Lamb

This is one of the greatest examples of Musical Theater. The songs in this Film couldn't haven't been done any better than besides the greats; Fred Ebb and John Kander. Its sad that it took about thirty years after the Broadway Production for it to be made into a movie. But I guess it was worth it to get such great stars as Catherine Zeta-Jones, and newly introduced to Musical Theater, Queen Latifah.

I sadly would have to say that from what I have heard of Liza Minnelli's performances of songs in Chicago, are not as great as Zellweger's were in this film. Although Liza does a great "All That Jazz", Renee shows Liza how to get the number "Roxie" done.

One thing I really like about this soundtrack is that is olden type of music, and its not remastered old songs, but it old songs performed by Modern artists, and presented in Modern, "High Definition" audio quality. Its like Michael Buble, he does the old standards, but manages to share them with the old standards to us with great, new, modern, quality. And thats exactly what this film does, It still presents the great old classics; But does it in a great modern, and perfect audio quality way.

One part I think that could have been done better by someone else is the part John C. Reiley. From what I Heard he is a singer, but from what I have seen in this movie, he isn't the greatest one. "Mr. Cellophane" is one of my favorite songs from this film, and I think John C. Reilly makes the song look like a joke. It's supposed to be a very touching song, and I don't think his vocals met those requirements. And also, I think the whole vagabond outfit for his character was completely dumb. I think the whole lonely stage setup was great, but the whole, homeless, vagabond thing, just made the song look like a joke. When it really is a very touching song.

Besides that, the film and soundtrack where great. And I loved the two extra tracks on the soundtrack by Queen Latifah, and Anastasia are great.This album completely deserved the Grammy Nomination it got, and I would recommend this album to any Musical Theater fan.

The soundtrack arrived within about a week. (I never opt for faster delivery.) It was exactly what I wanted and, as far as I can tell, plays flawlessly.

This music is so faithfully performed by the very talented ensemble that it brings back the 1920's vividly. Each song reflects a specific style of the music popular at the time. After listening to this CD I had to see the movie (which was also terrific) and then I had to buy the sheet music. Usually I simply enjoy a CD and move on. This one reached me.

The cd is very good. There are only songs, no speaking parts really, even ones that precede certain songs. There are a couple of songs that are not in the movie or that were inspired by the movie. The first time you listen to it if you haven't read the fine print it kind of throws you for a loop. I highly recommend it for all who love the movie!

I truly loved the music with the movie is excellent. I was very impressed of the singing of the movie stars.

Compared to New American gospel or Ashes of the Wake, this cd is more melodic riff wise. The power chords are very evident and very heavy. The vocalist takes more of a thrash metal approach to his vocals on this album. The song Redneck very much reminds me of Pantera. I like this album. Lamb of God altered their formula without getting soft or selling out and managed to make one heck of an album! I recommend this. I would get Ashes of the wake or New American gospel first though. -Dre

I have been experimenting with new music and bought this on a whim. keep in mind that I just invested about 5000 bucks in a car stereo for a blown 2004 Z06 Corvette and was feeling like really putting this equipment to the test. Lamb of God almost blew my ears out - the bass was so intense it was causing the CD to actually skip in the reader. 'Walk with me in Hell' was the first track. now, anyone that has listened to this type of music might think its just screaming, Lamb of God is notably different in that the singer seems able to create an effect that is borderline singing, the emotion is there, I have never been more blown away with a group since first stumbling across Ozzy many dark moons ago. I nearly destroyed the car and it would have been worth it. I have seen the light of a new religion and it is Lamb of God.

The first thing that comes to mind when I listen to Lamb of God is "they sound like Pantera". This is a complement. I love Pantera. But they are not a copycat band so you are still going to get originality combined with pulse-pounding heavy metal intensity. I also have "As The Palaces Burn" and really like that album too, but I'd say that Sacrament is a bit more refined. Love the riffage on both albums. There is a whole lot to like about Lamb of God. Consider both for your metal collection.

You'll feel like a recovering heroin addict as you sit in a dark corner rocking back and forth from the shock......the shock that music this good exists!!!! God bless Lamb of God, you guys are geniuses!

i was counting the days for this cd to come out.log is one of my fav bands.i love all their outher cds but i cant say the same for sacrament.as soon as i turned it on i knew there was somthing wrong.these songs were nothing i was hoping for.its sounds like a totally diffrent group,i couldnt belive my ears,i was seriously pissed off.im not saying its not good talented music but its not log.redneck is just the worst song ive ever heard by the band i think the lyrics to it just straight up suck,bad case of writers block i would guess.every song randy repeats himself like a hundred times sayin the same thing over n over it gets really annoying to me and on top of it he totally changes his singing style which to my ears was a bad move.i will always be a fan of older log but as of now i cant say the same for the new log.it seems these guys have just gotten to famous at this point and are just out of touch or going after the money but either way you can only piss ur true fans off so many times before they say enough is enough.before buying it i would figure out a way to hear it first because you will most likely want to save your cash after a listen and if sacrament is what dose it for you log wise thats awsome but i dont feel the same.

I've been a metal fan since Kill 'em All first came out (Metallica - 1983), and more specifically primarily thrash metal. Some of my faves for reference sake:

I realize they're all older generation (but then so am I). Then I heard LOG about a year ago (Sacrament had just come out) on satellite radio and was blown away. It had a unique modern American Metal sound with hints of Slayer and Pantera. So naturally I headed to the music store to get their latest CD. But all they had was Ashes of the Wake. Lucky for me. This CD is without question LOG's masterpiece. The album is enjoyable from start to finish...not a mediocre tune on it. And the production and how it was recorded are just top notch. I've since acquired Sacrament and As the Palaces Burn, which are good, but don't compare to Ashes. Palaces has a more unrefined and lower quality production sound and Sacrament just doesn't have that addictive quality Ashes has (maybe too much bass...sounds a little muffled). The more you listen to Ashes, the more you want to hear it again. You won't go a week without listening to it through and throught at least one time.

It's soooooooo good and violent!! Like watching a supermodel vomiting razorblades after an eating binge!! Buy it before they come to your house and kick your as s for being a wimp!

best lamb of god album. This is metal at it's best. Amazon is great but this time the CD arrived a little bit late. But I'm just happy that I got it now..

I absolutely love this cd. I actually bought this album on a whim, not knowing what to expect and I was definitely not disappointed. Every song is unique and exciting. I would DEFINITELY buy this cd again. It's worth its weight in gold!

Virginia's finest hit big with this gem. Ashes of the Wake is easily LOG's best album to date, though As the Palaces Burn is very underrated. Ashes offers all the best aspects of the groups potential with none of the negatives, which unfortunately Sacrament doesn't share. Omerta is the best trask on the album, Blythe's words are hauntingly brilliant on the slow chugging evil that this song brings to the table. Brilliant. Can't wait for their next work to release, not sure when that will be happening exactly....But rest assured it will blow Sacrament out of the water, and exceed even Ashes. Extremely solid and complete album....Get it.

I am the proud owner of at least thirty Christmas CD's. This compilation is the best collection of quality music performed superbly that I have ever heard. I had to drive 1400 miles by myself before Christmas and I never tired of listening to this wonderful music. I also ordered several more copies of "#1 Christmas Album" to gift to family and friends who enjoy quality music.

The cover of this 2 disc set features half a dozen of the great voices of our time: Pavarotti, Domingo, Joan Sutherland, Renata Tebaldi, Kiri Te Kanawa, and Leontyne Price. However, selections by these soloists comprise only 2/5 of the set, the rest being choral and orchestral works.

Nor are these fabulous voices given equal representation. Pavarotti and my personal favorite, Joan Sutherland, have four songs apiece; Price and Kanawa have three apiece; Renata Tebaldi two and only one for Placido Domingo.

However, this is basically a very good collection. The first disc is a bit on the solemn side, while the second is brighter. Pavarotti leads off the entire collection with "Adeste Fideles" and returns later on the first disc with "Mille Cherubini in Coro". His renditions of "Panis Angelicus" and "Gesu Bambino" help grace the second CD.

Joan Sutherland brightens the first disc with her "Joy To The World" and then sets the lighter mood of the second disc with "Deck The Halls" and later returns with a sprightly "Twelve Days of Christmas". She also gives us the beautiful and tender "Virgin Slumber Song". Leontyne Price gives us Schubert's "Ave Maria", "O Tannenbaum" and "O Holy Night". Kiri Te Kanawa gives us Bach/Gounod's "Ave Maria", surprises us with "White Christmas" (a very beautiful & unique interpretation), and winds up the entire set with "Mary's Boy Child". Renata Tebaldi's contributions are Brahms' "Lullaby" and "Tu Scendi Dalle Stelle". Placido Domingo's sole appearance is with the dynamic "Hosanna in Excelsis" from Lloyd Weber's Requiem.

It is a splendid feast of vocal performances. However, the choral and orchestral selections have weak spots. I was especially disappointed in the Chicago Symphony & Chorus rendition of "For Unto Us a Child Is Born", and also thought that a good rendition of the Hallelujah Chorus would've worked better. The orchestral selections did have bright spots such as "Sleigh Ride" (Mozart's, not Leroy Anderson's), Tchaikovsky's "Waltz of the Snowflakes" from the Nutcracker, and the "Skater's Waltz".

All in all, this is a collection which belongs in your Christmas Classical collection, but can't be considered an absolute essential.

I have not listened specifically to this edition, but I can tell you with near absolute certainty that this is a classic example of marketing at its most shameless. This is nothing more than a reissue of "The Greatest Christmas Show on Earth", but with a different title! (Something similar was done back in 1963, when the Harry Simeone Chorale's ever-popular 1958 LP, "Sing We Now of Christmas", was retitled and re-released as "The Little Drummer Boy"--its current CD title--, but at least the advertising there seemed slightly more honest.)

Everything on "The #1 Christmas Album" is exactly the same as on "The Greatest Christmas Show on Earth", right down to the order of the musical selections on the album. Only the cover design is different. Decca/London apparently believes that it can fool its customers into thinking that they are buying another album if they simply change the title. Of course, the album itself is reasonably good, though not on the level of most of my favorite Christmas albums, not even the now-deleted RCA Victor "Christmas Treasures", a collection culled from RCA Victor's Living Stereo series. The offense lies in the marketing gimmick,something I have never seen in all my years of avid CD buying. This is worse than all those "collections" which just rehash old material--at least each collection is a newly organized album.

If you enjoy opera or choir, this is a must collection. The Choir of King's College probably knows the secret how to make the listener flying among thousands of Christmas candles. Pavarotti's opening is so mighty that remind people, this year, to be courageous and to believe (not limited from religious sense but the humanity perspective.) And his Mill Cherubini and Panis Angelicus can vibrate one's tear from the heart, reflecting to the tragedy and the war in 2001. As for the sopranos, this collection is a Jewel. Joan Sutherland's Deck The Hall and The Twelve Days of Christmas bring out the merry atmosphere of the season and cheer one's mood to celebrate. Also her Virgin's Slumber Song has so much beauty and grace . Kanawa's Ave Maria is so dramatic performed that perfectly drawn out the human's longing for love and protection. All the orchestra also have done a splendid job. The arrangement is perfect there is no dull moment from the beginning to the end.

Back in Summer 2001, nu-metal was the rage. Yes, there was an interest in bands like Slayer, but that was largely due to them getting exposure from hipsters who were more into fashionable pop-punk than metal. While going through articles in magazines, in between ads and articles for KoRn, Limp Bizkit, and Kid Rock, I found an article on a little-known band called Lamb of God and what they were doing to make themselves distinct from what was considered metal at the time. Instead of having all sorts of piercings and multi-colored hair, these were dudes had the more traditional metal look with the long hair and genuine grit.

Well, while their more critically acclaimed New American Gospel came out to little fanfare, when this album was released, all of a sudden the trends started shifting as to what "metal" was. The kids who were rushing out to cover "Blind" stopped and started covering songs like "Ruin" (Think I'm exaggerating? I've seen exactly that happen, more than once, and I couldn't make it up if I wanted to.) This new alternative to nu-metal didn't have to be straight noise, this and reinforced the idea that NWOAHM and metalcore could be musical too. Not long after the album was released, the trends shifted, and the kids who were previously listening to bands that had roots in mainstream music (such as Korn, Tool, and Deftones) were now starting to find roots in bands that were a bit more underground, such as At The Gates, Carcass, and other acts associated with grindcore and extreme metal. Does that mean some of the kids who listen to this aren't necessarily "tr00" to metal? Maybe, but there's probably a lot of other kids who got into great metal thanks in part to this band and their efforts.

This CD rocks. While there isn't a dull moment on this album, the songs "Ruin", "11th Hour", "A Devil in God's Country" and "Vigil" are what I feel to be the standout tracks on this album. I recommend this to metal fans, fans of music who understand the need to sing in aggressive tones, and anyone who needs to take a cross-country drive but is allergic to caffeine.

Metal is one of my favorite types of music and I have amassed a lot of it. One of my favorite bands from the genre is Pantera. I see some Pantera in Lamb of God. That is a good thing. Have no fear, they are not a copycat band. After reading a lot about Lamb of God and listening to song samples, I decided on getting this album and Sacrament. Really good bada** guitar riffs and vocals. Both are excellent and worthwhile titles, and if you like Metal, you should probably add them your collection. Enough said.

1st off id like to say im not rating this a perfect 5 stars, im going with 4 1/2 stars, but that rounds up to 5 anyways.

I have ashes of the wake and sacrament. id figure i take a trip back in time and get LOGs older stuff.

I got burn the preist and new american gospel. they were ok. they were A LOT heavier than i expected. u cant understand randy in either of those albums, and the songs are short and the guitar riffs arent as memorable or catchy as in AOTW or sacrament. but they were definately brutal, to say the least.

so then i listen to as the palaces burn.

amazing cd. this is were LOG started maturing into an amazing band with great overall musicianship. the cd is very good. everything you love from the AOTW and sacrament you will find in this album.

it makes AOTW seem like 'As the palaces burn 2.0'

First off, this show is awe inspiring and the music is just as memorable. So after seeing the show I picked up the soundtrack.

The music is just not of good quality on the disc, sounds very grainy if you will. It sounds like they blared the music in the theater and recorded it all on one mic. Im really disappointed because if you listen to it at any loud volume at all it becomes really noticeable. There are also a few audible hicupps.

Considering all the money they make on this show, you would think they could afford a decent transfer, this is not CD quality music, its casette at best, maybe 8-track...

By viewing this DVD before you actually see Ka (I saw it in Vegas) and you'll have even more appreciation for the show... and DO see the show! Holy cow!!!

I bought this CD after seeing the Las Vegas production of Ka, Cirque de Soleil's story about twins who get separated and have to undergo trials to find each other again. I found the best part of the show to be the music, so I wanted a lasting copy and found one here. I would highly recommend this album for anyone who has liked Cirque de Soleil soundtracks in the past; this one has a different quality than the others, but still retains the Cirque's signature sound.

I loved the show when I first watched it, and the soundtrack was a huge part of the experience. If you've already seen the show, you already know what you're getting on this CD. If not, expect a mix of dramatic music that sounds like it could have come from numerous cultures (just as the characters from the show). If you're ever in Vegas, the show is a must see (especially for the final battle). The only reason I knocked off one star was because the CD would not play in iTunes and that I had to use other software to listen to it.

KÀ was my first ever look at the critically acclaimed troupe of Cirque Du Soleil. There could be no better way to start listening to Cirque than to start with KÀ, Cirque's finest album to date. Out of all the CDs I have ever owned, none have never brought me as much delight to listen to as KÀ, Cirque Du Soleil's finest moment in it's musical history. René Dupéré, the composer of Cirque Du Soleil's earlier productions - including Alegría, Cirque's best selling album ever, crafts the music of KÀ, which portrays many various, powerful emotions that the listener can indulge into.

I cannot say anything on this CD than what has already been said. The music of KÀ is just extremely enjoyable to listen too. While all the music on this album is outstanding, my favorites include the wonderful voice and choir arrangements of 'O Makunde', the ethnic instrumentation and (once-again) outstanding vocals in 'Forest', to the heart-throbbing emotion from the strings of 'Love Dance'. I find that all the pieces have distinct scenes they are trying to show. Unlike in other Cirque albums, the music of KÀ does not always require a voice to make a perfect piece. The solo cello in 'Deep' is a notable masterpiece that is thoroughly enjoyable, as is the outstanding orchestral arrangment of 'Shadowplay'.

The choir that is featured on the album is also outstanding, featuring powerful and essential backing in the explosive and exhilarating song 'Pagent', the tedious environments of 'Pursuit', 'Battlefield' and 'Storm', the tragic emotion of 'Aftermath' and serene candour of 'O Makunde/If I Could Reach Your Heart", 'Forest' and 'Love Dance'.

I would also like to take the time to say that the artwork for this album is just sublime. The cover is one of the most beautiful conceptual designs I have ever seen - Cirque really has outdone themselves with this product.

I have enjoyed this music from the day I received it, to right up to the time when I amm listening to it now, and will continue to adore it for years to come. I applaud all who were involved in the recording of this unique and wonderful soundtrack. This music I believe to be one of the finest ever produced, and I really do recommend it to all!!

this is the best effort Lamb of God have ever recorded. Anyone who actually opens their ears will agree. The problem you people are having is you got hooked on their latter efforts first, then popped in New American Gospel and realized the riffs they are playing 8 years later have not changed one bit. So you don't like it because it sounds the same when in fact, New American Gospel came before all their other boring albums. Not to mention the fact that at least back then, they could do those songs with some speed and not just do 500 groove only riffs like they are channeling Funkadelic. The bottom line is this band pretty much sucks the royal backside, but if you are going to even give this band a chance you might as well start and end with this album, because the rest are so worthless it's not even funny.

If you're a diehard Lamb of God fan, then get this album! It's extremely raw and aggressive and will not disappoint!

So here it is. The infamous all-American metal album that kicstarted Lamb of God into being one of the most recognized assaults in modern metal. This is a decent album, but a decent album for any other band than Lamb of God.

The crushing techincal brutallity is stripped down completely on 'New American Gospel.' You hear none of the captivating groove, or maddening fretwork that this band has come to be known for. All the riffage is your basic power chord attack, closely relating this album to the term nu-metal in some instances. Every song on this album is easy for a basic guitarist to sit and pick up. Structurally, the songs are simple accompanied by poor production. This is clearly, the mighty Lamb of God before they realized their full potential, and while not holding a mere candle to their later efforts, this album doesn't even stand sturdily on its own merits. There are many albums out there much better than this one. This release is by no means awful, but simply does not prove to be anything other than just another metal album.

A shaky release, I would suggest this album only after you bought Lamb of God's later material.

if your love of lamb of god was created when you bought Ashes Of The Wake, you may find this album somewhat disappointing. the production was not brilliant, Machine hadn't had a say in it, but the quality of the songs is far away their best work.

it'll cut slices off your ears and serve them to you in a light metal sauce, and wash it down with coarse lumps of brilliance. randy is flying at his best here, with writings of his life and the early days of Lamb Of God/Burn The Priest, Black Label telling the tale of sitting around a fume-emitting kerosene heater drinking Black Label and writing metal songs in a freezing sharehouse in Richmond, Virginia.

these guys are hardcore, i love it.

Lamb of God establishes that they are on top of the American metal scene with this album. They have an amazing thrash technicality with hardcore sound. This is a must-have for any metal collection. I would also strongly recommend LoG's follow up, As The Palces Burn.

I, for one, love Randy Blythe's vocals, and I hope that no true metalhead who reads a review describing them as "Rah, Rah, Rah, Blah, Blah screaming mess" will take it seriously. If you want clean vocals, you can listen to the new Panic! CD. I heard it's peachy.

These renditions of the Joplin rags and other pieces for solo piano are not only complete, but they seem to this Jopin fan to be faithful in spirit and (for the most part) in letter to the originals. The tempos are appropriate and the amount of elaboration (always a temptation for a skilled pianist) is kept to a minimum. Thus the spirit and genius of Joplin is intact and the music is a joy for the listener. Several works that were unfamiliar to me are now on my list of Joplin sheet music to find for my own playing pleasure.

May I offer a suggestion to those who feel that the music is trite and all the same? Do not listen to this collection or any other collection (e.g. John Arpin's or Joshua Rifkin's) of ragtime in the order the pieces are recorded on the CDs, especially if you're not very familiar with ragtime. The pieces are often given chronologically or in alphabetical order. Also, don't listen to too many pieces all at once. Pick two, three, or at most four to become acquainted with first. This way you'll be able to appreciate the individual characteristics of the pieces. Try these four pieces first:

1. Gladiolus Rag
2. Weeping Willow
3. Solace
4. Magnetic Rag

Later you'll discover other gems on your own. When you're first getting to know ragtime, it's probably best to avoid listening to pieces that have been done to death (and often done poorly or played way too fast), like "The Entertainer" or "Maple Leaf Rag."

Richard Zimmerman is one of the best interpreters of Scott Joplin. Zimmerman avoids the pitfalls many others have taken by playing Joplin's music too fast and/or too flashy. Zimmerman's tempos are moderate and his ornamentation/improvisaion is tasteful. By not trying to be a "show off", Zimmerman keeps to the original spirit of Joplin's music. Although the original recording itself may be close to 30 years old, it has transferred well to CD. I highly recommend this disc to anyone who is interested in Ragtime and American music.

Excellent collection - but there are re-sellers listed here that are selling this for as much $50 or $60. Yikes, most major retailers are selling this complete set for $18 - so beware.

Lamb Of God is an absolute juggernaut. they're absolutely set for kill whether they do a studio or a live set. for those of you into nu-metal, pick this album up and learn what TRUE metal is. here's the truth: real men listen to Lamb Of God. nu-metal is for posers. for more METAL, pick up Slayer, Testament, Carnal Forge, Kreator, Sodom, Destruction, Flotsam & Jetsam, Pantera (R.I.P.), Overkill, Sacred Reich (R.I.P.), Forbidden, (R.I.P), Corrosion Of Conformity, Sepultura (with Max), and most of all Ozzy Osbourne. I'd name more, but it would take all night.

Most live albums and songs are usually considerably worse than the actual studio produced songs and recordings. This is one of the exceptions. The songs on this CD, in my opinion, are just as good as the recorded ones. However, Lamb of God has always maintained that they want to be known as a live band so the production on their albums is always a little lack luster but I think that just adds to the raw brutality that is Lamb of God.

This CD really showcases Randy's vocal talents as well as the rest of the band's skills. However, Randy really stands out to me. Listen to the studio recording of Ruin and then listen to the live version. The opening howl is so much better live which I find hard to believe. It seems like a howl like that would be better when it has the chance to be worked on. Randy's screams will simply send chills throughout your body.

Overall, this album is probably a good place for people to start listening to Lamb of God. This is pretty much what the actual CDs sound like so it's just like a greatest hits album.

Lamb of God are truly keeping pure American metal alive. No grunge or emo or rap here, as they unleash the purism of classic 80s thrash, with terrifyingly precise death riffs and jackboot militaristic rhythms. This mostly satisfying live disc is a fitting introduction to Lamb of God's most noteworthy tracks. The key to the band's skullcrushing sound is the stupendous drumming of Chris Adler and the ultra lowdown bass of John Campbell, and they relentlessly propel some of this show's best tracks, like "Hourglass," "As the Palaces Burn," and "The Subtle Arts of Murder and Persuasion." Also of interest here is the old Burn the Priest song "Bloodletting." Unfortunately, while the sound quality on this disc is outstanding and the band surely pummeled the crowd into exhaustion, this night in Philly may not have been the best show to record. The (slightly) slower tracks "Omerta" and "Terror and Hubris in the House of Frank Pollard" sound pretty sluggish, and some attempted improv in "The Faded Line" doesn't work out too well. Meanwhile, singer Randy Blythe has remarkable vocal power and keeps on screaming long after everyone else has gone hoarse, but he needs to add a little personality to his stage banter - yelling "make some f***in NOOOOOIIIIISE" fifty times a night is a little uncreative. But despite a few weaknesses in this particular live album, if you like the real death and thrash and hardcore metal, you gotta catch Lamb of God live at any cost. this is by far the best live metal album i have ever come across. incredibly heavy, excellent sound quality. truly an inspiration

A great collection of marches for any and all occasions. These great pieces will have you up and moving around in no time. So go ahead march forward and get this one you won't be disappointed.

Forward March! Great American Marches
I bought this for my 'marching band'fan grandson along with Tune BuddiesTune Buddies - Getting to Know the Instruments
His mom says he loves them both!

The sound quality is the best I've ever heard on a march CD -- bright and crisp -- no muffled cymbals here, but also no overly-brassy brass. I'm not too keen on some of the selections (The Virginians, Barnum and Bailey's), but others (like Americans We) are truly beautiful. Create your own playlist and go out for a walk to this music -- just great! I would also recommend "Stars and Stripes Forever" by the Centennial Concert Band -- the quality is not quite as good, but it has great selections, and plays well with the "Forward March" on your iPod.

The Forward March CD is a great collection of marches. I have listened to the CD three times in the last few weeks and my students have replayed the CD over and over at the band room. A worthwhile addition to your library.

Finally a CD from Altissimo! of decent length with a solid march program. Instead of the usual patriotic dribble that we normally get on this label at last we have some real marches!Many of the selections are well known, but there are a few gems here. The performances are first-rate as to be expected by this premier band. For a change it looks like Altissimo! put together a winner from the extensive library of the bands' recorded music. Most likely none of the pieces played here are current recordings, but are taken from the bands own library which is what Altissimo! does with all of their products. In other words this is not an original recording. Still, the material is good and worthwhile. The program notes are better than usual as well. Altissimo! is slowly getting more professional in their products. Its been a gradual process indeed!
