Brooklyn Bounce

While I usually feel hesitant to purchase 'Inspired by' CDs, I was pleasantly surprised to find that this CD topped the original Hackers CD. The music on this one was as good and even better! I believe none of the songs were actually in the movie, but the music is similar and full of energy and thump.

A great addition to the collection. If you liked this one or the original hackers, you should also look to purchase hackers 3 as it was my favorite of all series.

If you like electronic music and liked the hackers soundtrack, buy THIS volume. It has a very good selection of music, and not so common tunes from the artists involved. If you are an electronic music fan it's quite possible that you have already many tracks of the first volume. I can't say the same thing about volume two, which in my opinion has a far better selection.

Honestly... buy it NOW. You won't regret it.

I love techno, so I really got into this Album. The mix is excellent, and it makes great music for a party. But if you don't like hard-core techno like Prodigy, you probably won't enjoy this album. Warning: if you play this in the car, you're likely to drive 15 miles over the speed limit! :)

"Hackers" may have been a not-so entertaining movie (to me) but the music that went along with the film was and still is awesome. I only have the first two volumes. I like the original soundtrack slightly more but the second volume is quite good. Either way, "Hackers" has some of the hottest techno acts today, from Prodigy to the legendary Orbital. A former roommate owned "Hackers 2" and I immediately fell in love with it. Gotta love the Emirion Mix of Prodigy's "Firestarter". I wasn't big on the original version of "Firestarter" but I thought the Empirion Mix gave the song a much added energy that the original version was lacking. Plus the remix is a lot more danceable than the original version. "Hackers 2" was my first introduction to Brian Transeau (aka BT). The same can be said about Chicane. I just loved Luce Drayton's "To Be Loved" (Disco Citizens R+D Edit). Luce reminds me quite a bit like dance diva Jan Johnston. I wasn't really wild about the intro to Orb's "Toxygene" but once I got passed the samples, I got into the actual song. I just could have lived without the cluttered noises in the beginning. I think Leftfield's "Original" is one of the sexiest songs around thanks in part to Curve's Toni Halliday. "Original" certainly has a trip hoppy element to the song. I wasn't really crazy with the original version of David Bowie's "Little Wonder" however I thought the Danny Saber Dance Mix made the song much more interesting (just like the Empirion Mix of "Firestarter"). I wasn't too big on Scooter's "Fire". It just wasn't one of my favorite songs on the cd. Overall "Hackers 2" certainly is one of my favorite soundtracks that uses today's hottest techno acts around.

Without a doubt, this cd is the BEST electronica album all time, encompassing (almost) all the best trance/house/dance/techno artists around, utterly blowing away the other two Hackers cds.

Note: My burnt version of the cd does not have "Go", by Moby, which is a great song, and only adds to the greatness of the soundtrack.

Firestarter (Empirion Mix) - Prodigy

My Comments: The first song on the cd is a hard-hitting, eight minute mind-blower that every other cd revolves around. Although nothing like the original Firestarter, the Empirion mix is no less, if not more, incredible. I can't say much about this song, except that you have to listen to it In all aspects, it is flawless, if not perfect.

Toxygene - Orb

My Comments: A great song, by one of the most well known techno artists in the industry! This song has heavy bass is one of the most original electronic songs I've ever heard. It's could almost be considered a "classic" Notice: just because you like this song, don't go buying Orb's other cd's! Their other cds are nothing like this song (mostly), and you may (or may not) like their other albums.

Little Wonder (Danny Saber Dance Remix) - David Bowie

My Comments: One of the best dance songs on the cd! Hell, it IS the best dance song, even though I don't like it too much. I never thought anything with David Bowie in it could be cool, and except for this one song, nothing can, anyway.

Fire - Scooter

My Comments: One of Scooter's best songs OF ALL TIME! Even though every one of the Hacker's songs are great party tracks, this is the one that IS THE BEST. If the Bowie remix doesn't get people dancing, this'll get them jumping, and if they don't in any way positively respond to this song, they're dead. Notice: If you like this song, go get all of Scooter cds.

Narcotic Influence 2 - Empirion

My Comments: Incredible. Possibly my favorite song on the cd. This has a cool, smooth lasting appeal that truly does border on the edge of having a narcotic effect on one. Although not EVERYONE will like this song, many will, but some may find it a bit boring. My friend said,"It's like a boring version of the Firestarter remix, except without any climaxes." Well, both songs are done by the same artist, Empirion (The Firestarter remix is really nothing like the original song!), and admittedly, although it is nothing bad, alot of his songs are alike

Remember - BT

My Comments: I guess every song on this cd wins one sort of award or another, and this wins for MOST BEAUTIFUL SONG. It is entrancing, heart-felt and driven by incredible female lyrics. Some, (only those with immature music tastes) may find this unnappealing and mellow, (I even did at first!) but I beg to differ! This song is fast paced with tons of electronic elements in it, and BT is (in my opinion) the best electronic artist to blend female vocals with electronica. This is a perfect song.

Go - Moby

My Comments: What can I say? It's a great dance song, nothing spectacular or remarkable, but nothing bad about the song, either. I'm not the biggest Moby fan, and I enjoy a lot of his music, and this is one of the party tracks that he's most well known for. (Next to. . . Bodyrock, perhaps.)

Inspection (Check One) - Leftfield

My Comments: This wins the coolest song on the cd award. Combining heavy bass and head-nodding rythm with brilliant electronic aspects, something which Leftfield does best. This is, IMO, Leftfield's best song they have ever made. In FACT, this is my second favorite hip hop sort of techno that I've ever listened to (Smartbomb, by BT, my number #1)

Cherry Pie - Underworld

My Comments: What can I say? It's Underworld, and this is the only place (I think) where you can get this masterpiece. It doesn't, in any way, change or redefine Underworld's image, only refines it, definetely one of my favorite songs by them. Not everyone will like this song, as many don't prefer Underworld's kind of electronica.

To Be Loved (Disco Citizens R-D Edit) - Luce Drayton

My Comments: I don't know who the hell Drayon is, but it's still a pretty good song (I'd hate to hear the original version!!). Actually, it still gets a really high rating, but is probaly the least best song on the cd, the female vocals and entire song being enshadowed by BT's massive Remember track. If you like this song, you'll like Remember alot more. That's all I can say.

Speed Freak (Moby Remix) - Orbital

My Comments: Definetely the fastest, wildest song on the soundtrack. There is no other techno song like this, by anyone. (Except, of course, for the original song. If you like this, you'll like Moby, but you still might not like much of Orbital's stuff. (I didn't like In Sides, although Middle of Nowhere was one of my favorites). My friend thinks this song is freaking awesome, and it is.

Get Ready To Bounce(Radio Attack) - Brooklyn Bounce

My Comments: What the hell is a "radio attack"? I guess they mean "radio edit", but anyway, it's still a great song, keeping up the pace near the end of the cd. My friend and I call it the "Kool-aid" song, because it sounds like the song off a koolaid commercial. (Although this song came out, like four years before the commercial, so we should be calling the koolaid commercial the brooklyn bounce commerical!)

Offshore (Disco Citizens Edit) - Chicane

My Comments: An entrancing, soothing song which was smartly left for the near-end of the cd. Incredibly beautiful, almost as beautiful as Remember. (Even though the two songs are NOTHING alike!) Although surprisingly short, even shorter than most pop songs, which I thought was odd, I still loved it, and still do love it, although I not crazy over it like most of the other songs.

Original - Leftfield

My Comments: At once haunting and beautiful, with the dreary, smooth female lyrics making the song a definite legend. That's about all I can say about this brilliant track. Listen to it yourself, and you'll find out why it's so good. Maybe that is because no other electronic sounds anything like it. . .

Ever sense i first heard Brooklyn Bounce, i loved it. I havent heard "The Biginning" yet, but i'm just about to buy it so i can't rate it yet..but i bet it will be a high rating.

Techno is great 2 listen 2 even if u don't like 2 dance! Youll love this cd if u love techno! This is one of the best techno CD's I have lisened to!

I first heard "Get Ready To Bounce" on the "Hackers" 2nd soundtrack and just had to have they're full cd. This is probably one of the best cd's I've ever bought. High energy music that just screams to be danced to. If you like Techno and Dance you'll love this cd.

Today i just listened to the music and i say it is more than a five star music it is a 9 and if i can get the cd for free i will be happy thanks for lising.

Brooklyn Bounce it's one of the most successful trance & techno groups worldwide. Brooklyn Bounce are German music producers Double M and D-Bone, they only work in the studio making the beats there for they are not part of the Brooklyn Bounce live act. Instead, the group was fronted by several different vocalists and dancers throughout the years. The most memorable include René "Diablo" Behrens, Ulrika Bohn, Alejandra Cuevas-Moreno and Stephan "Damon" Zschoppe. BB's music is so sick, I have never heard music like this, the remixes are awesome. This Collection comes with 2 discs, disc 1 contains original or album versions of their greatest hits, while disc 2 come loaded with the best remixes of their songs. This collection it's truly a must have, not just for Brooklyn Bounce fans but for techno music fans anywhere.

This is an incredible album. The song "Listen to the Bells" is one of the best I've ever heard, from Brooklyn Bounce or any other group. I heartily recomend this CD to any and all..... Brooklyn Bounce fans or not, this is just incredible.

I definitely recommend this CD for anyone that is "into" dance. I especially like the second song, Contact. They recorded the actual sound of the transportation device that was in the movie "Contact". It is totally awesome! Buy this CD! I assure you, you won't be disappointed.

This is the real PROGRESSIVE music! No one famous night club in Russia doesn't miss this project. Their first album is great! I've got their second album and it didn't dissapoint me. Right now I'm listening to Bounce's CONTACT on my cd-player and it's really great!

Since 1996 Brooklyn Bounce has yet to stop making the best of their own type of dance music. Alex, Ulrica, and Diablo are the face of Brooklyn Bounce (this time around) and the producers are Matthias Menck and Dennis Bohn. Let's see if this album is as good as you'd expect...

02 Born To Bounce (Music Is My Destiny) (Video Edit) - 3:44 - Their second single contains awesome beats, and bass, melody could use some work...lol an awesome opening track filled with energy, everything you'd expect from Brooklyn Bounce!!10/10
03 Are You Ready For The Bazz? - 4:30 - Good progressive vibe coming from this song, and it doesn't shy away from vocals!! not too long not too short, perfection?? not quite, but still good. 8.5/10
04 Club Bizzare - 6:53 - Their third single and probably the main reason you're reading this review is for this song. However, the version included on the album is not the same as the version you may have previously heard! So be careful and buy the single first, the album is still awesome just this song isn't quite as good. 7/10
05 Sample Slayer - 5:07 - Similar to Are You Ready For The Bazz? maybe even a little bit better, tons of awesome beats will keep you coming back for more. Even better than the album version of Club Bizarre! 8.5/10
06 We Are Electric - 3:48 - Good, but kind of boring and repetetive. At least the song isn't that long. Not that bad, an average album track. No frills. 7/10
07 No Compromise (Just Music!) - 6:44 - Seriously no compromises hear... just awesome music!! This is one of the best songs on the album. Great for clubbing :D 9.5/10
08 Take Me There - 6:55 - More melodic than most of the other tracks. Another awesome track, it bridges the melodic vocals and the progressive beats together really well! 9/10
09 Bass, Beats & Melody (Video Edit) - 3:44 - Their first single off of this album. And is certainly one of the best tracks on the album!! This song wonderfully blends the bass, beats, and melody into one killer song!! 10/10
10 French Bounce - 6:00 - Pretty boring, no frills song here. Well, it's not horrible just not that great either. It's instrumental. An average track. 6/10
11 The Dawn - 5:46 - Quite possibly the best non-single track on this album!! It's actually quite similar to most Brooklyn Bounce singles! And if it were a bit shorter it probably could be mistaken as a single!! 10/10
12 If You Wanna Ride (Honey, Honey, Honey) - 3:00 - hehehe... This song always makes me smile. Why? A dance group doing a RAP song?? Well surprisingly it isn't that bad. I actually enjoy this better than most rap songs on the radio these days. Although this song does have some profanity in it... so keep it away from children!! 8/10
13 Superassbassmother - 6:37 - Again this song does contain some profanity! But anyway the song itself is pretty good some nice progressive trance elements added to it. 8/10
14 My Roots - 3:28 - Who's roots? Well, it's never really made clear but Diablo sings the songs few vocals. It's really not that great and should proabably be avoided... 4/10
15 Essential Vibes - 4:55 - These vibes are definitely essential! One of the best songs on this CD!! Probably the best instrumental track on the CD as well!! 9.5/10
16 Hell Is A Dancefloor - 4:23 - Harder than most of the songs on the album, and if you consider the 'H' word as a bad word than again some profanity on this track. 8.5/10
17 Born To Bounce (Music Is My Destiny) (An Acoustic Reprise) - 2:30 - A surprisingly beautiful unplugged version of the song. Although it does get really boring as they only say the chorus "Music is my destiny, My escape from reality", but luckily the instrumentation will keep most listeners glued.

As an added bonus Radikal Records decided to release an extra mulimedia CD with the album featuring three videos for the singles! The videos are in awesome quality and are in MPEG form! Here's a review of each video:

01 Bass, Beats & Melody Video - 3:44 - Nice video, no real plot involved (but not many Brooklyn Bounce videos do have a plot). It's basically just them in a fake city. Cruising around in their car, going in elevators... 7/10
02 Born To Bounce Video - 3:41 - The video takes place in some kind of green house or something... Sadly the girls look rather freaky :( I think the mood they were going with was scary. I mean the girls look pretty scary, and it's pretty scary when they tear a doll apart and destroy a car... oh well. 7/10
03 Club Bizzare Video - 3:47 - YES!! The single version of this song!! Arguably the best song on the album the video is bright and colourful. It even includes the actual producers spinning some vinyls. The Plot?? umm... everyone wearing red leather and breaking some large ice pieces. Not the best video ever created, but better than the other two videos. 8/10

Overall, this isn't the best version of the album available, but this is probably the easiest to get a hold of. So this album is definitely recommended to all Brooklyn Bounce fans!! Their is a "Special Edition" that was released for a limited time in Germany that also includes a megamix and some additional remixes on the second CD along with the videos. It also features the single version of Club Bizzare!! If you can find that version than you've got the best version. But either way just buy it, it's awesome!!

Wow all i can say is this is really the best CD ever. #4 is the best song on the CD... there is nothing that i dont like about this CD because it is the BEST

Brooklyn Bounce has always been one of my favorite house artists, and this cd lives up to their prior reputation as creators of awesome hard house music.
"Restart" has some really good beats, and many of the tracks are ideal for DJ's. "Born To Bounce" and "Bass, Beats, Melody" both provide excellent mix of hard beats and vocals, along with great tunes. "Sample Slayer" has a great disco rythm, parts of which remind me of the Blade theme song.
The reason I didnt give the CD 5 stars is because some of the tracks are not quite as good. I found "If You Wanna Ride" ouright annoying. And some of the tracks have really nothing to set them apart.
Still, my overall opinion of this CD is very strong. It has some truly awesome tracks which I sometimes find myself listening to several times in a row. Bottom line - buy it if you like house music, but dont expect all of the tracks to be awesome.
