Kaskade

I have been a Kaskade fan ever since he was an extremely under ground DJ in San Fran. I have been to more shows than I can count. I have yet to go see Kaskade and been disappointed by his performance.
This CD however is a BIG disappointment for me, A lot of the songs (pose, step one two, etc) just seem like they were thrown in there cause he had to make the CD longer. The lyrics are silly and don't really evoke any feelings for me.
The real jems on this CD are Angel On My Shoulder (my new theme song), Move For Me, and Your Love Is Black. The rest is just fluff.

I love house music with vocals. I've always listened to mostly Top 40 until I discovered both Kaskade and Madison Park on Sex And The City soundtrack. They are both just excellent.

I was expecting something smooth, but this CD goes way beyond that. It is very 'pop-ish' and not at all what I expected. Overall I would not recommend this CD for anyone that loves Trance or Techno. This belongs in the very 'lite house' rack.

I am very pleased with Kaskade's latest album, "Strobelite Seduction". If you are familiar with Kaskade's style then you will also be more than satisfied with this album. As for new-comers to Kaskade...the best way to describe his style it late night lounge music. It's not incredibly heavy like techno so if that's what you're looking for this is not for you. However it's not too mellow to fall asleep too. In my opinion its the perfect middle ground.

Kaskade has really out done himself with this album. Usually downtemp and more 'chill', this track dabs more into the world of dance, with a very unique flare of 'Kaskade'. If you haven't been a fan of him, you will be after taking a listen to this album. Every track is great, even the more "Kaskade-ish" downtempo tracks. A GREAT buy!

Kaskade's "Here and Now" released in May 2006 (double CD) pack with hits like "It's you it's me" (2003), "Everything" (2005), "Sweet love" (2004)", "Still, still, still" (2006), "Soundtrack to the soul (2004)" and my all time favorite "Steppin' out (2004)". If you like house music and or chillout then add "Kaskade - Here and now" to your collection. You will not be disappointed.

Ryan Raddon (aka Kaskade) moved to Salt Lake City in 1992 to attend the University of Utah. During this time he owned and operated a local record store, Mechanized Records. In May 2000, Ryan Raddon moved to San Francisco and began working as an A&R assistant for Om Records. Releasing his first single "What I Say" on the label in 2001.

Kaskade's fourth solo album Love Mysterious was released in September 2006. The first single from the album, "Be Still", reached #4 on Billboard Magazine's Hot Dance Club Play. The single features vocalist Sunsun, and includes remixes by Jay-J and Robbie Rivera. Follow up single "Stars Align" hit number #8 on "Billboard Magazine" Hot Dance Airplay chart and just missed the top ten, #11, on the Hot Dance Club Play chart. His third single released from "Love Mysterious", "Sorry", was his third consecutive top ten hit on Billboard's Hot Dance Airplay Chart, at #9. Dirty South provided a remix for "Sorry." The remix has been nominated for a 2008 Grammy for Best Remixed Recording. Although unconfirmed, many people believe that he may have taken his name from the Detroit band the Kaskades, who broke up in late 2006.

Upon signing with Ultra Records in late 2006, Kaskade subsequently left OM Records and now only releases with the former.

Most recently Kaskade has worked with Canadian house/electronic DJ/artist: "Deadmau5", to help produce some tracks on Strobelite Seduction. Including the first single, released as an EP, Move For Me. The single became his fifth top ten hit on Billboard's Hot Dance Airplay Chart, so far peaking at number 6.

I like the album, but honestly, I prefer the Love Mysterious album over this best-of. I find the newer style less downtempo and house but that in no way means this album is bad. It's all about preference. This is for any Kaskade fan.

This is the ultimate Kaskade collection, perfect for new and old fans alike. You get 2-cd's and hours worth of some great music! A winner!

the track 'In this Life' prompted me to buy this album - what a pleasure. Beautiful tracks - nice vocals. The listed tracking on the cd package is wrong but other wise, a nice treat.

This is a CD that a lot of people can like. Every track has vocals and it's the energized kind of house that won't make you doze off. Highly recommended.

I can see how there would be some who wouldn't like this album. It's not like the older Kaskade albums. I think it had more energy and punch. I prefer this style of music. This will make you tap your feet. Older Kaskade albums are good to use as a sleep aid in comparison. The entire album is filled with terrific tracks. You won't find yourself skipping over any "stinkers". If Kaskade continues along this path he can expect to have me as a fan for some time.

After Here and Now, I became a huge fan of Kaskade. This album was one of the greatest I heard yet. The first 4 tracks caught me by my seat, its awesome music to race by booming in your care sterio system. Track 1-4,10 and 11 are my favorites. Especially track 4 had this hard yet soft drum and bass beat with the most angelic, meaningful vocal and meaningful lyrics. If you are a music lover this album is a must have.

Stars Align is a great song but Never Ending is my fav! I love Dance music but Kaskade is my new passion. Fabulous CD with many good songs to groove too.

By far a superb San Fran House DJ. Hands down this guy can move a crowd. His music is melodic, soulfull and will make you sing your heart out in your car when listening to his music. By far my utlimate fav on this disc is Its you its me..very sweet and enchanting. You will find 98% of the time OM label will put out outstanding quality. If you haven't seen Kaskade live, head down next time he's in town, take your shoes off, put the drink down and dance because music is what it's about. Hi Five!

I picked up this album when a local music store was going out of buisness. I saw the OM label, and was confident that there was at least a few good songs on it. Sure enough there were. I really like "Seeing Julie" track, great beat, bass, and vocals.

The fact that Kaskade hails from OM records in San Francisco - the epicenter of West Coast House - should be all that anyone needs to know. However, since I see that you are reading the reviews, you might need more convincing. If this is the case, please let me assure you that Kaskade, and this album, is perfection personified for anyone looking for silky-smooth feel good house music.

This album is a sweet, sexy, mildly thumping ride from beginning to end. It is everything you would expect and hope for when turning to west coast house music. The female vocals (haven't checked to see if it is one vocalist or a couple different ones) are absolutely beautiful - soulful and slinky, yet subdued, never overpowering the the atmospheric music pulsating below.

Give this a listen - "Meditation to the Groove", "I Feel Like", "This Rhythm", "Seeing Julie", and "It's You, It's Me" are personal favorites - then pick it up. Check out other Kaskade albums on this site as well, they're all 5-star productions. I've found that iTunes also has all of his albums along with many, many impossible to find remixes of his singles.

I by no means am prejudice, but this white boy can jam his @$$ off!!! Kaskade's "It's You, It's Me" is one of the best dance CDs that I've heard in a while. But it's not only dance, Kaskade also gives you heavy doses of R&B, funk and ambient grooves. His flavor can be likened to that of Miguel Migs, utilizing soulful vocals and live instrumentation that gives this release a warm, human quality. Nothing here sounds repetitive like most dance releases which makes it truly a highly recommended CD!!!

There is not one bad song on this CD...Kaskade's sound is a cross between Dance and Jazz...with fresh beats and jazzy bass lines. Kaskade moves away from using too much computer generated sound to using instruments. I am highly impressed with this album.

This is the ultimate in feel-good music, brought to us by none other than the amazing Kaskade. This CD will perk you up any time of the day, leaving groove vibes all around. It opens up with Tamra Keenan - Here I Am, a track with booming bass lines through out, and a great voice to back it up. One of my favorites on the CD is Kaskade - Everything. When he played here in Austin, he opened with this track, and it was sublime.

Do yourself a favor and buy this CD!!

As a newbie to this genre of music, I was very pleased with this purchase - this is the ultimate in "feel good" music. The pounding beats and airy vocals that accompany certain tracks just puts & keeps a smile on my face!

What are you waiting for? See Kaskade when he comes to your town. Buy his music you will never go wrong. Here I am, is impeccable! Tamra Keenan has a beautiful voice; you can almost feel her emotion spilling through that voice!

I started seriously listening to lounge music earlier this year and I highly recommend this album. Very easy to listen to over and over again. I've been listening to it in the car as I drive around Berlin and it is just perfect.

This is a nice deep house production. If you like this, check out the first full length CD for producer Quentin Allen as Karu. There are other 12" releases on Silver Network, Dadhouse, Winding Road, Mimosa & Smooth Agent. This CD is a very consistant production with a good blend of jazz, hip-hop, techno, neo-soul, and deep house all together. The beats are very crisp and sound good in the car, the house or the club. Some songs tastefully use vocal snippets to add flavor. There is even a track featuring Warren Harris aka Hanna (Shadow Records, Silver Network, Flat & Round, Freerange). If you want good quality deep house, this CD is for you.

I enjoyed the whole CD. It has a variety of artist with Kaskades unique style. A bit different but very nice.

This is a departure from the smooth, chilled out vibe Kaskade usually brings. That said, Bring the Night is a great time, start to finish. The Axwell groove starts things off with a positive, soulful melody that promises good things to come. The set is rich with Kaskade remixes and plenty of heart-to-mouth vocals reminiscent of your favorite house classics of the early 90s. Kaskade has incorporated the electric synth harmonies so prevalent in recent electronic music without losing his touch for solid house mixing and production. I applaud this release and recommend it whole-heartedly.

I've been a big fan of Kaskade's for a few years now. I love his original CD's - where he produces/creates the music himself. I love turning new people on to his music. So I am very sad to say that his newest "Bring the Night" really left me disappointed.

This is definitely NOT in the same vein of his previous works. It's louder and more annoying. If it didn't have Kaskade's picture on the front of the cover, I would never have guessed it for a Kaskade mix cd.

It's not really smooth, sexy, late-night listening. It was really missing his usual chill-out cool vibes. So if that's what you were hoping for, please look elsewhere.

The really sad thing is that the songs themselves are just not that great, the beats especially. The irritating thing is I know Kaskade could create a much better album if he just did it all himself.

If you're into louder, more club anthems, then maybe you'll like this. But if you're just a fan of Kaskade's other stuff, then I'd steer clear of this one.

This is yet another awesome CD by Kaskade. I have to admit that thier were some songs that didn't quite cut it much for me but still would make awesome club music along with some liquor. My most favorite tracks which i personally love where tracks 1,10 and 15. They hit me soul deep and pretty much the best song i heard to date. If you're gonna be a DJ at a party, this is one CD that will go awesome with your playlist and alot of life to the party. This CD from Kaskade is a must have.

First I must say that i am a big fan of Kaskade, I own all of his CDS and usually go on a listening binge when a new one comes out. But this one didn't really do it to me. Kaskade usually makes and produces his own music, and it is not mixed on the CDs. This cd is him mixing other peoples music. Auh not so good. Sorry I must say, it's almost borderline annoying. I saw him live and he was great, (not miguel migs great) but he performed well, and this cd is a liitle like that. Some djs are better at making and producing music and some are better at spinning it live. I will always listen and love kaskade, but will think twice before i buy another mixed cd from him.

The only thing i can say is this album is just plain good top to bottom.

I absolutely love Kaskade (Ryan Raddon). He just never disappoints and this album is no exception. This is the perfect mix of uptempo, moderately throbbing house beats mixed with hazy, lazy gorgeous downtempo selections. In fact, that is pretty much how the entire CD breaks out, one uptempo for one downtempo track alternating throughout.

The album starts out strong with "Steppin Out", an amazing house track that should get even the most jaded clubber moving in time. Track 2 brings the energy down gently, with an intoxicating female vocal drifting, floating above a sensual soundscape below. "I Like the Way" kicks the beat back in with a hypnotic vocal performance by fellow OM artist Collette. The next track, "Honestly", takes a minute or so to really get going, but it's worth the wait for Amy Michelle's beautiful vocals, which are also featured on the equally impressive downtempo track "Strum". "Sweet Love" and "Everything" feature the vocals of Joslyn, who brings it to both of these slinky ass shakers.

If "Everything" is what happens when Ryan Raddon and Andy Caldwell get together, then they need to spend a lot more time together. Both of them are excellent on their own, but "Everything" renews my faith in the power of collaboration.

The rest of the songs on this album are just as fabulous. If you are even a casual fan of West Coast house, then this one is for you, along with any other Kaskade album. Pick this one up, throw it in the CD player, sit back and prepare for sweet release.

DJ/Producer Kascade has become one of my faves over night, impressive moreso at times than Miguel Migs, Aquanote or Blue Six. His grooves are original, soulful and organic with just the right vocals to accentuate them--neither does Kascade give you the same "four to the floor" beat on every song. The man does know how to change it up a bit. The opening "Steppin' Out" reminds you of a Basement Jaxx track, but without a doubt it still has Kascade's signature all over it. But song highlights on "In the Moment" have to be the thumpin' "I Like the Way" and "Sweet Love," the sultry "Strum" and "Soundtrack to the Soul" and the 80s-influenced "One Love" and "Everything". Of course, every song on here is a stand out track. You'll just have to check this man out and see for yourself!

This is a good album. More jazz than dance if you ask me, but still good. A couple of songs have to grow on you. The first album (It's Me and It's You) is more for a party atmosphere and the second album (In the moment) is for a day you just want to lounge around and sip tea. That is not a bad thing...just a different mood.

I downloaded this album based on the Amazon's recommendation and the reviews. I wouldn't call this album straight-up wack, but it is kind of weak, especially if you're into soulfoul deep house. This guy has been compared to Miguel Migs, but the styles and sounds are totally different. In addition, it's an album not a mix.

This single is unreal. Cna't wait for "Love Mysterious" to come out next week!

I'm not sure what the other reviewers would consider true deep house as. On reading the other reviews there are multiple references to this compilation as a great deep house mix. Right genre, but wrong subgenre. I also disagree on this being considered a great mix. It is pretty average in my opinion. "More For The Living" by Members Only is a cool track but there are too many average house tracks with a couple of weak ones interspersed throughout the mix to considered this a great compilation by Kaskade. A nice listen by not one of the stronger San Francisco Sessions' albums.

This is a great cd to listen to especially if your driving somewhere and dont want to worry about what's going on around you. I live in Los Angeles and this cd takes me away from the non-stop traffic-make sure you turn it up loud. Excellent choice. I bought this cd because I read another review and they were right. Have fun with this one!

This is a really good Deep House effort by Kaskade.

Excellent mixing combined with a great selection of tracks make this CD well worth it's price. It is soulful, jazzy, funky deep house. Smooth, but not chillout. Groovy, but not hardcore dance music. If you like Miguel Migs, Mark Farina, or anything from the Naked Music label, you will enjoy this CD.

I enjoyed more the first part of the CD. Therefore, the 4-star rating. However, there are a few excellent tracks on the second part as well, so it is not all downhill from there by any means. Not at all. Just a couple of weak spots that do not ruin the mix.

Kaskade's entrance into the San Francisco Sessions series of mix albums hopefully signals a return of this excellent, but short-lived, series of featured DJ mixes. And if so, what a return it is.

Kaskade excels as both a producer and a DJ, which shows in this CD, which features many of his own songs, all of which are solid tracks. Add to this his ability to seamlessly blend each track into the next, and you have a very polished mix that will probably see heavy rotation in your CD player if you like the sound of Naked Music from a few years ago (Nude Tempo One, Nude Dimensions 1 & 2). The way Love & Music blends into It's You, It's Me is superb, and the dreamy melt of After The Party into Empty Streets is simply the perfect way to end this mix.

I enjoyed this CD the whole way through, with Gonna Get By feeling like the only track that overstayed its welcome, but not to the point of ruining the mix for me. More For The Living was the only song that seemed out of place, which struck me more than usual since it came near the end of the mix and had such a different sound from the songs that bookend it.

I like the choice of using the Jamie Lewis Dub of The Light instead of the version that's been used on countless other mixes. I enjoy the house diva sound, but not when it overpowers the music, and this version strikes a nice balance between the two.

I must say that the moment that really defines this mix is the final track, Empty Streets, which is one of the dreamiest songs I've heard in a long time, with luscious vocals and beautifully subtle production. Oftentimes, DJ mixes will end abruptly or sound like they ran out of ideas and just decided to let the last record play to its completion, but this track shows a definite competence in the proper way to end a mix. It leaves a lasting impression and prompts you to listen to the mix again. Indeed, a rare touch.

In the end, if you like the sound of Miguel Migs (Nude Tempo One & Nude Dimensions 1), Julius Papp, or Ben Watt (from Everything But The Girl & Lazy Dog/Buzzin' Fly), you're sure to enjoy this mix. While it doesn't do anything particularly new, the quality of the songs and the mixing itself speak for themselves. If this doesn't sound like you (i.e., you're looking for more of the tech-house sound of DJ Dan or the Mushroom Jazz sound of Mark Farina), you won't find it here. However, if you want to give this upbeat, soul-filled sound a whirl, this is a great place to start.

After buying Mark Farina's "CONNECT", a year and a half ago, I fell in love with Kaskade's "Brighter Day", and have bought every and any Kaskade/Ryan Raddon release since...and now since this cd has come out, I have been playing it non stop, and making everyone I know listen to it, too- cause it's that good!!!
I am pretty selective about my music, and what people consider "house",(being from Chicago), and this cd has got the soul, the funk, the beats that I love listening and grooving to.
Every track here on "Soundtrack to the Soul" is tight- but my favorites are 3 (Make My heart), 12(More for the Living), and Kaskade's own tracks with Josyln, (w/her sweet silky vocals) and Finn -5(In This Life) and 6(True). And then, right in the middle of this fab mix, the cd crescendos, with another great remix (More Vox Mix) of It's You, It's Me(track 10), and just blows me away, since I don't think I can EVER get enough of such a great song.Ryan Raddon is such a talent, I am so glad he's out there to make music good again. I will now buy anything he produces, mixes, writes,arranges, etc.
If you want something that will make you feel good, and make you move, GET THIS CD!!! BUY IT NOW!!!
