What else can be said about Kristine W? Her voice is impeccable: strong, yet silky. She's one of the very few truly talented dance music artists out there.

Her voice and musical selections never disappoint. This Christmas album is no different. Even non-dance fans will enjoy this. It's different, it's fun, and it showcases that wonderful voice!

Although Ms W is a dance club diva, she is so much more - IMO, one of the greatest voices in music. This impressive CD showcases the talented vocalist. I've been completely hooked on "The Wonder of It All" - a hauntingly beautiful song. The Remix CD is a great bonus. "I'll be Your Light" is one of my favorite dance songs.

After her courageous battle with cancer, acute myeloid leukemia (AML), a bone marrow biopsy and a stem cell transplant earlier in the decade, Kristine W is back and ready to "Fly Again" with this 2003 release ... Exactly is what happened, Kristine who I have been a Fan of since the "Feel What U Want 1994 Days", has been consistant with songs, as well as a great arrangement of remixers, like Hex Hector, Pete Rauhofer, Junior Vasquez, Thunderpuss and the remarkable Tony Moran, to name a few. This 2003 release is just wonderful. A 2 disc CD set with # 2 a non stop remix CD by Chris Cox (of Thunderpuss Fame)worth the $$$ alone. But to own this remarkable CD, and to read the enclosed dedication's, I had no Idea, The title "Fly Again" would be as appropriate as it is. K.W. fought a battle and won, with the help of Stem Cell Treatment, You will have to buy the CD for the details, but someone above is watching over this amazing woman, and it was not her time to go, it was on the other hand time to "Fly Again" The CD is excellent, makes you smile, dance and cry at times with all her heart felt emotions put to music, and becomming one of my all time favorite CD's. Amber did it again...as soon as I heard the first single FLY AGAIN, I know that I have to buy this album and come to my surprise all her songs are just awesome..I love her since her first cd and up to now especially that this cd is more personal to her..its always exciting to hear a cd that has a personal touch on it...

This song is so inspiring. You have to see the video. I just wish they would've put that on here but I do like the idea of mixing my own version of this song. All you have to do is put it into your computer and install the software and you're on your way to mixing your own version of this song. Very cool. Also they didn't add the Album Version on here but if you have the album FLY AGAIN (which I do) then you won't have to worry.

As for the remixes:

1. The Radio Edit - This is just a small version of the dance mix. It merges the brige a little closer to the ending so it's kinda short but good.

2. The Remix Radio Edit - This is a shorter version of Track 3. Nice for those who don't wanna dance that long. ha ha

3. The Jack Elliot & Mac Quayle Remix - This is the most known remix on this cd. It lasts about 8:00 min and is worth every min. Kristine's vocals are pretty much the same throughout.

4. The Wayne G Remix - This is the more techno of the remixes and also lasts 8 min. Her vocals on this one are the same but as you near the ending she ends up singing new ad-libs and resinging the chorus. Very good

5. The Ian Nieman Remix - This is also another techno type remix that focuses on her vocals more. When you get to the bridge they hang on to her voice and lengthen it out until she comes back and sings the last chorus. I like this one.

6. Tony Moran Remix - This is the longest mix here (9:00 min) and is I think the darker version of the mixes. Dark in that the background is more deep and the vocals are more sporatic she also resings the song and is much the same as the others.

Overall the mixes on this cd are very good and the software is very awesome I am trying it as we speak I will get back to you on how it works.
But also check it out for yourself.

I'm totally hooked on this song. You can easily lose yourself by listening to this music for hours.

I love powerful music, and this is a great club anthem. I have heard it in the clubs a few times and Im totally hooked.

This is a great compilation CD single. The artist put a lot of time and effort. She obviously sang the tracks over for each of the remixes.

It's been years since I've bought Kristine W's "Land of the Living" CD. I never bothered purchasing "Stronger" as I've heard it was a pretty lame "pop dance" type CD and was nowhere near the level of her debut CD.

Hence this review. Granted, Kristine W's most ardent fans will defend whatever she does without a doubt, and rightfully so. She truly is a talented woman. In addition to singing, she plays the sax, and the guitar if I'm not mistaken. She's co-written 10 of the 13 tracks of this CD. And although I haven't seen her live (but would love to), it's clear from video of her performances that I've seen, KW clearly enjoys what she is doing - not for the fame (that's just a bonus), but with her, it seems it's from the heart.

So in a couple of ways, yes, this CD is a bit disappointing. One track in particular on this CD, "If Only You Knew", is just HIDEOUSLY awful, far beneath Kristine W's caliber and it belongs on a Miley Cyrus CD in the Disney days. It's not a surprise to me this is one of the songs she didn't write for this CD. Although marginally better, "Piece of Me and You" and "That's How it Goes" is nothing to write home about, either - and KW did co-write those two, but hey, a girl's gotta eat, right?

That explains the "mainstream" aspect of this CD that is clear when compared to "Land of the Living". LofL is, indeed, an adult, mature CD - not your average dance-oriented CD and a modern classic (and if you haven't listened to it, you really should). Something tells me that RCA management said in a meeting to Kristine W "Yeah honey, we need to make money off of you...therefore, we are going to force you to put some pablum on your next CD as "Land of the Living" was too sophisticated for the general pubic of unemotional listeners - they need *generic*" - or something to that effect (and yes, I do have a bit of bias towards greedy record executives). Perhaps that's why she went to an independent label for her third CD "Fly Away".

I have to defend "Stronger" regardless of the clunkers on it. It *is* Kristine W after all, and this woman in my opinion is a goddess (I'm not an ardent disciple of Kristine, but I'm pretty damn close, esp. lately). In addition, some of these songs are just plain FUN - "Lovin' You" is one of the best tracks on the CD, and I actually prefer the original version here to the remixes (unusual for me). "Clubland" is wonderful with it's jazz/club/latin feel to it.

"Stronger", the opening title track is also nice - I *love* how Kristine transitions the key of her voice midway through the first verse with such ease - MMMMM...just delicious - a mere hint of her powerful and gifted voice. The chorus is also worth a mention..."My love is stronger than your pain, stronger than your fears, sweet enough to wash the salt from your tears". Love it.

"Waters Run Deep" is probably my favorite track on this CD: this is a song that clearly should've been big on adult contemporary radio stations - a shame it didn't happen - and I don't care if the lyrics are "cliché" as some have said - cliché wouldn't be that if it didn't have an element of truth to it - nearly everyone has probably experienced a relationship gone to pieces and tried to fill the void with someone new while their "mind works in rewind and repeat"...brilliant! It's a fantastic song showcasing Kristine's versatility as an artist. I will give credit to "All That Glitters" as well. It's a bit different for a primarily dance-oriented artist, and Kristine sounds relaxed and confident singing it.

The rest of it falls somewhere in between. I can't believe I'm about to say this, but some of these tracks almost sound like they should belong on the most overrated, most awful CD's in the history of music (Yes, Cher's "Believe"... great woman, but c'mon, what a generic, terrible disc). Still, Kristine's presence alone elevates songs like "Let Love Reign", and "Stand in Love" to at least a few notches above *anything* put out by the mainstream Top 40 Music machines.

Kristine W has a deep, unique voice and I enjoyed all of the songs on this CD EXCEPT Clubland. Yes, it does have more of a 'pop' feel, but it's still an awesome CD. When there's a difference in music (or producer) selection between CD's, sometimes more than one listen through shows how versatile an artist can be. It WAS different from the Land of the Living, but it's still a solid CD.

I bought Land Of The Living and Stronger within 2 weeks of each other. I listened to Land of the Living and thought it was absolutely amazing. I get Stronger and two things threw me off...first off, she was a blonde and looked nothing like she did on her Living cover, and second, most of the songs on Stronger sound like something I would expect to hear on a Britney Spears album. The only tracks that especially stoo out for me were "Clubland" (the jazz feel makes it sound like a sequel to "Jazzin'" on her Living album), "Waters Run Deep" (I didn't know she could play sax, go 'head grrl!), and "Let Love Reign" (only because the first 20 seconds of it sounds like the beginning of a drum 'n' bass track). I appreciate the effort, but she can do better. Another reason why I gave this album 3 staqrs was because sometimses a bad producer can make or break an album. Rollo was partly responsible for her masterpiece Land of the Living, and is NOWHERE to be found here. Like I said, Kristine can do much better.

When I first heard the "Land of the Living" video playing at Rich's in Houston, everybody ran to the dance floor. Then I tried to look at the video and was totally blown away at the strong, gospel-like voice coming from this beautiful white woman. Her voice control, inflection, tone and emotion put into the song almost made me cry right there!! I was immediately a fan of this soon to be discovered diva. And here we are three years later and she is still astounding all of us with her great talent. I can't wait for her next album release which I'm sure will be pure ear candy!!

This is Kristine W's second album, and a lot more mainstream than her first one. Kristine wrote 9 of the 13 songs on the album. My favorite song on the album is the #1 hit "Lovin You" which is infectuous and fun to listen to. "If Only You Knew" is another favorite, very bouncy and energetic. The title track is another #1 hit. I dock 1 star from the album for a few reasons. Two songs in particular, "Clubland" and "Shower The People", do not work. "Clubland" I just can't enjoy with her vocals on the song and "Shower The People" is a poor cover of a James Taylor song that does NOT work as a dance song. As well, the songwriting on some songs (like "All That Glitters") is too cliche and obvious for my taste. However, it's a fun dance album. Other highlights include "Pieces of Me And You", "Stand In Love", "Let Love Reign" and "Never Been Kissed". Club heads will love this CD.

After seeing her perform here in a local club here in Houston Texas a few years ago I was compelled to buy Kristine W's "Stronger" cd. I liked especially track number two which is "Lovin'You" and knew then that I had to find the cd maxi single remixes of the same song. The dj's Hex Hextor, Richard Humpty, Junior Vasquez, and Johnny Vicious did more than an outstanding work with this song making it a personal classic in my "favourites" of dance music. For those of us who know and like "off tha chain" dance music "lovin' You" will MOVE YOU. I truly believe that Kristine W's "lovin' You" is a much better cd maxi than her current cd maxi "Some Lovin." The remixes on the latter sound too repititious even though it topped Billboard.

I met Kristine few years ago in a tv show in Montreal and I totally fell in love with her! (Especially when she smiled at me so nicely!!) I was totally addicted to her dance hit "Feel what you want" back then. And I still am.

This maxi single is a must-have. Seven long mixes for your delight. If you like pure dance music and club remixes, you won't be disapointed. Except for tracks 5 and 6, which I found deeply boring compared to the other ones, I liked all the remixes. Each of them is catchy and plays differently with Kristine's remarkable vocals. Track 1 is the Hex Hector's remix and is definitely my favorite. Track 7 is a dub version of Hex's mix...to make the pleasure last longer!

Where I live, Kristine's singles, even her albums, are hard to find and expensive. I never found anyone (in one of my local stores) who actually knew who Kristine W was. I guess she's more popular in Europe.

Go buy all of her albums now!! ;o)

"Lovin' You" proves that Kristine lost her talent.
Where's the originality of gems like "feel what you want" or "Land of the leaving"? Just bad remixes of a terrible track without feelings, empty.
This CD is an insult to all serious house/garage lovers.
I think "Lovin' you" should be called dust because that's what it's going to collect.

This is a nice addition to my Kristine W. Collection. I especially loved the Humpty Vission Remix! Kristine W. will always have an audience because her music comes from the heart and soul.

Kristine W is a versatile artist, and "Lovin' You" displays her flirtation with pop. Of course it doesn't compare to "Feel What You Want" or "Land Of The Living", but again, aren't we comparing apples and oranges here?

Lovin' You is a feel-good declaration of love and should be appreciated as such. The remixes are spectacular, particularly the one by Motiv8.

All Kristine fans should enjoy this one, and keep this in mind: She's working away on her follow-up album!!!!! Keep checking (her website) for more news!!

I bought this album in August 1996, on the strength of a review in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch (which ordinarily doesn't review obscure, underground dance albums) which called Kristine W. the '90's Donna Summer. Well, that was good enough for me, and on a trip to Charleston, WV, I found the cassette version at, of all places, the mall record store there. I've since bought it twice on CD, the first one having been stolen, the second one autographed at her concert at St. Louis Gay Pride in '04.

The Post-Dispatch review didn't do the album justice, as I expected a disco-ey collection of music. Instead, this was idiosyncratic, true underground house music, thanks, I'm sure, to the production influence of Rollo & Rob D. In fact, her subsequent albums, while enjoyable and catchy, have gone in a more mainstream, pop-dance direction, and they just don't grab me like the first one did.

But there's That Voice. Listen to her sing the phrase "shoeshine blues" in Feel What You Want, and I dare you not to get a shiver down your spine. That Voice is what makes me a loyal fan; I would probably buy a CD of her singing German oom-pah music.

Live, Ms. Weitz is a multi-talented one-woman band. She sings to backing tracks but also plays percussion and saxophone and a couple of other instruments I've probably forgotten. A tightly choreographed routine is supported by back-up dancers, and she did not falter during the humid St. Louis summer heat, earning, for me, the title of The Hardest Working Woman In Show Business. (Note: LOVED the review of the guy who described in minute detail her outfit when she performed in '94 in Boystown - LOL)

Hello everyone! I first Saw Kristine W perform at the now defunct club called Vortex in Chicago's "Boystown" here on Halsted Street in 1994. The moment she stepped out onto the stage the whole audience was in awe. Her song "Feel What You Want" had been being played in heavy rotation all summer long('94) in the clubs, so finally people were able(especially me) to put a face with the name and song. I think it was Thanksgiving weekend(Sat. nite to be precise). She came out in an all platinum white/cream pant suit w/ matching white high heel shoes and a "V" bang short platinum blonde wig. And to top if off Kristine W had three to four platinum feather boas cascading behind her that were attached to an all white headdress. Plus she was wearing tight silk gloves that were also a crisp white while emmiting that husky yet soulful instrument into a microphone head set. She was the epitome of glamour and was so striking that she resembled a porcelin doll or that of the "white queen" in a chess set. Most of the people I was standing next to were in shock and saying,"Man, this chick can sing!" I was utterly transfixed with Kristine's voice and classy presence. She had single handedly brought Glamour back to this grim, dark and often times pretentious club. Kristine W. was singing a faster, up tempo(to this day I cannot find) club vocal version of "Feel What You Want". She followed it up with I think "Let Me In" where she was playing to the audience- naming names and stating,"Man I gotta be there...so come on LET ME IN!" By this time, the audience was so riled up in delight with Kristine W, that I believe that we all crowned her the new dance diva of Halsted St. She and her two female backup dancers made a couple of costume changes and showered us with more of her dance cuts which were to eventually to of become instant dance anthems- "One More Try" and I think it was "Land of the Living" but not 100% sure. She also did a cover medley of "Hot Stuff" and "She Works Hard for the Money which DONNA SUMMER would've been very proud of. While performing this number, I noticed the people at the front edge of the stage were so excited that they were hanging onto KRISTINE W's green-sequined dress with green banana leaf type accessories which may have been made of chiffon or silk taffeta(?). It was very Fellinisque. At this moment, I was thinking to myself, "Boy, KRISTINE W is really giving us an all out, 110%, non-stop, all heart performance!"
Afterwards, she stayed and autographed photos for a massive line of newely christened KRISTINE W fans. I was so nervous to talk to her but she immediately put me at ease. I asked her what the "W" stood for and she responded,"Oh it's for Weitz." She was so polite and engaging and probably thinking,"Oh my feet are aching.",(ha,ha- just kidding KRISTINE W if you're reading this). While doing her signing, the D.J. was playing her promo c.d.(which I ended up winning afterwards in a karaoke contest), "Feel What You Want" Came on and I sang a couple of verses in front of her, as if it were an impromtu audition. She looked at me in amazement as if she was thinking,"Man, this boy can sing!" Anyways, I'm not conceited but I loved "Feel" so much that I had to bust out a line or two and especially in front of the artist who created it. From that moment on, I became a true KRISTINE W fan and have bought almost everything KRISTINE W has put out(not counting some of those very hard to find imports and that uptempo club vocal version you sang that night Kristine). Maybe someone will notice the demand and put out a c.d. of these rare versions/remixes or reissue them on vinyl(I have a record player-hint,hint). Fans and new people coming on board "LAND OF THE LIVING" is a must have- it's a staple in your KRISTINE W collection. Also try to find "A PERFECT BEAT", KRISTINE'S 1ST album. It has a track:"GIVE ME TONIGHT" that appears on the movie soundtrack of Patrick Swayze's film,"ROADHOUSE"(1989)-I just saw it on cable a few days ago.

I originally bought the cd back when it first came out, and fell in love with the cd. I love Kristine. I also bought her second cd and just purchased her newest cd. I went back through my collection to play Land of The Living because it is my favorite of all three... "what? ... where the $&#(*$&#n is it?" I lost the friggin cd!!! so what did i do? I bought another copy. It is one of my favorite cd's of all time.... i couldnt go without my Kristine W!!.... well worth the money. A must have for anyones collection.

Kristine W's Land Of The Living is by far the most amazing album I have ever purchased. Kristine is one of those amazing white singers that could easily be mistaken for a black woman if you only heard her voice and never saw her face (a la Lisa Stansfield). Standout tracks for me include:

"Land Of The Living" - the song starts off like that in a cabaret bar and then proceeds into full-on house, and her throaty vocals are amazing.

"Love Song" - one of the very few love songs where love and sex are both present.

"Let Me In" - again her vocals blew me away. I love the latin percussion on this track.

"Feel What You Want" - it starts off with eerie trance chord progression and then shfts into a house song

"Prairie Day" - the prelude to "One More Try". It was so beautiful, it should have been its own song.

"Don't Wanna Think" - as soon as the beat comes in, you can tell that the song is going to rock.

As far as music is concerned, this is probably one of the best investments that I've ever made. I love dance music, but not too trancy or electronical. I bought this album on a wimp because of the cover.
I could not believe the powerful voice behind such a delicate face. Every single track is purely fun, memorable, and classic. The opening track, 'breath,' is so effective and affective. Its cresendo is very inspiring and rejoycing. My favorite of all is "I don't want to think."
Her voice is so big and not as over-dramatized or annoyingly showy as Celine Dion's (yuck). Kristine W is the one artist that I won't hesitate to invest my hard-eaned money into talent. I already bought her second album and loving it.

What only 5 star's ? that is way to few to give this cd. I must say I brought this cd after I heard the song lovin you I toke a chance and brought the import and let me tell you if you have the u.s. copy sell it the extra songs for jpn are really good and is money well spent if you do not have this cd get it kristine really has a lot of diffrent sounds going on this cd the river divides is a engima styled song I think this should have been put on the u.s. copy.the other extra song is upbeat some what like her 1st cd . All in All a 10 star cd. Kristine W has made me A long time fan and I can not wait to see what she will do next

I am thrilled that Kristine W chose to remake "The Boss", which is in my opinion the greatest dance song of Diana Ross' career. If you like Kristine W this single is a must have. Tracy Young delivers the best mix of all, though the mixes by Jamie Sanchez and Paul Goodyear are excellent too. Before this single I'd never heard of Jamie Sanchez or Paul Goodyear before so I was pleasantly surprised at how good their mixes are, and would expect that they will be doing remixes for other artists in the future since Kristine W's "The Boss" is now a #1 Billboard Club Play hit. If you're new to Kristine W, be sure to get your hands on her albums "Fly Again", "Stronger", and "Land Of The Living". She has another recent single out called "Walk Away" which is labeled as Tony Moran featuring Kristine W. She did something similar a few years back when she released "Some Lovin" under the name Murk featuring Kristine W- but in both cases she was the only vocalist.

For those of you who are fans not just of Kristine W, but who like the song enough to want Diana Ross' version... here's some information that you may want to know: There is a house music remix of the Diana Ross recording by David Morales. It's on Diana Ross' "Diana Extended: The Remixes" album. Other Diana Ross versions include the original and 12" version which are on Diana's re-released "The Boss" album, and there is an alternate 12" version on the 2CD deluxe edition of Diana's "Diana" album.

I hadn't heard of Kristine W until I heard this song. Have been listening to Gabriel & Dresden mix and I have been playing it over and over and still haven't got sick of hearing it. I absolutely love this version. What great lyrics and for someone like me who doesn't buy dance music for the lyrics this song sends chills down my spine. I love it !!! recommend this song to anyone.

Never heard of Christine W. but bought it without listening to it. Put it on my mp3 player for the gym and SHE IS AWESOME! What a great voice, fantastic pulsing beat and all the remix versions are great. Don't pass this one up!

I got this cd and I love Kristine from the her first cd "Land Of The Living" so i knew i would be satisfied. Well it went way beyond that! I love this song so much i could just sit through all of the mixes and still be singing the chorus.

The best one i have to say is the [Gabriel + Dresden Bootleg Mix]I have to say that this is a very long and good one because of the beat and She redoes the vocals. If you listen to the first one and then skip to this one you'll notice that she has resung the lyrics which i think livens the song up a bit.

I have always loved cd singles especially dance ones because they always add new mixes and make the song sound better. So for anyone who loves Kristine, dance and remixes then get this one. You won't be sorry.

Although I must admit, I have never purchased any of KW's records before, this is officially the first CD I've bought of hers and it rocks!!. I like her vocal style, slightly husky and circulating- kinda like Madonna meets Annie Lennox.

The original, well no need to go into so much detail since this is the version off her album ''Fly Again'', plus you get a extended version which is the original slightly enhanced and multiplied.

And then...Finally!...The best mix is Gabriel & Dresden Mix. Remember the remix they did for Annie Lennox? with ''Pavement Cracks'' well this mix is something very similar but with a strong stomping touch to it-- and even though it's the longest mix you'll definitely never get tired of it. Excellent mix!.

If you like Maxi-Singles where all the mixes sound substantially good, then this is the CD to Buy!.
