Ten years ago I heard Jennifer Lopez's first single "If You Had My Love" on VH1 and really liked it (I later brought the single for this song as well). This led me to buy the "On the 6" because I was really enthusiastic about it (I also had a connection at the store I regularly shopped at who sold the album to me before the release date). Once I put the CD in my computer and later on my Creative NOMAD II MP3 player, songs from this album were in constant rotation. As I look back on it now, I realize that Lopez's voice is annoying and that songs such as "Let's Get Loud", "Feeling So Good", and a few other cuts on this album were really stupid and didn't work. The only non-stupid tracks on the album that actually work are "If You Had My Love" and "Waiting for Tonight"; it is because of these tracks I still own this album no matter how much I regret it. After this experience I realized that I was fooled by the hype this album generated. I haven't been fooled by hype since - knock on wood.

"On the 6" is great. It has everything that one could ever possibly want from an album of music. It has smashing hits such as "If You Had My Love" "Feelin' So Good" "Let's Get Loud" and "Waiting For Tonight". It has heartfelt and elegant ballads such as "Should've Never" "Could This Be Love" "Promise Me You'll Try" "No Mes Ames". As well it also contains more mid-tempo numbers that are resilent against many listens such as "Open Off My Love" and "Talk About Us".

I love "On The 6" and consider it a Masterpiece. Highly Recommend.

This CD is 64 minutes and 18 seconds long. On her first try, the CD is not bad. I will be to first to admit that I am no Jennifer Lopez fan, but she has some decent vocals. The song that I like the most is "Let's Get Loud." When she sings song in Spanish, that is when I lose interest in the CD, because I don't speak nor understand language. Those who are bilingual; are the ones who will like the CD the most.

I have wanted this album since it was released; however, in 1999, I was only 12 and had no money to purchase it. But I am so glad to have it now because it is fabulous! Jennifer Lopez has a great voice and the songs on this CD make you feel good, and they are unforgettable. I really enjoy the singles "If You Had My Love" and "Waiting For Tonight" because they remind me of my younger days--great times. This is a great album for everyone!

This is my first Jlo album ever, yes I have a guilty pleasure of listening to her, I won't lie. Mi cansion favorito, "No Me Ames" or my favorite song is "No Me Ames". It's a sentimental and sad song, translated from a Italian poem, well that's what I heard. And Marc Anthony does the duet beautfiully with Jlo! And another favorite was "Should of Never" and of course, "If You Had My Love" or "Waiting for Tonight" in English and en esponal! Recommended for those who listen to Jlo!

Now 4 remains as one the greatest albums of all time. Thank you for all you have done.

Now That's What I Call Music! 4

This cd is awesome. The music is great and my kids
love the songs. When we are driving down the road
"I hear can you turn it up mom or can you play that
song again?" It has been hours of entertainment for
the family. We enjoy all the Now That's What I Call
Music cds. We have the whole collection accept for
Now 11 we still need that one. If you have not
listened to Now CD's you don't know what you are
missing. You should realy try it. Keep the kids
entertained.

I bought this to pick up a few old songs that I wanted for my IPOD...bought this used and saved $$, cheaper than buying from iTunes.

Backstreet Boys - Larger Than Life: This was a great song to dance too at the club when it came out. A

Britney Spears - (You Drive Me) Crazy: This is my favorite Britney song of all time. Not only is the beat great but it makes me want to sing along. A+

Marc Anthony - I Need To Know: No I don't need to know and this song is just awful I always skip it when I listen to this cd. F-

Mandy Moore - Candy: Great song and great singer. I always did like Mandy Moore's music. A

Eiffel 65 - Blue: This song was awesome; that is all I can say. I loved the song and the music video. This is one of the best songs on the cd. A+

Sonique - It Feels So Good: It depends on my mood with this song. I like the singer but this song was overplayed. C

Lenny Kravitz - I Belong To You: This wasn't one of Lenny's best songs and this song was 2 years old at the time this was released but it is catchy none-the-less. B

Savage Garden - I Knew I Loved You: I liked this song; I danced to it at my wedding reception. It is very romantic. B+

Joe - I Wanna Know: Like the previous song, this is another romantic song that brings back memories. A-

Aaliyah - Try Again: I miss Aaliyah; this was a woman who could sing and the songs were meaningful. I loved this song and I do refer to it from time to time when I am talking with friends. A+

Jennifer Lopez - Waiting For Tonight: This was a good hit for Jennifer. I have to admit the music video was better. B

Montell Jordan - Get It On Tonite: Please don't get it on tonite, this was the second song I didn't like on this cd. Even the music sounded bad. F

Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals - Steal My Kisses: An average song, have no complaints. C

Smash Mouth - Then The Morning Comes: This was another great hit off of their cd. It is catchy and plain addictive. A+

Train - Meet Virginia: I am not a big fan of Train but I did like this song. I liked it the first time I heard it. A-

Macy Gray - I Try: This is the one of two songs I liked by Macy Gray. It is a shame she went downhill after this cd but I still like this song. A

Hanson - This Time Around: I have no comment on this song. Hanson should have given up with the cd previous to this. They don't deserve an F they deserve a Z-

blink-182 - All The Small Things: This was a great song. The beat and the way it went was good enough to buy the cd. A

A step up indeed was Vol. 4 in the Now! series, for with this contribution we recieve almost an entire album of quality songs with very few 'skipable' tracks. Sadly, the first track is 'skipable'. The Backstreet Boys offered some very decent tracks on their sophmore album, but the single 'Larger than Life' was not one of them. It's regurgitating pop/shlop at it's worst and should be avoided at all costs. And to think they had so many good tracks on that one CD alone. Britney serves up a great pop song with Crazy, although the 'Stop' remix for the film was better. Marc Anthony has never been my favortie latin artist, but I have always loved 'I Need to Know' so despite my distaste for Anthony himself, I don't skip this track.

Superstar Mandy Moore, who at this day and age is better known for her acting than her singing, serves up her debut single 'Candy' here and shows us that pretty face aside this girl can sing too. Out of all the pop queen diva's, next to Christina of course, Mandy has the purist voice, deffinatly surpassing Britney and that 'shoot myself if I ever have to hear her sing another song' Jessica Simpson.

There are some questionmarks here and they come in the form of Eiffel 65 and Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals, both of which turn out tracks here that are less than impressive. I never was a far on 'Blue' and until this disc had never heard of 'Steal KIsses' but neither track makes me want to listen. I label these 'Skipable'...

I actually like 'It Feels So Good' mostly becasue it's not average and while it takes a little getitng used to it's still worth the listen. Finally a Lenny Kravitz song I like!!! 'I Belong to You' is a great song and it really showcases Kravitz talent, talent I wasn't privy to until this song. Savage Garden was big with a lot of my girlfriends at the time (both platonic and romantic) and 'I Knew I Loved You' was truly one of the best...plus I have a special place in my heart for that track (some naughty things happened while that track was pumpin').

Some strong tracks by the late Aaliyah (RIP) and a killer track by Montel (love this guy) help round out this album, making it more about the music than any particular genre. And yes J. Lo delivers with 'Waiting for Tonight' which is one of the best dance songs out there, and while some hated it I absolutly loved Trains 'Meet Virginia' for it was our first chance to meet Trian and they are truly one great band. Even Macy is forgivable here for she adds something to this album that no other artist could have...and that's an air of toleration. Notice I didn't list her with the 'sucky' songs for even though I'm not a huge fan of her or 'I Try' I've always respected her talent for what it was even if I just didn't quite get it.

Blink closes us out with yet another great song, though a bit overplayed...but it's Blink and you have to love them. Great collection of the best the year had to offer. Yes some were missed, some great and some not so, but what was shared was still memerable and well worth the storage space.

Now 6 is definetely the best CD in the Now series yet! I love it! Most of the songs are really good. I love ATC's "Around The World", as well as K-Ci & JoJo's "Crazy" because they have great lyrics and music. I also like Jennifer Lopez's song,, as well as Coldplay's and Destiny's Child's "Independent Women Part I", which is really good. Samantha Mumba absolutely has potential, and I really like Incubus' "Drive", because I love the lyrics a lot. But my 3 favorite songs are as follows: 3) Fuel's "Hemorrhage (In My Hands), because the lyrics rock as does the music. 2) 3LW's "No More" because it is just a great song! But number 1 is Crazy For This Girl by Evan and Jaron, because it has awesome lyrics, awesome music, an awesome beat, and Evan and Jaron have got GREAT singing voices!
But there's a downside...'NSYNC's song, even if it's good, is VERY old (1 year and 2 months old when this C.D. was released!), some might find Shaggy's song inappropriate (but I still like it), and I HATE Creed's "With Arms Wide Open", mainly because of bad lyrics, scratchy voices, and horrid music! All the other songs not mentioned here are good.

Still, the upside makes up for the downside very well, and it's a great album for the pop listener, and I highly recommend this.

I purchased Now 6 in October of 2001. I was bored and needed to find my taste in music...now 5 years later and wiser. I've decided to give the run down on each song.

1.Britney Spears-Stronger: I've seen the video for this....it's hookable but doesn't cut it for me..Too popish and repeatitive. She can sing but she put too much in it. Using tech equipment and thunder. Girls who like her or there mom's might go for it lol 3/10

2.Samantha Mumba-Gotta Tell You: When i first heard this song i liked the lyrics. The video made sense also. It's still pop but not popish as stronger. It falls into pop and romantic. Sure I'll let it play. 5/10

3.*NSYNC-Bye Bye Bye: Terrible! Need I say more? So annoying Not surprised one of the member's is gay. 0/10

4.ATC-Around The World(La La la La La): Man...i so can smell sell out..only thing good about it is the beat. This is the type of techno i won't fall for. The lyrics don't even make sense Skip! or maybe i knew where it was on the cd scratch! 0/10

5.Jennifer Lopez-Love Don't Cost a Thing: Ok it's better but can get annoying...they played this song alot for the movie the wedding planner go figure. She sings of how love isn't about money and be loved for free. If she didn't add in of the gangsta style I might have gone for it more. 4/10

6.Destiny's Child-Independant Woman Part 1: Sucks! Sell out for the movie Charlie's Angel's I think they were bored and saw money on the table when they were writing this song 0/10

7.Shaggy-It Wasn't Me: Good music. Good lyrics. Enjoyable. Except the other guy singing like he's from jamaica. 6/10

8.3LW-No More(Baby I'ma Do Right): When this came out. Girls Sing to this song....maybe i'm missing something but it's not for me. They hide there voices from the equilizer. Doesn't cut it for me. And plus I have different thoughts about the lyrics. The lyrics cover for the guys who can get girls just like that. And for the easy girls who sing about guys who are not faithful. Just break up! lol 2/10

9.K-Ci & JoJo- Crazy: I usually skip this song and hardly give it alot of listening. It's ok for when your at school dance and want to have a slow dance with a girl you have a crush on.Too much of the equalizer for the voices. Sure I'll give it a listen. 5/10

10.R. Kelly-I Wish: Sucks because he has the kids go I wish I wish every 15 seconds. Other then that it doesn't give any feeling for me. Gets better after the first two minutes. Lyrics are not bad. I've skipped this track and haven't given it much listening until now. 5/10

11.Backstreet Boys-Shape of My Heart: Good Song. I didn't want to have it played on the radio but they did. I'm not a fan of the Backstreet Boys I'm not much of a boy band listener. But this song is good. Good lyrics. Good music. Surprises me. 7/10

12.Evan and Jaron-Crazy For This Girl: Good Song just as good as track 11. It gives you a feel of a montana dude living in the city and falling for a girl who lives in the next building. He sings of a girl he loves and wonders if she knows or not. The main chorus "Would you look at her she looks at me she's got me thinking about her constantly. but she don't know how i feel. and she carry's on without a doubt. i wonder if she's figured it out that i'm crazy for this girl...i'm crazy for this girl." That's part of the song. Awesome lyrics. Hats off 8/10

13.Coldplay-Yellow: Good Song. I sometimes skip..sometimes play..depends on the mood. Not bad lyrics 7/10

14.Lenny Kravitz-Again: Not bad...same thing as yellow sometimes skip sometimes play. he wonders of seeing this girl again and how he can win with her. 6/10

15.Fuel-Hemorrhage(In My Hands): Perfect Song. I've replayed this song a couple of times. Great song. Surprised i never heard it on the radio....radio has weird taste. 9/10

16.Creed-With Arms Wide Open: Good song but I think differently of the band now then 5 years ago. They broke up due to contract issues....smell's like sell out attitude. Anyway. Good song I still like and still will play...at least better then replaying my sacriface on the radio a billion times during 2001 and 2002.Which is another sign of sellout. Still good song. 9/10

17.Incubus-Drive: Good song for when i'm driving. 9/10

18.U2-Beautiful Day: They played this song in the movie "Bandits" with Bruce Willis. Not bad...but not my favorite now as when it was released. 7/10

19.Everclear-Am Radio: It's ok my friends liked it. I don't know what everclear was doing. Were they singing or giving us a history lesson...I'm all set...end cd 3/10.

In concluding this long review. I hope it gives you future buyers help to decide to buy it or not. In my opinion I think it's just better to download the songs you think you might like or pick up the album itself of the artists. I don't know I feel i shouldn't have bought it now five years later. I should of gotten to know how to download more or buy the artist's album itself. I was 13 and had no taste in music. I've noticed the last half of the cd was starting to skip...possibly since i gave it alot of playing then the first half. In end I give the cd an average 3 stars.

Everclear gives us pop and Backstreet doesn't suck...it's all here on the next in the 'Now!' series, yet another album full of songs you've already heard 100 times and yet for some reason decided to subject yourself again. Yes, it's true no matter what you say, that this is as guilty a pleasure as they come, for you're buying an album full of the same songs that, had they come on the radio, you'd turn off in a heartbeat with most likely a disgusted face and a remark like "not this crap again" or "I just heard this song."

Fast forward to now. Today you buy this album, or if you already own it you put it in your CD player and you enjoy yourself because these are no longer the songs you hate to hear but the songs you long to hear for they remind you of your yesteryears...and that's why the 'Now!' series is so entertaining...because while it may not have seemed it in 1999, this album has staying power.

So this time Britney starts things off, and while 'Stronger' isn't by any means a 'strong' song it's not as horrid as 'Lucky' was and is a decent listen. Samantha Mumba, another one hit wonder, offers us a taste of something good on 'Gotta Tell You' and of course N'Sync rock with 'Bye Bye Bye' which, I don't care who you are you have to love!

There are some blah tracks like ATC's 'Around the World' and the horrid Destiny's Child 'Independant Woman Pt. 1' but their made up for by Shaggy's 'It Wasn't Me' and R. Kelly's 'I Wish'. I'm also a huge 3LW fan and just love 'No More' while I could live without 'Love Don't Cost a Thing' while it doesn't make me skip the track. K-Ci & JoJo make a comeback with the 'Save the Last Dance' anthum 'Crazy' and they score...I mean as much as I try to hate this song I just can't (maybe cuz I love the movie so much).

As I mentioned, Backstreet doesn't suck here. I actually enjoy 'Shape of my Heart'...so sue me.

The rock here is a decent mix, Kravitz resurfacing AGAIN with 'Again' and it's a great song. I can't hate it or diss it in anyway, I've always loved it and always will. Not a huge fan of 'Yellow' as much as I love Coldplay, I just never really cared for that song. Fuel and Incubus are great if not...played out, and Creed is Creed although 'With Arms Wide Open' while huge in it's own respects does nothing for the band really. I don't mind 'AM Radio' I just don't like it. It's too poppy even for Everclear and that upsets me. Other than that the only bone I have to pick with the Now! people is that fact that they really need to mix these better instead of having all the rock at the end, they need to intergrate the genre's. That way we can get everything all at once!

I just love the NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL MUSIC! series. The NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL MUSIC! series are nothing more and nothing less than CD's with a bunch of hit songs on them. It's great for people who only like certain songs and don't feel like wasting money on a whole album when you're looking for only one or two songs from certain artists. It also lets you carry around less CDs so you do not have to carry around your entire CD collection wherever you go! Here's the list of tracks and what I think of them:

"Stronger" Britney Spears - - this is Britney's best song, after "(You Drive Me) Crazy". This song even sounds a bit like "Crazy". [5/5 stars]

"Gotta Tell You" Samantha Mumba - - this is a really cool song! It's a great uptempo, dance song. Samantha Mumba is a great artist with an awesome voice! [5/5 stars]

"Bye Bye Bye" *N SYNC - - blah! This is just about the most annoying track on this whole compilation. [0/5 stars]

"Around The World (La La La La La)" ATC - - this is a great dance song! I love the beat and lyrics. ATC's vocals are pretty good, too. Now this is a REAL dance song! [5/5 stars]

"Love Don't Cost A Thing" Jennifer Lopez - - I just love J.Lo's music and I think she's a great role model. This song is wonderful and one of my favorites on this whole compilation. [5/5 stars]

"Independent Women [Prt. 1]" Destiny's Child - - amazing song. Though it's old now, it's still one of my favorites from Destiny's Child. [5/5 stars]

"It Wasn't Me" Shaggy - - I just love this song. Though I didn't like how they edited the song on this CD...the original version is so much better. But all in all, a fantastic song! [5/5 stars]

"No More (Baby I'ma Do Right)" 3LW - - well, okay, I guess. Definitely not my favorite track, though. I like the song...I just don't like 3LW - they sound like a bunch of whiny babies! [3/5 stars]

"Crazy" K-Ci & Jojo - - good song. It's a sweet ballad. I like the lyrics and K-Ci & Jojo's vocals are pretty good. [4/5 stars]

"I Wish" R. Kelly - - pretty okay. Though really not one of my favorites. [3/5 stars]

"Shape Of My Heart" Backstreet Boys - - definitely the best track on this entire CD! I'm a huge fan of the BSB and their music rocks! This is an awesome song...never gets boring or old! [10/5 stars]

"Crazy For This Girl" Evan & Jaron - - this is a wicked cool song. I just love it. Evan & Jaron's vocals are awesome and the lyrics are great with a cool beat. [5/5 stars]

"Yellow" Coldplay - - well, not the best song. But it's still pretty listenable. This is more of a hard-core Rock song. Great song. [4/5 stars]

"Again" Lenny Kravitz - - this is Lenny Kravitz's best song! I think this is a totally awesome song. Definitely worth a listen or two. [5/5 stars]

"With Arms Wide Open" Creed - - I absolutely hate this song! It ties with *N SYNC's song on my list as being the two worst songs on this entire CD. Definetely skip over this track! [0/5 stars]

"Hemorrhage (In My Hands)" Fuel - - pretty good song. This is definitely better than Creed's song. Cool. [4/5 stars]

"Drive" Incubus - - I'm surprised that I actually love this song. It's a wicked awesome song - even though it's rock - and definitely cool. [5/5 stars]

"Beautiful Day" U2 - - once again, another okay song. This is one of the few worth-while U2 songs. And only because it won a Grammy for Song of the Year. [3/5 stars]

"A.M. Radio" Everclear - - not too great. I liked the Everclear song that was on the NOW 5 CD a lot better than this one. I'm not really a huge Everclear fan, anyways. [1/5 stars]

So as you can tell, for the most part, this is an excellent CD compilation. It is still great to listen to and enjoy. It's a guilty pleasure CD.

This CD is a great, 19-track CD with a cool mix of Pop, R&B, and Rock songs. Definitely a must-have.

ok, I don't care much for the nsync, britney, and destiny's child tracks, as i dont care for them at all. ATC's "all around the world" is probably by far my favorite track. Theyre one of my favorite artists, and if you enjoyed that song, you'll prolly like their album "planet pop"!

J-Lo is a freaking un-real album. It explodes right out of the gate with "Love Don't Cost A Thing" and then continues the high energy right through with "I'm Real" and "Play" all three of which are hits along with "Ain't It Funny" and the "I'm Real (Murder Remix)". But the rest of the album is bumpin' as well with great songs like "Walking On Sunshine" and "Carino". This album has plenty of versatility, when listening one will find gems like the very aching and beautiful ballad "Secretly". Then there are quite sensual moments as well with the ultimately sexy "Come Over". Although I have not gone through every song, trust me this music is brilliant from beginning to end.

A Masterpiece. Perhap's Jenny's best work.

I used to listen to Jennifer Lopez's debut album, "On the 6" all of the time. As soon as I popped in "J. Lo", I immediately noticed a slight improvement in her singing voice. I do not know if she was taking lots of vocal lessons or just matured a lot as a woman during that time, but it is easy to tell that she sounds better when she sings. This album is similar to her debut because there is a huge Latin aura surrounding this album; that is something that I always enjoyed with her albums because since I like R&B, I don't get a chance to hear much Latin music. Of course there is plenty of the pop/R&B sound on this album, but the Latin sound definitely gives her album distinction to other pop artists.

Many of the songs from this album were released to radio. I can remember hearing "I'm Real", I'm Real Remix", "Love Don't Cost a Thing", "Play" and "I'm Gonna Be Alright." All of these numbers help to make this album a decent offering by the triple threat named Jennifer Lynn Lopez. "Love Don't Cost a Thing" and "I'm Gonna Be Alright" both sound a tad like Lopez's first ever song, "If You Had My Love." Why? Because they are all mid-tempo and contain much guitar. Lyrically, this album never gets too profound, but "I'm Real", "Love Don't Cost a Thing" and the beautiful "Secretly" have lyrics that are a little deep. As far as the production is concerned, it is good; there is lots of guitar and some neat drum arrangements found here. "Dame" and "Corino" are definitely highlights.

Add this album to your collection because it can and will set many different atmospheres. You will find yourself dancing, relaxing and/or setting a sexy mood with your object of affection all while "J. Lo" plays.

Yah I liked it, but it's not the greatest album ever. I did like "Aint It Funny", "Love Don't Cost a Thing," and other songs. Well that's all I have to say.

her career is so similar to paula abdul it's not even funny! Both started out dancing. Paula worked with janet jackson in the mid 80's and appeared in her videos, J LO worked with janet in the mid 90's and appeared in a video of hers. Paula Abdul tried her hand at music in the late 80's as a dance-diva and J LO did the same thing in the late 90's. Both of their debut albums Forever Your Girl and On the 6 sold well, and better than their follow up albums. Early 1991, Paula Abdul released Spellbound and early 2001 J LO released J LO. Both of them had strong first singles and their albums fell off the charts pretty fast although both managed to reach 3 million(instead of 8 million and 5 million like their debuts) and have a lot of hits from their albums. Let's not forget to mention that paula briefly did acting as well and J LO is also an actress. This Is Me Again didn't make a dent in the charts and Rebirth was the final nail in the coffin in 2005, just like paula's Head Over Heels. The first single from their final albums both had good videos(My Love Is For Real & Get Right) but by then it was too late and the public already had enough of them. I expect to see J LO release a compilation album by 2010 and appearing as a host or something 10 years from now.

I remember seeing the video clip of JLo's song "Ain't It Funny" and as I recall it set my middle aged heart racing which is a new experience for me considering what they usually show on EMPTY VEE these days. And if you don't like the music this CD is worth buying for the cover photo alone.Ms. Lopez's voice is strong and soars like an eagle on a few of the tracks.PLus next to Catherine Mary Stewart JLO is my favourite actress.This is one very talented lady who has graciously endured all of the criticism levelled against her in recent years and she is still around to prove them all wrong.Jennifer is HOT and if I had lived "down on the block" a few years ago I would have asked her for a date! Naturally 5 stars for this album.

This is definitely a stand out album of music no matter what genre you are interested in. Lopez's vocals have never sounded better and more pure and passionate than on this record. This is truly deep material that is resilient against many listens. You will not grow tired of this record. Every song is elegant and lovely. However, "Sola" is "The Masterpiece" of this Masterpiece.

Go out by this album by Jenny Lo, I know good music and this is great!

Overall I would say this is a good album. Her songs evoke a lot of emotion and the lyrics are good. The only problem is that jennifer's Spanish is a little strange. I speak spanish (not perfect by any means) and when I listen to the cd I can tell that she sings mostly from memorization. She doesnt seem to feel the words as opposed to singing them because she memorized them. There is a halting quality to her words and she doesnt stress them the way that somebody else would.

Great music. Sometimes all we think about is that she can act and we forget that she sings as well. Thoroughly enjoy this CD.

I thought this was a great album. Now, I can't speak to the lyric quality since I don't speak Spanish, but the music is lovely and Jennifer's sound is so much more mature and deep than anything else I've heard from her. Ironically, this is the only JLo album I own. Highly recommended!

This is an excellent sort of bridge album that I think gave Jenny a little more time to invent her next project which came in the form of "This Is Me...Then". This remix album, while in my opinion presents a number of great songs with some very nice re-packaging still leaves me listening to the originals. But hey, that's just a matter of taste. I think anyone who is a fan of Jenny Lo should pick this up and try it out because if for nothing else the remix of "Walking On Sunshine" and "I'm Gonna Be Alright" are stellar re-do's. Along with the orginal first time release of "Alive".

Anything Jennifer Lopez creates is going to be high quality, "J To The L-O" is no different. Highly Recommend.

heres a tip, if you can, try to get the CD that has 50 Cent in the song "i'm gonna be alright" cuz i originally got this CD when it first came out but unfortunately had to sell it due to situations out fo my control. then when i got to buy a new copy, i got what i THOUGHT was the same as the one i sold(not exactly the same, just a new copy) but unfortunately i was a bit let-down. i remembered that 50 cent was on that track(back when he wasn't known too well) and the song sounded really good with him doing his piece in it. but the new version isn't as good. still an excellent buy, even if ur not a rabid collector of her(i'm not. this is the only one i have of hers and i'm just fine with just that) its still a really great buy. but like i said, if u can, try to get the one with 50 cent in it. thankfully thats the only song that changed otherwise i would've returned it

her career is so similar to paula abdul it's not even funny! Both started out dancing. Paula worked with janet jackson in the mid 80's and appeared in her videos, J LO worked with janet in the mid 90's and appeared in a video of hers. Paula Abdul tried her hand at music in the late 80's as a dance-diva and J LO did the same thing in the late 90's. Both of their debut albums Forever Your Girl and On the 6 sold well, and better than their follow up albums. Early 1991, Paula Abdul released Spellbound and early 2001 J LO released J LO. Both of them had strong first singles and their albums fell off the charts pretty fast although both managed to reach 3 million(instead of 8 million and 5 million like their debuts) and have a lot of hits from their albums. Let's not forget to mention that paula briefly did acting as well and J LO is also an actress. This Is Me Again didn't make a dent in the charts and Rebirth was the final nail in the coffin in 2005, just like paula's Head Over Heels. The first single from their final albums both had good videos(My Love Is For Real & Get Right) but by then it was too late and the public already had enough of them. I expect to see J LO release a compilation album by 2010 and appearing as a host or something 10 years from now.

I had no idea that I would find myself enjoying this record. One thing I praise J. Lo for is that she makes really great dance music that reminds you of the old days. That's the closest thing to how great music was back then. This record makes me want to listen to it over and over. The music they have right now sounds so bland and boring. There aren't that many artists from today that I would care listening to, but Jennifer hit the nail on this record. Too bad it didn't do so well, the songs on this album are really good. I love the retro vibe. And I love the album colors and cover art. It's very colorful and bright. It's officially my favorite album from J. Lo's. I didn't care too much for Rebirth. In my opinion, I think this album is much better. My favorites are Mile In These Shoes, Do It Well, Hold It, Don't Drop It, Stay Together, and Gotta Be There. This album is soo worth listening to. When I listen to the songs, I feel like i'm cruising through Miami Beach, sipping champagne, and having fun. It's just basically feel good music.

Jennifer Lopez is a talent powerhouse; there's just no getting around that. I don't mind supporting anything she does, because, nine times out of ten, I am not disappointed. Everything from here movies to her music to her clothing line to her perfume is great. I have enjoyed most of her albums, and "Brave" certainly is no exception. In fact, it's one of her best to date, certainly between her best and second best musical effort.

"Brave" brilliantly blends pop, r&b, and latin sounds together, but anyone who is familiar with Lopez's music knows that she does that with all of her albums: that is what makes her distinguished. I hadn't heard any songs from the album on the radio, but I didn't let that stop me from listening. What captured my attention, though, was the creative album cover. I love the fact that she is looking herself in the face. The album begins with an up-tempo tune called "Stay Together." She uses her upper register well here and the lyrics and melody get my seal of approval. She keeps the party going with "Forever." Again, she administers a hot beat, good delivery and an infectious hook. "Hold it Don't Drop it" is one of my personal favorites, especially the hook. The hook will have you putting this song on your iPod and dancing just like Jennifer Lopez! Well, maybe not exactly like her. Lyrically, "Mile in These Shoes" is the best this album has to offer. This mid-tempo track has lots of guitar, and although the hook doesn't match the beat, it's still a good track. The title track is a fine song, especially lyrics-wise. Lopez is simply telling everyone that she isn't afraid, she's going to be brave.

I highly recommend this album. It's a dance album, but there are some slower tracks for the ballad lovers. If you enjoyed any of her past albums, she has taken her music to another level, so I'm certain you will like "Brave."

Brave is just a freaking awesome record. Jennifer Lopez has never been better. She is so amazing in so many ways. This album is full of stand out songs, in fact that really is all it consists of. She raps over most of the album and she is tight all the way through. This is a woman who knows how to deliver on point. I have to say the bouncy and cool "I Need Love" is my favorite track. But I also love "Mile In These Shoes" this is a sexy and quite alluring track the reverberates with strength and J-Lo's inner character. I really have to say it's hard to pick out songs on this one because it's just simply bumpin' start to finish. However, "The Way It is" is absolutely off the hook as well as "Do It Well." I think the song "Brave" is really a special moment for Jenny in the same way "Alive" was, I think I might give the edge to "Brave". Again this whole album is just un-real. I'm so inspired by this woman and all she's accomplished.

Jennifer Lopez "Brave" the album is a Masterpiece and if I had to pick one, if I had to pick one, if I had too, I would pick this. However, I would have a hard, hard, hard time leaving behind "J-Lo". Fortunately, I don't have too.

When I listen to "This Is Me...Then" the first thing that jumps out at me is the maturity within the music. Ordinarily and if you read my other reviews of her albums, the first thing that stand's out to me is individual songs and that is the focus of my review and evaluation. However, I find the focus and evaluation undertaken here is directly involved with the maturity of the sound of the record. Jenny sounds for the first time introspective on an album of hers and I appreciate the insight and her letting us into her world. To finish up I will say that at the time, I thought this was her best record to date and while I think over time I have put J-Lo back above it and I think Brave might be her best, "This Is Me...Then" is a Masterpiece. I particularly enjoy the upbeat "Loving You", the soaring duet "All I Have", The very sweet "Baby, I Love You" and finally the hauntingly beautiful "Again" and the very moving "The One". Oh yeah I also love the peaceful and soothing "I've Been Thinkin".

Again this is a Masterpiece, Go out and give it a try.

I don't consider myself a J-Lo fan. Every now and then she releases a good single, but I don't leap for joy when a new J-Lo record hits stores. I happened to over hear this record in a friends car and I liked most of what I heard, so I decided to buy the album for myself. For the most part, I was pleased with this record. This album is very urban. Jennifer samples from several hip-hop tracks and delivers great beats on a lot of the tracks. She strays away from her Latin roots a little and approaches a more R&B style in her music, which I love. I'm shocked at the number of bad reviews this album has gotten. It is a good solid record. Most of the songs have great beats and catchy melodies. There are also some great ballads. "Dear Ben" is a beautiful tribute to...well you know. And although the relationship failed, the song does not. J-Lo's soft voice is incredibly pure and captivating. This album pulls you in from start to finish. There are a couple of road bumps along the way. "You Belong to Me" and "I've Been Thinkin" are a little to dull for my liking. However the rest of the album is pure gold. Highly recommended.

If Jennifer Lopez can be given recent credit for anything, it's staying married to the same guy for 3 1/2 years and adopting a lower, somewhat more respectable profile than she used to have. This album, which is from a time when she was still quite hate-worthy, has a couple of OK songs, but is still more of a marketing scheme than a bonafide artistic masterpiece. On top of that it does have a couple of downright atrocious songs. "Still" is pretty good, "Loving You" is half-decent as long as you've never heard of Mtume, "Baby I Love You" is a nice understated piece, and the hit "I'm Glad" is fun, though like any song, they could've gotten by without samples. On "All I Have" a very self righteous Jennifer rips into her boyfriend (or husband) accusing him of cheating on her, and is absolutely adamant about not giving him another chance, despite the fact that she alludes to nothing that absolutely proves that he's guilty. Even a guest spot by legendary rapper LL Cool J can't save this one. Even more atrocious is "Jenny From The Block" which uses at least 2 different samples and has Jennifer insisting that success hasn't gone to her head. It's almost like she's bragging, because anyone who was familiar with Jennifer Lopez in 2002 knows that she absolutely had allowed success to go to her head.

This is her 2nd best english album after Brave being the first!

I am not a kid but an adult, however, because this site does not make it easy for me to write an adults' review form, I am using this kids' review form."This Is Me...Then" is Jennifer Lopez's best musical album. "I'm Glad" is a good and a beautiful song. "All I Have" is a great track. The video for that track only contributes to the fact that that track's quality is high,and proves that Lopez is a resourceful singer who can find any idea for a song and sing that song. "Again" is good though it is not strong due to that song's long beginning and an instance of a compressed line in that song."Baby I Love You" is Lopez's best track because it is filled with emotionality and because of the fact that its complexity is proof that Jennifer Lopez had worked hard on that song. Lopez is one of the best representatives of American entertainment. In my opinion, she will have to keep on being the wonderful artist that she is.

I'm huge Jennifer Lopez fan. I have all of her CD's and I love hr music. I know she doesn't have the greatest voice, but when she uses it the right way it doesn't sound bad.

"Rebirth" is a really good pop album. There's a lot of realy smooth R&B tracks like "Step Into My World", "Ride or Die", and "I, Love".

The stand-out track on the album is the lead single "Get Right". My favorit single from Jennifer. The beat is enormously catchy, the James Brown horn sample is an amazing. This song is made for the dancefloor.

Rich Harrison also prduced track four, "Whatever You Wanna Do" which is another old-school funk dance-floor jam in the vein of Beyonce's "Crazy In Love"

The album also includes some cute R&B tracks about love and friendship like "Still Around" (which sounds like a sequel of "Still" from her 'This is Me...Then' album), "I Got U", and "Hold You Down" with Fat Joe.

"Cherry Pie" is a nice little rock/pop jam, and "(Can't Believe) This is Me" is a haunting ballad which Jennifer Sings with a lot of soul.

I think this ia a great album, and I recommend it to anyone who likes light pop music.

1.Get Right- The albums starts off with a Sassy Horn that'll make you just get up and move your feet-it's not gonna matter where you are- your just gonna wanna jam all day with this great lyrically Dance Song. I just love her sweet and dulcet voice that PERFECTLEY matches the music in the background. 10/10

2.Step Into My World- One of my favorite songs of all time- this sexy middle-eastern jam suits her vocals PERFECTLEY. I Love the lyrics and the beat- with its rattle-snake and drums and flute- this is a DEFINATE MUST HEAR!! 10/10

3.Hold you Down- A nice and sweet Jam that you should share with that special one in your life. a nice input in this amazing album 8/10

4.Whatever you Wanna Do- This song is kind of a mixture of J.Lo's #1 hit "Get Right" and Beyonce's #1 hit "Crazy in Love",Both combined made this Jam swesome, it will sure have you bobbing your head up and down- Her Vocalas are strong and the lyrics are catchy like the Black Eyed Pea's "My Humps". The Horns and Bass will sure have you moving to this groove. 8/10

5.Cherry Pie- A Princley Pop Rock song that starts off with drums and a guitar. Her vocals suit this song perfectley. Jennifer is like a Chameleon she can take anything and make it blend with her, and she wont seem out of place. A nice electric guitar follows Jenny's vocals all through the song- and it makes it just perfect- My favorite line is the chorus and the line "that's what it feels like". With great NEW and FRESH Lyrics-This Cherry Pie is FRESH out of the OVEN!!!! 10/10

6.I Got U- A perfect Dance tune with latin flutes and guitars. This song is a PHENOMENAL blend of "Aint it Funny" and "Aint it Funny(REMIX)" With top of the line lyrics, Darkchild did an amzing job producing this AMAZING TRACK. Lyrically the 2nd best on this album-this song will be in your heart and mind for a VERY LONG TIME! 10/10

7.Still Around- Her BEST R&B Groove since Im Glad- this song is built around sweet and Caramelish trumpets that will find their way into your heart- Jennifers chorus is so sweet and sounds like an old tune from a European song.The Lyrics of Love and Devotion will sure melt your heart. 10/10

8.Ryde or Die- One of My Favorite J.lo Songs of ALL TIME- this song will sound a little weird at first but once it will grow on to you faster than you can say i hate it. with its beautiful beat and strong lyrics of Love and Passion-this Song is TRULY AMAZING. 10/10

9.I Love- a really nice dance and r&b groove that starts with what sound like african drums that are great- this song is truly great- some lyrics and vocals are not as great as the other gems in this album- but it sure is an A+ song 9/10

10.He'll Be Back- another tune that starts off with this catchy middle-eastern flute that youll fall in love with. this song is just about what the title is, about a girl that is crazy in love with the one who left her. AMAZING SONG 10/10

11.(Cant Belive)This is Me- OMG-What a BEAUTIFUL SONG OF HEARTBREAK AND BETRAYAL-her vocals STAND OUT AND SHINE LIKE THE STARS IN THE SKY-LYRICALLY ONE OF THE BEST SONGS I HAVE EVER HEARD IN MY LIFE!!!! It sounds like an old 90's rock song with its guitars, piano and jennifers wonderful vocals, jennifer sang it AMAZINGLY AND PHENOMENALLY!!!! 10/10

12.Get Right(feat. Fabulous) the same as the original exept with some great lyrics by Fabulous. 10/10

Mariah Carey's New album is NOTHING Compared to this Diamond in the Rough. this album wouldve sold MILLIONS if it wasnt for The Emancipation of Mimi-Which is not all that great as others say- its a good album but Rebirth trashes it and spits it out!!!

This is album #4 from Jennifer Lopez(album #5 if you include her remix album) and from my perspective it's a good one. Highlights from this set include "Get Right", "Step Into My World", "Hold You Down", "Whatever You Wanna Do", and "Cherry Pie". The DVD side is just as better with the entire disc in 5.1 surround sound and her video for "Get Right". It's just too bad that this disc got lost in the shuffle this year due to the explosive comeback of music's woman of 2005. I'm talking about Miss Mariah Carey(I guess karma is really a muthaf@#*er).

Jennifer suffers from her own sucess nowadays as she can hire the best and it is evident that instead of putting in any personal effort she has decided to let others write and produce much of this material.
Saying that,the albumn is not complety devoid of musical talent: the horn-fueled "Get Right" was an international hit in its' own right; making it to #1 in the UK and Australia and #12 in the US. "Cherry Pie"; "Step into my world" and "He'll be back" are each catchy and well performed whilst Jennifer gives her best vocal performance ever on the self=penned

'Where Shall I Fly' by contemporary mezzo-soprano Jennifer Larmore is a big surprise when you first listen to it, as one wonders how such big sounds come from such a petite looking lady who'se face is on the cover. The title comes from the name of a Handel aria from the opera Hercules. This is one of the two English language arias on the CD, the other being from Handel's 'Semele'. All other arias from both Handel and Mozart are in Italian, the most familiar being 'Voi che sapete' from Mozart's 'Le nozze di Figaro'.

As an amateur listener to classical music, I suspect Ms. Larmore is not as highly ranked (Jim Furyk to Renee Fleming's Tiger Woods)as some other mezzos, but this particular collection is makes very nice listening, at least as enjoyable as Ms. Fleming's take on Mozart.

one of the most exellent,of course.
On this Hendel arias,she plays male roles.I think it is
very suitable for her.Probably these roles were played by
castratos.Castoratos need storong and radiant voice,which
Larmore has!I prefer her male roles.She will open new windows
of baroque operas.What she impresses us is not a coquetry.
She belongs to another type of mezzo.

Having heard all the great mezzos of the past 40 years, many of them (Baker, Cossotto, Horne, von Stade, Valentini-Terrani) in person, I can attest that Jennifer Larmore is one of the greatest. Though her voice is not always stunningly beautiful and her technique not completely polished, there is no question that her COMBINATION of voice, technique and interpretive nuance is unsurpassed in the modern era. Agnes Baltsa may be more honeyed of voice, for instance, but she lacks the sheer excitement and joie-de-vivre that Larmore brings to her singing. In these Baroque and Classical numbers, she also displays a deft sense of style fully apropos to the music at hand. She is truly a mezzo for the ages.

This recording albeit less colorful than her more recent stuff shows the promise that she has delivered to all of us. She is truly a blessing with her mezzo-soprano and her richness is unparalleled by few that I know of.
