The product is more than I anticipated, Anne Murray, one of my favorites (I am in her age group) singing with many of my favorite more contemporary women. The seller was quick to mail and perfectly acceptable in all respects. Thanks, Amazon, for linking us up with outside sellers.

Oh, Anne, I just fall in love again... with your voice!! Dusty Springfield, Carole King--how great to hear all the lady troubadours on this CD. It's a beautiful collection of duets. Put it in your vehicle if you commute to work and you'll be singing by the time you get there! Really nice...

I'm a fan! I grew up with Anne Murray and absolutely love her voice. This cd of duets is a fun, fresh way to introduce her old songs. I prefer Anne's voice alone but this new twist is worth listening to...I enjoyed it! The duet with KD Lang is my favorite...their voices are so complimentary.

I anticipated a good rendition by all artistes after listening to samples, but it surpassed my expectations.
Anne is a wonderful singer and her duet with fellow Canadian Celine Dion live,is extraordinary. Not to metion Sarah Brightman (another favourite singer of mine). What a performance by all. Could you imagine if Anne got together with another favourite of mine(Nana Mouskouri)? That would be a great joy to me.

As a kid I always listen to my mum who always played Anne Murray's song over and over again. The reason I purchased this album is to have a memory to my mum. Almost all the tracks in the CD had been heard before but this album is different as Anne included a lot of others artist which gives a different kind of feeling. Anne wrote a great deal of all the artist she duets with in this album, and it is worth enough for buyer who love Anne's music.

If She Was Going To "Sell Out" She Could've Had A Better Selection Of Songs. These Songs All Sound Noisy, Like A Bunch Of Racket Going On.

I was never a big Nelly Furtado fan, she had her hits here and there but for me to buy a Cd no way. So she come out with Timbalan, huge hit!!!! from there on, forget it. This CD it's awesome, one of the best of it's year. And what I like the most it's that she's not afraid to used different ppl for her songs, collabarations with Juanes, Calle 13 and Timbalan, no matter who you are what you like there's a song in here for you.

After that last album many people wondered what happened to Nelly?

I understand that producing a debut album at times it is difficult to create your own independent style and she struggled with with that on her second album as she tried to gain some control over the music she created. She wanted to create something that was uniquely her.

The result?

She is a multi-talented artist.

Her songs have a great beat and tempo that lead to classic dance tunes such as "Say It Right" or "Promiscuous." Furtado then shows her softer side with slow melodic songs such as "All Good Things (Come to an End)" and "In God's Hands." What I was most pleased to see was another Spanish duet with artist Juanes in "Te Busque." Not a lot of artists would have ventured into the Spanish market and the songs are done well. Neither translation will have you wondering what happened to the translator as they make sense.

It's an album that takes a lot of risk and variety, but she succeeds. Some people may not like this new Nelly, but I do believe that she has proven that she can delve into various music genres and still be herself.

Must buy this cd. Nelly Furtado is awesome. All the songs have a really good beat to them. Timbaland hooked her up.

It's sad what Hip Hop became during the time when Nelly was hot and what we're seeing and hearing now are the remnants of that time in hip hop - these simple word rhyming dudes are slowly realizing they don't have much too go until realness, creativity and true Hip Hop comes back with a vengeance - the true fans know the difference and it's showing in Nelly's album sales -

I have been a fan from the start and this CD is not a disappointment. I really love the beats and the collaboration with the other artist

Brass Knuckles is defintely an epic album for Nelly. We haven't heard anything from him since The Longest Yard Soundtrack. Nelly proves why he is the an expert at party rap music that can be accepted by everyone. with collobrations from Rick Ross, Ashanti, T.I., and LL Cool J, Nelly is truly showing just how accepted he has become to mainstream America. Brass Knuckles is must have for any Nelly fan.

After the great SUIT, Nelly was truly on top of his game. As poppish as that album was, it was strong. Who would've thought that Nelly would ever fall out of the limelight or that his pop-rap excursions would fall flat. Both of those terrible things happen on BRASS KNUCKLES. After a 4 year hiatus, you would expect that Nelly would be ready to comeback with a star-studded 4-star affair, much like SUIT was 4 years ago (Sweatsuit was issued in 2005 combining SUIT/SWEAT). BRASS KNUCKLES, much like Jay-Z's KINGDOM COME comeback falls short. The difference between those two is that KINGDOM COME was at least enjoyable. BRASS KNUCKLES just plain feels second-rate. Even the standout tracks aren't nearly as potent as Nelly's past triumphs - "Body On Me" featuring Akon and Ashanti feels stale, even though it is on of BRASS KNUCKLES standout's. "Party People" is fun enough, but its overall stupidity catches up quickly. I mean, Fergie rapping was so 2006. Evidently, Nelly rapping was so 2004, since he sounds so uninspired on BRASS KNUCKLES.

The album opens mediocrely with "U Ain't Him" featuring the ubiquitous Rick Ross. It's nothing to write home about for sure. The T.I./LL Cool J featuring "Hold Up" is at least fun, and the beat is sick, but still, it doesn't truly captivate the listener. "La" features an uninspiring Snoop Dogg, which does nothing for the momentum of the album. Usher shines on "Long Night", unfortunately, the track is forgettable. "Lie" featuring the St. Lunatics is average as well and ultimately forgettable. "Party People" featuring Fergie has only so much sustaining power before a couple of listens makes it sound as uninspired as everything else. "Self-Esteem" featuring Chuck D is a clear-cut miss and perhaps one of the corniest Nelly tracks - EVER. "Body On Me", a rather underrated single restores some momentum, and a couple of great proceeding tracks via "Stepped on My J'z" (featuring JD & Ciara) and "Let It Go Lil' Mama" (featuring Pharrell) finally bring some muscularity to a rather tepid album. From there, BRASS KNUCKLES falls on its arse with a couple of forgettable uninspired numbers ("One and Only", "Chill", "Who F***s Wit Me", and "Ucud Gedit").

It's unfortunate for Nelly BRASS KNUCKLES turned out so tepid. I don't recommend this album, particularly with many better hip-hop albums (Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, The Game...) 2 stars is generous.

Anyone who listens to the radio should remember hearing "Country Grammar", "E.I.", "Ride Wit' Me", and "Batter Up" on any given station when Nelly first debuted in 2000. He created quite a buzz when he first came out because he was a rapper but he wasn't talking about killing you, stealing from you or anything of that nature. He rapped about lighter subjects like sitting next to Vanna White on airplanes, getting paid off of country grammar and hanging with his friends, The Saint Lunatics.

"Country Grammar" is a decent album, but the only song that truly impressed me was "Ride Wit' Me." There are some other mentionable moments, but that's definitely one of his finest tracks to date. "Ride Wit' Me" has an amazing beat and melody. It defines "rider music" because of its laid back feel. The title track is another song worth mentioning. When this song debuted, I don't know how many people I heard singing that unforgettable hook. And who could forget the video which featured Nelly getting down in his Saint Louis Rams jersey and matching sneakers. "Greed, Hate and Envy" and "Tho Dem Wrappas" are alright songs, but not in any way memorable. Nelly lyrics are definitely not top notch. In fact, his rhymes are pretty weak often times. But what makes people continue to listen to him is his energetic delivery and inflections. He is a bit different from the average rapper because he makes plenty of party songs. Production-wise, there is nothing special about this album.

As a unit, this album is remotely enjoyable. If you were to purchase it, you would find a couple of numbers you liked, but you would also find dull moments. In all honesty, you want to purchase this one at your own risk.

WHY DO YOU PEOPLE KEEP CALLING RAP, "R & B"? What Wilson Pickett, Aretha, James Brown, Otis Redding, Gladys Knight sang is "R & B". Not this stuff. It's rap and hip/hop. Call it what it is, please!

This album clearly displays the one thing many people have known for some
time. Nelly is not, nor will he ever be, hip-hop. Nelly is a true disservice to those great artists that established what hip-hop is all about. Do yourselves a favor and go listen to The Roots, Wu-Tang Clan, KRS-One, and there are so many others, I don't have time to name. Just anything but this guy.

I'll admit it. I remember the summer of 2000. Everyone was playing the song 'Country Grammar' by Nelly and it was a great track. After hearing that and his next single, 'E.I.', which was also pretty good, I bought this album and, well, was very disappointed.

Although it's not terrible in the sense of how his albums are today (well, any album released by Nelly after this debut), this is still a lackluster album with a limited number of good tracks. The vast majority of great or decent songs were singles (Country Grammar, E.I., and Batter Up). Other than that, 'Luven Me' (where he talks about his early life as a teenager) and 'St. Louie' are pretty good, but the rest of the album is boring garbage. Even the good songs lack the spark that made them so great years ago. Chalk 'Country Grammar' up as a forgettable debut by an artist who has gone even further downhill from here.

I do not listen to very much classical music, but...I listen to this Disc quite often. My Wife grew up in front of a piano, and she has played many of these selections, and she is quite familiar with almost everything persented here. This is a CD that we both, {coming from two completly different musicial worlds} can both agree upon. This CD is wonderful and it belongs in any music collection.

With: "Fur Elise" leading the way through to: "Prelude-Well Tempered Clavier, Book 1, No. 1" this is piano as it was meant to be presented. This is the music that Schroeder loves to play. One listen to this, and it is easy to see why. When Schroeder plays these classic selections on his little toy piano {with Lucy right there bugging him} he seems to drift to another place, now I understand why this is so, like any other music that is as great as this, you will be transported.

This is just a sample of some of the greatest music of the last 600 years. With: Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Schubert, Scarlatti, Schumann, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Tchaikovsky & Chopin. Every musicial piece has that spark and clarity of what perked our ears to these wonderful selections, all those years ago when we heard this music as background to a Bugs Bunny Cartoon {bowl of cereal, is optional.}

This collection is generous {34 tracks, 68.5 minutes} and as a bonus, the final selection is: "Linus & Lucy" by Vince Guaraldi, that was featured in the TV Special: "A Charlie Brown Christmas" in the early 1960's. Again, I am very limited in my knowledge of the classics, but this is one of the most enjoyable CD's of piano works that I have ever come across. I have sampled this music on small children, and it has always had a positive effect on them as well. From 3 to 83, this CD has something for everyone...Timeless Music played to perfection.

The album, Schroeder's Greatest Hits is a compilation of pure classical performance with a little bit of fun mixed in it and is showcased by the flawless execution on technique by the 'real' performers. I would whole heartedly recommend this disk for anyone who has loved Peanuts cartoon OR an aspiring pianist.

If you enjoy the Peanuts cartoons will will enjoy the music played by the Peanuts character Schroeder.

This CD is great. The only flaw it has is that the first track starts with what I is supposed to be a cute little intro. You're tormented with the sound of someone playing on what is likely supposed to be a toy piano. It would be okay if this little bit of annoyance sat on its own track, but it unfortunately serves as the beginning of the first track, ultimately ruining it. So every time you want to hear Fur Elise, you need to hear this annoying toy piano intro. If they had only put the toy piano intro on its own track, this CD would be perfect.

mozart,beethove,chopin,bach are just a few of the composers who's music is featured on here,i would highly recommend this for anyone who likes classical as it has a wide range of styles and it is a greatest hits of sorts in that alot of the songs will be familiar to anyone who has either studied the piano or just likes this type of music

First let me talk about Nelly's"Nellyville" Uhm its...Trash!!!!! Lmao!Its not even worth talking about at all. Now lets talk about Nelly going against Krs one ? Whoa Nelly! was one of the very first CDs I bought when I got my first CD car stereo in my little blue Escort; I had loved the song "Turn Out The Lights" which I had heard on a magazine compilation. By the time I knew all the songs her real single hit the airwaves "I'm Like A Bird" and she was every where and the CD was put to rest.

Now that she's all promiscuous with Timbaland, I thought I'd revisit the CD that made me a fan and wonder what went wrong with the girl. From the debut album I would never have seen her heading to the trip hop slutty imagery she's so happy carrying now, back then she was actually taking real chances by using her voice and some strange effects to create a new world of music; using bared soul for lyrics despite how young or ill effected that soul was; the songs were good and I was singing along through her pain, her sassiness, her beat changes and recollections of how life should be. If you want to hear the kootchy koo world of Nelly find her latest album but if you actually want to hear an actually interesting little album get this one.

I had no idea who the heck Nelly was, while at work on a long drive, the guy i was with had a choice of 3 CD's, this one, some Brazilian love CD and god knows what the other was, for some reason I chose this one.

Instantly from the moment it started, it gave me a headache, who is Nelly? How did she get a record deal? Her voice was irritating, her lyrics where trash, and what is with the side singer that sounds like he is talking through a paper mega phone?

I could not wait to get back to the office and get the hell out of the car away from this %#!%.

Every single song has the same annoying and irritating beat, every song sounded the same (bad) and there was nothing on this album that could make me understand who the hell could listen to this crap.

I love Nelly. Seriously. She's very truthful and I find her spirit to be not only touching but relate-able and real. I love most of her lyrics, and although for Loose she resorted to a more R&B/dance type of deal, I still respect her highly as an artist. I just hope that she will revert back to this style for her 4th outing because this music is almost as good as it gets.

There are a few tracks that skate on the filler side so I'll mention those first:

Baby Girl - Has some OK lyrics, but it doesn't really stand out much.
Trynna Find A Way - This song is far from bad. And is almost light years ahead of 95% of the crap that fills radio stations these days. I kind of like the vibe it gives off. And the guitar is kinda cool. But it could've been more, I guess.

But that's it. The rest is solid stuff that is catchy but not ridiculously so, and you find yourself embarrassed to listen to it years later. None of that here.

My favorite songs are (in order):

Turn Off The Lights - Awesome lyrics. Just an awesome song in general. Love how she initially says, "It's getting so lonely inside this bed..."
Party - Awesome lyrics. "I feel like falling asleep and never waking up. It's not that my glass is empty, I just need another cup."
Well, Well - Very upbeat, catchy and makes you wanna dance it's so lovely! Gotta love it!
...On The Radio (Remember The Days) - Good song. Has nice lyrics.
Legend - Love the piano. Love the relaxing vibe it has.
My Love Grows Deeper Part 1 - This song is awesome. I can't explain why, but it is.

This CD is not to be missed. She even improves a bit with her second release, Folklore. I'd start with that. Unless, you aren't into different sounds because that CD isn't exactly radio-friendly.

Every song is just fantastic! I'm playing the CD a LOT! My first real knowledge of Nelly Furtado. After buying this CD, I bought the other 2: Loose and Folklore; I hope I get to like them as much. But Whoa, Nelly! was NO struggle to get to love. A good workout CD as well. A lot of variety in the songs tempo and arrangement, but it all holds together

I definitely think we're lucky to have Nelly in the music industry, as this album clearly proves. There are really no bad songs on this album. Her voice is different and amazing, and there are moments on this CD that just take your breath away.

Let me begin by saying...if you are a new fan of Nelly[Loose era and beyond] then this may not be what you want. On the other hand if you loved Whoa Nelly and want more of Nelly's collection of appropriately placed words and phrases then this is your new lover. Slow, mellow and ballad-like. Nelly showcases her story-telling abilities here and if you really sit down and listen to these songs you'll grow to love them. Picture Perfect[favorite], Build You Up and Childhood Dreams are among my most played on this album. My favortie album ever so far. I could go on for days probably, but i'll stop now. Haha

I loved Nelly Furtado on the "Loose" CD and I love her in concert. I was impressed with the many positive reviews on here of her CD "Folklore."
It was an easy decision to get it after all the positivity. HOWEVER, after listening to it many times it has not grown on me and I really am disappointed in it. I do not see how so many loved it. Not me, I wish I had of never had bought it.

Shortly after I bought this CD a few years ago, I read a review on Rolling Stone's Web site that gave it just 2 out of 5 stars. I remember thinking the reviewer was either crazy or had an axe to grind with Nelly. Then the album sold very few copies. I saw Nelly in concert at a small venue in New Jersey during the tour for this CD, and while it was a great show, it was not a full crowd.

But beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I still love this CD. It definitely lacks the killer mainstream hit, but "Saturdays" is the only song on the CD that I don't really like. I can put that album in the CD player and not touch a button for an hour. It's a great listening experience.

I've always considered "One Trick Pony" my favorite song on the CD. "Explode" is also great. "Try" is a beautiful song. "Childhood Dreams" is a heartfelt song that I could listen to over and over. "Build You Up" has a pretty nice beat to it despite its solemn tone. Nelly is a skilled songwriter, and she remembers her roots while experimenting with new sounds. Regardless of what the critics say, I love this CD and always will.

I purchased this CD the day it came out, and it has been a favorite ever since. I believe that this CD showcases Nelly Furtado's talent unlike any of her others. (Although I am very fond of her first CD and like Loose well enough) Folklore is defiantely worth a listen.

I'm going to start off by saying that this is my first album from her. It's great and I imagine that it'd be hard for her other two albums to be better, especially Loose.

But anyway...

I'm now a big fan of Nelly Furtado because of this album. It shows her talent as a writer and also displays the truth, realism and magic that she is truly capable of.

When she stepped on the scene in the early 2000s, I didn't really think much of her. In fact, her debut single, Like A Bird kinda made me want to smash the radio. However, there was something special about Turn Off The Light that caught my attention.

Flash forward to 2003. Nelly drops her second album, Folklore and her first single from the album, Powerless (Say What You Want). While I liked the single, it didn't make me wanna go out and purchase the album, so I didn't. A year or two later, I was standing in line at Tops (before it got torn down and changed to Martin's) and her radio single, Try was on. I enjoyed the song, but still, no buy.

Fast forward to January 2007. I finally buy the album. And although it is a bit uneven, it still has its moments, and is worth owning. One-Trick Pony is the start off track and is very "stand out-ish" with its oh-so-not-typical Hip-Hop beat. Explode is refreshing. Try, I admit, was the first song in a LONG while that had made me sad. For some reason, it got to me. Fresh Off The Boat has an upbeat demeanor. Forca definitely isn't your typical pop song. And I mean that in a good way. The Grass Is Green is laid back - the guitar and the enchanting lullaby-esque production work make it so.
Picture Perfect is a delight. I used to listen to it when walking around the Fredonia campus sometimes (I only took a music class there) and it was kinda relaxing. Saturdays is the first song that I just don't get. Nelly just lists a couple of things: the place she's at, her feelings and what's happening and it's not very exciting. And it never takes off. And while the next song, Build You Up is MUCH better, it's also very repetitive. Island Of Wonder is kind of a head scratcher. But I'd rather listen to that than anything T-Pain puts out! Childhood Dreams is adorable, and very anthem-ish by the end. Took me a while to "get it" but now I do. The only thing is it might be a bit too long, running at 6 minutes and 33 seconds.

I guess this CD displays Nelly's culture in a way, with the different sounds it gives, if that makes any sense.

It has a few bumps, but most CDs do. This one has them at the very end. But overall, if you want a unique pop experience that mildly makes you think, then you can't miss this!

End note: If you've NEVER heard a complete Nelly Furtado release, I would start with this one or the first, Whoa, Nelly just so you get a taste of what she's really like without the AWESOME beats of Loose. That sounds weird, but TRUST me, just get her first or second release FIRST (I've reviewed all 3 of her albums already)!

Some of the songs are very relaxing and others are very jarring and chaotic. As a massage therapist these aren't good for listening to during a massage or while trying to relaxe. If you're having friends over for a nice dinner, this cd would be perfect.

The real Beethoven would probably be irritated with compilation CD's like this that "cherry picks" a variety of slow movements from various works he composed. But, the average listener today will see it as a great way to get to know his music and enjoy an hour of more serene music - less Beethoven's more intense movements. The variery here is broad: solo piano, violin + piano, string quartet and full orchestra symphonies and concertos. The dreamy solo-piano pieces are some of Beethoven's most beloved and alluring slow movements that vaulted him to fame. While these and the chamber music tend to be more "relaxing," the latter orchestral pieces especially contain shifts in tempo, dynamic range and emotion that some might not find so relaxing. After all, this is Beethoven with a full orchestra and not Bach or the Baroque.

But, all is not lost if you are looking for a collection of serene, lyrical music composed by the great Beethoven. There actually is a CD that features some of Beethoven's most endearing and melodic adagios and largos: "Beethoven for Book Lovers" (Philips label). This CD is mostly comprised of the nicest slow movements from Beethoven's ten violin sonatas (violin + piano) played by the legendary David Oistrakh - a violinist with one of the most gentle and beautiful tone ever recorded. Fortunately for those wanting uninterupted peacefulness, there are only a couple of those typical "Beethoven outbursts" in this CD (very brief though). But, overall, the flow and tone of the entire CD is truly relaxing, enchanting and not distracting. All of these works reveal the gentle side of Beethoven and his surprizing ability (for such a fiery composer) to write music of such poinant and tenderhearted emotional appeal. Also, the "Chopin for Relaxation" is one of the better ones in this series and features some of Chopin's slower, more serene solo-piano music and the ever-so lovely middle movements from his two legendary piano concertos.

Ok, I'll admit, this is a pretty good album, but it lacks the feeling of Beethoven. Its songs don't sound like Beethoven is playing, and its not too relaxing. It deserves three stars because of this lack of the great Beethoven himself. Sure, the songs are pretty, but I'd buy a different album if I was you.

My family likes to put this disc in on shuffle and play name that tune. I wish they made more discs like this, only with more obscure works.

The Idiot's Guide to Calssical Music is an awesome Cd for those people who want to have a tiny sample of all the great classical compositions. Track 61 and 63 are my favorite.

Yes, this CD really does have 99 tracks. How do they do it? Each is about a minuet long. Some are longer, some are shorter, but you get the micro-essential moments of the music.

If you like burning your own CDs, then this is a great source for intra-track fillers, along the lines of They Might Be Giants' "Apollo 18" album, which has all of those short tracks on the end. The idea is to put your CD player on shuffle, so the short tracks get mixed in with the bona fide songs. The result being a very unusual album.

The booklet gives an explanation of the track, where you heard it (i.e. the Warner Brother's Cartoons, or on famous films), and where you can get the full piece of music. So it's a mega sampler CD.

I can honestly say that this CD is a great gift for the friend who has everything.

For the beginner. You will be surprised at how many of the 99 themes you recognize here. It is an easy introduction to classical music. Nice booklet too.

Take it for what it is, a clever and useful GUIDE to classical music. No, it is NOT an uncut rendition of Beethoven's 9th symphony. It IS a cd that will jog your memory. You have heard many of the tunes presented here, but not always knowing what the work was. This is your chance to catch up with all the great classical music you have been exposed to. Cheap too.
