In response to "A Music Fan" from Idaho, I located the song you were looking for. Mary Griffin is a singer from N.O, and her song "Anytime" can be found on her "Purified" album..

One of the best soundtracks to pick up. It ranks up there with the First Mortal Kombat movie Soundtrack. I bought the Ballistic soundtrack because I liked some of the artist on it but when I got to track 8 Hell under water by Curve, I even more impressed because ever since the Spider-man trailers I had been looking for the song, which is why I gave it a five. Even with the lame score songs by Don Davis. I was expecting them to be hard pounding techno, like the other tracks.

This CD is compiled with some of the best electronica music out there. I highly reccomend this and the score that comes out on the 29th. This soundtrack has 2 songs done by Don Davis and the rest of his stuff will be on the score. The only thing I was upset over was the ending song "Anytime" by Marry Griffan wasnt included for some reason... Hopefully they will put it on the score.. This is a Beautiful yet Strange cd, a friend gave it to me when it first came out. I wondered if he was ok because this is an Album of Digweed and Muir. When I listened to it at first I thought now I know why he just gave me the cd but then I started to like the first three tracks and the last one Heaven's Sent. Then every day before school I would listen to it but only those tracks. Now I like every track this is a very good cd it is just like there other works they just take time to like. The first three tracks get you moving then the others kind of but not as much, but have very good bass very deep. This is not a bad cd just takes time for some tracks but other tracks like the first three and the last one people should like at first. I would give it four stars because the tracks are not mixed in, but since it was given to me I will give it FIVE!

first off, let me say that i'm not a dj.

okay, so this album is definitely one which would cater more to a dj than a listener or any sort. as one of the other guys said, there's a lot of dj-friendliness happening on here, which means big long stretches of nothing but beats and minimal synth noise. when you're mixing, this undoubtedly a blessing, but its just boring as hell to listen to. my personal favorites on this album are the first track, and the ambient remix of that track. the other mixes don't hold their own as well, they'd be fine in a set, but they're not much fun to listen to.

the heaven scent remix is alright, but i prefer the original. perhaps the POB mix is "up to date" but i really couldn't care less about that, if the music is good thats all that matters. the problem with the POB mix is that the melody seems to be sort of tossed in as an afterthought. the builds and all lack the impact that make the original such an awesome track.

so overall, being an art student, i really like this disc. its great to pop it onto headphones during a studio and just space out to. and these tracks would appeal to prog house dj's, very mix-friendly. but if you're looking for stuff you can more traditionally "listen" to, i think you'd get bored with most of this disc.

Bedrock's BEAUTIFUL STRANGE release may be designed to appeal to DJs with its unmixed 8 tracks, but the disc is worth picking up also if you are a fan of Bedrock's productions.

"Beautiful Strange (original mix)" is like the complement to Bedrock's hit of two years ago, "Heaven Scent." Whereas "Heaven Scent" is melodic, explosive, and a perfect end to a set, "Beautiful Strange" is deep, subtle, and an energizing intro. It's wondering, and I wish I was hearing it more often at clubs.

The Moonface mix of "Beautiful Strange" is a lot less deep and has much the same style as many of the tracks of disc two of Digweed's HONG KONG. Quite a lot of this track, however, is "vinyl stretch" and sounds pretty uninteresting if not mixed with another track.

The Rui da Silva mix of "Beautiful Strange" is barely recognizable. It has a more of a nature-sound, but doesn't cross the line into tribal house.

Voyager's Platium Remix of "Beautiful Strange" is minimal and whispering. Definitely an track with which to end a set.

The last of the remixes of "Beautiful Strange" is Bedrock's Ambient Beats. It's indeed ambient, something like a Seefeel remix without the organic warmth.

"Forge (original mix)" is something of a B-side, and its trance style is too passe for this track to garner much recognition. It's really low in the BPM's, and it's only questionably a House track. Nonetheless, it's got a pleasing rhythm and after the Original Mix of "Beautiful Strange" the track that sounds best unmixed.

Next up is Saeed & Palash's Breathless Remix of Bedrock's "Voices." It works a lot like their remix of Luzon's "The Baguio Track" and is highly unmelodic.

Last is POB's Seismix of Bedrock's classic "Heaven Scent." When mixed into a set, this track is breathtaking, updating the original's slightly out-of-date trippiness into a metallic progressive funk.

First off let me say I am a huge Bedrock Fan, and I do frequent DJ'ing. This CD contains some very melodic and progressive house beats they are not mixed together which is a draw back for most Trance enthusiast's but if you DJ this CD gets 5 stars you can really work these song in well without worrying about other songs on the CD interfering. I particularly like the 2nd and the 3rd track. In these two tracks I can feel Digweed's full influence on Nick Muir. All around this CD gets 4 from me.

Very similar to John Digweed's own Spider-Man theme tune (why oh why is this not on CD yet?!), Heaven Scent is an absolute masterwork of trance.

Beginning with a progressive and infectuous beat you are already totally in the groove of this track BEFORE the main melody explodes to life like a firework blazing across the night sky.

Fusing a dozen different atmospheres and moods, Heaven Scent is a must have for anyone who loves trance music. Also included on this CD is a rather disposable 'evolution dub' mix that develops upon the beat rather than the main melody (which is totally absent).

Being a fan of House music in the '80s, and Warehouse Grooves of the early '90s, I really liked this trance track when I heard it in the movie "Groove". I didn't know the title, and it was hard to tell out of all the titles at the end of the movie, which one it was. It was the second last song played in the movie, and I was able to obtain a copy of it through (...). It's 10 minutes long, which only feels like half that time, with it's changes and variances, and overall slammin' groove! The soundtrack for "Groove" has an edited version which sounds different, the CD single is the same as in the movie.

This is one of the classics alongside Freefall's Skydive and Solar Stone's Seven Cities. I would give it 5 stars, but there are only 2 tracks and the 2nd track is only so-so. Track 1 is a must have and definetely worth the money. If you haven't heard this song, check it out or buy this CD, you won't be disappointed.

great percussive melodies make this one a surefire hit. bedrock (digweed/muir) have been releasing quality tunes ever since trainspotting's "for what you dream of", and has currently remixed satoshi tomiie's "up in flames", another Gatecrasher anthem. if you love deep trance, this would make a fine addition to your collection.

Make sure you listen to this very loud with headphones to get the maximum effect! INTENSE! If you like this you will like stuff by Gouryella and Airscape also, make sure you check out the fierce Euphoria mix cd! Awesome! John Digweed knows how to rock!

this album hits hard from the beginning, but changes it up like crazy.

uri caine is a musician very much in tune with what is happening in the music world, therefore the d n' b tracks sound like something squarepusher would have programmed, the hip hop tunes groove extremely hard, etc. this guy knows what's up!!

perhaps it is musician's music, for better or for worse

This disc missed the mark for me. It's a great lineup of talented people, but they just don't really seem to put a cohesive, interesting recording together. There are some good tracks, with ambient electronic elements and some actual instrumental improvisation. I generally enjoy electronic elements in jazz, eg: Dave Douglas or Craig Taborn and many other examples in the Blue Series recordings. The problem is that this disc falls back into a kitsch funk fusion far too often. There are a handful of tracks that are sort of playful replicas of 70's fusion. That might sound fun, but this sort of funk fusion was novel and relevant 20 years ago, and rehashing it fails to recreate either of those qualities. Perhaps I missed it, but I don't hear what new ideas the musicians bring to this sound. These tracks were so uninteresting as to prove distracting from the handful of good moments on the album. Essentially, after listening through the disc twice, I just don't really ever want to hear it again. I, for one, am dissapointed.

Well you certainly get value here, as this EP clocks in over 70 minutes. The original title piece from Bedrock is surprisingly bland, a mid-tempo number that never really goes anywhere over twelve minutes. Many of the elements had potential, but the lack of beat variety and mimicked `Voices' parts just don't add up.

Thankfully it packs 4 remixes, of varying styles, many which are currently springing up on compilations already. Moonface contributes a real sharp house piece, laying down a snappy beat that's a tight contrast with the melody and "Beautiful, strange" vocal. Other winners include Voyager's Platinum remix, a high energy progressive number, and POB's take on `Heaven Scent.' Rui Da Silva's goes higher tempo, twisting knobs and panning channels, but doesn't really draw you in. Saeed and Pelash have a quite skippable `Voices' version.

So three keepers, three unremarkable tunes, one that doesn't work, at EP price it's a safe pickup for Bedrock/John Digweed fans but other trance enthusiasts would be better served picking up a DJ album.

This song really get's you moving. This is the CD Single of Voices, by Bedrock, the duo of John Digweed and Nick Muir. Everything they make is expeptional, and this follows suit. There are two mixes of this song on the recently released mixed CD Communicate by Sasha and Digweed. I would recommend that for the value. As far as the music is concerned, this deserves 5 stars, but for the value of getting a single on CD, I'd have to give it a 4.
