The soundtrack arrived within about a week. (I never opt for faster delivery.) It was exactly what I wanted and, as far as I can tell, plays flawlessly.

This music is so faithfully performed by the very talented ensemble that it brings back the 1920's vividly. Each song reflects a specific style of the music popular at the time. After listening to this CD I had to see the movie (which was also terrific) and then I had to buy the sheet music. Usually I simply enjoy a CD and move on. This one reached me.

The cd is very good. There are only songs, no speaking parts really, even ones that precede certain songs. There are a couple of songs that are not in the movie or that were inspired by the movie. The first time you listen to it if you haven't read the fine print it kind of throws you for a loop. I highly recommend it for all who love the movie!

I truly loved the music with the movie is excellent. I was very impressed of the singing of the movie stars.

Rob Marshall and company got it exactly right in transferring Chicago to the screen. Though I was not a Renee Zellweiger fan, she changed my opinion with her total tartiness here (and she was terrific in Cold Mountain), she dances competently, and sings the role wonderfully. Katherine Zeta Jones was perfect as Velma Kelly. The rest of the cast are marvelous too....Queen Latifah coudn't have been better cast. Though I have never been conviced of Richard Gere's acting ability, he pulls off the role of Billy Flynn admirably, even his singing and dancing work effectively. They brilliantly wrote a screenplay to encompass most of the stage show, where songs were cut, they needed to be. A well deserved Oscar winner for effectively bringing a musical back to the screen!!

This review is on the recent release from founder and frontman of the progressive band,The Hoax.As ex-drummer lyricist and vocalist of this band it prompts me to give my opinion of what think of it.First of all, feel that ever since The Stream,The Hoax has been like an elastic band,being pulled by the talented chemistry in the band.Even if The Stream was not considered as one of my favorites,at least it had moments of true spirit of art.The musical strings in the band have been pulled too far apart for reconciliation,thus I find myself performing in a band as a drummer and a SOLO artist.

The Hoax 2008,as it is prelimanarily called ,has reached the point where Ranbone always wanted,melodic,still and sappy.Over-orchertrated and too repetitive.The Mannheim Steamroller on snooze.Funny how The Hoax started out as a rock band with character that set itself apart from other local bands.We were a band who made fun of other groups (parodies) Dramatic,technical ,melodramatic, but never corny.We created great symphonies of new prog-rock.But when the "caractature got pushed ,the creative differences were too strong and the once mighty Hoax has become an entertainer for dentist offices and surgery rooms.

Perhaps as RickWakeman once said that the egg once starts at the same point and then divides into two extremes,so maybe daniel and Randy will be able to create magic as in their Golden Years.For now,The Hoax is in yet another experimental stage.For me,I prefer not to be on that badd acidd tripp!!!

I purchased this cd for two reasons. First, cause I'm patriotic and second because I'm a fan of "Mannheim Steamroller". This cd is great!!! This cd is certainly going to be played on July 4th. from now on and of course when I'm feelin my American Spirit. Buy this one, it's good. Enjoy:)

I liked the CD overall. The choral numbers build very nicely and Home on the Range is a unique item done in this style.

I love Mannheim Steamroller's Christmas music, so I've been collecting their music for other holidays as well. I wish they'd avoided the occasional speaking parts in this but I love most of the musical parts. They did a good job on the Aaron Copland piece! I'll be listening to it other than on July 4th.

GREAT ALBUM! Not quite as BIG as Trans Siberian but still a keeper!

The movie was hilarious, so for some reason I can't quite recall, I bought the soundtrack!

Funny, funny stuff on there, including the "Kangaroo Song"!

Adam Sandler = funny!

Although this was a standard Adam Sandler spoof on what we all wish we could do ( slack off). The Movie was very entertaining and worthwhile. You should watch Cole and Dillon Sprouse in their very own right on the Disney Channel( they played Julian). This soundtrack displays some very good material. Although some of the weak points were with Limp bizkit's contribution and the addition of Dialogue from the movie as well. I think all in all this soundtrack covers a lot of ground and does a well rounded job in adding rock with some standard classics such as Styx's "Babe". Other Good tracks that i enjoyed would have to be:

- melanie C.: "GaGa" ( don't judge her solely because of her involvement with the spice girls! people do evolve you know.)
-And absolutely Sheryl Crow's version of "Sweet Child O' Mine"
which I think was beauttifully done and whose version was a little more appropriate for the plot line than the original.

I hope you like this soundtrack as much as I did. I listen to this soundtrack in the car while I am driving home from work in traffic. For what it's worth, the music is very cheery and I think if you are into alternative you will like it as much as I did. The songs I liked the most on the soundtrack were: "Rush", "Sweet Child O'Mine", "Only Love Can Break Your Heart", "When I Grow Up", "What is Life". Those are the ones that I usually repeat in my car because they are really upbeat and don't put you to sleep. I recommend you listen to those. Of course it also has a couple of classic older songs in there which are also good to rip to your Mp3 player and listen to when you are trying to just sit down and relax.

Now, keep in mind that if you saw the movie and loved it(I know I loved that movie), they have a couple of clips of some of the funny things said by the cast in the movie. You may want to check these out if you have time of course. Good luck and enjoy the soundtrack.

I've seen this movie literally at least 45 times. I know the whole movie by heart, and i really actually liked this soundtrack. I reccomend this movie and soundtrack.

From the pop-y "Northern Star" to the rock-y "Beautiful Intentions", her album "This Time" is probably her best alternative rock sounding album with more of an acoustic sound, where you can really hear her voice.

HIGHLY recommend Melanie C's b-sides:
- "Fragile" from 'The Moment You Believe' single
- "We Love to Entertain You" from "This Time" single

I have always been a big fan of Mel C's and have all but one of her albums...being overseas had it's advantages. With This Time, she comes full circle and proves not only to the world that. She maybe a Spice Girl but she more than knows how to roll solo and do her own thing just as well. I've always enjoyed her vocals on previous efforts. She has a strong and booming voice when needed and on slower ballads it slowly builds to an excellent result-heartfelt and strong delivery.

She does this throughout her new cd. I only found a couple songs that i didnt really enjoy despite listening more than once those are:

What If I Stay (just didnt do anything for me...it did almost put me to sleep though)

Don't Let Me Go (again i couldnt stay interested in it to be honest after a few listens)

But that's it everything else (everything) on the CD is crazy good and should be enjoyed by any and all music fans. Not just fans of her previous work or the Spice Girls, but music fans in general.

You don't want to miss out a cd that keeps you interested in what comes next after every song.

"This Time" is it for real.

During the 90's when I was a Spice Girls fan, I never paid much attention to Melanie Chisholm...she kinda just faded into the background behind Emma and Geri...but after discovering her solo CD's this year I was pleasantly surprised...she truly was the most talented former spice girl...
This particular CD is excellent and I would strongly recommend it. "This Time", "Immune", and "Carolyna" are some of Melanie C's best songs...Also, even despite the song's cheesiness,I enjoyed Melanie C's cover version of "I Want Candy"
The only reason why I didn't give it five stars because a couple of the songs, like "Out of Time", seem to take a while to get going...but once they do, they're great.
All in all, excellent!

I dont understand the britsh public for constanlt slating one of our greatest artists. Melanie C has shown that yet again she has the song writing ability and talent to be a no1 solo star, Popular every where except her home territory. I own all of her albums and on listening to them in sequence you can hear Melanie maturing and getting better and better. This album is her best and must be bought by every fan to show commitment to her ability. You will not be dissapointed.

Wow. This song has alot of feeling. Very rock sounding, and very catchy.

2. What If I Stay - 7/10
Not bad, but not wonderful. Soft rock. You might listen to it once, but it doesn't stick for a long time.

3. Protected - 6/10
After the first verse, and the first time she sings the chorus, it's very boring, and weird. Worth a listen or two, though.

4. This Time - 10/10
At this point in listening to the whole album, you are thinking 'Here we go!'. It's a very catchy song and her voice sounds angelic, like it should. I wonderful demonstration of what she is capable of.

5. Carolyna - 10/10 (BEST TRACK!)
The guitar sounds great, the tune is great, and her voice is even better. The perfect song for all pop-rock lovers. WONDERFUL!

6. Forever Again - 8/10
I don't like the backround music, or the beginning at all, but it really does have a great tune, and nicely written lyrics, so overall, its good.

7. Your Mistake - 9/10
At first it was boring, but it grew on me, and now I really like it!! Very catchy.

8. The Moment You Believe - 7/10
The first single from this album. Not her best work, but worth noticing.

9. Don't Let Me Go - 6/10
I think it's rather boring, but the chorus is somewhat catchy.

10. Immune - 10/10
Another great song after a few average ones. Very catchy, and meaningful.

11. May Your Heart - 5/10
Not good. Not much else to say about this track.

12. Out Of Time - 9/10
This track is strange. At the beginning it is soft, and a little catchy, but towards the end of this song, she starts rocking to the same tune, and same lyrics, and it gets much better. Although the slow part isn't as good as the rock part, without it, this song would be a 6/10.

13. I Want Candy - 10/10
I just love the brass intruments in this song. They are really neat, but her voice doesn't shine at all. Still 10/10, though.

The movie was sensational, it seems almost impossible to capture all of it in a soundtrack, but they did a wonderful job of it. Every sngle song captured the spirit of the movie, it was almost like going to a broadway musical because of the quality of this music. Catherine Zeta- Jones did a amaizing job of singing the songs "All That Jazz", "Cell Block Tango", "I cant Do it Alone",and so many more. This music is almost magical, I would recammend this soundtrack for anyone!

If you loved the movie Chicago I'll garenty that you'll fall in love with the soundtrack. You can never get to bored of "all that jazz" with Catherine Zelta Jones singing it, you can tell that she's the real star of the soundtrack. Don't be surprised if you run across "The cell block tango remix" and all that junk, it just didn't blend in with all the other songs, I always avoid it.

the movie had great songs and great music and this soundtrack captures all of it.

I'm surprised by the enormous volume of glowing, 5-star reviews here. This soundtrack isn't THAT great. Maybe I'm biased. I was fortunate enough to see "Chicago" on Broadway in early 1997 (the matinee right before the cast walked over to Radio City for the Tonys, of which it won 3 or 4). That was a few months after it opened, with the original revival cast: Bebe Neuwirth as Velma, Ann Reinking as Roxie, James Naughton as Billy, Joel Grey as Amos, Marcia Lewis as Mama Morton, and D. Sabella as Mary Sunshine. Right afterwards I bought the CD and have listened to it many times since. So I can't help but be stuck on it. (I even have the 1975 Broadway recording, which I like though not as much as 1997.)

This soundtrack simply does not feature the vocal chops to be found on the Broadway recordings. The music itself is comparable, but certainly not an improvement. And the rap version of "Cell Block Tango" is a too-obvious attempt to take modern pop "stylings" (if you can call it that) into consideration when they are NOT at all relevant here. (Okay, more bias, since I despise rap.) Plus that last track with Anastacia, or whatever her name is, is awful. She tries so hard to sound like a modern R&B singer, but she can't do it. (And, again, I hate modern R&B, so yet another pre-disposed strike for me).

I liked the movie, but it (and the soundtrack) don't hold a candle to the Broadway "original revival" cast. I highly suggest getting that recording instead. You'll hear Bebe Neuwirth wail even better than Chita Rivera did, and James Naughton blows away Jerry Orbach (and certainly Richard Gere, by FAR).

And the DVD version isn't worth it. It really only has a 10-minute featurette that I'm willing to bet is on the DVD that's about to come out. And I can see that some people here have taken Richard Gere too seriously when he mentioned that Renee Z has a Billie Holiday quality to her voice. I laughed when I heard it then, and I laughed again when I see people repeat it here (as if it's their own words--yet they spell her name Billy). Not that Renee is bad (nor is Catherine ZJ), but by no means is she anywhere near the ballpark Billie Holiday is still in 45 years after her death. (And before anyone else takes Richard Gere too seriously: no, Catherine Zeta-Jones isn't really like Dusty Springfield, either).

Wonderful sound track! Anyone, who enjoyed the movie, will certainly relive the experience listening to the CD. I cannot wait for the DVD to be released in August.

I Think its her best album and i love MELT song is one of the best but HERE IT COMES AGAIN is the best cuz it was in the top ten in latin america, that is her only single known in there, besides yeh yeh yeh is just amazing song to bad it wasnt released in america

After hearing Northern Star, I thought this was going to be just as good or maybe even better, but sadly it wasn't. There were just too many sad and depressing ballads and too little rock songs that are Melanie's roots.
Here It Comes Again- A slow, but very enjoyable song to listen to!
Reason- The best ballad on Reason by far!
Lose Myself In You- Horrible. Not fun and highly unenjoyable.
On The Horizon- My favorite song on 'Reason'. Very fun and enjoyable.
Positively Somewhere- Another one of my favorites. A good song and the lyrics are amazing.
Melt- An OK song but definitely should've not been released. Not a good single if you're trying to get people to buy your album.
Do I- The only other good ballad worth listening to.
Soul Boy- Pathetic. I don't even know how that song got onto a CD. Good thing that was the only song Mel C didn't write.
Water- Another song worth listening to. It gets old after a while though.
Home- Not a very good ballad and definetley no worth listening to. So Depressing!!!
Let's Love- Now we're getting back to her roots. Lovin' it!
Yeh Yeh Yeh- My 2nd favorite song. Theses are the songs she should do all the time.

Melanie C's debut album "Northern Star" was well-received by both fans and critics. Her strength as a solo artist shined in songs like "I Turn To You" and "Never Be The Same Again". While her debut had strength and was musically diverse, Melanie had yet to impress with her vocals, and the inconsistent styles displayed throughout her debut made the flow from song to song rugged.

The recent release of Melanie C's latest effort, "Beautiful Intentions", shows Melanie has come into her own as a glamorous and feminine (but still strong in spirit) rocker. Her second album "Reason" falls somewhere in between the sparkly melodies of "Northern Star" and the harsh honesty of "Beautiful Intentions". Clearly, Melanie's singing is far more impressive on "Reason" than on her debut. The melodies are laid back, and most of the songs featured on the album would sit comfortably in the adult contemporary genre. There's a charming closeness surrounding "Reason"; somehow, the songs seem familiar upon hearing them for the first time. This familiarity, though extremely inviting at times, can often seem somewhat uninspired and, dare I say it, boring. However, Melanie's song writing is to be commended, and in particular, her lyrics are insightful and thought provoking.

Most of the tunes on "Reason" adopt a sunny and positive vibe. Even the sad songs have silver linings of hope and optimism. "Lose Myself in You" and "Positively Somewhere" both come to the conclusion that it's ok to be uncertain of what the future holds, whether it's in a romantic relationship or at the turning point of ones life. "Melt" and "Water" both have simple but gorgeous introductions, including acoustic guitars and subtle backing chords. Most songs have a lazy-summer-day disposition, but there are several moments of glory on "Reason", including the peppy and inspirational "On The Horizon", which features brass instruments and has a very infectious beat. Other favorites include the soulful and relaxing "Do I", with some of Melanie's best vocals on the album (her lower range sounds beautiful here). In "Let's Love" we get a sample of what was to come with Melanie's newest album "Beautiful Intentions"; it's easily the hardest rocking song on the album, with strong electric guitars and a lyrical intensity. Perhaps the best moment of the album comes with "Home", featuring Melanie's vocals stretching successfully from soft and lush to loud and commanding. The musical production in the song is also worth mentioning; there's a lovely balance of guitars, sparkly keyboards and intense chords.

Overall, "Reason" is a soothing sound to the ears. It isn't very innovative, but it sounds comfortable. The album's flow is much smoother than "Northern Star" and the lyrics are more pleasant to listen to. In spite of all that, I would still recommend "Northern Star" over this. "Reason" is so laid back; it's less impressive and more simplistic. Even though the album shines as a whole, emotionally moving and climactic moments are few and far between. If you really want to go for an emotional ride, I'd recommend Melanie's newest album "Beautiful Intentions". But these lighthearted tunes make this album an avenue worth exploring.

I decided to buy this because Mel C was my favourite out of the Spice Girls, but it's a huge disappointment.
Here It Comes Again is quite cool and powerful, On The Horizon is a feel-good sunny tune and Positively Somewhere is ok but she could have done a lot better.

This is the song to have. Rarely does a song elicit such emotion in the listener. It is so powerful. What this song does to me I can barely describe. It touches me on such a deep level but still keeps the energy flowing. Get it ASAP!

I love this remix single "I Turn To You (Hex Hector Remix)" is the biggest and best dance song to ever hit the dance floor in US clubs in 2001.

When I heard this song for the first time and found out it was one of the Spice Girls, I couldn't believe it! It's upbeat, and memorable tune make it one of the better dance tracks to be released presently. For me, if I can remember the tune long after I have heard it, that means it's a good song to me. For those who like "house music" or "Euro-HiNRG", this song will not let you down.

This is one of those songs that when it comes on and your not up dancing then, theres something wrong, from the spice girls till now she has comea long way and this song is absolutely incredible i recommend it to anyone who loves to dance you wont be dissappointed in your purchase.

Who would have ever thought that one of the Spice Girls could ever have a song like this?! This is a smokin' dance track! It has it all; Great lyrics, a high-energy beat, and smooth breakdowns/buildups. What more could you want? The remixes are all first-rate. Slap this on or in your deck and get ready to throw down! This should be a club classic. Everyone, who doesn't already know, will Turn To You and ask what this song is. So just check this track out and be ready to get your SWERVE on!

I love this song, and I think that it is highly underrated. With the combination of Melanie's soft vocals and Lisa's rap you just can't go wrong. The version of the song that I prefer is the single edit. This cd also includes the Lisa Lopes remix and the video which is amazing.

Melanie C is my favorite spice girl and I just love her voice. I rate her Northern Star CD 5 stars. It is just worth its weight in Gold. I bought this single as a way of getting some of her B-sides.
1. Never be the same again(single edit)....Not quite the same as the album version. Still good and somewhat mysterious...Just like the album version.
2. I WONDER WHAT IT WOULD BE LIKE...forgive me for not being able to classify it as techno or disco or both, but if you bought Geri Halliwells b-sides for 'calling' you could compare it to 'destiny'. Its about wanting someone as a lover. If you really, really like 'Never be the same again' you will like this song.
3. Never be the same again(lisa lopes remix)...a very interesting beat and remix.
4. The video is cool...It is as mysterious as the song itself. Not quite futuristic but very intelligent.

I would just like to add that the first remix is one of the extra tracks on the northern star reissue so unless you were really interested in the b-side or the video I suggest the album

I've only seen the video to this song a few times on "The Box" and I have to say this song is great! Too bad, it didn't do that well in the US but the song is great and I recommend it to everyone!

When I first heard the album I thought this should have been the first song released and I'm happy to see that it is finally seeing the light of day. One word "excellent" combination here Mel is such a great vocalist and lisa just flows. This song really grooves and the Lisa Lopez mix really makes the track even funkier. I highly recommend it.

This is Sporty Spice Melanie C's First Number one solo hit in the UK. Is it because of her Talent? Is it because of the media push? is it because the song Features TLC member "Left eye" Lisa Lopez in it? Actually its all of these! Mel has had some problems with her other solo songs becuase critics havent really been on her side and Spice Fans have found it a bit too rockish to swallow. But for once she got what she deserved, which was a little Positve endorsement. Mel who prefers rock and pop similar to Madonna, has outdone herself by this hip-hop/pop duet. Mel has grown in this track, it doesn't feature that whinny sound she usually has (e.g Stop & Who do you think you are) For Spice Fans, don't be afraid, it may be a new direction but its a good direction. For TLC fans, its different but its good (the single features a Lisa lopez mix which sounds typical of the TLC style). For people who haven't heard any of Mel's solo material, this is the song for you. END

You have come to the right place if you want the best versions of I Turn To You. Get this version instead of the other versions. This song just blows me away every time I hear it. I feel this song so much I can barely describe it to you. If you don't own it, what are you waiting for? A timeless Club classic.

I bought this CD single yesterday. I wish in the U.S. the charts were like in the U.K., where Victoria's new videos are #1 and other one is #3. And they also have the hit Spice Girls solo careers.
Even though I didn't get the stickers, I thought this CD single was really GREAT! I love it and thought it was the bomb! I like that Lisa Left Eye Lopes (may her rest in peace) was in "Never Be The Same Again". The video is also really good!
I encourage you all to go out and buy this album! It is great and her voice really shines!

All that I can say is that I love this song!! The Hex Hector Club Mix is without a doubt the best remix on this cd, and it's worth buying the cd alone. Overall, I highly recommend this cd. If you are into dance/club music you will not go wrong here.

Well, melanie c has sure taken a big leap away from her days as a spice girl. the first time i heard this track was on a muisc video network and fell in love with the song and had to get the album. but, if i would have known that only 3 of the tracks were worth listening to, i would not have spent so much money on it. the first track, the hex hector radio edit, of "i turn to you" is a wonderful dance remake. it is typical hex hector material and sounds wonderful. the second as well as fifth tracks, are alright remixes and sound too much like techno for my liking but are still listenable for me. the full length hex hector remix is much like the radio edit but is almost 3 times as long. the 4th track, a live version of her hit, "never be the same again" is a wonderful ballad which features lisa "left eye" lopes of tlc. melanie c, "i turn to you" is a great effort at a remix single release and is worth buying if you like pure dance and club music.

I really am not fond of the Spice Girls or of Melanie C.'s solo work but this remix is actually enjoyable. I love dance music and it was impossible for me to despise this song. Hex Hector is one of my favorite remixers and he did wonders on his club mix of "I Turn to You". The remix job he did on this song almost reminds me of Paul Van Dyk with his trance beats. Although I love this song, I still can't bring myself to forgive Melanie C. for her atrocious work with the Spice Girls and as a solo artist. I don't think going with a alternative sound scored her much points but as a dance artist she has potential. If she continued to do songs in the vein of "I Turn to You" I could almost bring myself to forget that she was ever in the Spice Girls...almost.
