Found this guy on YouTube originally. Fantastic guitar player, and not just in a novelty kind of way.

Very enjoyable instrumental album.

I happened to listen to one of his pieces called, "Drifting." Not only was I stunned by the genuine style of chords he created through his music, but I was more impressed by the fact that he used to be a homeless whose phenomenal talent finally caught someone's eyes and ears which brought his works to this world.

Folk, jazz, Spanish-favor, classical--sorry, no rap. My twenty-something son gave me this for Father's Day early. I bought a copy for my seventy-something father in celebration of the same holiday. We all love it. See Andy McKee on YouTube.

This album is very good example of talent of Andy McKee. He has fantastic skills of handling acustiq guitars. Take this album and you will not regret.

I've been a fan of Leo Kotkke and Michael Hedges for many many years. I've learned to play some of Kottke's simpler pieces on 6 and 12-string guitar. I just discovered this CD by Andy McKee and I like it a lot. He has amazing technique. His music reminds me of Don Ross for it's percussive attack and some of the funky grooves. It occasionally sounds a bit like Alex de Grassi in the melodic content and harmonization. Highly recommended.

You probably saw a Youtube video of Andy and then decided to buy his music. Good choice. Andy McKee is currently one of the most critical talents in the world of guitar, combining his magical songwriting with refined technical skills and innovative techniques. His heart fills the music as he makes it all look so easy. Andy's music is timeless and truly valuable to listen to for relaxation or just for the sake of beautiful music.

This is another excellent album from Andy McKee - a young guitarist who's frankly a much better composer than he has any right to be at his age. I've listened to this album at least 5 times and it's yet to get old. If he's this good now, I can hardly wait to see what the rest of his career has in store! Also, a big thank you to Andy for coming through town (Felton) awhile back - it was a great show! If you have a chance to catch him and/or Don Ross live, do so!

This is a fantastic album. I am a fan of both of these guys, and they play together as good as cookies and milk. If you like fingerstyle guitar, this is a great album. Spirit of the West (1st track) kicks off the album in style.

This disc gives a fantastic overview of some of the new music being composed for the harp guitar. Most of this music is not available elsewhere. Highly recommend.

I give this CD 2 stars, rather than 1 star, simply out of respect for the recording-quality itself. Unfortunately, it is an excellent recording of unfortunate music. My recommendation is: Buy this CD only if you like harsh, edgy, dissonant jazz. Mapleshade does offer some excellent jazz CDs that you should check out, including Harold Ashby's "Just For You", as well as Fernandez's remarkably good "Melodia Para Congas." The C.I. Williams CD and Clifford Jordan's "Live at Ethell's" are also excellent.

One of the best jazz CD I own

andy mckee's ²one world² is called jazz,ok,maybe, and : it is a fusion of many styles from all over the world put together to something delighting for the mind and the soul. in short words his music passed my test : hearing it over and over again the wish to hear it again ( ok, maybe a few days later )remains.

i'm no music critic-therefore no lingo-i'm just somebody who loves, needs & is addicted to music, many kinds of music.
andy mckee's "one world" is called jazz. ok, maybe, and it is a fusion of elements of all over the world. his music is something for an open mind, a mind which will be delighted by many changes, allusions put together to something completely new. the best is the role of his bass, not repeating well known bass lines but playing as a front line instrument.
last but not least, the cd passed my test :hearing it over and over again the wish to hear it one last time again didn't vanish.
