This cd is awesome. The music is great and my kids
love the songs. When we are driving down the road
"I hear can you turn it up mom or can you play that
song again?" It has been hours of entertainment for
the family. We enjoy all the Now That's What I Call
Music cds. We have the whole collection accept for
Now 11 we still need that one. If you have not
listened to Now CD's you don't know what you are
missing. You should realy try it. Keep the kids
entertained.

I bought this to pick up a few old songs that I wanted for my IPOD...bought this used and saved $$, cheaper than buying from iTunes.

Backstreet Boys - Larger Than Life: This was a great song to dance too at the club when it came out. A

Britney Spears - (You Drive Me) Crazy: This is my favorite Britney song of all time. Not only is the beat great but it makes me want to sing along. A+

Marc Anthony - I Need To Know: No I don't need to know and this song is just awful I always skip it when I listen to this cd. F-

Mandy Moore - Candy: Great song and great singer. I always did like Mandy Moore's music. A

Eiffel 65 - Blue: This song was awesome; that is all I can say. I loved the song and the music video. This is one of the best songs on the cd. A+

Sonique - It Feels So Good: It depends on my mood with this song. I like the singer but this song was overplayed. C

Lenny Kravitz - I Belong To You: This wasn't one of Lenny's best songs and this song was 2 years old at the time this was released but it is catchy none-the-less. B

Savage Garden - I Knew I Loved You: I liked this song; I danced to it at my wedding reception. It is very romantic. B+

Joe - I Wanna Know: Like the previous song, this is another romantic song that brings back memories. A-

Aaliyah - Try Again: I miss Aaliyah; this was a woman who could sing and the songs were meaningful. I loved this song and I do refer to it from time to time when I am talking with friends. A+

Jennifer Lopez - Waiting For Tonight: This was a good hit for Jennifer. I have to admit the music video was better. B

Montell Jordan - Get It On Tonite: Please don't get it on tonite, this was the second song I didn't like on this cd. Even the music sounded bad. F

Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals - Steal My Kisses: An average song, have no complaints. C

Smash Mouth - Then The Morning Comes: This was another great hit off of their cd. It is catchy and plain addictive. A+

Train - Meet Virginia: I am not a big fan of Train but I did like this song. I liked it the first time I heard it. A-

Macy Gray - I Try: This is the one of two songs I liked by Macy Gray. It is a shame she went downhill after this cd but I still like this song. A

Hanson - This Time Around: I have no comment on this song. Hanson should have given up with the cd previous to this. They don't deserve an F they deserve a Z-

blink-182 - All The Small Things: This was a great song. The beat and the way it went was good enough to buy the cd. A

A step up indeed was Vol. 4 in the Now! series, for with this contribution we recieve almost an entire album of quality songs with very few 'skipable' tracks. Sadly, the first track is 'skipable'. The Backstreet Boys offered some very decent tracks on their sophmore album, but the single 'Larger than Life' was not one of them. It's regurgitating pop/shlop at it's worst and should be avoided at all costs. And to think they had so many good tracks on that one CD alone. Britney serves up a great pop song with Crazy, although the 'Stop' remix for the film was better. Marc Anthony has never been my favortie latin artist, but I have always loved 'I Need to Know' so despite my distaste for Anthony himself, I don't skip this track.

Superstar Mandy Moore, who at this day and age is better known for her acting than her singing, serves up her debut single 'Candy' here and shows us that pretty face aside this girl can sing too. Out of all the pop queen diva's, next to Christina of course, Mandy has the purist voice, deffinatly surpassing Britney and that 'shoot myself if I ever have to hear her sing another song' Jessica Simpson.

There are some questionmarks here and they come in the form of Eiffel 65 and Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals, both of which turn out tracks here that are less than impressive. I never was a far on 'Blue' and until this disc had never heard of 'Steal KIsses' but neither track makes me want to listen. I label these 'Skipable'...

I actually like 'It Feels So Good' mostly becasue it's not average and while it takes a little getitng used to it's still worth the listen. Finally a Lenny Kravitz song I like!!! 'I Belong to You' is a great song and it really showcases Kravitz talent, talent I wasn't privy to until this song. Savage Garden was big with a lot of my girlfriends at the time (both platonic and romantic) and 'I Knew I Loved You' was truly one of the best...plus I have a special place in my heart for that track (some naughty things happened while that track was pumpin').

Some strong tracks by the late Aaliyah (RIP) and a killer track by Montel (love this guy) help round out this album, making it more about the music than any particular genre. And yes J. Lo delivers with 'Waiting for Tonight' which is one of the best dance songs out there, and while some hated it I absolutly loved Trains 'Meet Virginia' for it was our first chance to meet Trian and they are truly one great band. Even Macy is forgivable here for she adds something to this album that no other artist could have...and that's an air of toleration. Notice I didn't list her with the 'sucky' songs for even though I'm not a huge fan of her or 'I Try' I've always respected her talent for what it was even if I just didn't quite get it.

Blink closes us out with yet another great song, though a bit overplayed...but it's Blink and you have to love them. Great collection of the best the year had to offer. Yes some were missed, some great and some not so, but what was shared was still memerable and well worth the storage space.

This cd was never received by the person I sent it to, Neil Lilliedoll at 24439 Fairway Dr., Davis, CA 95616. I did pay the VISA bill before I realized this. I didn't know how to complain to Amazon because I didn't have my order number. I just looked it up & it was sent so I don't know what happened to it. B. Peck

Great CD! The only thing I am disappointed in is the version of "Only Hope". It has the boy from the movie talking and interrupting Moore's beautiful singing!!!!! Are all the versions like that? I would like one without that...it's really cheezy. The rest of the tracks are great AND it comes with all her music videos!

This is a good overview of Moore's work through the early 2000s. Granted, she hadn't even been around 5 years as of the release of this album, so there wasn't yet all that much to pick from. Mandy definitely has time to keep developing, keep putting stuff out there. Anyway, this album is a very listenable compilation, not much stuff that blows you away, just enjoyable music. The album does show some of the development of Moore from the bubble-gum stuff to more mature work. The song "In My Pocket" is a very good song and an exemplar of the development beyond bubblegum. It is genuinely different and interesting, with a Middel Eastern groove to it. Another excellent tune is "Senses Working Overtime." It's an excellent melody and very catchy, as are the lyrics. Keep working Mandy.

I would recommend this disk to anyone who likes the early(and, in my opinion, better) work of Mandy Moore. Here you get early gems like "Candy", and "Walk Me Home". And From "Coverage", you get "Senses Working Overtime", "Have A Little Faith in Me", and her remarkable arrangement, of Carole Kings; "I Feel The Earth Move"; which could easily pass for yet another Santana/Michelle Branch. collaboration.
Not every song here is good, but the ones that are, are worth repeated listenings.

I think Mandy should just stick to singing, as she did here with her early work. She is NOT a songwriter; she just THINKS she is. I don't think "Wild Hope" is very good, all the songs on that album sound the same.

So if you want to hear the REAL Mandy Moore , pick up a copy of this. Accept no imitations(like "Wild Hope").

This CD has a little bit of everything for the Mandy Moore lover. If you've never listened to her, she has a sweet, yet alluring voice and utilizes her musical team to the max. You won't be disappointed in this one.

Much better than most Greatest Hits compilations - in fact, this has more substantial material than even Madonna's second Greatest Hits Compilation (GHV2).

This probably isn't going to get many positive credits because `Mandy Moore' as a name is perhaps known more for teen-pop, unfortunately. Many gems are strewn throughout this stellar CD. The early hits from the late 1990s, such as "Candy" and "Walk Me Home" which still sound fresh and invigorating, share space with her slower songs like "I Wanna be with You".

Many songs off "Coverage" are included - my personal favorite being her cover of "Senses Working Overtime" and "Can we still be friends?". The production on these songs are impeccable. Mandy's much neglected soundtrack songs, such as "Cry" and "Only Hope" (both exceptionally beautiful songs from "A Walk to Remember") are found here.

The best things here are from Mandy's self titled album from the early 2000s - this was a huge critical success and commercial failure at the time, but it contained many of her best tracks - the Kylie Minogue-inspired "In My Pocket", and the huge TRL hit "Crush".

That said, its amazing how many actual hit singles this girl has. For some reason, shes huge in Australia, and most of these songs charted there.

If you're debating whether an artist as `new' as Mandy Moore needs a greatest hits collection, well think again. She has been around for eight long years in the music business, and almost every song by her is an occasion to remember.

I would suggest buying this instead of downloading it, due to its' probable prominence on your stereo. Guaranteed, you will wear your copy out within weeks.

Of course there should have been much more. I remember there been a Metropolian Opera series called CAST ALBUMS- 100 YEARS that was put out for a limited time only and had like five volumes.
As Peter Filichia noted they left out SHE LOVES ME, BRIGADOON and SWEENEY TODD. Also nothing from PACIFIC OVERTURES, BIG RIVER, CHESS, CRAZY FOR YOU, JEKYLL & HYDE, TITANIC, THE SCARLET
PIMPERNEL, FOOTLOOSE- THE MUSICAL, THE FULL MONTY, URINTOWN...
But they couldn't have put it all. I would have done without Lee Remick's
"Anyone Can Whistle", because the show was a flop. I guess because it was Sondheim's first "serious" show...

The first three discs were only OK. I had forgotten how much better the later Broadway musical recordings were. The last two discs were very good, maybe because I could relate better to the shows or perhaps the productions were better.

Packs into 5 CD's a sampling of Broadway tunes from the 20's thru (almost) today, mostly from original cast recordings. Includes not just well-known hits, but also some lesser-known gems. Sound quality is first rate, booklet is informative too. Have given this as a gift to several friends with rave reviews.

This is THE definitive collection of Broadway hits. I have other collections, and none of them measure up. A great deal of care was obviously taken in compiling and presenting this box set. It covers a lot of ground, starting with some long-forgotten but still very enjoyable hits from the days of yore, and finishing with present-day favorites. To the best of my knowledge, the recordings are by those who made them famous. You won't be disappointed.

THESE BROADWAY MUSICALS CD'S ARE A BROADWAY LOVERS DREAM. WITH EACH SONG, MEMORIES COME FLOODING BACK. BOTH THE FAMILIAR AND THE FORGOTTEN SONGS ARE A TRUE LISTENING PLEASURE. IF YOU LIKE BROADWAY, YOU'LL LOVE THIS SET.

Well I was pretty hesitant to give this album a try since it was coming from one of the bubble gum pop princesses of the late 90's early 2000's. Now I can say this should be considered Mandy Moore's actual debut album. She shows that she is out to create good music that is influenced with folk, rock, country, soul and pop overtones. This album really gives her credibility as an artist and reaffirms that she was the one of the pop stars who actually grew up and learned to act in a mature way. The only reason I give this album four stars and not five is the backing music. While the lyrics are sang in tune, showcase her wonderful voice and act as a confessional for her life the backing music is lacking. Being a guitar player myself I can tell you that the group never really changes keys or plays anything too varying throughout the whole album. They seem to play it safe even though Mandy's voice has quite a bit of range. All in all I feel that this is great all around album and it showcases Many Moore as a great artist. Hopefully she and her band can vary it up a bit on their next album to extend her talents.

Given her history as an actress as well as a performer, Mandy Moore clearly has long term plans, and this is a very good indication of things to come. Wild Hope abandons whatever remaining status she had as a teen pop star (an evanescent path at best) in favor of finding her own voice and joining the ranks of serious songwriters. While the album lacks any real gems (although I find the title track very engaging), it is hopefully just the beginning of this talented young woman's musical career. Measured on its own terms, it is a consistent and dulcet album, effusing personal comfort that easily makes up for the shortage of hooks. I believe Mandy is on the right track and fully expect her next album will deliver what Wild Hope promises.

Mandy Moore's CD, "Wild Hope," introduces us to a new, talented, folksy singer-songwriter in the style of Anna Nalick, Jewel, and Sara Barielles.
Chances are, you have already heard of Mandy Moore. She appeared in a few movies and also released several teen pop albums back in the late 1990's/early 2000's. At the time, she was compared to Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson, and Christina Augeleria. Well, forget that Mandy Moore. Now, she has re-emerged as a promising talent with a fresh new sound. My favorite songs on the disc are "Extraordinary," "Wild Hope," and "Can't You Just Adore Her." If you are a fan of Jewel and similar songwriters, I highly recommend this album!

Mandy Moore has a beautiful voice, but her band is terrible. The music is just... boring. She needs a better band.

I was 10 when Mandy Moore first came onto the scene with her single "Candy" and album "So Real." Her sound was just like Britney Spears/Jessica Simpson, but at my age then, the bubblegum lyrics were enough to keep me satisfied. However, where Britney/Jessica remain pop clones, Mandy has gradually matured and developed at the same time as I have gotten older and not been content with bubblegum crap anymore. I moved towards artists like Michelle Branch, Vanessa Carlton, Jewel, Sarah McLachlan, etc. and I feel like Mandy's new sound on this album is on the same level as these artists. I loved this album because it has such a wide of emotions, from the moody and reflective to in-your-face and angsty. I was waiting for her to make this album all along, because it represents who she truly is as an artist.

This CD has some great music from the movie. If you are looking for an upbeat CD to listen to while traveling this one is it. It does have a few slow songs but over all it is wonderful. I love it!

If you like the movie, you will love the soundtrack! A must have for any "Center Stage" fan!

When I first saw the movie, I was skeptical about the music. I was expecting the soundtrack to have all of the classical stuff that had been used for the more mainstream performances. Instead, they included songs like First Kiss and I Wanna Be With You (which I have to say is not my favorite song). All in all, a well-rounded soundtrack. I'm really glad they left Come Baby Come on the soundtrack. 4 stars.
Disappointments: They left "Candy" off the soundtrack, and put on "I Wanna Be With You." Small mistake there.

The Soundtrack was as good as the movie with a few exceptions.

I could do without the Latino song "Come Baby Come" which not many people like to listen to unless dancing in a Salsa bar. Also one of the better songs I beleive it's called "Candy" is missing from the soundtrack. This would be the song during the warm-up at the dance studio. Why must they cut songs that should be on the soundtracks out of them?

After seeing the film 'center stage' I fell in love with the music and immediantly went out and bought the soundtrack. The cd consists and very dancable tracks that can be played over and over again. Some of the best would have to be those featured at the end of the film, Micheal Jackson's classic 'The way you make me feel', the beautiful ballad 'If I was the one' by ruff endz and the sizzleing dance anthem 'canned heat', performed by Jamiroquai. These would be my pick of the bunch. Special mention should go to Mandy Moore, whose 'I wanna be with you' is a perfect piece of pop ballad heaven and fits nicely into the film. The talented group P.Y.T contribute a couple of songs, the pick of these would have to be 'We're Dancing' which is a wonderful addition to the album with its smooth sound and catchy lyrics. 'Cosmic girl' by Jamiroquai and 'Higher ground' by the red hot chilli peppers are also worth a mention. This album is so good it practically lives in my cd player and is always being borrowed by my friends. Overall this is one heck of a great album!

The obvious intent of this CD was to transition Mandy Moore from "teen pop sensation" to a more adult sound. Since she is, you know, an adult. For my money, she more than succeeded with this release and continues to progress with her latest effort "Wild Hope". There is no harm in artists evolving. In the case of Mandy, it has done much more to help her, being that many of those with whom she arrived on the scene have seemed to take very downward paths. There seems a split here as to whether she knew anything about the songs she was recording for the CD. I'm sure she knew what she was doing, but it matters not. It sounds great. "Moonshadow" and "Breaking us In Two" were the highlights for me.

I've been a fan of Mandy Moore from the beginning, but that was way back in 2000. I was hoping that she would have evolved a little bit more being that it is 2007. This cd was not entirely a waste of money, but there were only 2 or 3 songs worth listening to more than once.

When mainstream artists choose to re-make older songs, the tracks that are re-done are often radio hits that exist in several forms already. With Mandy Moore's 2003 album, "Coverage", this practice took on a slightly different feel. While all the tracks on the record are covers (hence the title), they are relatively unknown to today's fans.

It's unusual for someone choosing to cover 70s and 80s songs to pick hits by artists like Todd Rundgren, Carly Simon, or Cat Stevens. This, however, is exactly what Moore has done. There are no Eagles or Fleetwood Mac to be found; not that those artists are bad, per se, but that their music is so often re-done that modern listeners are already familiar with it.

Not only are the songs different choices for a teen singer to cover, but the tracks are well-done. The original versions shine through, and while Mandy has put her hallmark vocals on the hits, they aren't changed around beyond recognition. For perhaps the first time since the 1960s, when re-making songs was common practice, tunes are displayed with respect to the original artist.

Normally, I stray away from covers. But this CD is simply full of good music. Listening to these tunes, I have a new appreciation for the lesser-known tracks by Elton John and Cat Stevens. And isn't that the whole idea behind listening to music?

While most people dismiss Mandy as a teeny bop pop star this CD will definately prove them wrong..This CD was sadly overlooked when released and ,yet,it is by far one of the best 'cover' albums I've heard..rather than just change the styles and add her own twists to the originals, Mandy makes the songs her own while staying true to the original and sings them from the heart and soul even though most of these songs were written and performed before Mandy was even born...She is spunky,fun,soulful,and does a beautiful job on every track...so much so that I listen to it constantly from beginning to end without skipping a single track because they're all excellant! Favorites(which are really hard to say since I like them all!) are "The Whole of the Moon","Can We Still Be Friends?","Drop The Pilot","Moonshadow","Breaking Us in Two",and "Help Me" but,like I said I love every cut! I'm actually old enough to remember when these songs first came out so if this CD can enchant an older guy like me it will be a great CD for older people who might have run from it and definately a must for those too young to have heard the originals and can now discover them...KUDOS to Ms.Moore for an awesome,up lifting,gorgeous CD that anyone can enjoy...she's a huge cut above the crop of 'new' teen girl singers like Britney and Jessica and she proves it with her "Coverage" CD...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!

She is already awesome, but this collection is by far her best. This CD shows her strong vocal ability and she covers the original songs very well. Not taking them to the extremes of where they sound fake or phony like other covers have been covered in the past by other artists. Out of all her music previously, she showed much more maturity for a CD that Sony refused to promote or have anything to do with. Mandy did her style of music, and did it well. Sony should be ashamed of themselves for not promoting such a wonderful CD to its fullest potential. Mandy Moore is very talented, and this CD shows just how talented she truly is.

a brief but excellent overview of a very talented young lady. if you love pop this is for you

I love Mandy Moore. This is a special collection. It is sad that her previous record label has released three discs within nearly three years. These discs all contain many similar Moore tracks and hits. Somebody within this company does not know how to represent her sweet and beautiful image and her music. I could have chosen better pictures. I would have chosen different songs for each album. In fact - I would have released a Greatest Hits package. Then - perhaps a remix record! Yet - her music is enjoyed. Even her older material and even though she is now embarrassed by most of it.

It seems like in the world of pop that the only artist that comes to mind is Britney Spears. But Mandy Moore is truly marching to the beat of her own drum. This 2nd album from Mandy Moore was a wonderous pleasent surprise. Not only has her voice matured but the musical content that she sings about has matured as welled. There are some truly great songs on here and the sad part is that some didnt even get to see the light of day. I am glad that a video for CRY was made because that's a great song. Another stand out song on the album is Only Took One Minute. It truly is such ashame that this song never made it to the radios or video music realm. If you havent picked up this album you should check it out. Its one of her best if not the best.

I'll start off by saying that I'm a big fan of pop and I like all of the major U.S. pop singers/groups from 1997-2001. I even own at least the debut albums of Mandy, Jessica, Christina, and Britney, and I like all of them. And I think all of them have some type of talent or charisma (or both).

I must say that from what I heard of this album, I feel it was a step in the right direction for Mandy. Sure, she had a few catchy songs on the So Real album in terms of beats and lyrics, but her vocals weren't too good, and overall, the album was a little bit on the too cutesy side. After she released the "I Wanna Be With You" song, there was a major change in her vocals, in which she showed she had a nice quality to her voice, and I think it made people notice more that she was talented. She continued with the new style of singing on this album, and it helps to make this album a breath of fresh air compared to So Real. In fact, I must say that out of the four major young pop divas here in the U.S., Mandy is the only one who I feel has actually improved her vocals, while the others have gotten slightly worse or way worse, in my opinion.

However, I feel that though this album had better vocals and a more mature style that reflected Mandy growing as a person and an artist, it still suffers from something So Real did, and that is a lack of strong songs. I think that on a whole, the Mandy Moore album is more listenable, so I would call this album an improvement over So Real, but there are only a few standouts, and the rest of the songs are lukewarm and sort of dull to me. I believe she released the best songs ("In My Pocket," "Crush," "Cry"), but several of the other songs weren't enough to hold my attention.

For fans who prefer more "pure pop" or R&B tinged pop that some of the other pop stars are doing, this album might not be for you, because it's more rock influenced (think Michelle Branch, Avril, Ashlee, etc). I just think Mandy needs to get more strong songs for the whole album overall the next time she releases an album, and I think she'll be fine. Had this album even come out a year later (in 2002), I think it could have been more successful because other pop-rock artists such as Michelle Branch and Avril Lavigne were starting the young-female-pop-with-a-rock-edge movement in music, and I think Mandy could have fit right in. Best of luck in the future Mandy.

Mandy Moore's self-titled third album is her all-time best work. She only penned one track, When I Talk To You but the rest of the songs are quite good and interesting. Standout tracks include: In my Pocket, Turn the Clock Around, 17, One Sided Love, Saturate Me, Cry, and Crush. The rest of the songs are just ok, kind of strange like the songs Yo-Yo, Split Chick, and From Loving You. On the song, Turn the Clock Around, Mandy shows tremendous growth as a singer, she sounds surprisely like Jewel on this particular track, "Maybe I never knew the rightaway, kept my love hidden underground..." She rocks, she soothes, she can intrigue a very stubborn listener into liking her unique sound. This album is not bubble gum pop, it's a very mature album from one of the better pop princess' of the late '90s.

Out of all the albums that came out from the teen pop machine, I think Mandy Moore's self title album is a widely overlooked gem that deserves to be heard by all pop music lovers. Due to the lack of promotion, this album generally bombed though it managed to sell over a million copies worldwide and enabled Mandy to produce her final album for Epic 'Coverage'. This album is an artistic feather on Mandy's cap as it displayed the purity and appeal of Mandy's voice matched with diverse musical backdrops and brilliant songwriting that encapsulated the spirit of youth.

Most notable are the songs helmed by mega-producer Emilio Estefan who gave Mandy an eastern-asian vibe to all her songs never displayed before. Songs like 'In My Pocket', 'One Sided Love', and 'Saturate Me' would make you want to dance and get lost in the intoxicating rhythms and tribal yells. While on the other hand, heartfelt ballads like 'Cry', '17' and 'From Loving You' are perfect for a lazy, drippy Sunday afternoon. Perhaps a foreshadowing of Mandy's new alt-pop oriented direction are discerned in the album's best tracks: 'Split Chick', 'Yo-yo', 'Turn the Clock Around' and the unabashedness coyness of 'Crush'. Overall, I would recommend this album to everyone--the ballads sparkle, the guitar based tunes are spunked with attitude and the Estefan tracks are perfect for the dancefloor. Give this one a try--I'm sure you'll love it.

All right ever since the age of thirteen I have broken away mainly from the pop scene, seeing it as shallow and unrealistic and with many pop artists they all sounded the same so I went out looking for new sound. I ended up hitting the adult alternative scene and never looked back. I am known for actually being fan of all the anti- Spears singers such as Alanis Morissette and Anna Nalick. Matter of fact the only reaosn I bought this album was for two songs- The Crush and In My Pocket songs that actually did catch my ear and I had a little extra money to play with so I thought why not get two fun songs?
For a long while I had put this album on shelf and only two weeks ago did I put it back in my computer just to listen to for fun from the first to last song. I found an amazing discovery- Mandy Moore is pretty good.
I will admit her songs are still layered with a lot of sugar but this light- hearted tenderness laced throughout the songs make for an enjoyable listen. Instead of acting like sex- craved tennager like Spears she actually seems like a girl who wants to mature and is proving it through songs such as Cry, Crush and When I Talk To You. These three songs show the blossoming maturity that Mandy could come well into if she follows an honest road to music. Her songs though are like fellow singer Cherie's, they are on only one subject and she should try to stretch into more mature songwriting. Her sound though is lovely and addictive after a few more listens. This is music you listen to when you're relaxed or want just a little tenderness to fill an otherwise stressful day.

I'll be interested in hearing Mandy Moore in the future, I hope she only grows more strong.

Best songs: In My Pocket, You Remind Me, Saturate Me, 17, Cry, Crush, It Only Took A Minute, and When I Talk To You. The rest of the songs fade compared to these tracks.

One would think Sony's shameless cash-in of Mandy Moore's `Best Of' would have been enough, but apparently not-they also felt the need to release `Candy,' a CD that is much more a collection of album cuts than hits (in fact, only two of these ten tracks were released as singles). Admittedly, it's quite cheap, so it's a sweet little treat to the most casual of fans who mainly enjoyed her earliest work. "Candy" is a catchy, sugarcoated, honey-slathered morsel of a teen pop song, and "I Wanna Be With You," one of Mandy's biggest hits, is a ballad I used to hate but have come to enjoy quite a bit. It's infectious and sweet-her vocals are at their best in that song. Beyond that, there isn't anything quite as enjoyable-it's true that "Everything My Heart Desires" and "Saturate Me" are some of Mandy's very best album cuts, but including a few more hits would have made this collection far more worthwhile (the excellent "In My Pocket" and her other big hit "Crush" are both absent as well). The disc functions fairly well as an album but fails miserably as a hits collection or even a collection of Mandy's best work. It is essentially a final, desperate squeeze on the cash cow and an excuse for the major-hardcore fans to buy another CD of hers (but then again, if you already have all of her albums, you won't be getting anything new beyond the cover picture). They should have at least included some of her later work (her cover of "God Only Knows" would have given this compilation instant appeal....I have yet to find that song anywhere), or at least another one of her singles. But as it is, it's a mere afterthought of Mandy's singing career, a half-assed cobbling of gooey, cotton-candy pop. Unless the only songs of hers you like are "Candy" and "I Wanna Be With You," spring on the extra eight bucks and just get the Best Of Mandy Moore, which includes all of her singles and all of her videos.

It's kind of sad that SONY Entertainment is selling music that's been sold a couple of times already in the U.S. Pretty much so that they can receive more money. They didn't even promote this collection; nor did they for the "Best Of" release last year. However, there are several awesome Moore singles/tracks on here &, once more, it's easy to see her growth from a teen bubblegum-pop queen to a more mature & classy singer.

Mandy Moore had a beautiful voice even as a teen, and I think the music on here is fun and has a good variety of styles. The only drawback is the way Moore, at times, tries too hard to have a "ghetto" sound, or whatever it is that must be done to create an artificial inflection that sounds more urban or city -- it just doesn't suit someone as classy as Moore.

In the end though, even though I never listen to pop, all of the songs on here are appealing, and I give her a thumbs-up in comparison to Simpson, who has a boring and bland voice, and Spears, who isn't talented at all.

To Be Frank as all Get Out, This is One of the most Fluffiest CDs that I Happen to Own. Mandy's voice, is Literally, like Looking Around in a Candy Store, And Finding Your Favorite Sweets.

She came onto the scene in '99, and was in dead last, When it Came to Popularity. Did she have the best voice? NO. Did she write any of her lyrics on this album?? Sadly, no. Is she the prettiest of them all? No.

Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera (my favorite), Jessica Simpson, and last but not Least, Amanda "Mandy" Moore, Rose to Fame in 1999. Many Believe that this Year, When These 4 Particular Singers, Became Stars Overnight, the Explosion of Pop Began, and the Music Industry would Be Changed Forever and Ever; in a Very, Very Bad Way. Some Believe that these Girls, Ruined what Music was and Should Be About.

Me, Personally, I was Elated, To See New Stars On the Rise!!!! I Couldn't Get Enough of Christina's hits, Genie in a Bottle, What a Girl Wants, and Most Note-able, Come On Over (All I Want is You). The videos for these songs were OK (GiaB), Great (WaGW) and Addictive (COO(AIWiY)).

But back to Mandy; this CD, is Your Standard, Mushy, Pop Affair. Not that that's a Bad Thing, Per Se...Just Don't Expect Anything to Really Blow Your Mind, or To Stick With You Forever and Ever, Minus the Lead Single, Candy, Which is and Was Very Infectious, on it's Debut day. I Don't Recall Hearing it On the Radio, But Every Time I Saw the Video, I Engulfed it, Taking in Mandy's Natural, and Simple Beauty.

Her Second, and Final release, was Walk Me Home. The Video was Very Sweet, and the song Itself, Featured Adorable Vocals From Miss Mandy Moore.

Highlights are:

-Walk Me Home- (Second Single. I Don't Think It Faired Too Well)
-Quit Breaking My Heart- (The Telephone Interlude that Proceeds This Song, is So Cute. Most Would Skip Over it, But I Played it Over and Over. Basically, it Features Mandy and a Friend, Who Received a Message on Her Answering Machine, that Mandy was Having Guy Troubles, and Wasn't Feeling So Good About Her Current Situation. She Calls to Let Her Know that if She is in Need of Anything, She's There for Support. One of the Highlights on the disc, IMHO (In My Honest Opinion)).
-Quit Breaking My Heart-
-Not Too Young-
-Love You For Always- (Reminiscent of a Selena song, Because it Features the Same Melody)
-Quit Breaking My Heart- (Reprise) (This Sweet Song is All Acoustic, and Mandy coos Her Way Through It.)

Overall, I Can't Recommend this, Unless You're a Huge, and I Mean **HUGE** Fan of Pop Music. It's Not Bad, But It's Kinda Weightless, if You Know What I Mean.

By Mandy Moore's own admission, this was a poor album. A few of the singles are catchy, so save your money and buy them instead of the entire album.

I got this cd when I was in the 7th grade (I am now a freshman in college) and I still listen to it so that alone says how great it is.

Mandy Moore's debut album at just 15 years old is a fresh start for a young singer like her to pop onto the music scene with a clean image that's not too racy or too childish. It's the perfect mix of teen pop that the pop music scene needs at its time being with the sound of Mandy's first single, "Candy", which was a big hit when it first hit the air waves of radio and TV. The follow-up single, "Walk Me Home", is a sweet and yet, romantic teen love sound that almost everyone can relate to in a song like that. "So Real", which is probably the third single, is one of the songs that just makes you want to get up and dance with its sweet pop sound. This isn't a bad project for Mandy to have started out on as a young adult at the tender age of 15 with a mature side of pop music with this debut album that makes her voice ring true to how this album should sound like at its time, and from this album on, Mandy's on a roll to becoming one of the future's most hottest female singers around, alongside Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears.
