I Remember purchasing Point Blanks album"On A Roll" when it first came out, by chance really,I liked the album cover, and the bands name sounded good , so it was really on a whim, as they were generally overlooked by the Canadian music Scene.When I got the album home and had a listen I was Very Impressed on this Bands writing abilities,not to mention the fabulous mixing and general sound from a technical aspect! "Point Blank" Superb!!Catchy riffs,great harmonies,Southern Rock at it's finest,This album contains the Best from "Point Blank" you won't be disappointed.If your a fan,,, you already know,, if your not "give em a go"!!You soon will be!!!

AMERICAN EXCE$$/ON A ROLL is yet another great two-fer from Texas rock band Point Blank and its pro-law-enforcement leader, guitarist Rusty Burns. Bubba Keith has replaced John O'Daniel on vocals, giving the band a slightly more commercial sound and style, but this set is still great. Now if only AIRPLAY and THE HARD WAY would be properly reissued.

Recently while traveling out of town I heard the song Nicole on the radio. How cool! I hadn't heard it in years and couldn't remember who it was by. It sorta stuck in my mind so I did the research and discovered Point Blank CD's on Amazon. I didn't really understand initially but this turns out to be two albums combined on one disc. I didn't remember until it arrived but "On A Roll" is an album I'd bought clear back in 1980 that had some great music on it too!

I've had "Airplay" on vinyl for years and love it. I ran across this double cd and thought I'd check it out and WOW! This is a great two-on-one cd. I love every song here. Great guitars...great keyboards...great vocals! Point Blank is an extremely overlooked old rock band. Sadly, they just don't make em like this anymore. This is one of the best cd purchases I've made in recent months. Highly recommended!

This is again rock music at its best! Rock In The Seventies Rules!!! In the 70s we simply called them just Hard Rock or Heavy Rock! This one is hard rock with a taste of blues. But other will call this music Southern Rock among other acts like Black Oak ArkansasRaunch 'N' Roll Live, Molly HatchetMolly Hatchet - Greatest Hits [Expanded], Lynyrd SkynyrdLynyrd Skynyrd - Freebird The Movie / Tribute Tour, Outlaws, Blackfoot, Ozark Mt DaredevilsTime Warp: The Very Best of Ozark Mountain Daredevils, Allman Brothers Band, ZZ Top & 38 Special to name a few.

This is the original line-up of Point Blank. Rusty Burns on guitar, slide guitar and vocals. Kim Davis on guitar and vocals. Peter Gruen on drums and percussions. John O' Daniel on vocals and Philip Petty on the bass.

Listen particularly on the songs Freeman, Moving and Wandering and you'll be looking for more Point Blank albums. I've got their album The Hard Way and this is an excellent one unfortunately there is no release in CD.

Lots of good songs and lots of guitar playing in these 2 albums, so get it now before they run out of copies!

POINT BLANK/SECOND SEASON is a great reissue of the first two albums from the Texas Southern rock band Point Blank, whose lead guitarist, Rusty Burns, has recently come forward to advocate capital punishment for kidnappers and increased funding for law enforcement, which is less unique among Southern bands than the fact that these albums sound more like Montrose-meets-Ted-Nugent than like most Southern rock. That in itself is a great thing, since the former band's two lead members, guitarist Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Sammy Hagar, as well as Ted Nugent, advocate the same things that Burns now does, as well as having the same blues and R&B roots as the great Southern bands. This CD features some great rockers and blues numbers that hearken all the way back to Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown's and Buddy Guy's wonderful 60s recordings. ALLMUSIC GUIDE's Stephen Thomas Erlewine gave their later two-fer, AMERICAN EXCESS/ON A ROLL, a better review, so his kids should have to complete 600 hours of community service in order to graduate from high school because of the negative review their father gave this wonderful slab of roadhouse rock & roll barbecue. Get this CD at the first chance you can.

First two albums from Point Blank are as good, or better than anything ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and other 70's Southern rockers have issued. Great vocals, and amazing dual guitar harmonies, make these two albums a must for any true rock fan. Both albums were produced by ZZ Top's producer.

I have several of these type of cd's with these waltzes and classics etc.I like this one very much , it is reasonably priced,has what you might say are, really the great hits.It is pleasant , relaxing, and entertaining to listen to.Strauss is my favorite when it comes to this type of music.

I expected a CD that was mainly Feinstein singing with an orchestra.It was,however mainly the singer with piano singing what I call Dities that reminded me of the English music hall dities of the 1920's-40's that Noel Coward sang. I never associated Feinstein with that type of song.He does very well with selections from the great American Songbook.

This album has some GREAT songs on it; sophisticated swing being one of my favorites. However many of the other songs are too operatic and lame. I give three stars but this album is definatly worth it just for some of the better songs.

The magnificently talented Michael Feinstein has made one wonderful album after another for nearly two decades. Now that Elektra and Rhino have put together this anthology, I am blown away by the versatility and diversity in Feinstein's recorded output. Such amazing rare gems, combined with the most beloved favorites in the history of American Popular Song. Assembled with wit, intelligence, and obvious affection on the part of the record company, this set is a keeper. You'll love it!

Is there anything this man can't sing? This collection is so varied as to be the definitive collection of songs for any occassion.

This is perfect background music for a dinner party for a whole group but especially for two. Light, romantic and just gorgeous. You just can't go wrong when Michael Feinstein is your musical choice.

Way to go Michael, you've done it again!

There are very few contemporary performers who can hold their own with the truly great interpreters of American popular song. Michael Feinstein is truly the ONLY performer of the "younger" generation who really understands what these songs are all about. His incredible knowledge of this music, and his enthusiasm and passion for it have fueled his career. Rhino Records has done a truly outstanding job of putting together an anthology that exemplifies why Mr. Feinstein has become so beloved by audiences around the world. The packaging is excellent, and filled with interesting photos and background information about many of the selections.

This collection not only contains all the favorites one would expect, but a neat group of surprises too. I especially love the duets with people like Liza Minnelli and Rosemary Clooney, and the various collaborative efforts with songwriters like Jule Styne and Burton Lane accompanying Michael at the piano.

This collection is a classic to be treasured. Bravo Michael!

Blank and Jones are really good putting chillout tracks. The first CD was better. But this is really good.

WOW THIS IS TIGHT! TO ALL YOU DOWNTEMPO HEADS THIS IS GOOD MUSIC. THESE GUYS ARE JUST ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF HOW GREAT MUSIC CAN BE FOUND OVERSEAS AND HOW OUR MUSIC MARKET IN THE STATES IS SO LIMITING. CHECK'EM OUT!!!! NOW!!!! THEN GO BACK AND GET VOL 1 AND THE NEW VOL 3.

All I really have to day about this 3rd release is that it DOES have good tracks that are consistent with B&J's style, but not enough this time. They overused the vocals of Mike Francis to the point of aggravation to my ears, and also have more of a sound associated with a slowed down version of classic R&B. I'm sorry, but I can't chillout to that. If I was one of the guys I'd suggest to the other that we work harder and spend a few years making more of our own tracks while completely laying off the vocals to make Relax: Edition Four is as magical as the first two, if not more. It would definitely be worth the wait. The big Mike Francis fan would be better off buying this album, but I suggest that the B&J and Chillout fan go through each sample track and buy just the few enjoyable ones as downloads.

CD1 (Sun): Roots is very nice track. It has a good tropical sound to it. But I'm a little upset because it became more of an extended intro to Nothing Can Come Between Us (with Mike Francis), which pretty much got ruined by the singing. Die Blaue Stunde (The Blue Hour) is the perfect track to listen to on the weekends while relaxing at an after-hours lounge early into morning. The Palms is another B&J track that makes me want to just sit and hang out all day at the beach, staring at the water while the sun adds more color to my skin. Florent 2 AM and California Sunrise are two of those relaxing but stimulating tracks we all need to listen to at work to keep us going.

CD2 (Moon): Captain Of Her Heart (Lounge Instrumental) falls under the same category as Florent 2 AM and California Sunrise, but more in a "it's late-afternoon and almost time to punch-out" kind of way. Lazy can continue that theme in the car while fighting traffic on the way home, and sometimes even to work. It definitely helps me keep my cool in Friday evening gridlock. People From Ibiza (Bongolover Mix) catches my attention because it's a rich reminder of the tribal sounds that come from the Balearic Islands, even though I think it's just a little too fast-paced and upbeat to be in this album.

Let's keep our fingers crossed that there'll be a 4th album that will make-up for this one.

If you have copies of the first and second edition (the first being that hard to get), you would immediately see the difference in the third one, simply because it's Mike Francis dominating both CDs. But hold on, it doesn't mean he made it less interesting. For those who are wondering who Mike Francis is, he's an italian singer who's famous in Asia. He has a very distinctive voice. Overall, I think B&J still delivered although most of the songs are revival. I particulary enjoyed their versions of Sade's Nothing can Come Between Us & William Pitt's City Lights (both sun and moon versions). Their version of Culture Club's Time makes the moon CD a striking start. The flow of the rhythm from one song to the next is superb. Well, it got my attention, it's in my car, and it plays all day!

The blank & jones relax series is so special to me...Me ex-girlfriend actually fell in love with me when I played the relax vol 1 and vol 2 during our intimate moments...The 3rd installment is slightly different than the first two but is an instant classic...It has a very 70's retro feel to it but the awesome programming makes it very up to date...The first cd titled Sun is very relaxing, ibiza beach style trance with lot of soothing vocals from Michael Francis...The second cd titled moon is a bit faster yet relaxing with quite a few vocals. It is a perfect cd to end the night with at a place like Cafe Del Mar or any afterhours lounge...Buy this cd set!! you won't regret it.

This album is a total disappointment, if you heard the previous two releases from the Relax series before. Nothing compared to the excellent previous Balearic chilled innovations. I am not recommending to buy this cd.

This is probably the best artist trance album of this year. Very uplifting, progressive trance combined with trademark European synth-pop style melodies. There are even some heart pounding tracks in here. I also like Armin's Imagine which came out earlier this year, however, Imagine is more mainstream trance while LOP has more of a Electro-Synth clash feeling. There are mostly vocal and some non-vocal tracks on here...The vocal tracks are simply to die for...Every single track in this album is good especially Miracle Cure and Night Stars....Splendid Album!!! Also be sure to catch B&J Live...They're so talented and real fun to watch...They sure know how to bring life to the show by connecting with the audience unlike PVD who is horrible at connecting with audience which makes his live performances dull and boring....B&J are the next big thing in TRANCE!!

I love Blank and Jones and they are spun by so many great DJ's. This is a pretty good album, but every track left me thinking that it would be so much better without the vocals. There's not much good you can say about trance vocals. I can only listen to so many shallow tracks about staring across the dance floor at some half-naked sweaty person as the sun comes up. However, this album is quite good otherwise.

This CD, Beyond the Calm of the Corridor, was worth every penny. Their other songs are just as good as "Middle of Nowhere." "Middle of Nowhere," isn't even their best song, the CD is very good and should be in every rockers collection.

Wow! Just found this band and I am pretty happy.

I read an article from "Michael Smith" comparing this to "Nickleback", so I was not expecting much. Obviously "Michael Smith" Is incorrect.

Straight forward rock is back, and this is a solid CD with powerful music and personal lyrics. Nickleback sings about banging chicks and sells records in millions as many bands have before them.

This is a good band, so pick it up and forget about the ridiculous comparisons. Or don't because you think it sucks.

Just stop listening to people like "Michael Smith" and like music or don't.

Honestly, When I bought the "Freddy Vs. Jason" soundtrack and heard "Middle of Nowhere", I expected great things. I Expected a much darker album than what i heard. Addicted was the only other noteworthy song on the CD. Maybe I am Wrong, but you are doing better to pick up "City of Evil" by AX7 if you want some entertainment that will take you through more than 10 tracks.

Wow, I bought this album based on "sour times" by Portishead. I thought metal was dying, but this really puts the headstone on it. Call yourself "blank theory" wow. call yourselves "blank" and be done with it.

I got this album two or three years ago now and its still more than enjoyable and hasn't become stale. This is quite a good album, with diverse sounds and textures to the music. If your looking for something new to listen to, you can't go wrong with this album. If you already own it, consider one for a friend!

Whether it be for background music in the evening while you're pottering around the house or you're looking to turn down the lights and sit on a couch and just listen to the music this is perfect.

The quality of the recording is top rate. This cd doesn't seem to be compressed. I highly recommend this cd

Great, got all three CD's. Could do without some of the singing on the songs, but music itself is a pleasure to hear.

I've always dug the sounds of Relax by Blank & Jones since the first time I heard it on the DI.fm Chillout channel a few years back, but I never bought the original album since I could never afford to pay the imported price for it (and I'm sure I'm not alone on this). Fortunately, this domestic version came out very recently so I finally put in my order the very next day. The price was right for the quality and quantity of tracks. I have to say that Edition One does sound much better than Two and Three. That is, the work sounds more creative well put together. The latter two seem to lack just a little of same mellow mood found in this one. Just another example of the original being better than its' sequels.

CD1 (Sun): What can I say? Words can barely describe how great these original and timeless tracks are. The listener will just have to hear this set for themselves all the way through to appreciate them. After 5 years, they're STILL perfect to listen to on a warm, lazy day at the beach (or watching the grass grow in the backyard if the beach is too far away) for the Chillout fan that just feels the need to get away from it all. It's especially relaxing because it has more actual soothing music than vocals (which have the potential to get a little annoying in certain cases when added to Chillout tracks). B&J did a great job of adding their musical talent to some of these songs I've heard in the past. Loves Comes Quickly by Pet Shop Boys has always been a good song from back in the day, and B&J just made it better. I'm not really a fan of Sarah Mclachlan, but her classic "Angel" got an excellent rework. I never thought much of that song until B&J got into it and made her voice sound like a haunting of the soul. It almost brought a tear to my eye (almost). Very well done as usual...

CD2 (Moon): At the same time, these new upbeat remixes are worth checking out. Although it's not AS calming as the first set, this set has plenty of hoppin' euphoric House and Trance sounds for all the Ibiza clubheads out there. Also ideal to pop into the stereo while driving up the coast to help clear a stressed out mind. Relax (Vargo Vocal Mix) could've easily been chosen to be the original Relax, while the original could've been labeled as the instrumental version. Breezin' (Bruno From Ibiza Mix) reminds me alot of the mind-blowing tracks that come from Enigma, mixed with a very subtle tribal beat. Flaming June (Chicane Remix) is a great remix with sweeping synths and rolling bass (same goes for Unknown Treasure (Jean F. Cochis' Timewriter Remix)). Worth listening to for those fans of Nick Bracegirdle. Daydreamin' (Beach House Remix) does sound like track to play while hangin' out with friends at a beach house. The remix name fits the description well. Driftin' (Chill & Grill Mix) slows things down just a little with its seductive sound for those intimate moments with the significant other. Counting Clouds (Saints & Sinners Remix) is a total mind-trip. The ambient sound of rain drops does sound better than the showers in the original. Watching The Waves (Van Bellen Remix) is something I would definitely expect to hear at Club Privlege in Ibiza. The pulse-pounding 140 BPM beats mixed with the synths and vocals flying by the listener's ears and over their heads is definitely a danceable track. Secrets & Lies (Solid Sessions Remix) pumps up the emotion factor with a 303 beat that's commonly found in Progressive Trance tracks. Counting Clouds (Sunset Session Remix) slows it all down and sounds like it could've been another replacement for the original. Horizon doesn't seem to run well with this set at all. I have to say that I am a little disappointed that B&J didn't add this track to the first set. But still a great end to an uplifting set nonetheless...

This is an amazing album to me. Not sure why but it just grabs and clings on in a haunting sort of way. The vocals are beautiful and really bring it all together.

I've been following the work of Nobody (Elvin Estella) since his Soulmates debut, and I'm always amazed by how much the guy keeps evolving. All of his albums are different, sometimes radically so - what a refreshing change from musicians who mine the same groove over and over again. A true artist. I must say I enjoy all of his work. His arrangements are very innovative, and he is very skilled in creating atmospheres. All around talent. With this work, the vocals are perhaps not anything special, but they have the huge advantage of not being irritating/destructive (and "irritating/destructive" happens in about 95% of all cases in music like this). And here again I love the music, the intricate instrumentals and the impeccable production by EE. He's one of the few artists whose CDs I buy without listening to them first - I trust him, he's proven himself time and again (and I buy new, not used CDs, to support the artist). I'm looking forward to his next CD.

Not a good album....need to drop the vocals and the glittery chimes. Although, if an instrumental came out I would snatch that up very quickly.
