Lupe is the man. I love his flow and the tracks are nice. I have a copy and got one for BFF and she loves it too!

Love this CD! Lupe def bring a lot of credit to the hip-hop scene. Probably one of the few out there today who are not just making commercial hip-hop - I won't name the artist today. If you want to hear something good and different then your traditional - get hoes, get money, fake gansta crap then you gotta get this CD.

This album is decent, frankly I think that it got too much hype but it is still a good album.

Seriously i can't say i didn't like Lupe, i was just sleeping on him!(just like mostly everyone is!) I didn't pay attention to him until I had someone tell me to listen to Gotta Eat, Dumb It Down,and Hip Hop Has Saved My Life...I had to think about who I was listening to...I knew this couldn't be Mr.Kick Push himself! Through it all this CD is bangin'...and when I say I never skipped a track; I mean I NEVER skipped a track...I personally love it from begining to end...he on the Nas...Talib...Common...Pac...Biggie level!

Lupe Fiasco's, The Cool, is just a fun CD to listen to. I am not a Hip-Hop expert by any means, but I like his flow and I enjoy the beats he uses. His collaborations with Michael Santos, Snoop Dogg and Sarah Green are great. When Superstar first came out, I was not a big fan of the song. The more I listened, the more I liked it and decided to give the entire cd a try after sampling all the songs on itunes. I was not disappointed. I am a big Tribe Called Quest fan and while Lupe is not in the same league as Tribe, he reminds me of them. Many of the reviewers here seem to like Lupe's first CD as much, if not better, than this one. I am excited to give a try.

Wow!!!!!!!!!!! Not since ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ever have i heard a debut album this good to include: Illmatic, Revolutionary Vol. 1, Resonalbe doubt, Doggystyle etc. Since i heard lupe on late registration i was amazed. His usage of metaphors and similes are outstaning for someone being soo young in the game. True hip hop fans will love this kid. Some ppl say that he is corny and makes songs about skateboarding and a box when these songs are merely explaing the struggle of the inner city community and how you must always prevail and how t.v. is destroying our youth. Every song is a good song and he is not to prechy . By far one of the illest new kats to the game. Once you listen to the album listen to it again to try to understand some of the content 'cause it is serious.

I love every song on this cd. This is the best cd that I have purchased and heard in a long time. It is nice to finally hear someone rap about actual things going on in the world. I plan to buy the rest of Lupe Fiasco's cd ASAP. Do yourself and favor and buy this cd.

This is definitely in my top 5 rap albums ever. The entire cd is solid all way through. Lupe's lyricism, wordplay, and storytelling make me listen to this album over and over, which is something I usually can't do with a cd. Although I gave the album 5 stars, there were a few things I didn't like, which don't affect the rating much: the intro track would've been cooler with a verse, and I didn't care for the American Terrorist song much. I can see why people would like that song, though, it's just not my kind of song. Also, the outro track is tiring; it's cool if you knew Lupe and you are listening to hear him shout your name, but otherwise, this last track is just skippable - or just don't put it on your iPod to save space. Otherwise, the other 13 tracks are perfection to me.

Lupe is the new messiah of rap. His lyrics are damn near godly. Get this album as soon as u can and help support Lupe.

Lupe Fiasco is not a complex person that needs to be studied. You either get him or you dont. He's a gifted rapper who not only goes left but he also drops some insight while he goes left. This album is mainly centered around "The Cool", a guy who gets shot and is reincarnated. Streets On Fire introduces The Streets, an evil seductress who is dangerous as she is appealing. Put You On Game is introduces another character called The Game and on the track he lets you know how he gets down. The album starts off with Baba Says Cool For Thought, an insightful poem by Iesha Jacob. Then it goes to a tribute to a locked up friend called Free Chilly. Go Go Gadget Flow is the first real track on the album as Lupe pays homage to Chicago over a beat that sounds vaguely familiar to Jay-z's Hey Papi(the beat to Streets On Fire sounds somewhat like NWA's Straight Outta Compton when the beat kicks in). Superstar is a great first single as Lupe talks about all that a superstar has to go through while Matthew Santos provides a good chorus. Matthew Santos would later show up on the fiery Fighters. You can count The Coolest, Streets On Fire and Put You On Game as highlights also. Paris,Tokyo is Lupe telling that significant other of all the places he would take her. Gold Watch and Dumb It Down are hip hop gems by themselves. Dumb It Down is Lupe flexing his lyrical skills while the hood and the corporate guy are telling him to dumb his lyrics down. Intruder Alert(feat Sarah Green) is a vivid stories of a rape victim and an immigrant over nice production. Hip Hop Saved My Life(feat Nikki Jean)is an interesting story of a local MC who is finally getting the recognition he deserves after a while of struggling. Little Weapon(feat Bishop G and Nikki Jean) is a creative track that describes misunderstood kids with guns as "Little Weapons". There are two songs I didnt feel. Hi-Definition feat Snoop Doog and Pooh Bear has a suspect beat as well as a suspect verse from Snoop(Lupe's verse were good though) and Gotta Eat is kind of boring. On a good note the album ends with the irresistably catchy Go Baby(feat Gemstones). More notable tracks: The Die(feat Gemstones) and Hello/Goodbye(feat Unkle). Bottom Line: The Cool is easily one of 2007's best releases from a talented Mc who has been showing you promise since his brilliant debut, Food And Liquor. The production was a little bit darker on this release as well theme to this album. The production for tracks like The Coolest, Streets On Fire, Hello/Goodbye sound like they could easily be scores for a movie or something. Lyrically Lupe is still sharp as he keeps your attention with his superb lyrics and his insight on the mic. The only way you can dislike this album is if you're a pop rap supporter or a top 500 or 1000 reviewer(wierdoes in the truest sense...dont get mad when you know its true). Standouts: THE COOLEST, SUPERSTAR, GOLD WATCH, HIP HOP SAVED MY LIFE, INTRUDER ALERT, STREETS ON FIRE, LITTLE WEAPON, DUMB IT DOWN, HELLO/GOODBYE and FIGHTERS.

this is another nice mesh for lupe fiasco after his great SUPERSTAR. this time he has the great jill scott singing on this track. parts of this song were featured on a nice a t and t commercial on tv with flower phones sprouting out of flowers. the rhymes are a bit weak and the two ''b side'' songs are not as great as lupe's other songs but i'm glad i have this cd single.

this started out my 2008 as my favorite newish song. these days rock is dead and most other genres are stale but hip hop sometimes still has some surprises and i like the way lupe meshes good vocals and melody by matthew santos with nice beats and ok rhymes.its a feel good song.
