I liked Jessica Simpson, before she was with Nick, so I had to get her newest CD. She has such a great, big, voice! Awesome!

I was pleasantly surprised to discover that she is more than a pretty face: she can sing!

Despite having mixed reviews from the critics, Jessica's new CD is absolutely wonderful! The lyrics are very candid and honest and can relate to a lot of different concerns that the rest of have. I think Jessica does a beautiful job on this one! The title track "Do You Know" (Duet with Dolly Parton) is just exquisite! I listen to it on repeat a lot. It is just so moving and so honest! All the songs are really very powerful. Jess does a great job opening herself up and being vulnerable, so as the listener you can really feel her emotions - whether it be pain, happiness, contentment, excitement, love - and completely relate. I think she did an amazing job with her new sound!!

If your a fan of Jessica you'll love this album. I'm not a great fan of country music but wanted to have a listen to see what it was like. It's great, meaningful lyrics and you can still have a good sing a long to it.

I love it! It's a very personal and insightful album. It is relatable on many levels for many people. I would recommend it for sure. I cant wait to see what happens next! I love it!

I have such a soft spot for musicals -- especially Disney musicals. The Little Mermaid is one of my very favorites -- most of the songs are so catchy I can't help but tap my foot and sing along. After a bad day there's nothing better than turning this puppy on full blast. Every song you remember is here, including the wonderful orchestral score.

The bonus songs are terrifying, however. Whoever thought that the Little Mermaid needed to be put to horrific, half-baked pop/r&b and shrieked by children of dubious talent should probably have large rocks thrown at them. Just a suggestion. However, I chose to ignore them, and I rate this disc by the value of the first disc, whose superior quality easily drowns out the second CD's terrifying contributions.

Anyway, just get this CD and enjoy the delightful croonings of Ariel and co! You won't regret it!

Ive always loved the Little Mermaid and was excited to see this set, but I have to say I was disappointed to hear the Jonas Brothers singing Poor Unfortunate Souls. When Ursula sings this song kids know she's one of the "bad guys" but its a strange message that daughters and their friends get when the hottest boy band out today is singing about girls needing to basically shut up and be pretty to get a man. Stick with the originals and skip disc 2.

I bought this CD mainly for the Jonas Brothers song, "Poor Unfortunate Souls". But the whole CD is excellent & I liked it so much that I played it twice the day I got it!

The CD certainly captures the essence of the film. My daughters enjoy listening to the CD while they are playing and they don't have to be watching tv all the time!

Little Mermaid was the first video I ever owned myself. Loved it from the first day I saw it. I don't hold the same view as I did as a child but it's still a wonderful story. And the music is just plain fun. The best part of this special edition is Ashley Tisdale's rendition of Kiss The Girl. Let me start by saying I have issues about Disney's need to turn every actor into a singer and every singer into an actor and the promote them to the ends of the earth. And it's not so much Ashley Tisdale - though she's very talented - that makes me love this version of the song. Whoever revised the arrangement is who I'd like to really thank. I love every thing about how this version was put together. Upbeat. Fun. Totally "sqeeable". But then I'm a hopeless romantic.

It's a perfectly plain and digestible Christmas album, just don't expect to be moved. You're better off with Mariah Carey's "Merry Christmas" instead.
The best example of how bland this album is her and ex-hubby Nick Lachey's version of "Baby it's cold outside."
It's just about the deadest rendition of this song ever. It's a nuanced and funny song that's she turns humorless and forgettable -- no easy feat. Listen to just about any other version and you'll see, I recommend Brian Setzer's duet with Ann Margaret.
Do yourself a favor and look for a Christmas album that's a little more heartfelt.

Rejoyce: The Chirstmas Album by ditzy Jessica Simpson is the worst Christmas-themed cd I have ever heard, and I am serious here guys! The only breathtaking song is Little Drummer Boy, a duet with her sis Ashlee, and you are not gonna believe it but Ashlee sounds better than Jessica on this track! Poor Jessica's voice is too breathy, flat, and just annoying. Jessica has never sounded this dead on an album, what happened to that girl who could belt her heart out? She does a cover of Amy Grant's Breath of Heaven (Mary's Song) and she does not pull it off like Grant's verison. Jessica really messed this up, all the other songs sound hideous, hopefully Jessica won't release another X-mas cd ever again!

I love the songs that were on this cd and thats why I bought it. However she over does many of the words in the song turning a listener off. Nick and Ashlee both do good jobs which saves her in some of them. Would not recommend, rather go with Trans-Siberan Orchestra.

No problems with the sender. Very nice and without issues. The CD however, was terrible. I bought it for my fiance and I dont think she listened to more than about 2 songs.

This CD got boring after the first few songs. They all began to sound alike...for me not a good mix.

This is one of my favorite CDs this season. The songs are simply lovely. Sond of the songs have words that are spoken rather than sung as poems or stories being told. Beautiful flutes, bells ringing, guitars and the like. Its very gentle music that you just want to sit and absorb. The lyrics are beautiful - poetic blessings, celebrating our change of seasons, the winter, the wildlife. A few have a celtic sound to them but most do not. The voices, music are just so harmonious, melodic, wonderful. This cd was just what I needed to celebrate the darkness. An amazing work. I wish I could find more like this one!

How does one begin to describe absolute musical and lyrical beauty? Beautiful Darkness is that description. It is mysterious, passionate, elegant, grand, heavenly, intoxicating and down to earth all at the same time. The artists on this CD have given music lovers a rare gift with this recording.

This is one of the lousiest cd's I have ever listened to.This awful woman cant sing to even save her own life and is as bad as Britney Spears.all the songs are filler.Avoid this and get Metallica's latest album instead.

The Beach Boys? The Beatles? Yeah, they both suck. "Aaron's Party" b Aaron Carter and "In This Skin" by Jessica Simpson are among the best pop albums ever created. You heard me. "Pet Sounds" and "Abbey Road" are, frankly, crapola. Oh, and Jessica looks sexy on the cover!

Im not gonna go into full detail about this album. But it is one of the best out of the 4 she has released so far. Thank goodness for the re-release because the 1st person i spoke to about this album was disappointed. So i decided to hold off but when i saw that she was doing a remake to "Take My Breath Away" and "Angel", that was all i needed. Jessica Simpson is talented and has an amazing voice to the likes of Mariah Carey and Christina Aguilera. However she just doesn't know what to do with it. She works with the wrong people & she really needs a mainstream producer to PUT her VOICE on the MAP & Utilize it to the best of her ability. As stated this was one of her better releases and my favorite song was "I Have Loved You" she never released or made a video for =(

She's lovely, maintains a "Sweet, girl next door" aura, and "Wishes She could save the world like She was Super Girl." Hehe.

Just check out the song, "With You", a wonderful love song, that celebrates, being comfortable with one's self - one's own being, and loving every drop - every morsel that your omnipresent Lover decides to devote to you.

I love most of these songs, Hence the 3.7/5 stars rating, I'm awarding this release. It's not stellar, but the sweet, yet quite powerful vocals is the forward and background of the Music and production and that's fairly important.

The only thing this chick should consider, is trying to become a singer-songwriter. Even if her lyrics are trite, and elementary that's OK because numerous amounts of pop singers these days write trite, empty, and meaningless "songs" these Days...!

You don't know how much respect I'd gain for Her If she decided to take matters into the palm of Her own hands and sat down to write some love songs on Her very own or even if She decided to collaborate with someone who would take initiative steers the ship and is the head Songwriter.

I would melt inside if she took over and wrote something. I think it'd be wicked cool if Her and Ashlee penned a couple of catchy pop songs for All to devour! They could even get together to materialize a "love-that-you're-gone" song, that happily dismisses Nick Lachey her ex-Husband.

*NOTABLE UPDATE* Just in: Jessica Simpson successfully co-wrote some of these tracks. I'm in Awe to be perfectly honest. But I love it. It just shows how multi-talented She is. And I'm sure that She laughs all the way to the bank! Go, Jess!! Stay sweet and don't let this crazy world change You!!!!!

I love this album besides the singles: sweetest sin,with you,take my breath away and angels.I definetly think "I have loved you" should've been another single maybe instead of sweetest sin or angels.Anyway this is a great album it's worth more buying than baby one more time.

Jessica Simpson's second album Irresistible is an awful and over-produced pop album. There are only 2 good tracks, What's It Gonna Be and For Your Love. The rest of the album is silly and soulless. This album flopped and it's not hard to see why. Leave this one in the dumpster.

Compared to Mandy Moore, Simpson's voice is bland and always sounds the same. The music is also boring. That's all I have to say. This music is really bad, and I don't mean that in a "good" way.

"Irresistible", "A Little Bit", "Forever in your Eyes", "For your Love", "I never" and a great duet with Marc Anthony make this CD Irresistible.

Jessica Simpson is both a fine singer and actress,however, she does not compare with the originals like Berlin or Catherin Bach.Which she copied in Take My Breath Away and Dukes of Hazard.

Sadly this album didn't sell much but it is indeed one of the best.I can't stop listening to it I personally think jessica simpson is better than britney spears.Brit is only this popular cuz of all the drama she makes and those dance moves.

Sweet Kisses by Jessica Simpson was a cd I had back in the day, of course my music styles have changed since then, to me on her debut album Jessica can sing but the music is weak and too bubble gum. Her type of music is even poppier than Britney's was. Everyone says that she can't sing but on this disc she sings amazing especially on her first single, I Wanna Love You Forever. I think Jessica just came out at the wrong time in pop music, she was being compared to Christina and Britney, there was no way people wanted to listen to another blonde pop tart. A lot of the songs on Sweet Kisses are over-produced, it's so glossy and forgettable. Of course her recent songs are even more awful and her voice is all airy and a faded whisper now, what happened? Jessica Simpson isn't an important singer, she is just known for saying idiotic things and boy she should win an award just for that.

I did not know that. But honey, please don't.

I thought Jessica was just known for looking good with little or no clothing and mistaking fish for chicken. I wonder why she's not as well known for her music.

Sure Jessica, you're a hottie, but leave music to the musicians.

here we go again, another teen pop singer ala mariah, it works for mariah, miss simpsons vocals are a whinier version of mariah careys. the album is fairly generic enough, the hit being "i wanna love you forever" but after hearing her scream out the words, im not sure if i wanted to hear the rest, i did, and that said shes no france joli,( a canadian teenage singer) the rest of the album has mostly filler songs. i susspect she will eventually find her groove, just as long as she stops emulating mariah cary...

While the quality of her subsequent albums has been on a steady decline, Jessica Simpson's first album is a gorgeous vocal showcase that should have kept Britney locked in the closet for a long time. A very able singer who can really shout when she wants to, it was rather unfortunate that this album was released in the same year that brought Britney into the spotlight, because Jessica deserved the fame a lot more. Unfortunately, after the weak sales of this album, she lowered her musical standards for the purpose of selling out for bigger profit, a mistake that she has yet to recover from.

We've heard these songs a million times b 4...nice...but forgettable.

In This Skin by Jessica Simpson was her attempt to be taken seriously as a singer/songwriter, and I am sorry to say that she failed miserably. This album was released before The Newlyweds hoopla, Jessica's vocals just weren't the same anymore, when her first album was released I thought she had the most natural talent of the four "poptarts" (Britney, Christina, and Mandy). Poor Jess just seems bored on this record, tracks like You Don't Have to Let Go, With You, Sweetest Sin, and even the title-track are meaningless pop. I am a fan no more, sorry Jess!

I'm repeating myself, but then so is Jessica! Nice...but forgettable.

JESSICA SIMPSON is the worst in the music industry after BRITNEY and ASHLEE.STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOUSY CD AND BUY THE FORTHCOMING ALBUM FROM THE WHO INSTEAD.ONE STAR.

Jessica wrote 9 of the 11 songs on "In This Skin", and they are all from the heart. Jessica has continued to mature with each album, but this one shows exactly how far she's come. She shows just what her beautiful voice is capable of, and every single song is sung with tremendous emotion. She found her own sound and voice, and unlike many artists today, did not produce a "trendy" sounding CD.

Song by song:

1)SWEETEST SIN (9.5/10): The first single off the album, and it is sexy and smoldering. Jessica's breathy vocals create very intense mental images.

2)WITH YOU (10/10): This song is a light, upbeat song talking about how being truly loved for who you are is the most liberating thing in the world.

3)MY WAY HOME (9/10): This song has a great downbeat and slinkyness to it. The melody is very enticing.

4)I HAVE LOVED YOU (10/10): I love this song--the melody, the vocals, it's just a beautiful song that was made for Jessica's voice.

5)FORBIDDEN FRUIT (8.5/10): Probably the most "pop-y" song, but kind of has an old school Paula Abdul vibe, not trying too hard to be hip. You can get into the beat of this one!

6)EVERYDAY SEE YOU (9/10): A sweet, beautiful song that makes you forget all your problems and just relax for 3 minutes. Very soothing

7)UNDERNEATH (9.5/10): A wonderful, powerful song that describes love at it's most passionate, and every bit of that passion flows through Jessica's voice.

8)YOU DON'T HAVE TO LET GO (11/10!!): The best song on the album. Jessica wrote this song for her father, and it is the most touching, poignant, amazing song I've heard in a long time. It actually brought tears to my eyes. It shows what an amazing person she is to have this much gratitude towards her father for making her the person she is today. Her voice is spectacular here. If this song doesn't at least give you chills, then I give up!

9)LOVING YOU (9.5/10): My favorite up-tempo song on the album. Has a great groove. Another incredibly sexy and sultry song.

10)IN THIS SKIN (10/10): This is probably the most revealing song on the album. Jessica tells about her insecurities, but it is very motivating in that it emphasizes being comfortable with yourself. A very touching and uplifting song.

11)BE (10/10): The best "love" song in my opinion, on the CD. It talks about hope and happiness and what love really feels like.

Jessica bares her soul and we see her vulnerabilities and her passion for life, love and family. She has truly found the "skin" she is comfortable in!
