Kem sounds a lot like Al Jarreau. Smooth, jazzy, with some R & B style make this album a must. I highly recommend this cd for some good old fashioned love songs...

THIS PARTICULIAR CD GIVES AN EAR FOR THE DIFFERENT RANGES THIS ARTIST CAN DO. HE SINGS WITH NO EFFORT, NO STRAIN, JUST A SMOOTH JAZZY TONE WITH SUCH WORDS OF MEANING. I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT SUCH A YOUNG MAN LIKE THIS CAN SING WITH SUCH AN OLD SCHOOL MELODY.

I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THAT THE BABY BOOMERS CHECK THIS ARTIST OUT.

Just like Chocolate Girl, I'm on my second copy of Kemistry...I just re-purchased both Kemistry AND KEM Album II. That's all I wanted for Christmas. I took my husband to see KEM in Detroit this past August (2007 w/Chaka opening), he absolutely blew us away. My husband has me constantly on-line searching for another KEM concert within a day's drive from us (we're road trippers).

KEM was kind enough to give us a sample of what's coming on album three. I'm patiently waiting.

OMG...I just love this CD...I have had it for a few years and recently had to purchase it for the second time. It is soooo soothing to me...I play it when I am traveling a distant, for it certainly allows me to have clarity.....Kem did the thing with this awesome CD...I don't have enough adjectives to use for this this great piece of art....ANYTHING, hearing unheard, I will purchase of this artist. This is one of my ALL time favorite CD. If you haven't gotten it....do so, this CD cuts across, age, gender, and race. Certainly this set of music will not disappoint you and DON'T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT!

First let me say that I love the wordplay used for the title of Kem's debut album. Now on to the music - initially when I heard his first single, LOVE CALLS, I thought it was Al Jarreau but as the song went on I realized that it was a new artist named Kem. The rest of the songs are totally and unmistakably, KEM!!

I love the vibe of this entire album and had a hard time not pressing repeat on a few songs, namely: LOVE CALLS, MATTER OF TIME, SAY & YOU ARE.
Yes, it is more of a "chill out" album but certainly not one that bored me - I found myself paying attention to the adult lyrics and the beautiful music production. I'd highly recommend this disc to lovers of r&b mixed with subtle jazz notes - it's a great debut from a real artist who I hope to hear much more from in the future (despite his sorry label and lack of promotion).

In a world of music where every genre is infected with the same old recycled lyrics, and melodic content that's so repititious it feels like someone's hitting you on the back of the head..... over and over again. In Album II Kem presents us with another dose of original songs that are a musical cross between Jazz, Rhythm and Blues, and little Hot Buttered Soul. The standout R&B hit "I Can't Stop Loving You" is typical of that. It's very hard to classify, but just a few seconds in, you realize that it's something special. There is also "Heaven", which is musically and lyrically unlike any love song that you might hear being played on the radio today. But overall the selections on this album represent a great follow up to "Kemistry", which was one of the better album releases in the last few years. Album II just reinforces the fact that Kem's ability to create beautiful timeless music is not a fluke but a fact, and his original style as demonstrated on "Album II" indicates that Kem is a musical force to be reckoned with for a long time to come.

Love this CD, was turned to this musician by a friend and glad he did!!! Love it, glad to be in my collection.

When I first heard Kem on the radio, I thought Al Jarreau had put out a new album. I was wrong but, even though it's not Al (one of my favorite singers), this album does not dissapoint.

Kem has a smooth, sometimes sultry voice that brings the mood out in all of the tracks on this album. The music and singing are exactly what I think of when I hear the phrase "smooth R&B." If you had an entry for "smooth R&B" in the dictionary, you could put a picture of Kem right beside it.

This CD is great for a quiet night with your spouse/partner/SO. Highly recommended.

Firstly I do really like this music, nice and smooth groves with great mix of bass, drums and rhythm guitar. The first couple of songs I loved, and I started to realise how he sounds very much like Al jerreau. However as an album I feel all the songs start to become quite similar, with quite consistent tempos, and one track begins to blend into the other. Also, although his voice is really nice I think he does over do it abit, especially with the Al Jerreau style noodling throughout the album, but, on say the first track he gets a good mix. Also the lyrics are a bit similar "oh girl"..
Perhaps im being a bit pickey, but as Id rate this as a good album, I dont think its quite as satisfying as say one of Maxwells from begining to end. Saying that I havent listened to this album that much so it may grow on me some more...

The drummer, Ron Otis previous work I havent loved but here he really gets a nice groove and plays v tastefully, so my estimation of him has gone up!

Overall, if you like Al Jerreau, Maxwell ect... then definatly add this to your collection.

Kem has a wonderful sound - little jazz, little R&B - ALL GOOD! At first there were a couple of songs I was not wild about, but it grows on you. The more I listen, the more I like it. Smooth, soulful voice that makes you want to slip into something more comfortable and ask your husband to come home early!

I love this whole CD from track 1 to the end. I like to take this CD with me on long rides.

I love KEM! I have played the CD so much that I may have to buy a new one. I can't wait to see him perform again!

I attended an "open-air" concert last year and first heard Kem's beautiful voice while they were changing the stage for the next act. I was hooked from the beginning of the song to the end. I own both cd's and will buy everyone he puts out until he stops singing which I hope is never! I didn't have a chance to see him perform in Atlanta on March 5th because the tix sold out in minutes the day they went on sale. I hope he come back real soon as this time I will purchase the minute they release the tickets!!

I was extatic to find this soundrack on CD. The price was right as well!The disk arived safe and in great condition. I am very pleased with this purchase.
