Maroon 5

I bought this CD as a Christmas gift to my teenaged daughter. She's into Miley Cyrus and maturing with Miley's newer material, but she also loves all the obvious great artists, e.g., the Beatles, the Stones, from the 60's onward. Both of my daughters are sophisticated listeners and encouraged me to buy them the Beatles' Rubber Soul and Revolver for Christmas. I was disappointed by the profanity in Maroon 5's remixes, e.g. Makes Me Wonder. What's up with the profanity? What's the point? It distracts from what would otherwise be pretty cool tracks. I made the oversight of buying this CD at the same time as the aforementioned Beatles' discs. It may be unfair to compare such notable classic groups to the Maroon 5, but hey, I gave Maroon 5 a shot and they disappointed our whole family. You don't have to stoop to such levels to get your point across or to appear cool. Even my eight-year-old had enough class to tell me how inappropriate and unhip she thought the lyrics were. I guess I don't have to tell you who the real winners were as CD gifts to my daughters.

I was so excited when I saw Maroon 5 in your new music email for pre-order. That probably made my eyes blind to the word "remix". If I cared at all for techno pop dance music it might be different. But to hear all my favorites with a new beat and rythem was at best upsetting.

I absolutely love Maroon 5. I am very disappointed with this new CD. I tend to not be very happy with a re-mix. It is very creative, yet hard for me to enjoy it. There is a heavy techno-disco sound to these "now" beloved classics by Maroon 5. I have to say that Adam and the crew need to stick with what they do best....make the wonderful music and lyrics they have produced in the past!

Love this album. Maroon 5 just keeps getting better! Cant wait to see what they can do next.

I love the different interpretations of these tracks. Its great to see a band like this get the attention they deserve. I loved all of the tracks, although I heard a better version of "If I Never See Your Face Again" from an unknown artist that makes Swizz Beats version sound flat. The first time I listened to this cd, I wasn't impressed, but the more I listened, it grew on me. While the sound is different from the first, its awesome and the band totally has another winner!

You can't beat this CD!! This CD has slow and fast songs. There is two or three bad words but it is worth the price!!

I don't follow this band, but I was listening to the newest cd and alot of the tracks sound like a newer version of a cd put out by Jackson 5. Like a 2000 version of the Victory cd. Especially the tracks - Make Me Wonder and Kiwi. Most all of those songs have the a bit of that sound. Well, maybe they did pull from the past. Jackson 5 -- Now Maroon 5. Sounds good though.

This CD sounds nothing like songs about jane, probably because the band switched their drummer due to permant injuries. I do think this is a great album though. Both of their albums are great and very different. I think Adams voice is just as good as ever. This Cd has more of a funky sound then their last one. If you want to hear songs about jane 2 don't expect it from this cd. If you like funk, alternative, rock, pop and soul then this is a good cd for you.

I really enjoyed Maroon 5's debut and the diversity of the songs and, of course, Adam's voice is to die for. When "Makes Me Wonder" came out, it was a very fun song and sound for them. When I bought the release, though, I was disappointed that the diversity was thrown out the window for songs that all sounded the same to me. Not to mention this CD is so overly produced it makes me want to barf. Just not my cup of tea. I find the songs to be weak, bland, over-produced, and unoriginal. I didn't mind "Wake Up Call", but it got old to me fast. "Won't Go Home Without You" is alright, but again - very bland pop. "Goodnight Goodnight" is alright, but the lyrics are so cheesy. The only other song I don't mind listening to repeatedly, aside from "Makes Me Wonder" is "If I Never See Your Face Again", but not the original version, I like the new Rihanna version.

Now I'll admit I don't care much for pop music, but this band really had something special with its debut, and now it's been thrown away for bland commercialism and cheesy lyrics. Hugely disappointing CD. And, no, I wasn't wanting "Something About Jane Part 2" either. I just hope they bounce back with a better release next time. The first few listens of the CD I kept thinking these were the lost tracks that were left off of Michael Jackson's "Off the Wall" release. hehe... Blah!!

A really good group but you have to ask yourself..."is it still worth buying CDs in this day and age?"

This cd is great for everybody. My mom adores Maroon5 because they are talented and they have a fresh sound. Their songs are very touching. My favorite track is "she will be loved". Trust me, you cant go wrong with this cd!

Maroon 5 Rocks!!! I had this CD previously but lost it. The price was right, the cd was brand new and it's just awesome.

This album is truly a great album. Released in 2005 internationally it is still rocking in 2008. All the songs are good most are great I recommend it highly I have already ordered their 2007 album can't wait to hear that I read the reviews some people say it's too commercial not as good as this one but look how much time they had to perfect this one. They did a superb job.

As Maroon 5 is an excellent group I expected nothing but to be impressed. I was. The only reason I didn't give it more stars is the use of the "F" bomb in a song. Other than that I really do enjoy it.

of buying hundreds of dollars worth of Music , Books and Etc , making Amazon what it is , I would expect this to be a Xmass Present to All of Us Regular Customers ... It would have been a Nice Touch , too bad we only think of Profits ... When was the last time a Company gave you a Freebee for making it what it is ? ... I can't Remember ... But , hard times are a comming , we will see If we Can Survive The Crunch ... Good Luck ...

The release is a neat cross-section of a decade of pop culture, with an obvious focus on those who were - or continue to be - the chart toppers.

The one artist with the most remarkable staying power is Bruce Springsteen, who continues to churn out timeless music. Dave Matthews Band, Norah Jones, Coldplay and Backstreet Boys cover a lot of musical turf in the ever-changing entertainment universe.

This is a good collection at a great price that benefits an outstanding cause.

Simply put, for the price it cannot be beat... Just get this and you'll be glad...

I would have easily paid twice as much...

On a side note: I wish more bands would release Deluxe editions like this with the music videos and a decent live concert...

sit back and give your self an hour on the couch to enjoy the concert DVD... you won't be disappointed.

First, I must say I'm impressed by the shipping speed of amazon.com, I ordered this album yesterday in Hayward, CA, and I got it today at noon, while amazon.cn has never been this fast.

Actually, I've already bought the HK deluxe edition illegally when I was in China mainland, for I'm f**king tired of the censorship of my government, they did bring in the album to China mainland, but removed three songs from the standard list, including "Makes Me Wonder", "Wake Up Call" and "Kiwi". So if I wanted to listen to all the songs, I had to buy the HK release.

When I knew they were gonna release another deluxe edition of this album, I was pretty pissed off, not because the Rihanna remix version of "If I Never See Your Face Again" was added, but because they were adding a full concert into the bonus DVD, while in the DVD of HK Deluxe Edition, there are only 3 live performances, which means I have to buy this one.

Now that I'm now studying in the US, I could finally buy it here at a reasonable price. And it didn't let me down.

The concert is from their small tour, but the quality is not bad as the picture is formatted in 16:9 widescreen, and the sound is DD 5.1. Though compared with female artists' show, this one is a little too short, but it is still good to just listen to to some live music without artists' blah, blah, blah.

One thing I don't like about this concert is its setlist, this small tour is in support of THIS album, but there's only 4 new songs out of 12, and they didn't even perform "Wake Up Call". I heard they're still touring, and this one is said to be a big one, if they would release a DVD of the big tour, the setlist might change.

Nevertheless in all, if you haven't got the standard version of the album, this Deluxe Edition worth buying especially with a CD and a DVD at this price.

This is one of the best CD's I have ever purchase. Song after song of great music and it keeps you listening until the end. Loved it!

This is a great pop album, not just a couple of good tracks. Agree with the reviewer here that this is what pop music should aspire to be. Also-- this group is what major labels should aspire to develop.

Live DVD is great. Shows that the group can pull it off on stage as well as in the studio. It's shot well and has a "raw" feeling that makes you feel like you're there.

A bargain at $12.

I listen to a lot of different kinds of music, and what most would consider to be "Pop" isn't exactly on the top of my list. This album is an exception. With funky grooves, soulful synths, and catchy lyrics, there aren't a lot of bad spots in this album. I'm a sucker for bonus material, so i snagged the deluxe edition at Wal-Mart, and wasn't disappointed with the concert footage included. Good stuff.

I originally bought an imported version of Songs About Jane. The songs were alright. But I got bored and sold it soon. Then, I bought this CD/DVD set. I think they sound so much better when they're performing outiside the studio. So I'm glad I dumped their first studio album for this.

I Am watching dvd Version of this Right Now, and Maroon 5 Are a Killer LIVE Band as well, as excellent Recording artist!! You will get 2 Discs with this package, 1 for Dvd Concert, and cd for Concert Songs. They Are both Awesome, is the only way to describe both!! And Just so you dont think im some teen age follower, im 32. They Appeal to anyone Regardless of Age in my Opinion! Of course most of these are the same songs from songs about jane album, but there all totally live, and the fact that you also get the Dvd is a no brainer! So if your fans and Dont have time to get to a concert, or just want the live version , Dont wait it is definetly worth the price!! Peace all.

The dvd is good. I love their music and they perform with plenty of energy and emotion. It's good to see them stretch out musically on some of their songs. My complaint is with the CD. The music is poorly mixed. It seems to be a straight transfer of the dvd soundtrack, which any one with xillisoft or similar software could have done for themselves, although possibly not, given what previous reviewers have alerted us to about the copy protection software. Anyway, my point is that the cd hasn't been remixed for dedicated audio listening. As a result the crowd noise is way too loud all the way through every song. It is like listening to the cd in a room full of crickets and mosquitos, on a windy night next to a freeway by the ocean. The poor quality of the mix extends to the balancing of the instrument levels. In some songs the lead guitar sits out clear and strong and in others it is swamped by the rest of the band, robbing songs of their climactic moments.
A disappointing effort from a greaty band.

This is one awesome band, incredible musicians, the down and dirty lyrics remind me of some of the great R&B stuff back in the day. And Adam Levine's voice, you ain't gonna get him confused with anyone else.

The CD has been in my car's player since I took it out of the package. Like someone else said, I can play it over and over and not get tired of the music.

This spoilt it for me. I work away allot and couln't wait to download this on my ipod, which does actually copy, but the playback is messed up.
I bought this album and every other album I have on my Ipod and I should have the choice as to where I want to listen to it.
Secondly I hate the fact that it automtically installs software on my PC.
Don't buy it if you want to listen to it on you IPod.

Any Maroon 5 fan will LOVE this cd. It includes a couple of their more popular songs and then a few covers as well. Adam Levine sounds fabulous on this cd and the last song on the disc is a total surprise ;)

Well---to think Maroon 5 has been around since ---1993? and I am now really enjoying their music. Sometimes it takes a while for a great group to grab you, but when it happens...well the tunes are great, whether acoustic or not. This group only gets better and to think I almost missed this live acoustical rendition of my favorite songs...So grab a copy and enjoy. The songs have little differences, but enjoyable...Well worth the price...Love it, love them...and in person,live...Great!!!

Amazing album. Only has a few tracks however worth it. Nothing shows true talent until you unplug and Maroon 5 nailed it.

I love listening acoustic sets. The music seems more real to me and more personal and this CD did not disappoint me. The three singles from "Songs About Jane" are on this CD; "This Love", "She Will be Loved", and "Harder to Breathe". Each one is just as good as the studio versions. Stripped down to the bare minimum of instruments, the vocals stand out and the words can make their full impact. Maroon 5 also performed a Beatles cover, "If I Fell" which was also amazing.....

A sad journey through the heart and minds of Adam Levine and the band.

I listened to the samples here once I heard Makes Me Wonder a few times on the radio and on tv. I wasn't impressed in the slightest. I was shocked at how they "changed" and thought they needed to get "back on track".

Thank goodness something last month told me to give them a shot because I liked Wake Up Call once it became a single. I'm SO glad I bought the CD this time around! It's almost as good as Songs About Jane, if not on par.

Sure, the soulful Rock tunes are long gone, but the pop-laced rock tracks here are very thoughtful and interesting like the last bunch were.

I adore Little Of Your Time which is too short, and Nothing Lasts Forever, Wake Up Call, Better That We Break, Makes Me Wonder, Can't Stop and Goodnight, Goodnight as well as Not Falling Apart. (:

Kiwi one of the tracks I didn't like much at all at first. I guess it grows on you if you let it. I mean the more it plays the more it becomes tolerable and listen-able. Decent riffs at the end... 3.75/5

This is better than Green Day's Dookie, Incubus' first 3 CDs (the putrid Fungus Amongus, overrated to the High Heavens, S.C.I.E.N.C.E. and the sporadically magical Make Yourself). It's also a tad better than Make Yourself by the same band.

This is the Maroon 5 that I miss. True that it's still TOO, too early to hear their signature sound, seeing as they've just released a second disc in May 2007, but I still can't help but wonder what pressure caused them to "suit up" (literally) and take themselves WAY too seriously?!?!?!

It confuses, angers and saddens me, all in one try!

I miss songs such as Harder To Breathe, She Will Be Loved, Tangled, The Sun, Through With You, Rag Doll and my favorite, the sexy and sultry, Secret.

I have this import version and it's worth it just for Rag Doll. Just don't pay more than what you have to for this. I'm guessing without looking at the price here, you can get away with this import album for less than 20 bucks. I got mine at Wal-Mart 2 1/2 - 3 miles from here. It was 14.99 and I'm happy!

I love this cd and i bought the piano music for it. The book isn't very good though because it doesn't have the song on it that i bought it for. I wanted to learn "Rag Doll" but it doesn't have it on it and that was the whole purpose for buying it. I tried learning it by ear but it is soooo hard. I bought the cd for "this love" and "she will be loved" but i'm so sick of them now. The best ones are secret (skip the first like minute it's practically nothing), through with you, not coming home and ofcourse rag doll. Maroon 5 is the best.

I can listen to this cd all the way through wihtout pressing skip, yay. Their style is very unique. Overall I love the cd...especialy the songs This Love, Harder to Breathe, She Will be Loved, Sunday Morning, Through With You, and Sweetest Goodbye. The bonus Track RagDoll is really good, I wonder why it wasn't on their non import cd. The remixes are ok, but a nice edition to the cd considering the import version cost the same as the regular cd.
