Brad Paisley

I'm surprised to see a couple of negative reviews on this album, because it's fantastic! I have all of his CD's, and this is definitely going to be a favorite for me. It's more traditional country than some of his 'catchy' songs (which I love too) which shows how he's grown as a musician and song writer. An excellent album!

from the song that will make you laugh, to the song that most of us can relate to.......truly entertaining..

Brad paisley has consistently produced great albums, and this is one is no different.

I think this album could be called Brad's "growing up" album. From imagining his new son growing up in "Anything Like Me", to the thought of life with a new love in "I Hope That's Me" and the current radio single "Then", and even himself growing up during "No" and "Water". During an interview on GAC, Brad admitted that this album is more serious, more thoughtful than previous albums, and that does show through. Even the more lighthearted "American Saturday Night" is still a comment on the multiculturalism of America. But not to worry all you die hard Brad Paisley comedy fans, there's still some classic comedy, in the form of "Catch all the Fish" and "The Pants". The only thing really missing is a Kung Pao skit...

If you are a Brad Paisley fan, or even just a country fan, this album has a little bit for everyone. As I said, it is a bit more serious than say "Mud on the Tires", but still an excellent purchase, and it's one of those CD's that you're not hunting through to look for the one or two good songs. This CD is one you can pop into the CD player and listen through the entire thing.

Brad Paisley has made a habit of making great albums filled with well-written songs. This album is no exception. It is different in the fact that many of the songs step away from his traditional style, but not necessarily the sound. He still shows off his guitar skills on just about every song, but he knows when to be more articulate than fast with his picking. Many people are disappointed with this album, but many others who have not paid attention to Paisley are pleasantly surprised. It would seem that there is something for everyone on this album. The title track features some of the catchiest lyrics in Paisley's catalogue. Songs like "Everybody's Here," "She's Her Own Woman," "You Do the Math," and "Oh Yeah, You're Gone" step away from his form in some ways, but they still are well crafted. The song just about guaranteed to make you cry is "No," a song inspired by his grandfather's words of wisdom. Those people who are upset that there is not a traditional Christian hymn on this album have to settle for this song about God answering prayers. Songs like "Catch all the Fish" and "The Pants" continue Paisley's tradition of giving out giggles. "Water" is also an amusing song that is perhaps the second most catchy only to the title track. And it is wonderful that Brad pays tribute to his wife with "Then" and to his sons in "Anything Like Me." All in all, this CD is packed full of variety that allows any country fan to find something they like.

Brad's new album is very solid, and features a wide variety of great music. In general, there is still some light humor, but the material here is a little bit more serious than some of his previous "Ticks" type releases -- although that isn't necessarily a bad thing. It starts out with a feel-good summer type song, "American Saturday Night", and ends with "Back To The Future" -- a short guitar laden instrumental song, which is similar to some of the music on his last album, 'Play'.

Scattered between these songs are 13 other great ones, including Brad's #1 smash love song, "Then". "Welcome To The Future" is another gem, just waiting in line to become Brad's next #1 single. One of the best songs on the album, it is very catchy, and has strong lyrics that many can relate to. The reprise (track #7) is also a very nice short little acoustic clip. "Water" is another fun summer song, which is very catchy. "Catch All the Fish" has a real bluegrass feel to it, in a way similar to one of his previous songs, "Mr. Policeman".

One of my personal favorites on the album is track #10, "No", which is an extremely powerful song. It's a very traditional sounding tune, with steel guitars and simple laid back production. The song is well written, and carries out a very important message. Overall, I think this album in general has a little slower feel than some of his other CDs, but 'American Saturday Night' has a little something for everyone, and I highly recommend it!!!

Got the CD for my brother who is a guitarist and he absolutely LOVED IT! Said there was great instrumental pieces and artists. Def recommend buying!

I bought this after reading the review of Brad Paisley in Guitar Player magazine. I am mostly into rock and blues, but on occasionally listen to country. Regardless of your musical preference, if you like guitar instrumental albums you will probably like this. He is a great player and you will probably like this album.

This is an album that any guitar player should own. Even if you are not a fan of Paisley's country music(which I happen to love), Paisley showcases his incredible guitar skills on a very eclectic collection that includes jazz, rock, blues, bluegrass, gospel and country. The few songs with vocals are duets with Keith Urban, the late, great Buck Owens, Steve Wariner, and the amazing B.B. King. Paisley also includes a version of "Waitin' on a Woman" (this makes the third cd in a row that includes the song!) with Andy Griffith's parts from the music video.

The amazing thing is that, despite the wide range of musical styles, the album still has a very Paisley-esque sound. If you are looking for your normal Paisley country album, this might not be for you. On the other hand, if you are not a fan of country music, but you are a fan of the guitar, you will fall in love with this cd.

After listening to it once through, I can say this has quickly become one of my absolute favorite cds. Paisley is a guitar monster, and this cd showcases a part of him that is often lost behind his quick-witted lyrics and his fantastic baritone voice. Paisley is as versatile as artist as there is in the music business, and this cd will gain him respect with audiences he would not reach with simply another country album.

I've been a fan of Brad Paisley for several years now, but only a casual one. I love country music, but I like more traditional stuff, like Hank, George, & Loretta, "Outlaw" stuff by Waylon, Willie and Hank Jr., and the more "modern" stuff by Gram, Emmylou, Rodney Crowell and Lucinda. I'm a professional musician myself, and have studied and played guitar for many years. And because of that, I love listening to the masters of country guitar like Jimmy Bryant, Albert Lee, Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed, Hank Garland, Danny Gatton, Vince Gill, James Burton, Clarence White and Brad Davis. Well, now we can add another name to that illustrious list: Brad Paisley.

I have to say, it's disheartening to see so many low-ratings for this album. I can't help but think that a lot of people bought this album expecting something like "Time Well Wasted." Well, I can understand that,(even though Brad and the record company made very sure to highlight it as a "guitar album.") But that doesn't mean it's "bad" music. In fact, it's some of the best music to come out of Nashville in years, and certainly some of Brad's finest work. It's in the great traditional of country virtuoso's, like the guys mentioned above, but with a distinctly modern twist.

Brad shows his versatility in many styles beyond traditional country. He plays a mean blues, gets a beautiful overdriven rock sound, plays jazz inspired by Tal Farlow, and does it all with flawless technique, wonderful phrasing, and great flair. In short, the guy is one of the best guitarists in the world, and he proves it again and again on "Play."

Brad's said on many occasions he was an entertainer, not a musician, and that he wasn't making the "best" music of his generation. Well, I think with "Play," he proved he is capable of making some of the best music in the world. Though I don't know him, I'm so proud of him to take a risk and put out an album like this, rather than rest on his laurels.
"Play" is the kind of record that's fun to listen to, and very enjoyable, but a record that also rewards a deeper listening.
If you're a fan of great music, and great guitar playing, don't miss this one!

The CD was in great condition, it just wasn't the CD I thought it was going to be. Other then that, great and thank you!

We crank this CD up & the kids dance around the house. Since we have watched the movie ALOT, the music scores don't bother me because it reminds me of a certain part of the movie. Its great music!

Perhaps your child is obsessed with the movie. Perhaps he has countless Cars characters that race around the house, Cars books, even Cars underwear. Now the obsession can carry over into car rides! Perhaps your child will even get to the point where they tell you what is happening in the movie while a certain song is playing.
Thank goodness it's such a listenable CD!

My three y/o likes the movie, as well as the rest of the family. We love the music CD even more. Great mix of music. We play the CD often at home and while traveling.

Great CD. Kids soooooo love the first half, the songs. They recall the parts of the movie to the songs. The second half, the score, is good listening. The kids don't get it, but mom and dad know what part they are from.

Cars is one of my all-time favorite movies and ther are a bunch of great tunes in the movie. So if you like them, get this CD. Only unfortunate thing is that there are a ton of tunes from the movie that are a bit boring and they of course are also on the CD.

Almost every song on this CD is really good. I'm glad that it is in my library.

I am a huge Brad Paisley fan, but this is not the best album in my opinion I think his best album was Time Well Wasted. But this album is very well produced you can't beat the tracks but some of the album is not as good as the rest.

Bought this cd for a grandaughter who loves Brad Paisley and she really loved the songs.

It is a great CD. Brad Paisley is a fabulous singer and musician, which this CD reveals in some of his best songs.

Despite the previous reviewer's disappointment in this collection, I think it is quite good. It isn't meant to be a hits collection. It includes a nice mix of Brad's hits and some lesser known album tracks. It's worth buying if only for his spectacular duet with Sara Evans, "New Again." My only complaint is that Amazon, for some reason, hasn't made it available digitally. However, it is available digitally from Walmart MP3.

Come on! This isn't a greatest hits or play list. There are only 4 out of 14 songs worth being on here. Not what I would call a play list or greatest hits. All the other artists like Brad Paisley have a "true greatest hits." Why not Brad Paisley?

I'm not a big Brad Paisley fan anyway. However, I do appreciate some of the songs that he has produced; and I do think he is a respectable artist who deserves a genuine greatest hits package.

My suggestions would be the following: The four which are hits on this one(We Danced, Who Needs Pictures, Two People Fell In Love, He Didn't Have To Be). Also Celebrity, Mud On The Tires, Little Moments, She's Everything, and Whiskey Lullaby. There are probably others that could be mentioned.
This current release is a strange one. I'm not sure what the record label or Brad Paisley is thinking on this one. You've got to be a die-hard-fan to entertain yourself with these non-hit songs.

I definitely don't recommend this release. You might be better off with his "Mud On The Tires" album than this release. Thanks for reading!!

With fifteen songs that tell us about a variety of life's pleasures and problems, presented in a manner that all traditional country fans can enjoy (except for a few diehards who object to electric guitars and drums), this is an outstanding album. Brad reminds me of Alan Jackson, one of the best country singers of the last two decades. Alan clearly approves of Brad as he puts in a guest appearance on one of the tracks, Out in the parking lot. Brad's other major guest is Dolly Parton, who joins Brad on the choruses of the spiritual song, When I get where I'm going.

The love songs on the album cover s wide spectrum of emotions. At one extreme (I'tt take you back), Brad makes clear that he's never going to take an ex-partner back unless a whole series of impossible things happen, among them the requirement for politicians to stop telling lies and state the facts, which is surely much less likely than another of the requirements -the morning sun rising in the west. At the other extreme (Flowers), Brad takes the other side of the same situation, desperate to rekindle the enthusiasm of an ex-partner, presumably a different one from the woman in the other song. Elsewhere, Brad presents happiness (The world, She's everything, Love is never ending) and remembers another ex-partner fondly (Raining you). He shows how much some men will put up with (Waitin' on a woman) but pokes fun at a woman with a house where obviously no man has been (You need a man around the house), vividly contrasting male and female attitudes to some aspects of life.

Brad sings of life as a professional singer (Easy money), explaining how hard life was before music brought him success. He sings of relaxation (Time well wasted), pointing out the importance of finding time for yourself occasionally, which is wise advice for busy people everywhere. He gives an all-too-brief rendition of a gospel classic (Uncloudy day). The first of several country hits from the album (Alcohol) is perhaps the best song on the entire album. Oddly sung from the perspective of the liquid itself, the song reminds us how good alohol can be sometimes and how bad it can be at other times, all presented in a fun way but with a good underlying message.

The bonus track (Cornology) is a piece of nonsense that, if nothing else, shows that Brad likes to have fun. Judging by the lyrics, I'm wondering if this nonsense is part of a series with other episodes tacked on to his other albums as bonus tracks.

A classic of its time, this album deserves to be heard by every fan of traditional country music.

I really like his songwriting and guitar playing. I first saw him in concert in 2008. He is a fantastic showman with tremendous talent.He also dabbles in the video portions of his shows. Plus, He's smokin' HOT! A+++++

This album has two incredible radio songs: Alcohol, and Waiting on a Woman. It also had four brand new songs that Brad Paisley sang with other singers! Alan Jackson, Dolly Pardon, a few others, and even William Shatner sing with Brad Paisley on this album! You will not be disappointed!

I was prepared to not like this album as much as his others because of the lack of radio exposure, but the duets made it more than worth it. You will love this album!

I was charged for this item and as of this date have not received it. Correspondence with Vincent Books has done no good. I should have received it by no later than August 25 and this is September 9. No cd no return of money.

This is a good album of solid classic style country music. I hadn't tried any music by this artist and bought the album without any preconceived notions about it. It's enjoyable. Only thing - it has these tracks that are just a few seconds long with mumbling on them that I don't get and dont like.

So after a good, but not great, follow-up to his awesome debut, I'm sitting there listening to the radio one day when they introduce a new Brad Paisley song...ah man, this means I have to sit in anticipation for another 3 months for a new album??!!...and on the radio comes "Celebrity." I had been a big Brad Paisley fan from the moment I bought his first CD when all he had was one Top 40 hit, but this is the song that made me realize there is no other artist like Brad Paisley. It was upbeat...it was fun...it made me laugh...and it was cool!

Well when the wait was over, I picked up my copy and went home for a good, long listen. The best yet without a doubt! Now, on the Paisley Album Countdown, I'm going to have put it at #3 because he got better, but after listening to hit songs like Mud On the Tires, Little Moments and his haunting duet with Alison Krauss, Whiskey Lullaby, I was wrapped.

Now, in my personal opinion, the hidden gem on this CD is found in "Famous People." "I'm serious about that Ashley Judd thing...I will work for free!" That line still cracks me up. Don't pass up other great ones like "That's Love" and "The Cigar Song" either.

And to top it off, Brad decided to introduce the Kung Pao Buckaroos...which have kept me laughing for several CDs now!

Brad Paisley has done it again! I am a huge Paisley fan because of his more humorous songs, but this album is much more serious. While he does have one hilarious song (Celebrity), this album is filled with amazing songs that are much more heart-felt. I loved the three of them that made it onto the radio: Whiskey Lullaby, Mud On The Tires, and Little Moments. This guy seems to have four amazing hits on every record, but you will love the songs that never made it onto the radio as well!

Paisley is a great musician, one of the more witty song writters around. So not only do you get to listen to good music, but if you pay attention to the lyrics your will end up laughing also. He is a better guitarist than he gets credit for.

Brad Paisley is one of my favorite artist and Mud on the Tires is one of his best Albums. I recommend the purchase of this CD to all Brad Paisley Fans. It is a must have.

This album is a very good collection of songs, sung by a very talented young man. Especially worth hearing is track #9, Whiskey Lullaby, in which Brad is joined by Alison Krauss.

So after "Who Needs Pictures" blew me away, I sat in anticipation for Brad's second album. "Two People Fell In Love" had been released to radio, and I just loved the song. It was such a feel good song that just made you smile. So I was first in line to pick up his second album.

Well, I'm an avid Brad fan, so he can do no wrong in my mind, but I will definitely say I wasn't as impressed with this one as I was his first CD, HOWEVER, it's still an amazing album. Granted, I would rank it #6 on the Paisley Album Countdown, but when they're all good, #6 ain't bad.

"Two Feet of Topsoil" is one of the two so-so attempts on this album, so give it a listen, but don't decide the CD is no good based on that, especially not with what follows... When I first heard "I'm Gonna Miss Her," it started out so soft, but something told me to hold on. The first time you hear Brad break into the chorus, you can't help but bust out laughing. How many guys have ever thought that?

Along with his additional hits, "Wrapped Around" and "I Wish You'd Stay," you get some of Brad's best material like the humorous "Come On Over Tonight" (a guy's admission of love), and "All You Really Need Is Love" (the hardcore truth about wedding planning), as well as the amazing collaboration with three country legends, Bill Anderson, George Jones and Buck Owens, on "Too Country."

It may not be his best, but it's still better than 99% of what's out there, so pick it up and enjoy!

I loved the fishing song! The only reason this album did not get my customary 5 star rating for Brad Paisley is that it seemed to have a few less songs than his other albums, and not as many that made the radio. As always, he surprised me with some great non-radio songs, and it is definitely still worth the money. However, if you have never heard Brad Paisley before, I would look at some of his other albums to be your first buy.

This is Brad at his best. His new stuff tends to be a little naughty, but his older stuff is funny and creative. I personally think this is one of his best CD's.

With "the fishin' song", now my husband who has never been a country fan is hooked. I've been listening to Brad Paisley for a while and think he's an incredible artist who just keeps getting better. This one is from a few years ago, but is great. Can't wait for the greatest hits - but they are all wonderful.

Brad Paisly takes it to a whole new level. Who wouldn't love a good lookin man with a great sounding voice!

I remember buying my tickets to the state fair to go see Brooks & Dunn with Trace Adkins, and then I heard some new guy was opening by the name of Brad Paisley. "Oh yeah, I think I just heard his new song, Who Needs Pictures, on CMT. What the heck, let me go get the album so I'll at least recognize some of his songs." Well, that began my first experience of being a hardcore fan. Sure, I hopped on the Garth Brooks and Toby Keith bandwagons when they were hot (and still like them both), but I bought the CD before I even knew who he was, and since then he's the only person I look forward to buying new music from.

Brad Paisley is country...but not Grandpa's country...he's country with a twist. He keeps it fun, he keeps it entertaining, and then he can knock your socks off with an awesome love song.

His freshman album is still one of his best. I'd put it in 4th place of all Brad Paisley albums. Long Sermon has a fun spring feel to it and it only gets better. Aside from his #1 hits, He Didn't Have To Be and We Danced, you also get Me Neither, which you just can't help but chuckle along with. You'll laugh (It Never Woulda Worked Out Anyway and Sleepin' On the Foldout), you'll cry (Holdin' On To You and Who Needs Pictures), and then you'll start the CD all over again.

If you just recently realized what a phenomenal artist Brad Paisley is, go pick up this one. It's well worth the [...]Amazon wants for it.

I bought this cd for the song, "Me Neither". I wish that track was longer. Very funny. The rest of the cd has some great songs as well.

This is a must have for your collection. I have this CD and I bought it for my friend who just love Brad Paisley but have not bought this one yet.

I absolutely loved two of the titles: Me Neither, and He Didn't Have To Be. This was a great album overall. I love his new stuff more than this current album, but as always, Brad Paisley never disappoints. You will listen to this album over and over!

He didnt have to be was meant for my life as not knowing my birth father but had a dad who was more of a dad then the birth father could have ever been to me. When i gave birth to my firstborn he was the best papa I could have asked for my daughter. I didnt call him ,my dad for years but assure you when the time came right, I surely did and was very proud to call him my dad. Though he is deceased since 2/ 14/ 07 I know he is watching down on me still making sure I do a good job raising his 3 grandaughters. Thanks dad for everything you did for me . Raising me the hardest job than a 40 hour work week, and helping me and caring for me. I love you and miss you. Love, Your daughter.

To my husband: You didnt have to , but you did. You gave her love as you did your own child. You didnt have to. Brad Paisley hit the nail on the head with this one!! This CD has many great songs that capture the spirit of Christmas. One of my favorites is James Penguin. My family really enjoys this CD and it's sure to be a holiday classic in our home.

"A Brad Paisley Christmas" CD is typical Paisley with very unique songs as well as some traditional. A pleasure to listen to and have as background music for holiday parties.

Bought this purely for the song Penguin James Penguin which is a cute, original song. If you are a Brad Paisley fan, you will enjoy this CD.

Aside from your everyday Christmas songs, this also has a song Brad wrote and performed when he was 13. The Kung Pao Buckaroo snag too and that was hilarious. I don't who they are but they are but what a great ending to the CD. This CD adds holiday cheers to our cookies baking and decorating. A very Merry Christmas!
