This is a great album. It's worth your time to listen.

Folk, country, rock...great.

I think this album has had more plays in my CD player than any other album I own. Mat Brooke and crew have created one of the most enjoyable, beautiful albums I've ever heard. The live show is not one to be missed either. Fans of Brooke's previous band "Band of Horses" will definitely enjoy this record as much, if not more than anything BoH has ever put out.

at last found an new group that has great music, intelligent words, and good singers. music is a throwback to the 80.s, slightly reminicent of ELO. lyrics don;t match the cheery, peppy music, and are dark. listened to band of horses, carissa;s weird after hearing this and believe this tops them both. am surprised and dissapointed that this isn;t making a bigger splash and getting air time.

I bought this cd on a whim. I happened upon this band on myspace and decided they were worth a listen. I was not disappointed at all. When I just want to drift along in my car its the perfect soundtrack.

I discovered Archive recently, and since I can't stop listen to this Band. This Album is one their best creations , along with "You all look the same to me" which has a different sound . Londinium takes you throught a nice and wonderful music experience , far from the regular Emmy award - hollywood -like bands ."Parvaneh" or "Organ song" or "Londinium" are musical break-throughts , reminding me what Genesis or Pink Floyd did at this time . I can only suggest to pick up a copy of Londinium and start to listen and listen again to this fantastic band .It is too bad this Archive is not planning a tour in the USA .Good job guys!!!

pro: trip hop grooves rate up there with the best of them. beautiful eerie female vocals. reminiscent of zero7.
con: several tracks ruined by the horrible rap style and delivery. this album would be 6 times better without the bad rap (npi).

What could have been a great Trip-Hop album was completely ruined by the terrible rapping. The music is incredibly textured and the female vocal is amazing, but the mc's rap style harkens back to the early styles of the 1980's, and he uses the same cadence on every track. I'd love to get my hands on the origional recordings and completely lift his vocal from the record. This album is not worth getting.

i've never posted a review before. but this album, which i've had for more than a couple of years now is just so incredible. it's still my favorite album after all this time. it's almost perfect.

i'm critical .... it's rare for me to like even 50% of the songs on the albums by my favorite artists. but this one--lordie lordie... how can it be possible that no one knows this album? how is it possible that people know so much crap that's out there and not know this?! like others have said, anyone who hears this album loves it. so who's the fool who handled the marketing on this thing? why's it only available as an import and not everywhere?!

Sorry but this review will be short. This album's cd or the minidisc copy I made of it, goes with me almost everywhere I go.
It lives up to to all the hype it gets. Beautiful female vocals ,smooth british rapping and perfectly produced beats. I couldn't ask for anything more in a record. Everyone who I have played this album for loves it (even my mother.) Yeah stop reading and Buy It Now!!! By the way It is extremely hard to find in record stores so once again Buy It Now!!!

I only discovered Archive recently. Where have I been dozing? This is a fantastic CD if you enjoy intense, emotionally stimulating, powerful music. It's a combination of alternative/rock/grunge with an element of hypnotic ambient for want of a better description. Some parts bring to mind a cross between Radiohead and Coldplay but they are not trying to copy either. The longer tracks have a great build up that lets you really get into them and enjoy. A real treat.

Well I'm a recent Archive addict. I came across the band by coincidence and it can't stop listeming to them. "Lighs" is a superb album with rich sounds and atmosphere. It comes after "They all look the same to me" and the magic "Londinium" . I like very much FOLD,LIGHTS , I WILL FADE and HEADLIGHTS .Yes , some songs make me remember Pink Floyd or Genesis , or Radiohead but they can't be blamed for their great taste , can they ?
I recommend anyone willing to embark on a wonderful journey to buy ( and NOT DOWNLOAD) this album .

I have been occasionally listening to Archive since their 2002 release of You Look All The Same To Me and I generally liked all of their releases before and after the above-mentioned album.

However, I must admit that I never got caught as much as I did with this new album - Lights is most certainly their best achievement so far and I am quite sure it will propel the band into the higher league of contemporary rock music - if it does not, they should change their management.

When I listened to this album for the very first time a few weeks ago it blew me away and it kept growing since then. I played it to a bunch of friends one night and they all sat their for the full length of the album just listening. They all own the record themselves by now.

If you like progressive rock and if you are at the same time not offended by contemporary drum & bass influences, if you like atmosphere and melodies and if you like bands that are not afraid to put songs longer than 2:30 minutes onto a record - then this album is for you, go and get it!

Oh yeah and they will go on tour with this album as well, so if you have a chance, get a ticket and go and see them put all of this on stage.
