flavor as well with the track "Down". Here she lets her jazz skills flow. Who is the piano man?????? This is a good edition to any collection.

The possibilities are indeed infinite on this album. Amel is sudductive and sensual through out this album. Put on the headphones push repeat, and take the journey. Amel is simply super !!!
