Kim Wilde had it all to be one of the greatest musical icon of the 80's, but even more, with her typical voice & music talents, the songs from this album have become irreplaceable in echoing the eternal spirit of punk-wave generations.

i been with kim wilde ever since she started, this girl is great, and she is sooooo cute too, :) a collections of hits you cannot put down and also contains the smash hit single "in my life". i think the song "in my life" is a new direction for her. we need more like that, it's a postive message. yayyy, in my life, everything is feeling good, in my life, feeling like you know it should.

Kim Wilde was definitely one of the best artists of the 80's and 90's. Most of the music today is just unbearable or annoying, which is why I only listen to CDs in my car, most of which are 80's and early 90's CDs. And this collection of Kim Wilde's songs span from her early career to her late career and in chronological order so you can hear the evolution of her voice as it matures and changes, but each song is amazing to hear. You have to listen to these songs in your car or on a system with some bass as it definitely makes the songs sound even more incredible. This compilation is defeinitely worth getting. I was a fan of her "You Keep Me Hanging On", and always wondered what her other songs were like, and then one day I bought the CD and listened to the entire CD in my car and fell in love with the entire CD, except for 2 songs at the end, but the 15 other songs are all worthy hits.

Yeah, I said it. This is mainstream pop. It is good.

This CD really comes to show how much the music industry has deteriorated in the past two decades. Why are talentless camera-hogs like Britney and Jessica constantly getting airplay in lieu of Kim Wilde, I ask? I could think endlessly, for hours, trying to find an answer to this puzzling question, but still probably couldn't. It's an enigma.

Anyways, I had never actually heard of Wilde until a few years ago - and I discovered her music in two different places. The first was through the video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, in which "Kids in America" became a standout favorite of mine, and the second was a cover of "You Keep Me Hangin' On" by the Norwegian band Theatre of Tragedy. I found both songs to be incredibly addictive, so I decided I would try to look for a CD of hers, which brought me here.

The Singles Collection includes 17 excellent pop tracks (or a combination of punk-pop, dancepop and soft ballads) from the 80s and early 90s. Beginning with the faster-paced anthems like "Kids in America" and "Chequered Love", and ending with the calmer, smoother sounds of "In My Life" and the "If I Can't Have You" cover, this compilation offers an excellent insight into the changes of Kim's character and voice over the years. Meanwhile, we have the energetic dancefloor hits "Never Trust a Stranger" and fan favorite "You Came", as well as downtuned ballads like "Child Come Away" and the overlooked "Cambodia" that make you wonder why Kim never completely broke through to the American mainstream.

In conclusion, I think any fan of 80s music should track this down. Although Madonna was the prime diva of the decade, Kim Wilde makes a nice entrance into second place. Classic stuff.

Nope, in fact it was one of the songs that I hated the first time I heard it and can still gather up a load of revulsion for today. The oddball tune that drags this collection up to the .500 line is Pete Shelley's "Homo Sapien". Funny, catchy and just plain clever, but I worry about Pete. Other than that volume 5 barely trips the meter. Welcome to the middle of the new wave road.

My biggest complaint about this particular album is the inclusion of "Hold onto Something" by Great Buildings. Many of these songs define my days in high school, but for the life of me I can't remember ever hearing of this band. However, I do remember hearing this song...or one very much like it -- Joe Jackson's incredibly popular song titled, "I'm the Man," from his album, "I'm the Man" (1979), which was hugely popular through the early eighties.

Re-mixing this album with the correct song would help this album's rating a lot.

The best entry in Rhino's awesome "New Wave Hits" series.(Volume 1 which covers the late 70's is also excellent).All 16 songs are culled from 1982 which was indeed a very good year for pop music. Haircut One Hundred's "Love Plus One" and Flock of Seagulls' "I Ran" were anthems of the(then) young MTV Generation. These quirky video darlings raged like a hurricane of fresh air in the face of bland corporate schlock which hogged the airwaves. Songs like the Go Go's "Vacation" and Tommy Tutone's "867-5309" were not only pure fun-- they were also well-crafted 3-minute pop gems. In fact, nearly every tune on volume 5 is cut from the same intelligent pop mold. Other standouts from this set include the vastly underrated Marshall Crenshaw's "Someday Someway", The Jam's "A Town Called Malice" and Soft Cell's absurdly humorous "Sex Dwarf". The only weak cuts are Gang of Four's "Man in Uniform" and the truly horrible "Art of Parties" by Japan. Overall, this is a fantastic collection which harkens back to a truly innovative time in pop music-- a brief time when catchy Hit Singles ruled and all possibilities seemed endless.

This is my favorite of the series. Actually there are only two cuts that I consider weak ("Kids in America" and "Mickey"). ALl the rest are great little slices of the variety and creativeness of 80's new wave rock. Good c.d. to have.

I have 8 of the cd's in this series, and plan on getting the rest. This one is one of my favorite of the series. The song "Love Plus One" by Haircut One Hundred is a fabulous song. There are many other gems as well, such as "I Want Candy", "Someday, Someway" and "I Ran (So Far Away)". There are many obscure songs on here, so don't expect to know them all, unless you had an unbelievable vinyl collection in the 80's. The music hear can fit almost any mood you may be feeling. Pick it up and enjoy.

This is an amazing collection of Kim Wilde's hits on 1 CD, it has a lot of best of 80's and some best of 90's..
Of course super hits Kids in America, Combodia and who can forget smash You Keep Me Hangin On, that went # 1 in USA.
Kim Wilde has another excellent cover on this album If i can't have you, which was a top 10 all over the world including USA dance club-chart. How can you miss pure Love is Holy written by Rick Nowels.
Of course sit back and enjoy the suprise of this album New song called Loved, its an amazing track # 16, very pop-dance with some electronic flavor song. If you like Madonna, Kylie or Blondie you would love the Very best of Kim

This is a Fanastic collection of Pop Songs, gives you great mood and takes you to a Pop Jurney, First track "Go for it" is very 80's pop but then songs getting more mature like "You Keep Me Hangin on" went # 1 in USA and around the world, Another step is a cool Duet with Junior, Cool Pop songs like You Came & Love is Holy are just adorable, there is a great ballad like 4 Letter word & I can't say goodbye, Never trust a stranger takes you to an angry experience of Miss Wilde with great vocals..And album ends with Soul & R&B meets pop "Breakin Away" and ballad "This i swear". I highly recommend anyone who likes Madonna, Kylie, Belinda, Cindy etc get this one its Goodie :)

Undoubtly, Kim's career is long gone.
She now is a happy mother, stage musical actress (Tommy) and has not released a record in ages.
But just buy this compilation that sums up all of the singles she released when under contract with MCA and you will be able to refreshen some great moments from your memories.

ANOTHER STEP (CLOSER TO YOU) is a nice, rock-driven duet with British '80's black sensation Junior.
YOU CAME is probably the most recognized song for the european market buyers, a real HIT, along with HEY MISTER HEARTACHE (written by Junior) and NEVER TRUST A STRANGER.
FOUR LETTER WORD and I CAN'T SAY GOODBYE are nice ballads, so much as TIME is an uplifting - and under-rated - tune.
LOVE IS HOLY is Kim collaborating with Belinda Carlisle's longtime writing team Rick Nowels (also Madonna...)and Ellen Shipley.

This Collection basically continues after "The Very Best Of Kim Wilde" that has been released in many, and I do mean "many" different formats, such as re-issues. The Collection dates from 1984-1995. This is where you can see the growth in Kim Wilde as an artist. The New Wave is gone, and Pop Is In.

The album opens up with "The Second Time" which I think is a totally hot number! It's very dancey and fun to sing along to.
"Rage To Love" is another pop number, but I don't think it's that good. "You Keep Me Hangin' On" kims biggest single, rocks the place with pain and anger. "Another Step Closer To You" continues and is the original album version, which I prefer over the single version. The seductive "Say You Really Wants Me" heats things up. An extended dance remix of "Hey Mister Heartache" fits in nicely here. The single version of "You Came" with such soul and saddness, is a highlight on the album. The rocking "Never Trust A Stranger" which is more like a sequel to "YKMHO". The slow, and annoying "Four Letter Word". "Love In The Natural Way" is a very beautiful ballad and fits perfectly. "It's Here" an ok-song from her miss "Love Moves" as well as "Time" these songs are gems because "Love Moves" was only released in the UK and was a major flop. One of my favorite songs on here is "Love Is Holy" its a very beautiful up-beat ballad. The cheesy "Who Do You Think You Are". The dance-disco-diva song "If I Can't Have You". Along with her two hits from "Now and Forever" called "Breaking A Way" and "This I Swear"

I know there are a few great songs missing here like: "Heart Over Mind" "Can't Get Enough Of Your Love" "In My Life" and "School Girl" but this album is spectacular, for those of you who just want her hits, I recommend this one and her "Very Best Of Kim Wilde" CD....

A lot of longtime Kim Wilde fans don't like this album as it's such a far cry from her power pop/new wave roots and it's also more mellow than her pop/dance fare. As a US fan who never got the chance to collect all her albums after 1988 until 2 years ago, I can tell you that anyone who is surprised by this album only have themselves to blame. Why? Because the signs were there of her reaching this point from Teases and Dares on up to this project. If "Thought it Was Goodbye" didn't tell you Kim was going in a different direction on that album (particularly since it was the final cut), you weren't paying very apt attention. Every successor to that album became more poppy and soulful, until we got this very slick project that sounds like a Swing Out Sister album more than a few times.

The production is very glossy, the numbers mostly smooth jazz ala SOS and Sade than soul, and Kim sings like an angel on each and every track. There are only three upkey dance numbers, the best of them being the opener "Breaking Away," complete with its gospel rooted vocals. Most of the album is very easy on the ears, and her voice is at its pinnacle in the studio this time. Best songs are definitely "Come On and Love Me" which give Swing Out Sister's "Making the Right Move" an equally sensual but shorter run for the money, "Life and Soul," the hearachingly beautiful title track, and my personal favorite, "You're All I Wanna Do," which should be somebody's wedding song. It's so beautiful that if I get married one day, I think I may consider it!

I've been listening to Kim Wilde since I was 18, and that was in 1982, so I love her in all her phases. You can listen to a lot of the fans who won't let go of the past, or you can let me tell you right now that this is her best album before she gave it all up and became the happy housewife, mother, and gardener. This is a great, romantic soulful album by somebody who has gone on to do better things with her life personally. Close was voted as her best album of all time on a website I frequent, including by myself. While that's true, this is my personal favorite. Kim was never happy as a sex symbol, and if this proves to have been her final studio album despite the rumors of a new album after all, I say it's a gorgeous swan song.

Kim Wilde tried valiantly to shed her old "New Wave" image in favor of a "white soul" diva touch with "Now & Forever". The result: not wholly unsuccessful. Feeding UK tabloids that focused entirely on her "weight issues", a newly svelte Kim landed a high-profile boyfriend and hit the airwaves. The companion album is polished and chart-ready with a lilting soul approach that showcases her rich alto in an entirely new light. Never before has Ms. Wilde sounded so confident as she does on "You're all I wanna do", or "C'Mon Love Me" - neo-soul numbers that seem carved for the darkest lounge rather than the darkest rock clubs of her youth. Though the resulting collection may seem jarring to long-time fans, nobody can argue Ms. Wilde is alien to the trends of the time - more than ten years after its release, "Now & Forever" sounds strangely current. And the prices demanded over internet sales sites only further justify her foray into adult-soul. Though some earlier albums may better succeed in jump-starting your weekend, none are as mature, booming, or just plain "cool" as "Now & Forever".

This was first and only Kim Wilde CD. I bought it when it first came out. And it totally blew me into another kind emotional reality. "European Soul", "Love's A No", & "Four Letter Word" are my favorite tracks, because they speak so close to the heart. As a young man I felt deeply for the CD. I was very saddened when i lost it. But, now thanks to the internet and CD Archive Sites (by that I mean, sites that actually carry copies of old CDs; unlike Rhap(ahem)) I can have this treasure back. Pick this up, before it's lost forever.

There are a few throwaways on "Close" but, this was a surprisingly good find. I found this in the bargain bin sometime in the early 90's a few years after its release. I recalled the catchiness of "You Came" back in 1988 and snapped it up to see what else was on it. It's most definitely a pop album, nothing deep or grandiose.

But, some of the most nicely polished pop music of mainstream contemporary music of the 80's is found on this. "Close" seems absent of a lot of the over the top over-production that bogged down much of her contemporaries from that era. There are several great tunes here, all pleasant and listenable, some with a bounce. I can only conclude a sufficient lack of promotion caused this release to tank commercially. A shame - there are several reedeeming songs on this.

My personal picks: The leadoff single "You Came", The soothing pop sophistication of "European Soul", The nice balladry of "Love's A No", and the smart and snappy "Love's A Four Letter Word". On these tunes, Kim Wilde really displays some genuine vocal prowess and finesse. I also like "Lucky Guy" and "You'll Be The One Who'll Lose". It's a big change from her earlier and more edgier efforts. I like those too...but her foray here into more adult contemporary oriented pop is pulled off with surprising panache.

You could say I bought this album because "the chick looked hot on the cover", but the truth is that when I listened to it, she blew me away! This is an incredible album. My favorite is 'You Came', but really every song is excellent.

By 1988, Kim Wilde had fully made the transition from New Wave artist to pop star, and 'Close' is a pop masterpiece which sadly remains out of print to this date. It features a number of perfect pop singles 'You Came', 'Hey Mr. Heartache', 'Four Letter Word', and 'Never Trust a Stranger'. The production is top-notch and Wilde's mix of pop and HI-NRG dance was certainly edgier than anything out of the Stock-Aitken-Waterman factory.

This was Wilde's peak as a pop star since she only released material sporadically in the years following. If you can find this album, buy it because it's a real find.

Close sees Kim embracing lush pop, ditching the rock-edged sound of 1986's Another Step. The album is more consistent, with better lyrics, and shows Kim's romantic nature more than ever.

I don't know why she chose the mid-paced dance number "Hey Mister Heartache" to be the first single. It has a decent enough beat, but as single material?

The bubbly and celebratory "You Came" is one of Kim's best songs ever, about the inspiration and transformations a special someone can cause: "Cos in the space of a year/I've watched the old me disappear" and the exchange of temporary things for something permanent. And this failed to hit the Top Forty in the US? Words simply fail me.

Love is the "Four Letter Word", and the piano and string arrangement make this mid-paced sad number more lush. When love goes, "the feeling is bad--it's the pits of the world" and the female protagonist wants to die and hide those tears. The bridge lyrics ask a timeless question: "How can something that's so beautiful/just Jekyll and Hyde around/It's too sad..."

The slow-paced "Love In The Natural Way" details the double-edged sword of love, but the bridge lyrics sum up the theme: "When love's the culmination/of everything you feel/well it's the only thing that's precious/it's the only thing that's real."

Ah yes, "Love's A No". One of the saddest and best Kim Wilde songs I've ever heard follows with this power pop ballad. If you thought "Four Letter Word" was sad, this is tragic. A girl says no to a commitment because she has been burned. The emotion rises to a crescendo after "then I got hurt." However, one small section offers hope and asks for forgiveness and patience: "One day-I don't know when/maybe we can try again/maybe all I need is time/hold me then say goodbye/don't hate me-for all the things I've said."

Thematically "Never Trust A Stranger" is a fiercer version of the previous song, starting with a rock guitar and sound left over from Another Step. Add "with your heart" to the song title and you get the topic. See what happened to Kim: "My world is in pieces/You've stolen my pride/And I'm left defeated and crushed by your lies." Also, "Like a tiger you hunted and tracked me down/savaged my soul and took over control."

The slow "You'll Be The One Who'll Lose" with a nice guitar has Kim warning a "girl in every town" guy that in the long run, he'll lose.

"European Soul" has a beat and rhythm like Madonna's "La Isla Bonita" only the lyrics and lush piano makes it a pleasant dive into a cool lake as she celebrates the European mystique: "I touch the paintings with the fingers of my heart." Kim's romantic nature comes out: "The world's realities are not to be denied/But must we keep destroying all our fantasies/It's hard to look beyond when terror fills our eyes/We mustn't give up trying to let our dreams survive."

The synth-intense "Stone" as in "carving our fate in stone" and the strong beat left over from the Another Step album is a reminder that despite SALT I of the 70's and the 1987 Reykjavik summit, there still was the spectre of Dr. Strangelove haunting the world: "they've signed on some paper/to end all the fear/but this propaganda is perfectly clear/they're still building and testing/but what can we do/condemning the seas/and the land and the trees to a tomb" and "You can't close your eyes to the lies perpetrated by dnagerous fools." It's still timely in today's political atmosphere: "They're carving up our fate/why don't they leave us alone?"

The piano and strings of her cover "Lucky Guy" about someone superhuman makes a more fitting ending rather than a 12" remix of "Hey Mister Heartache": "Some people don't seem real at all/unafraid of any mountain/sure that the gods won't let him fall/should he fall, he will always get up again." As Kim sings, "I wish I were that lucky guy."

Unwisely, MCA America dropped Kim Wilde, while she continued to make such great albums such as Love Moves and Love Is in the UK, where she was better appreciated. The only improvement would've been to ditch "Hey Mister Heartache" altogether, but otherwise, one of my all-time favourite albums.

I was worried that all of the positive reviews were coming from fans who would love anything new with Kim Wilde's name on it. But boy was I wrong!

This is a fun, updated Kim Wilde that I thoroughly enjoyed. It's slightly more guitar heavy than her earlier stuff, but it didn't lose any of the electronic and fun side I've enjoyed from earlier Kim Wilde songs. Not only did a number of the songs become quick favorites, but the remake of Kids in America is a perfect upgrade to the original for the year 2006.

Pick it up! You'll enjoy it!

I've been a fan since the early days and watched her continued progress with joy. This album keeps the old Kim style but adds the edge from her first albums. Even if you're not a "fan," this is solid, well-produced contemporary pop. Welcome back! You've been missed.

It took a decade, but Kim has finally released an album that brings her back to her pop-punk and new wave roots. After a tease of a `new wave' sounding rocker with Nena a few years back, she brings it all home with this album, which is a perfect blend of guitar punk-pop and electro dance tracks, including remakes of many of her classics. Personally, I'd have preferred it be ALL Kim on Kids in America, but it doesn't really hurt the flow of things, and it's cool to have Nena return the duet favor on You Keep Me Hangin On. Here's the balance:

1. Perfect Girl (perfect punk pop, with great rhythm guitar and a sexy girl group melody reminiscent of Kim's classics from the early 80s. My vote for next single with a kick butt electro house mix!!!)
2. You Came (rock remake of her synthdance classic from the late 80s. I prefer the groovenut dance mix on the import CD single. Get it while it's hot!)
3. Together We Belong (slower rocker, great catchy chorus)
4. Forgive Me (crazy sexy synth/electropop dance track)
5. Four Letter Word (was never crazy about the original, but this version, still a downtempo track, is somewhat better)
6. You Keep Me Hangin On (duet with Nena, excellent synthdance update)
7. baby obey me (eek! This sounds like a Red Hot Chilli Peppers song--think "Under the Bridge")
8. Kids In America (so hard for ANYONE to remake this classic, even Kim herself. This duet sounds like something that would have been remade by Hilary Duff for one of her films, the way she remade the Go-Gos)
9. I Fly (major punk-pop rocker)
10. Game Over (another punk-pop rocker)
11. Lost Without You (moody, grungy rocker)
12. View from a Bridge (a speedy electropop dance remake--chorus sounds awkward this fast, but overall, a good modern remake)
13. Maybe I'm Crazy (the most commercial house/dance track on here. Catchy, maybe too catchy)
14. Cambodia (disappointed. Expected more from an Oakenfold mix of this remake. It's a trancy breakbeat mix that sort of takes kim's vocals for granted)

After 11 long years, Ms. Wilde returns with her 10th album of original music, aptly titled NEVER SAY NEVER. See, Kim, it never pays to say you have retired from the music business! :) Your fans won't let you!

Being one of Kim's strongest fans in the U.S., I have been on pins and needles to get this CD. It's been in my CD player since the day I got it from Germany and WOW there is not a disappointing track on it. Welcome back Kim! You have made me (and so many, many other fans) very, very happy!

1 PERFECT GIRL: When Kim said she was going to do a rock chick CD, she was not kidding. What a perfect opening song! Sort of reminds me of the duet she did recently with Nena ANYTIME ANYWHERE ANYPLACE.

2 YOU CAME: So much has been said about this remake. So beautiful, and video is fantastic! (Buy the Deluxe edition. I thought the DVD player would have to be able to play PAL format -- which mine does -- but this played fine in my NTSC iMac. You get the video for this song and In Bed With Kim Wilde - the alternate video!)

3 TOGETHER WE BELONG: Beautiful, sexy song. The beginning is so nice, again Nena-ish / Kim Wilde AAA sound.

4 FORGIVE ME: If there was ever a song to wake us up about how we are destroying our world, this is it. Haunting lyrics, gorgeous melody!

5 FOUR LETTER WORD: Always one of my most favorite Kim songs, this remake is now a beauty. Even more beautiful than the original!

6 YOU KEEP ME HANGIN ON FEATURING NENA. How nice to see Nena be a part of Kim's grand comeback. Great song (again)! The original video for this song is still a dance club classic!

7 BABY OBEY ME: The slowest song on the CD, it's beautiful.

8 KIDS IN AMERICA: What would an album of remade Kim classics be without this song? Still the best!

9 I FLY: Another rock chick song! Fantastic! I predict this will become a radio staple before long.

10 GAME OVER: Sexy drums and ryhtms, this song could have been on any of Kim's original RAK albums... it's that classy!

11 LOST WITHOUT YOU: Haunting, sexy, a classic in the making.

12 VIEW FROM A BRIDGE: A welcome Kim original remake, this one is even sexier and more haunting. An excellent selection to remake!

13 MAYBE I'M CRAZY: On Kim's You Came 2006 single, this song is strong enough to stand on it's own. As a matter of fact, I am surprised it was not released by itself as a single. One of my favorite new Kim songs! Excellent, most excellent. Let's see a hot video for this!

14 CAMBODIA Paul Oakenfield Remix: a fitting remake to end this fantastic new album.

Now buy it! Let's make Kim's comeback the best comeback ever! Her fans have known for years that she had much more music in her. Let's hope this is just the beginning of many, many more years of new music!

KIM RETURNS IN FANTASTIC FORM, NOW LET'S SUPPORT HER!

There are many compilations which feature tracks from Kim Wilde's first two EMI albums; this is the only single-disc collection which emphasizes content from her third, and most difficult to find, album. Containing 8 out of 10 tracks from her 1983 release Catch As Catch Can, plus a few non-album singles and B-sides from the same era, this CD finds Wilde hovering somewhere between the energetic new wave sound that she initially was known for and the more commercial dance-oriented pop she would explore for the rest of her career. The brash "House of Salome" stands alongside "Kids in America" as a post-punk masterpiece, while the lyrics of "Child Come Away" continue the story-song approach cowriters Ricky Wilde and Marty Wilde frequently mined. The ballads "Can You Hear It" and "Stay Awhile" rank as some of the Wilde's best recordings. There's a treasure trove of good songs here, taken from Wilde's most elusive album.

The album could be good if it was not for the disappointing fact that on a so called "Greates Hits" album her greatest hit (Cambodia) does not appear in the original version.
I've read it was for "time constraints"??? So they did have time to put a "reprise" of the song but not the original? Is this a joke?
On top of that, the cover does not mention this fact but in the rear side, whereas the front lists the song among the highlights of the album!
It is obvious that it had to do either with some producer's rights or with sales policy. In the first case it is her management's duty to bring such things in order. In the latter it is utterly annoying and a lack of respect for fans and customers (I had bought the CD mainly because of this song and was correspondingly disappointed), which is why my rating of this release is: "I don't like it!"

This compilation is actually Kim Wilde's first two albums, her self-titled debut and "Select," with the tracks resequenced. The only track missing is the full version of the still haunting track "Cambodia," presumably cut for time constraints, as the instrumental reprise is included instead. These albums are the reason a teenage version of me was wild about Kim Wilde. Her first single, "Kids In America," was, of course, the reason I picked up the first album in 1981, but I had to get "Select," released the next year, as an import. As much as I love the first album, "Select" is the better release, as she changed direction from the New Wave pop exemplified by that first single to what would become known as synth pop. The album actually holds up much better than her debut, and I think listeners will be a bit startled at how contemporary most of it sounds, as so many bands are mining this era for their own new releases now. The lyrics are an often strange mixture of bubble gum and genuine darkness, but the juxtaposition definitely keeps things interesting. All in all, this is a pretty excellent buy, as you get her debut album AND her classic second album, the latter currently out of print, for the price of one CD. And that makes good financial sense.

I always liked Kim Wilde, and I love this cd because is showcases some on the tracks only availble on her album "Select" which is as far as I know, still only availble in vinyl. She went into a sort of new wave techno style after her first release in America that wasn't released in the staes, and this cd has some of that great music. I feel this showcases Kim at her very best, with catchy songs and terrific production. A sound all her own. In her later years in the 90's, she bacame very commercial and sort od bland, but this cd shows just how much fun Kim could be. Oh, and my copy has a different cover than the one pictured here.

At 17 I am probab;y one of the youngest people to own this CD and usually I love punk music and rock I guess. But the main thing I love them for are the emotion and the fact that they often aren't scared to say things. And thats why I like Kim Wilde - okay she didnt write her own songs but they fit her very well and she is willing to sing things that pop stars don't usually talk about. For example attempted suicide(view from the bridge) and prostitution (2-6-5-8-0. Can you imagine Britney Spears or Hilary Duff talking bout tha?
My favourite tracks are definately:

2-6-5-8-0 (I really happy catchy even funny song about a prostitute....)

Ego(An angry but catchy song denouncing an ex boyfriend...its almost avril-esque..only more poppy)

Words fell down(another dumb boyfriend song...but very catchy)

This is a kind of eighties singer that is hard to find nowadays.A melodic ,melancolic singer with a soft voice and wonderful synth sounds that makes you fly high and feel those sounds in your heart.There is also a top production behind every Kim Wilde album.This album contain the best K.Wilde songs ever recorded.One of my favourite albums absolutely!!!
