This is the type of music you listen to when you walk into an actual progressive trance club. Very progressive with minimal lyrics, this CD is a must for every progressive trance addict. Markus Schulz all the way!

I took a chance on this CD after initially YouTubing Markus's songs from this album. It took my breath away as each track got better. Though I've been a Paul van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Armin, and Tiesto fan in years I am quickly becoming a Markus Schulz fan thanks to this album. Almost all the tracks are mixed so well and Markus does a great job implementing vocal trance into the songs. What an amazing job Markus.

This is a fantastic album. I wouldn't say there is a "bad" track on it, and Markus does a great job of balancing instrumental tracks with vocal tracks. Love it.

This is not a Trance Dance Mix. This is a well put together set of mixed songs that are very deep trance, almost bleeding edge. Though I could do without a song or two of the album, the whole thing put together "JUST WORKS". I'm becoming a very strong fan of Markus as I am Armin. Two of the best. Get this CD (or download), how can you "not" like this one?

I took a chance on this album having only heard Markus' remix of Chakra's 'I am' which I dont find any better or worse than the original. I actually purchased Armin van buuren's universal religion 2008 with this CD and listened to it first in the background, and the first song which really got my attention was 'daydream' which I immediately though I must get the original non live version of, and looking at the track listing I realised I had already purchased it on this CD. I personally think its going to be my favorite track of the year at least. If you like other tracks by Andy moor, then this should really appeal, with almost celtic female vocals, something like off Chicane's 'saltwater' and amazing base line like on Andy moors 'halcyon' it really does it for me. Its a very beautiful yet energetic track, and theres not enough of them out there. The tracks 'on a wave 'and 'lost cause' are also excellent though not mainstream trance, they are more like Dario G or Delerium, having a different atmosphere, not so much dance music, but more chillout music, I love them when driving.The only other track I like is ' cause you know' which comes in two parts and is around 13 minutes long in total, its a fairly slow and dark sort of track, similar to gothic rock or something like that in atmosphere, but an excellent ending track to finish a CD or session of listening to trance. The other tracks dont do much for me, but the good tracks are far more than I would expect from any CD, I have made a compliation with all four tracks (besides 'I am')one after the other and cant stop listening to it, this music has a special atmospere to it that really works for me. This is an artist album, not a trance compilation so is not going to suit those after a compilation, but its one of those CD's I took a chance on and will forever be greatful that I did.

A friend of mine told me about Markus Schultz. I adore Dj Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren and Paul Oakenfold's music. Markus Schultz's the next one!
Trance music experience, quiet dream. Nice escape

This is one of the best trance mixes I've ever heard. At least half of the trance mixes I own sound the same. Not this one! Markus Schulz did his homework picking his song selections. There is not a boring, bland, or a song that sounds alike on either disc. This is an amazing feat, esp. since most of the tracks are all instrumental. If you are a trance fan, this CD has to be part of your collection.

I purchased this album last summer because I was just starting to listen to Schulz's global dj broadcast sessions for the first time, and liked what i was hearing. Being a trance/progressive house fan for years, I can say that this is the most amazing trance compilation I've ever heard. I'd even go so far as to say that this album outdoes any of Tiesto's In Search of Sunrise albums. The whole album flows flawlessly with incredible low roaring bass that helps make every track a hit (just turn up the bass for songs like "People get lost", and "collision" to see what I mean). Its hard-driven, uplifting tracks such as "Mimas", "Louder", "Addictive", "Strategos", "The Fusion", "Year Zero", "Kiksu", and "Where It All Begun" which make Ibiza 06 an instant classic. Ibiza 06 is the sound of the summer. Enough said. BUY THIS ALBUM NOW!

Markus Schulz is one of the best, but least known, Trance DJs in the world. This production by Schulz does not fail to disappoint. He captures what Ibiza is and what one imagines it to be.

I was hoping that this would be a great Cd for background music at my Salon. I always end up skipping through all the songs. Everything sounds the same. I prefer Hotel Costes over Ibiza any day.

I've had this CD for almost a year now and it is still listened to regularly. Neither Miami 05 or Without You Near came close to the excellent Coldharbour Sessions, but Ibiza 06 truly is a return to form and features the complete range of his signature sounds - deep, brooding, balearic, trancey, uplifting. Fans of Markus will love this - the mixing is typically excellent and the gradual build-up of both CDs constantly interests, entertains and invigorates. Highlights include 'Louder', 'The Shelter', 'Yearzero', 'First Time (Funabashi Rmx)' and the excellent 'Where It All Begun'. My one complaint? Roland Klinkenberg's 'Whats the Point' - it's boring, repetitive, monotonous and it simply doesn't belong.

This is one of the best trance albums out there. It has a perfect mix of deep euphoric melodies and good beats. I have most of Markus Schulz's cd's and this is still his best. Miami05 is good too, also his single Daydream is his most amazing. On this cd, oceanlab - satellite is awesome, also august rush on the second cd, but it is one of the most laid back cd's to just put in and press play for the whole thing, not as boring as northern exposure/expedition cd's, just amazing beats to chill too.

Progressive Trance mix album ever. Every reviewer gave it 5 stars because it's that damn good. Pick it up while you can before this CD disappears. It's worth every penny.

A number of other reviewers have described the technical virtuosity that you will find on these discs, and I can't hope to match their knowledge. What I can tell you is that the music is deep, emotive, entrancing (in the best sense of the word), and utterly beautiful.

To put it into perspective for those of you who are fans of Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, etc - to my mind, their latest works (In Search of Sunrise 6 , State of Trance 2007) show them maturing, moving beyond cheesy anthems, and exploring more progressive territory. The man who owns that territory is Markus Schulz - he is the torchbearer of intelligent, progressive dance music.

If you need to be reminded why you fell in love with electronic dance music in the first place, go out and find this disc.

This is honestly one of the deepest trance cds i've ever heard. it's up there with The thrillseekers Disc 2. Why this isn't being produced anymore is beyond me because his Ibiza 06 album is available anywhere, which is amazing as well. Shop around, you can still find it. i got mine about 1 yr ago but did pay around 30 for it. it is a double disc and worth every single penny. Hypnotic is the only word for a Markus Schulz album.

I have been trying to get this CD for a while. I was wondering if it would ever be available again until one day I saw that there was 1 left in stock. I just recieved it not too long ago and I was very pleased with it. I heard a few of the songs before buying this CD, so I knew at least some songs would be good, however after listening to it I was glad to find that practically all of the songs were purely amazing.

I have been listening to trance for a few years now and this is definatly one of my top favorite CD's. It may be a couple of years old now, but it is still as amazing as any new songs out there.

If you are a DJ looking for songs then this is a good CD to buy. If you don't count the intro and outro tracks the shortest song is 4:47. The rest of the songs are over 5 minutes, 2 of which are over 10 minutes long.

If you see this CD become available, buy it as soon as possible because you never know if it will come in stock again.

This is my third Markus Schulz mix that I purchased, Ibiza 06 and Coldharbour Sessions 2004 being the others. Man, if you like progressive trance, you can't go wrong with this album. Great mixing and great tracks makes this album an enjoyable listening experience. I'm looking forward to more of Markus Schulz mixes in the future.

This is an amazing progressive trance album. Both the mixing quality and the songs themselves are truly something I would highly recommend. I would go so far as saying that there are no "bad" tracks on this album, unlike many other "trance" compilations out there.
From the mellow "I Found U" and "Close Enough" to the upbeat "Soul Dimention" and "Eighties", this album is pretty much a work of art.

Trance lovers well this is something you should love to add into your stereo. Cheers

Better than your average compilation by far, but does not top Cosmic Gate back to back vol 2. It took me a couple of listens, but still gets heavy rotation by me.

the production on this cd is good. The "without you near-reprise" is an amazing track worth the price alone, proof of his abilities as a producer, but I must honestly say that his live sets would sum up what a really good dj he is,I noticed the increase in the pitch on both of the cd 2's of the miami 05' and ibiza mixes,they somewhat capture in my opinion the live hard flowing melodic vocal clean mixing sound we normally get from him. Markus got mad skills all over.

You all are ridiculous, complaining about too many vocals. Take a minute and actually just listen to the music and the SOUND of the vocals. Yes, welcome to the world of electronica, the vocals are RARELY thought provoking. But are they ethereal and haunting? Yes. And for those of you who obviously hate vocals but love "dark gritty trance" you obviously have not listened to Ballymena which is easily one of his best songs ever, play it as loud as your system goes and give this album another shot. If that song doesn't move something deep within you, then you do not like trance music. Try Deep Dish or some deeper house music.

Markus Schulz, as a songwriter is impressive. This album reveals the true talent of Markus! Of course he`s an excellent dj and producer, no doubt, but this album reveals his greater understanding for music. It`s magic! After 15 years enjoying house and trance, this is great! Friends who are not into this kind of music at all are dancing at tables....it says it all!

I don't know what all the fuss is about with this album on Amazon. CHILL! I finally got it today and I think it's one of the best trance artist albums around.

Markus Schluz rocks my world and "Without You Near" proves he is more than just another disc jockey who can spin other peoples' tunes. He is an artist ... and a musician ... and he's a pretty darn cute dude too. I can't wait to see him spin in MIAMI again. Mmmmm.

"First Time" is my favorite track.

Markus Schulz's newest release "Without You Near" leaves me with mixed feelings. I can understand the wide range of reviews here on Amazon. I'm sort of neutral to the whole album.

I enjoyed the slower beats on the cd, but that's not what I was expecting to get. Actually some of the actual music on the album is quite majestic, moving and sweeping. It's that sort of epic dreamy dance that sounds so beautiful.

If the whole album were like that with minimal vocalists, I'd love it. However, the other reviewers are correct: there does seem to be too many vocals. Markus' music is strong enough to where he doesn't need that many vocals.

He's a tremendous producer and the music on here shows it. The vocals were ok for me (I can't say I disliked them, but I definitely did not love them). So overall a three-star release. Maybe worth a Used purchase but definitely not the full retail.

These recordings were made in the early 1980s and have good--but not the latest--sound. The performances are first-class. The Berg Quartet typically plays Mozart romantically, with a broad dynamic range and phrasing that some might find more suitable for Beethoven. This is not small-scale drawing room Mozart. I enjoy these performances and prefer them to the Grumiaux group.

I don't have the recording from >the Grumiaux ensemble< nor >the Talich Quartet< to compare against. So the previous reviewer could be onto something. But these recordings by The Alban Berg Quartet are very enjoyable. I own the edition licensed to the Musical Heritage Society and I like it very much.

These quintets are among the most sublime creations that I know of. Nothing of that beauty is captured, however, in these recordings. The sound and performances are cold, harsh, mechanical, and rushed - exactly the opposite of what these pieces require.

I would reccommend the exquisite recordings by the Grumiaux ensemble and that of the Talich Quartet.

But, it would almost be worth the price of this album to also buy this one so that you could truly appreciate what Grumiaux and Talich have to offer.

What 1998 was all about for the MAFDDAP crew: trippy grooves, acid lines to melt your brain and stompin' beats to move your feet. Markus Schulz seamlessly mixes house & breaks throughout the mix in a wonderful tribute to MAFDDAP's early tunes. At least a top 5 in my all-time favorite electronic CD list.
