Natasha definately has destinctive vocals and makes an impressive debut. I did not hear this offering before hearing her latest entitled Pocketful Of Sunshinez(2008) which is a solid improvement(5 stars). But when you are working from a four star rating(Unwritten) you don't have that much to improve; she proves this with her first two releases. Unwritten is a very thoughtproking song. I especially like her writing ability; althought, they are generally written collaborably, the songs sound like something she would say and that makes listening to her more believable.

This music is enjoyable for listening. The CD as a who,e is not exactly what I expected.

She is a very good singer I did not know she is the one who plays that lital song and I had to get it when I found out and I really love her sonfs they are uplifing. Great songs Great singer

Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield is one fun and charming debut album from this beautiful singer/songwriter. These Words (I Love You, I Love You) was her breakthough hit, still sounds great three years later. Single and Unwritten are also outstanding tracks as well. Some of my favorite songs on this album include: Slient Movie, I Bruise Easily, The One That Got Away, Stumble, If You're Gonna, Wild Horses, and the hidden track, Sojourn. Bedingfield's voice is soulful, lively, and quite impressive. This gal can definitely sang!! There were some great albums released in 2005, and this one is no exception. I highly recommend this gem and her sophomore album, enjoy!

I just received Natasha's newest CD, when all of a sudden I saw her debut vid off of this. As a matter of fact, that vid is also her debut album's name: Unwritten. The tracks from 1-13 are so seclusive, but 5 of them from both are my favorite tracks off of both thus far, and I'm rating them as this month goes on. They are:

5. Who Knows- 9.4/10, a pretty breezy track
4. These Words(I Love You, I Love You)- a perfect 10, THAT'S THE VID I SAW!
3. I Bruise Easily- 9.8/10, 2nd vid for the album
2. Pocketful of Sunshine- a perfect 10, my favorite song off of the new album
1. Unwritten- also a perfect 10, but also my favorite off the debut

I guess everyone's awaiting Natasha's new vid for Pocketful of Sunshine, and I know I am. The songs she wrote are all that romantic, as is her voice. This girl's my #1 artist of all time!

No one knew about track #13 which is a cover of Wild Horses though.

....who try to sing, whose words you either can't understand, or wish you couldn't, Natasha is a breath of fresh air. A total joy. Sexy does NOT mean trashy; Natasha is sexy, clean, and a treasure. She comes from a background in Christian music, and the lessons have stuck....

This is [sort of] the Brit version of "Pocketful of Sunshine"...each album has songs the other doesn't. My own favorites are "I Wanna Have Your Babies" [yes, it's perfectly clean], "Soulmate" and the reprise of "Unwritten". Most of the songs are about relationships, but none of the problems are TOO bad. "Tricky Angel" is really novel, "Backyard" is catchy, and "Smell the Roses" is special, with a great message....

This is a wonderful record...pleasant, clear, voice...lyrics that never offend...rock, but not hard. If you don't know Natasha, you're missing out.....

Hold it! This is obvious. How can Natasha do this to us? This album, if I can explain this long story short, is awkward and so off track. I mean, look at this: Tricky Angel? I think They're Thinking? That, in my case, is not like Unwritten and Pocketful of Sunshine, which are the real gems. This kinda looks like a cd I never will pick up.

This is the most amazing CD I've heard by her. "I Wanna Have Your Babies" is the best song by far. Also there are two hidden tracks on the CD Lay Down and Loved By You they are great songs. I don't have the CD but I'm getting it next week. I've already heard all the songs on youtube and this CD is worth buying!

I caught one of the songs (turned out to be "Soulmate") on a TV show and quickly rewound it to write down the lyrics to later search for the song. I have heard the name before but didn't really know her music, except Unwritten. This album was a great surprise with the whitty lyrics and Natasha's great voice. It's a wonderful departure from the overprocessed pop music of these days. Some of the songs are funny, some serious, some just entertaining but overall great quality.

Is this the artist who sings the song "Shine" in the hair care commercial? What is the name of the song and is it on this import CD?
I would really appreciate some help - I love this song and it drives me crazy that I don't have a title to buy it. Thanks.

....the video portion of this has some problems. What we have here is a Dual Disc rendering of the American version of her "Unwritten" album. My five star opinions of Natasha, and of this recording, are already on record. The songs carry a message, and are superbly done. Nasasha is a gorgeous girl, with a wonderful, and clear, voice. But...............

The DVD side is difficult to work. The menu is poorly highlighted, and selection of any particular track is hard. Oh, the enhanced audio sounds great on my TV, and the videos are beautiful. [How could Natasha be otherwise]? But, I like to be able to select without a hassle.

Natasha, I love you...keep your audio engineer, and your cameraman...fire your video engineer.

A few good songs. If you can download a song or two, go ahead. Would not recommend purchasing the entire cd.

after seeing Miss Natasha perform "Unwritten" and "These Words" live at the Dick Clark "Rockin' New Years Eve" party (yes it's pre-taped). I'd only heard these two songs on the radio and didn't know much about her - but she was so cute and spunky I couldn't wait to run out and buy her cd. (Though the producer did say "oh good, she's in a good mood today.", which made me wonder, is she normally uber cranky? But I digress..)

I did like the song "Wild Horses" and the two aforementioned, but the rest of the cd was extremely disappointing - not a memorable track among them. I wanted to make "Single" my anthem - but could never end up getting into it.

Don't bother buying the cd - go to iTunes or something and just get those 3 tracks...

I was going to buy the CD. After all the warnings about the XCP software, I am considering just downloading the tracks, instead. If I could directly pay Ms. Bedingfield for her music, I would.

This album infuses dance, R&B, pop & rock. It blends them incredibly well! Here it is track-by-track:

1. These Words: Natasha's US debut single & sophomore UK single. Reason I bought this & I'm not disappointed! Great R&B tune about expressing your love on paper & writing songs in general. I can relate since I myself am a budding thirteen-year-old songwriter. 10/10

2. Single: I own the DualDisc version of this album, so I get the treat of seeing the UK music video of the song, which I think is also the US one. Third US single & debut UK single. Natasha's self-proclaimed anthem for people without significant others. Infectious beat, top-notch vocals & great lyrics. The '06 mix, (which I downloaded, but is also on the 2006 re-issue of this record,) features a slight remix of beat as well as a newly recorded bridge with the added lyrics: "I'm single and I'm likin' it this way. I'm single and I'm solo and I'm happy," which add a catchy edge to the track. 10/10

3. Unwritten: Sophomore US single & third UK single. Excellent. Fabulous message in the lyrics & great beat. Love the gospel choir as well as the acoustic guitar loop. 10/10

4. Silent Movie: A rocky track with excellent vocals about asking her boyfriend to love her without any complaints or being egotistical. 10/10

5. Stumble: Letting some guy know that she knows he loves her & she loves him back. So pretty. 10/10

6. Peace of Me: Letting a guy know that he figured her out & she likes it & it actually recovers her from some depression. Very good instrumentation on this song. 9/10.

7. If You're Gonna: A rocky song letting guys know that they have to protect her & be a good man to be hers. Excellent song. 10/10

8. Drop Me in the Middle. This song features British female rapper Estelle which is cool because there's something to me about British accents that sounds so cool to me! Natasha explains on the DVD side of the DualDisc version of this album that it means to just put her anywhere and she guarantees the she alone will liven up the place. The sound is pretty cool too. 9/10.

9. We're All Mad: This track shows that we all have our bad days and it shows a reason for why we as a global population stand here today. While the lyrics send a great message this, to me, is the album's worst track. I just don't like the sound or the vocals on this song. 6.5/10.

10. I Bruise Easily: Fourth international single and rumored to be the same in America. This is a beautiful track about being very emotionally fragile and that the strong initial vibe given off was just to keep up appearances. Because of this, Natasha warns you to "be gentle when you handle her" meaning to watch what you do or say so that she doesn't go into a deep depression. 10/10.

11. The One That Got Away: An R&B/dance track with a message that conveys that Natasha is not prepared to let the man she loves slip right through her fingers. Really funky. 10/10

12. Size Matters: a bouncy dance/pop number with Natasha saying she believes size matters. *giggles* Oh, will you get your mind out of the gutter?! She means the size of a man's HEART. She does it in a really cool, funky way, too. 10/10

13 Wild Horses: A ballad about wanting to be free as her spirit desires. Very pretty although a bit dragged out. 9/10.

14. Sojourn (hidden track): A ballad, as its predecessor, but instead of using primarily piano, this track primarily uses acoustic guitar. Natasha envisions an energy that encourages her to go on with her life; a "sojourn from the north." Beautiful. 10/10

Average grade: 9/10

....and I don't believe she has ever sung a bad note. Right now, there are several pretty young girls singing across the pond. A number, like Duffy, are very good, but, for my money, Natasha tops them all.

This little album, with a gorgeous cover photo, has two songs from "NB" [the title cut, and "Chasing Cars"], and a remix of "I Wanna Have Your Babies". Of course, you want the big album, too, but this little disc is a treasure. Short on quantity; very long on quality...a real joy.

This marvelous cd is just breathtaking! The music is a bit different from other songs of Natasha's past in a way I cannot explain. Yet, I love her older songs equally as much. All in all, if you have loved Natasha's music in the past, I think you will love this single too. Cheerio!

this is her third cd that i have. it's another hit with me! did you notice my last name on the review??? yep, we are related, but she doesn't know it!!! as far as her musical style, very unique. love it!

The second album is never as good but in the case of NB there's a good reason. Natasha's first album was never out of my CD player or my Itunes playlist. NB is growing on me - slowly. But whereas her first album was very 'her' this one seems to have the heavy hand of the record label all over it. I like the songs and her distinctiveness is still there but why release different versions of the same album in the US and Europe. Record company profits! I recommend buying NB - the import - and downloading the songs from Pocketful of Sunshine off Itunes. Hopefully the label will leave her alone for album number three.

....though on this one the "Sunshine" lets in a couple of clouds. This is the UK version of the US bestseller "Pocketful of Sunshine". It's longer, having seven numbers that were dropped off of the American release. Maybe tastes are different across the pond; here, we get some sadness.

This is a wonderful album by a pretty girl with a fabulous, and understandable, voice. [OK, I've already admitted my weakness for gorgeous blondes]. Two numbers that were deleated when the album crossed the ocean stand out: "I Wanna Have Your Babies" [self-evident message if I ever saw one], and "Tricky Angel" both have an edge that the producers felt might not translate into "American". Still, this is a "feel good" album in every respect.

Natasha is a treasure...her great talent is well-supported, and the album is fully five stars. As for which release you should buy, that's a no-brainer; get BOTH. You'll be delighted. Promise.

Natasha is incredible, a class act who can truly sing. I love her lyrics and the song Soulmate. You need to go to her website and take a listen.

and if this album is short on quantity, the quality makes it worth it. Two cuts...the title, which expresses a rather overt idea, though the song is far from explicit, and a live version of "Unwritten" that singer and audience both obviously enjoyed.

Really sexy album cover [cute feet], and plenty of guts to express the desire to get pregnant so openly, though the number is clean; no reference whatever to the activity needed to induce pregnancy. Whether she really meant it, or if it's just a song, I have no idea. Great song, either way. History repeats: the cover of Carly Simon's "Hotcakes" is super sexy, and the album has a song about pregnancy. But Natasha is just singing; Carly had obviously taken action.

I love this little album; realize that it's short, but the music, and singer, are wonderful...bet you'll love it too.

What this song represents is actually quite an interesting sentiment. As Stewart Mason noted in his allmusicguide review the song can be read as a commentary; that is: "the most shocking thing a woman could say (either to her boyfriend or in a pop song) was that she wanted to procreate" (Mason's words).

My initial reactions to the songs from "Unwritten" (Bedingfield's first album) were: oh great songs about how I can't write songs. It made it seem like Bedingfield had nothing to say, which isn't uncommon in pop music, but often people say their nothing with a little more panache.

That that album was rather successful and that the single in question has been stripped from the American version of Bedingfield's sophomore album is telling in a rather sad way. It seems that we'd rather have our pop starlets brainless (the Jessica Simpson pose of too stupid to function); subservient (Slave 4 U); trite (intimating clichéd "I love you" or "I want to make love to you" sentiments); or hyper-sexualized with a caveat - the sexuality has to be non-productive (I could trace this trend through a variety of mediums).

Bedingfield isn't even actually straying that far from standard sentiments, she just takes the current "bump n' grind" lyrical sentiment, common in many songs ("Promiscuous Girl"), to its ultimate (non-cervical cancer or STD) conclusion - one that we see very clearly embodied by Brittney Spears with her two children and potential bun in the oven (add in little sister's impending maternity as well): sex=pregnancy.

Bedingfield's song, then, reads as potential commentary on Spears ("I see them springing up like daisies") and on America's current nonchalant attitude towards sexuality ("What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas / but what if it don't"). At the same time, the saccharine nature of the song makes it anything but a vitriolic response (Chris Crocker won't be needing to make an encore performance of his hit single "Leave Brittney Alone;" in fact Bedingfield's song is so catchy that Chris ought to film a video asking the record label to make the single more readily available to an American audience).

It's annoying enough that this song isn't available as download (or in fact in any form other than import), but on top of that iTunes (and Amazon as well actually) are carrying a cover version by a "band" poetically enough called "Tune Robbers." So, even if I decide that I do want a copy of the song (at an economical price) my money won't even be going directly to Bedingfield (though one imagines that she'll get a royalty).

Natasha is back with her new single "I Wanna Have Your Babies"! The track is quirky, fun, and extremely catchy. The melody of the song is a bit like her previous songs "These Words" and "Size Matters", but this one is still a unique track. The lyrics are silly, but not completely pointless. The instrumentation on the track is good, and Natasha's vocal deliverance on this track is great! This track is a great way to lead on her new album 'N.B.', and you won't be disappointed by this amazing song!

the first three remixes are good. "Love Like This" (Johnny Vicious Warehouse Mix) is absolute crap. There is 3 seconds of the original song in here.

I like this woman and her songs; Great, harmless lyrics and great melodies. However, she should be a lot more descerning about who she lets remix her stuff, and exercise some discretion about publishing the amateurish, noisy racket this cd contains. The original song: Great. The remixes: Absolute crap.
