Carrie Underwood

For most artists, putting out their sophomore album is one of the most trying times in their career. Many artists second albums pale in comparison to their first, both artistically and in sales figures. Carrie Underwood's second project, Carnival Ride, breaks through the stereotypes and is poised to eventually sell more and become more respected than the previous album, Some Hearts. Vocally, Carrie has become more talented on this record, if that is even possible. All of the songs on the album were hand selected, with Carrie even co-writing a few, and it is obvious that much thought was given to the tracks on the album. This is a stand out and one of my favorites in mainstream country music today!

this is a great country album. i don't like country and have a hard time listening to it, but lately i have been doing my best to dive into the genre of country music and give it an objective listen. this is a fantastic album for everyone; especially first time listeners of country.

and SHOUTING and bad tone? i have listened to this album in full tonight about 2 times and there is no shouting and she is perfectly in tune with her songs. i listen to a LOT of music, i was once a dj. there is no shouting.

anyway, i guess everyone is entitled to their own opinion. carrie is truly a phenomenon. i just love her. if you like carrie, you will probably like taylor swift as well.

After the first listen, Flat on the floor, Just a dream and Last name were the standouts. But just like the first CD there are 7 good to great songs as All american girl, So small, Twisted and Get out of this town are pretty damn good country/pop songs. Just a dream is a haunting, haunting song that became even more so after seeing the video, powerful is an understatement. I thought Some Hearts was a solid A- CD and so is this one a solid A-. Would love her to do a bluesy country type album as she has the chops for it and for anyone to suggest she is overrated and is only where she is because of her looks, is laughable. Girl has some "skillz" and can out sing any singer in this weeks top ten which is loaded with non-singers who talk and don't really sing or make any sense.

carrie underwood is so beautiful an she sings like an angel this is an excellent cd. i really like the more boys i meet song and just about all the others too. i would like to see her and the singer from evanesence do a crossroads on cmt it would rock my world. booya

This cd is unbelievable and deserves all the kudos and awards it has received. Carrie Underwood's first cd was a powerhouse seller and also garnered her critical acclaim and tons of awards. But as with any artist it is the second release that showcases their creativity and true talent.

This cd far surpasses the first, which I loved, in song selection, vocal performance and interpretation and Carrie proves herself a true unique talent with her own special gifts.

I can put this cd in my player and let it run over and over for there is no filler here for me. But there are certainly some highlights. ALL AMERICAN GIRL allows Carrie to hit some notes never heard before. Her interpretation of I TOLD YOU SO is heartfelt and very much her own. But it is the standout I KNOW YOU WON'T a weepy ballad that Carrie turns into raw emotion that will stun you. She holds notes forever and puts all her range and capabilities into it. I find this song as much a classic as Linda Ronstadt doing DESPERADO. Of course the uptempo FLAT ON THE FLOOR and LAST NAME are awesome.

I am thrilled with how openly Carrie Underwood has been accapted into the country music community for she is what the genre stands for. A true country girl with talent, charm and unique gifts with a very honest, positive message. Her career is laid out for her. She is one of the rare finds of this decade.

Carrie Underwood rules.

Dolly Parton? Johnny Cash? Yeah, they suck. Carrie Underwood is the real deal. She has so much passion! Every song sounds so different, and they are all amazing. Screw the haters, she is a true country music legend!

Wow. Carrie's debut CD, Some Hearts, is an A+ debut. Every single track is great, a fact I can apply to hardly any other CDs. This is also one of the few CDs I actually own (not in digital form)- it's that good! Carnival Ride is pretty good as well, but Some Hearts is (so far) the best of Carrie's work.

I have watched this movie many time with my grandchildren and by myself. It is just a feel good movie and very entertaining. I would recommend this movie to everyone.

I bought this DVD the day after I saw the movie in theatres. Truly, the songs are enchanting and I am happy so many of them were nominated for the Oscar's "Best Song". They are in true Disney fashion with just a hint of tongue-in-cheek. The instrumentals are lovely as well, but not nearly as great as the songs. However, this is worth Amy Adam's lovely voice.

My whole family truly enjoyed the movie, "Enchanted" and we really wanted to be able to sing the wonderfully addictive songs. I purchased this CD to listen in the car with my daughters and we sing like crazy. They frequently ask to bring the CD into the house so that they can sing and dance at the same time. It is a really fun CD for the kids and the adults. Very cute.

If you loved the movie like my wife and I did, and loved the music, you'll love this disc. If you didn't love the movie (or the music), then this probably isn't the right purchase for you. If you haven't seen the movie (or heard the music), I would suggest you see the movie first. Then make up your own mind.

If you enjoyed the movie, the CD is awesome! All the tunes bring back that silly happy feeling you had while watching the movie. My children especially love it and I am excited that they have the exposure to theatrical show tunes!

All songs are new and very good. It's a good variety on current artist. Kellie Pickler is outstanding!!

This is a fantastic collection of country Christmas songs; it's one of my new favorites.

This CD has some old recordings on it that sound ok. It's the new recordings that make a difference. Carrie Underwood and Kelly Pickler sound great!

There's a variety of styles and artists here, all pleasing renditions of your Christmas favorites, from cute to spiritual. I would have preferred a song other than "Merry Christmas from the Family," however, which is too silly for the rest of this collection. I like Kellie Pickler's rendition of "Santa Baby" better than Marilyn Monroe's! Alan Jackson's "Let it be Christmas" is one of the best!

i liked this cd it was a good mix of artists songs sung by Carrie underwood!

This song is OK but I expect that Carrie can do better or at least I hope so. America thought she was better than Bo Bice so I am expecting her to prove it with her new CD coming out.

First off I hate country music, but Carrie Underwood is the only exception.Another reviewer said "The next best voice of perfection" and they were right. She has got the sweetest voice and we all know she really can sing naturally and without the help of computers.She sings two songs: "Inside Your Heaven/Independence Day"

"Inside Your Heaven" is her single from American Idol.
Im not sure exactly what the song means but it is beautiful.

"Independence Day" is the song she sang at her audtions and during the show.This is a touching song, it deals with domestic Violence or abuse, but you really have to listen to the words,for those of you who haven't gotten the chance to here the song it is not dark and deppresing, actually it's quite lovely.

I strongly encourage everyone to buy her first album
"Some Hearts".You will get your moneys worth.

Absolutely a positive influence for our young people!!! I cherish her music, what a wonderful young woman with an amazing
voice...whatever she sings!!! The next best voice of perfection!

In my opinion, this was American Idol's best year. Most of the songs are great with 2 exceptions. Constantine and Mikalah Gordon. Constantine's version of "My Funny Valentine" is so amateurish it's laughable and Mikalah's version of "God Bless The Child" is just painful. On the bright side Carrie Underwood, Anthony Fedorov and Jessica Sierra are outstanding.
All in all, a very good CD.

I respect Carrie for giving us some honest lyrics. In a world of glitz, glamor and the sexy, sexy tabloids, it's rather refreshing to hear a singer sing stuff like this.
