Bring Me the Horizon

If you are one of the many people like my self who hated bring me the horizon, you need to give this cd a listen. When I heard the tracks of off count your blessings, i hated its generic wanna be death metal sound. This cd is completely different. The style is much different and much better.

The Comedown: 4.5/5-One of the best tracks on the whole cd, very catchy and a good introduction to their new style.

Chelsea Smile: 3.5/5-Ok, a little generic sounding but cool riffs.

If It Was Written In Blood: 2/5-Pretty cool synthesized intro but very boring for the most part.

Death Breath: 4.5/5-My second favorite of the whole cd. Fantastic riffs and intense vocals.

Football Season Is Over: 4.5/5-Short, brutal, and funny. it has a great chorus part "PARTY TILL YOU PASS OUT, DRINK TILL YOUR DEAD. DANCE ALL NIGHT TIL YOU CAN'T FEEL YOUR LEGS."

Sleep With One Eye Open: 4.5/5-Very, very, heavy. One of the best tracks.

Diamonds Aren't Forever: 4.5/5-A heavy catchy track which delivers metal core at it's finest.

The Sadness Will Never End: 4/5-A heavy original sound with SUNG vocals, something bring me the horizon rarely has.

No Need For Instructions, I've Read About Girls Like You On The Back Of Toilet Doors: 4/5-Very short but has an interesting jazz intro, then an insane breakdown into pure insanity, the heaviest track on the album.

Suicide Season: 5/5-THE BEST TRACK on the whole album, and the best BMTH song ever. It goes in and out from melodic to heavy and has very emotional lyrics showing Sykes's best writing talent.

So again, if you used to hate them forget that count your blessings crap and BUY this. It's hard to believe that the same awful band who played "Pray For Plagues" created this cd. Bring Me The Horizon have matured greatly and WILL get better.

idk if i should give this album a chance. bands are getting really predictable with every new cd that spews out. maybe its time to give up on music for a while

I loved "Count Your Blessings" and this CD does not disappoint, It has a slightly different sound than their first one(songs like the last track "Suicide Season") but this is different sound that works for them. Their sound has Matured and it's as heavy as ever. The Breakdowns are sick! and Oli's Vocals will get you Pumped!
My highlights on this CD are "The Comedown", "Chelsea Smile", "It was Written in Blood", "Football Season is Over"...Heck, the whole CD is a Highlight, pick it up, you will not be let down.

I really enjoyed this album. I got to see them 3 days before this came out. The style a bit different from the last album mostly vocals from Oli. It is still heavy and has good hooks. This one hits harder and is good from beginning to end.

my girlfriend likes the band, but i would have to agree..Oli's hair seems to more important than any actual music production. girls have a morbid fascination with this guy. I can't understand why...is it the vegatarian/indie lifestyle or the fact that he is a devout follower of PETA teachings?? and as far as lyrics go, they were probably stolen from a heartbroken, puberty stricken 15 year old boy and his blog friends.

I think this album is definetly worth buying/downloading if you are into the kind of music that melts your face off and makes your ears bleed. I really enjoyed this album and i feel 'Count Your Blessings' is a step up from their last album. The best song on here is (I Used To Make Out With) Medusa. I can't get the song out of my head and it's been constantly playing through my head for over a year now. This cd is REALLY good--- just not the best I have ever heard.

I've been a BMTH fan for a while now, and this cd is by far one of the greatest CD's of all time. There is no one that can scream like Oli Sykes, and the harmonics that are brought forth with the guitars are outrageously great. And yes, these are kids making this music, right around 20 years old, and they are genius's. Not to mention the lyrics are amazing.

actually... i liked this cd. i'll admit that it's a little emo, especially when it comes 2 the lyrics, but if you know the difference between the EP and this CD you'd know how much more mature this CD sounds. the last one sounded like a crappy garage demo. and all i can say is that is band is definitly not scene... unfortunatly its labeled that just b/c "scene" kids listen to it.

From start to finish, Bring Me The Horizon's Count Your Blessings is a whirlwind of brutality, starting with the fan favorite: Pray For Plauges.
CYB blew their debut effort, This Is What the Edge of Your Seat Was Made For, out of the water.
By the time you finish this album, you jaw will have hit the floor.
I highly recommend this album!

I came late to the Bring Me The Horizon fanpool, but I'm glad I came. I have been opened up to all of their previous works because of this album. Tracks like Chelsea Smile and are so wickedly delivered it makes my blood curdle. The vocals and gutter growls are absolutely relentless. Metal at its finest, you can tell these guys aren't American. And I say that with all due respects, Killswitch Engage.

I was way excited to get the new BMTH cd. So, as soon as I had it in my hot little hands, it was soon gone and into the cd player of my car to listen to on the way home.
I had already heard some of my mates singing that hook line from Diamonds Aren't Forever (they learnt it at a concert) so I knew it was going to be catchy.
They had also said that it was very different from Count Your Blessings, but I wasn't concerned. However, after my first listening I was disappointed at how different it really was. But, even though it is different, it was still a really good listen, so it continued playing.
I have now come to love BMTH's new sound, it just seems so much heavier and darker, and Ollie has really put himself out there with the lyrics. The title song, Suicide Season, never fails to bring goosebumps to my arm by the end of the song.

In conclusion:
Different from previous releases, but still amazing. I'm not disappointed with this new sound, and I hope that BMTH continues down this path. Catchy and dark at the same time; brutal.
