Capleton is by far one of the best modern reggae artists. on this Cd he drops pure crazy lyrics backed up wit some sik riddims and nuff energy. WHO WAN RAMP!!!???

This Capleton best album in my estimation. The song "Stand Tall" is one the greatest reggae tunes ever. When you hear that tune you just can't stand still. "Love is Coming at You" is exceptional as well. When I first heard "Final Assasin" the single I was like what nonsense is this (predestination?). After a while I just started to love that song (what will be, will be). I love how Burro Banton rides that particular riddim too. Bun Babylon! More Fire, cyah tire! I disagree with Capleton on many issues but he remains one of best raggae artist around.

Prophecy was the first album to come out of Def Jamaica Recordings in 95. This album is a staple Dance hall album. Capelton is a genius infusing the traditional spiritual base of Roots Rock and the hard hitting beats and delievery of Dance Hall. This CD is most definetly worth a listen.

There have been some better reggae records made, but Prophecy deserves as much props as any. Powerful, insightful and JAMMIN'! A record that sounds as good when I am having my tea on a Sunday morning as it does when I am blasting it in my Jeep on Saturday night(Record seems like it was made for sub-woofers). Best of all, it is completely devoid of the poisonous negativity & slackness you get everywhere else. A masterpiece by The Prophet that is sure to Rock & Uplift. It is a waste of time to try to point out the highlights, since I will just be pointing out every track. The added remixes are annoying, hip-hop butcherings that really sound dated, but people who like hip-hop tend to be impressed.

I am telling you get this album from Capleton if you are a true Rasta, cause this guy reveals a true rasta Destiny. Nuff respect to de man capleton. BooYaka!

I really enjoyed this cd and like to play it loud. The disc opens up with the powerful and highly listenable Tour and moves through a list of quality dancehall.

I love the rasta drums in Babylon Judgement and Chant. Glorious Morning is just a cool track. Capletons vocals work in perfect unison with the music. The wind-sounding instrument played on this track adds a free spirited feel to this rather powerful song as well.

All tracks are noteworthy, but I will not waste your time. Go and get this one. You will be happy you did.

Just a really powerful dancehall release.

My friend recently put me on to Capleton and ever since then I've been hooked on his music. Prophecy is the most powerful album I have heard in my life!! My favorites are Tour, Big Time, Heathen Reign and No Competition. The hip-hop remixes are wicked as well. Don't sleep on his hidden track either. 'Nuff Respect Capleton!!!!!!

Personally I like More Fire and, yes, Prophecy more than this album (despite the unncessary hip hop remixes tagged on the end of Prophecy). But this CD is completely worth having. No Man Can Save No Man is one of my favorite Capleton tracks, The version of Original Man featurting QTip and the classic Lou Reed/Tribe sample is slamming. I really couldn't care if it was some Def Jam crossover marketing scheme, that sht is super fresh. And Baylon a Use Dem Brain with Sizzla is a great track. Anything involving Sizzla in his early days is quality.

Well I'll point out something on a different note. If your looking to pick up a dancehall album for the first time. Then put this one down and get his first album. It was more geared for yo hip hop kids looking to expand past the Bob Marley Legend album. This album is deeper in message. Plus the 1st album can help build your Lil' Jon Collection up some.

This is the second album done by Capleton since changing his ways from a slack Dancehall deejay to a conscious Bobo Shanti and sometimes still slack deejay. I-Testament was released by Def Jam, along with the album before it, and it is infused with hip-hop of the mid-90's era for that crossover appeal. It does work well in most cases, and while of course not being his strongest or best album, it is a good one. My favorite track here is Raggy Road which has some really great lyrics over a hot hot riddim. Some of my other favorites are Babylon A Use Dem Brain with fellow Bobo artist Sizzla, Steep Mountain, and the intense Stop The Coming done over some wicked bhangra Indian riddim... I remember listening to it over and over again when I first heard it. Q-Tip does a nice collaboration with Capleton on Original Man, Hurts My Heart has a nice R&B/Hip-hop flavor... and there other good tunes. Bottom line, if you are a Capleton fan this is a good album to include in your collection. If you are just a casual listener of Capleton you are better of sticking with his later albums or finding some of these tracks on a Greatest Hits or compilation collection. De fiyah get hotta den dis y'know.

Capelton's reasonings speak pure truths and wisdoms. From the slicky R&Bish "Origional Man" and "Hurts My Heart" to the unmistakably Capelton riddumz like "Mark of the Beast" and "Nah Bow," it's clear why Capelton would have risked his new fan base to record with the unquestionably hip-hop label, def-jam. Capelton has, and has had, enormous talent and abilities; as well as many intelligent business tricks up his sleeves. No doubt he'll continue to show us what he is hiding, and it will prove fruitfull for himself and his intent, devoted listeners.

Once again Capleton brings his creativity to a climax and comes out with another dope CD. It's a little different from the last one, but as usual he comes correct. His lyrics are on point and he has wicked beats as well (unfortunately a combination rarely found these days). It's another classic.

I'll just get to the point; this CD was a waste of time. First of all it covers a period only 3 records: Alms House (1 track), Prophecy (3 tracks), & the weak I-Testament (6 tracks). There is a mediocre 1993 single thrown in, which leads me to the second problem - only 11 tracks. The Prophet's work really began to soar in the late '90's, after the covered period, so most of the best was yet to come(& is still coming!). Despite this, there are some really good tracks here: Alms House & anything off of Prophecy ('Leave Babylon' still gvz me goosebumps affa all deez yrs). You are, however, wasting your time if you buy this CD even if you have no Capleton at all. I recommend starting out with Prophecy - 12 Amazing tracks with 3 re-mixes to boot. Dis will get yo' fiyah burnin'.

Capleton is one of the very few artists that seem to get better as his career goes along. That's not to say that this album which catches the prophet in the middle of his career is not a good album. The Best of Capleton showcases Capleton in his earlier post rude-boy status, and really has some of his better tracks of the time. The album's best is easily Tour, which besides Who Dem? might be my favorite Prophet song. Also check Almshouse (his actual conversion tune), Old and Young, Wings of the Morning, Leave Babylon and of course Babylon a Use Dem Brain with Kalonji from the Black Woman & Child album. By the way the tune "Leave Babylon has one of the wickedest hooks I've heard in a long time, but that is one of Capleton's strengths, see How it Ago from Still Blazin' and Twist and Turn from the underground Brickwall album Forces of Nature (an album with Sizzla). Overall, I say for the price, you can't beat this one with a bat, very very good cuts, even the sleeve is good, offers a great overview of Capleton's career. I'd recommend this one to maybe newer fans: older fans will probably know every tune by heart.

This is great and all, but if you buy this, you are doing yourself a dissservice. To be perfectly honest, any wise man know that Di Fireman is the best, so might as well buy his whole record collection, and not just his greatest hits. jah bless

I am a big reggae dancehall fan this is cd is one of his best. I recommend this to anyone who love dancehall reggae.

I'm going to make this review short and sweet because there is little to be said that hasn't already been said. I think this is Capleton's best album, he uses some awesome riddims, you might recognize them from some Sean Paul songs or Richie Spice's "Ghetto Girl."

Definitely check this out, you won't be disappointed. There isn't a single song on this album that doesn't make you want to start blasting his music and dancing.

If you're just getting into reggae/dancehall, this is a great place to start!!!

Capleton has been in the buisness for a while, and I have to say this is one of his best albums of all time. Its not up there with More Fire or Still Blazing but its close. He's a true bobo Rastaman that uplifts your spirit with his wicked riddims and tough lyrics. He's sending messages through his music just like Anthony B, Sizzla, and Luciano. I would highly reccomend this CD for any fan of Reggae Dancehall music

I am a great appreciator of Capleton's fire and power. I don't agree with his occasional highlighting of homosexuals as the prevailing sign of human corruption. For the record, I see unfettered capitalism with it's corollary greed and exploitation of human/mineral/animal resources as infinitely more harmful than how people choose to express their gender/sexuality. I'm pleased to hear Capleton, on Reign of Fire, focus on global matters and cease his indictment of people who are, for the most part, unable to defend themselves from prejudice and abuse. It's important to note that his latest VP release, "Reign of Fire" avoids any mention of that subject that has some attempting to silence him. There's no coded language, no blatant reference. Nothing at all. Relax the repression of Capleton and enjoy the vibes as he chants down babylon.

Capleton is one of the most vibrant artists of any musical style performing today. I often wonder what a collaboration between Capleton and Angelique Kidjo, Carlinhos Brown, Femi Kuti or, better yet, Immortal Technique might sound like. I can imagine a musical incendiary device that the could reach rabble-rousing proportions. When King Shango says "That Day Will Come" you know he means it. And it's easy to feel inspired to join Capleton's Army. He's right when he says "They will never share" which is why he has to bun dem. Yes Iyah!

Reign of Fire is a brilliant album but I fear that most listeners don't really want Capleton to grow. If you want pure Fyah tracks I think that More Fire and Still Blazin' are more effective demonstrations of Capleton in that style. You can even look to "The People Dem" for the incessant fyah blazing. On Reign of Fire, you'll find 7 recent hits and 15 brand new tracks! This is not another singles compilation. This is a focused effort to speak directly to the audience that he understands so well.

Reign of Fire has no shortage of brilliant moments ranging from hardcore Ragga to Dancehall Roots ("Real Hot", "Jah Is My Everything", "Remember The Days"). Almighty also ventures occasionally into a delivery that you'd more likely expect from Luciano or Bushman, with the mellow roots tracks. Capleton lacks the vocal depth/range of Luciano or Bushman but appreciators can quickly get past that to feel that righteous Rasta spirit that the subject matter needs to push into the proper zone of righteous upliftment. Capleton means every word he says, he's the ideological heir to Peter Tosh's legacy. You'd be wise to buy it today.

Like he always chants, big riddim for big tunez..Then if that is what you are looking for then Reign of Fire is the album. Big conscious riddims in this CD, like Ton Load (One For The Road Riddim) and The Leader Let The People Down, Jah Is Everything, That Day Will Come (Hard Times Riddim), Never Share - Burn Dem (Forever Loving Jah Riddim). He also included some dancehall tunez, Who You calling Nigga; a very interesting and unique tune, Or Wah ( Renaissance Riddim) and one of the biggest summer dancehall tune, In her Heart (Chrome Riddim).Also got some for the ladies or let's say romantic, Sunshine Girl and Remember the Days, RtD is Wicked.

If you are looking for Dangerzone,Bun Dung Dreddie, or Couyah Couyah type of songs you won't find them in this CD.

Conscious vibes from the Fire Man himself, The prophet is reigning and still blazing more fire..Great CD. The Prophet still keeps the fire burning.

Capleton "done" went back to the formula that worked so well for him on the More Fire and Reign of Fire albums. This new joint is just as hot as those two albums and doesn't disappoint on the prophetical messages which characterize his entire body of work. If you are a Capleton-ite as I am, this is definitely one you will want to add to the collection.

This cd is good. I agree with the earlier review there was no beenie man and no ladies on there. I was looking for Lady saw . However , if you dont really understand reggae that much you might not want to buy it. This is dancehall , hardcore reggae and can be abit dirty. HOwever it is a good cd.

There is a problem with this record, much the same problem that it had on last year's version. The problem is that if you are a deep listening, dancehall reggae nut, you already know all these tunes, and may even own most of them as singles already. However, if you are not an aforementioned dancehall nut, then this record might just be perfect for you. The dancehall version of Strictly the Best this year has alot of the favorite artists going today including Sean Paul, Buju Banton, Bounty Killer, Capleton, Sizzla, and Mad Cobra. And the tunes they pulled from the artists are arguably their biggest tunes of the year; Sufferah from Bounty Killer, Press Trigger from the snake and Tallup Tallup from Elephant Man. My favorites on the record are Sufferah of course, Wah Dat Fa by the underappreciated Baby Cham, very good tune and How It Ago by the fire man. My absolute favorite tune here however, is Fitness, by Bounty Killer and Angel Doolas, very slack tune, but just a really good, dark sounding tune. Capleton and Sizzla also both go the slack route with Tek It Off and Come On respectively (Sizzla not so much so as Capleton, but Come On is a really crazy sounding tune. I also like Highet Level by Elephant Man. The last track which is very out of place here is Jah is Always There by Warrior King, which VPRecords obviously put on this one to promote Warrior King's new record, Virtuous Woman, (which is awesome by the way)and it is a great track, but like i said much out of place. Overall, like i said, if you aren't too familiar with Dancehall this year, then by all means get this one, its a very good sounding album. Only complaint to VP, no Beenie Man? No woman DJ?
