Call of the Mystic is simply the best music CD to come along in years. A must have for any Enlightenment collection.

I heard this music whilst having a massage and just HAD TO HAVE!!! It has not disappointed, on the contrary, I would say this is probably one of my favourite CDs of all time. If you want to be transported to that special place away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, this is for YOU. I will no doubt be purchasing more of Karunesh. And yes... the mystic called...
Karunesh has a way of getting to the core of your being. Thank you Karunesh and thank you Amazon for making it so easy for us to have the music we love.

I heard the song "Monsoon Dance" on sky.fm. I previewed other songs and then bought almost all songs. Others are fine too, just listened once.

It's been 4 days since I bought them. I am not listening to any other song than Monsoon Dance for almost 4 days, day and night.. I am usually obsessed with these kind of mystic songs, listening to one song at a time for days a stretch, even when I sleep.

Thats the effect of the song Monsoon Dance. Truly, the mystic feeling of non-existence is an amazing pleasure. I feel one with the entire universe when I listen to this song.

I wonder what the composer might have gone through to come up with such an amazing piece of music. The Indian violin's effect is rather deep.

This is one of the most beautiful CDs I have every heard. I bring it everywhere when I need to relax. The sound of the instruments from India are just breathtaking.

....if you like really strange, annoying German people who try to go "native." This is nothing but commodified exoticism; music for spiritual enhancement my arse....

This is not Indian music, per se...

Sort of Indian/Middle eastern, with familiar (and comfortable) Western cadences....Great for driving, and avoiding tension while doing so...

There are some excellent Indian vocals on two pieces (Longing For The Unknown and Shutri's Song), I believe dubbed from a Indian singer from the 40s....

Very good, if you want relaxing, Eastern flavored, mostly instrumental music.

Karunesh manages effectively mixes the best of Indian and western instruments into a a soothing melody. I strongly recommend this album - it is soothing and calming & my favourite!

Beautiful music!. Takes you on a journey and I dont seem to get tired of it. Great combination of Sitar, Indian Violin, haunting voice and drums. Must listen if you like East Indian theme.

Listening to Karunesh's "Joy of Life" is a soul-stirring experience. Each cut is an intricate blend of haunting vocals, violin, guitar and subtle ethereal percussion dancing beautifully with Karunesh's masterful devotional flute melodies. Appropriately titled, this is spiritual "jammin'" at its best. Inspiring.

Once again, Karunesh has proved to be a source of joy and inspiration.

Excellent CD. I use it to relax my clients and all have commented how much they enjoy the ambient music as well. Very soothing!

When a girlfriend handed me this cd and said you have to listen to this I figured I'd listen to it once and promptly hand it back. I avoided her for a week until I could get my own copy, and I didn't take it out of my player for almost a month. What beautiful tranquil melodies! Every song has feeling! A few tracks, such as Moon Temple and Remembering to Forget, have an underlying, but nostalgic sadness. My favorite time to listen is during my work commute because it keeps me 'in the present'. I find that not only does it keep me calmer during the craziness, but when listening to Breathing Silence and Flowing with the Tea I view the world as though it were a movie and I'm listening to the soundtrack. Not only do I stay tuned into the music every time, but I also tune in to what is going on around me. It's one of those rare cd's that I want to listen to every track at the same time and frequently! Not just Tao and Zen!

Outstanding...would give it 6 stars if I could. Perfect unwinding music at home at the end of the day, or equally perfect as background music at work...keeps me relaxed during the pressures of the day. Very worthwhile purchase.

This is the first album I've listened to by Karunesh since
his earlier, extremely varied and creative work "Sky's Beyond". This one is boring and repetitious to the MAX, and Govi is about the best thing about the album, all of a total of 4 or 5 minutes!
As one cut, it is beautiful and relaxing, but multiply it by 10
and it becomes a rip-off, at least in IMHO.

Hard hitting and moving. Music to think, meditate or appreciate for it's global sound.

This disciple of Osho comes up with some melodious tracks... which have remarkable good soothing and calming effect on ur mind. A mix of Indian and African tunes the album is a gem, a must have if you are a lover of Fusion music. The use of high bass flute in Alibaba, and Call of Tribes make them my personal favorites...

I bought this CD five years ago on a whim...knew nothing about Karunesh or his music. During the first year I listened to it several times a week. Now, five years later, it continues to be one of my all time favorite CD's. The music from this CD is 'transcendental'. I can't think of any other way to describe it. I get a deep spiritual feeling from the music each time I listen to it. I can always count on this CD to put my head and heart in the right place. I've shared this CD with friends and family. Almost every one has mentioned to me sometime later how much they enjoy this music. It seems to touch a part of ourselves that longs for a connection with something larger than our little egoic selves and confirms humanity as community, despite borders and distance. I wish I could personally thank Karunesh his work with this CD.

This CD is amazing! The music is so beautiful, unique, and moving! Its rich exotic rhythms are unforgettable! This is one of the best world music CDs!

I read a lot of great reviews on karunesh and bought this so-called "platinum best seller" but it really SUCKS!! I'd great opinion on this osho disciple and his fusion music, however this album is in a totally different and dull league compared to his gems-zen breakfast and nirvana cafe!
GS is too oriental, synthetic and clearly lacks harmony. Only solitude and earth song does well and the other ones are very indian with incoherent african beats.

Overall it's only slightly better than a dumb Bollywood/Hindi movie!!!

When I first bought Zen Breakfast I was very pleased, great music for studying, reading or just chilling out. I was so satisfied that I bought two more disks from Karunesh, those were "Joy of Life" and "Call of The Mystic". They were great too. Actually my favorite is Joy of Life. I've been studying for a very demanding exam this past 6 months, the only thing that gets me studying is Karunesh...
I was so happy with my studying music that I decided to buy another disk from them, it was Nirvana Cafe... total disaster, horrible instruments kept disturbing my mind while studying. So I decided to just erase it from my playlist.
I totally recommend Karunesh, it's the best, but not Nirvana Cafe.

I really like the way this music calms me down when having a stressful day at work

Excellent music...a superb compliment to Zen Breakfast. I play both pieces repeatedly throughout the day while at work...relaxing without being intrusive on my work.

Like the person who wrote the last review, this is real music. The first Karunesh album i bought was Global Spirit. I was down in Orlando, Florida at a crystal shop, of all places, and heard "Solitude" playing. I cannot describe how wonderful I felt listening to it. However, I can say that it helped me get out of my depression. And to this day "Solitude" is still my favorite song. This song nor any of the others I have heard from Karunesh have ever become boring nor do they get "stuck in your head" like many annoying music I hear on the radio.

I really wish Karunesh could read this. If he can, I love his music because it is so filled with love and compassion and passion. the former Passion and life that was so clear in "Global Spirit" seemed a little bit lost or umimplemented in "Zen Breakfast" Perhaps because he was going to another stage of life and self discovery. However, it is once back again in "Nirvana Cafe." I must confess, though, that I have only heard these three albums from Karunesh.

Karunesh, Please keep up the great work. You have helped me and many others, I believe.

The first time I heard this album I thought now thats more like it!! This took me back to his first album. Songs that move and change and when they do that, you find yourself humming along. This music is why I buy New age in the first place.....because it is MUSIC!! This album has taken me along way since I first heard Karunesh 6 years ago when his song Dawnlight was played on my local cable systems DMX digital music. I knew then I would like his music very much. This album gets 5 stars and deserves them. This album has replaced Colors of Light as my favorite Karunesh album. VERY highly suggest fan get this one today!! Now I could tell you something about each song as other seem to do, but my music tastes are just that....MINE. You may not like the same music I do, but I will say this, when I write a review on this site it is because this is just to good not to tell people about. Enjoy it for yourself.

I first discovered the music of German-born new age musician Karunesh with 2004's excellent "Call of the Mystic" (in my opinion, one of the top new age/instrumental recordings of recent years, rating right alongside Kitaro's recent "Spiritual Garden".) Since that time I have been working my way through his back catalog, and have found that Karunesh is not merely a one trick pony, but an artist of great musical diversity. Some of his albums are in the realm of minimalist 'healing/relaxation' music ("Silent Heart", "Beyond Body & Mind"), some in the realm of 'World beat' music ("Global Village"), and yet others are in a more structured, melodic 'new age/electronic' vein ("Nirvana Cafe", "The Wanderer"). This particular CD, 2003's "Beyond Heaven", is one that would fit into the last catagory, and easily rates as one of Karunesh's finest overall works to date. Filled to the brim with exotic layered synth sounds, hypnotic electro-percussion, panoramic production, and strong, memorable melodies - this is the kind of album where you can just put on your headphones and get lost in all of it's imaginative soundscapes. Those who (like myself) view vocals as something of an intrusion on their new age listening experience will be pleased to know that this is a completely instrumental CD. Even better, with almost every track in the 5 to 6 minute range, there is plenty of room for the arrangements to breathe and develop...For those already familiar with Karunesh, the music here is most easily comparable in style and sound to his 2002 effort "Nirvana Cafe". (Actually, this album sounds almost like an unintentional companion piece/sequel to "Nirvana Cafe", although, in some ways, I believe it is even stronger.) On the other hand, for those who have NEVER heard any previous Karunesh works, I would say that the music here is in the same general genre as artists like Kitaro, Vangelis, & Gandalf. However, comparisons somehow fall short, as Karunesh does have many distinctive qualities that make him very much his own artist. All of the tracks found here are pretty strong, although some personal favorites include "Endless Skies" (an exotic, melodic gem that would surely have been a hit back in the days when new age artist were being played on radio and VH-1), "Beatiful Day" (featuring some gentle flute playing and a gorgeous harmonized melody), "Windrider" (highlighted by some great rhythmic sequences), and above all else the spectacular title track, "Beyond Heaven", which boasts a slow-burning electro-beat, prominent bass line, and rich, mystical synthesizer tones...My only real complaint about this album is not with the music, but with the CD booklet. No offence to the record label, but the artwork, booklet, & layout look like something that was spit out of someone's home PC after about 15 minutes of work! Karunesh is such a intriguing, distinctive artist than I would like to see him find a difinitive cover style that ties in better with his music (sort of like Yes with their Roger Dean 'fantasy' covers.) Still, at the end of the day it's the music that matters, and the music here deserves far more attention than it's recieving...A highly recommended purchase!

karunesh's music is soothing and relaxing. It's the kind of music that soothes you after we have had our heart's content of enigma. Devoid of samples and mixing, this is a purely instrumental work with arrangements formed by synthesizers, percussion, wind chimes, Tibetan bowls, native or traditional instruments: flutes, tabla, African drums etc which intersperses with the synthesizers, percussive and bass instruments.

Basically this is a wholly instrumental effort as opposed to Karunesh's earlier offering "Global spirit". Global Spirit is his best though. I highly recommend karunesh. His music is peaceful, devoid of any strain, soft and soothing to the ear, and yet it demands attention as it is vastly more arresting and lyrical compared to simple background elevator music. His music not only builds mental pictures but also accentuates moods and most of all, puts you in that restful place beyond heaven. Also Karunesh has the ability to fully change an instrumental phrase and modify the music to give us lyrical twists and turns. His innovative and novel musical ideas delight our senses.

There's not a bummer on this whole CD. After you get used to the music in 2 stray hearings, this CD will continue to be in your player. You can crank up the volume and listen to it attentively or cut the volume down so it can serve as effective calming background music when you want to get down to some work but still want something playing in the background to soothe your nerves.

I heard Spirits in the Forest on XM Radio and loved it so decided to buy this CD as an introduction to Karunesh. It is a great CD! Beautiful melodies with a generally upbeat feeling to them. Put it in, relax and enjoy! I still love Spirits in the Forest, The Wanderer is a great feel good song...they are all great. Enjoy!

This disc is the exact same as one titled "The Wanderer" under the Eatherean Music label. Exact same songs. Amazon needs to address this issue as customers like myself assume that since it is a different title and a different music label that it would be a different disc!!

I heard an portion of this CD during a course I was taking, and knew that I needed to purchase it. I have not been disappointed, and a number of teachers have expressed an interest in purchasing this for their classrooms as well. It is very soothing playing in the background as students enter and exit my learning space.

This is a wonderful CD. I have the Peace of Mind 1 & 3 cds. They are so calming and just great cd's to have on in the background while you're working or sleeping. I play it in my daughter's room while she's sleeping and she's never slept better. I highly recommend purchasing all 3.

I love Karunesh music. I've taken the cds to massage therapy, I listen to them in my car, and I listen to them in the evening as I am going through my mail, eating my dinner, or working around the house. My dog and cat approve of my music selection as well.

The first track on this CD begins with an unexpected male vocal beseechment, a call to worship, by Mohammad Eghabal, accompanied by appropriate seriously sedate music played on one instrument. "Inshallah" has a highly evocative and unusual beginning which captures one's attention as the individual notes on the sitar (possibly guitar) are strummed to set the mood and carry the listener to a sacred space within. The first track creates the mystical journey that never ends, even when the CD stops. My next favorite is "Morning Glory". The introduction begins with chimes or bells, that are followed by the flute, and soft strains on the guitar ... it sounds very much like reflective, melodic Chinese music. The piece transitions into harmonious and meandering guitar melodies played by Govi, accompanied on keyboards, with other sounds that enhance the flow, fluidity and texture of soft, silky music. Track # 5, "Down Under" has more depth and direction to the music, it takes you into a lyrical, smoothly played, magical rhythm which is enhanced by the tabla, that sounds highly cultural and natural. "A Journey to India", track #6, continues taking the listener to exotic musical landscapes with sitar strains and tabla accompaniment, there is an exciting, infectious beat that is highly appealing. "Secrets of Life", track #7, continues the venue of serenity developed by the previous tracks, the music is fluid, mystical, and magical in its expression. The last track, #8, "Dusk" ... invokes again the sacred call to worship by Mohammad Eghbal, the same or similar vocals as in the first "Inshallah" but this time, one senses the closing of the day, as the instruments blend the music into creating a nostalgic and ethereal feeling as if watching a sunset. This CD radiates spirituality with the sacred, magical, and mystical sounds of each and every track. My highest recommendation.
