Nick Lachey

This album has to be his best work ever. Unfortunately the inspiration behind it was a painful divorce but Nick lets it all out in this album. There is a perfect balance of slow thoughtful and then more mid tempo angry angsty songs which demonstrate how much emotional turmoil he went through.

It is great to see nick move away from boring ballads to angst and passionate songs.

Hopefully for him, this was not a fluke and he can do it again on the next album.

this whole cd nick lets out how he feels after his painful divorce we had to endure your cheap hollywood marriage your lame reality show your sonny and cher revival so called variety show which I'm glad did'nt last too long then the divorce, now this spare us nick. and I pass this on by this is depressing.

Let me be the first to say that I've never liked "Pop" music and I have never purchased a 98 degrees CD. But, this CD is really serious. I really like it. I never thought I would. Now let me say that I don't think this CD is listenable in all moods and situations. But, I don't think versatility was Nick's intention with this album. But, I just went through a breakup and this CD grabbed me like nothing else. The album is talking about a sad subjects, but he delivers these songs very well and the lyrics are very poignant and I can definitely relate to it in a lot of ways. All the songs are listenable and that is an accomplishement in itself. Some think that it's overrated, but I think one listen will change your perception of what Nick is capable of. He should be proud of this album. Nice job man!!

I purchased my 2nd copy of SoulO in July 2006 and a 3rd one with the bonus tracks in September 2006. So this review will be for both purchases.

You may say I'm a true nickfanatic for spending the amount of money being asked. But, I must say the bonus tracks are great; actually all the songs are great IMO. I feel that at the time this album was first released the public was not ready to embrace a so-called boybander as a solo artist. In addition, his record label did not give it enough promotion. This album did not get a second chance, however now that Nick Lachey has successfully released a 2nd solo album with a new record label, I believe that people who did not know about him then will take interest now and purchase his first solo album.

This I Swear is the song that made me search for his cd a few months after its first release. I fell in love with his soulful voice the first time I heard this song from his reality show, "The Newly Weds". Because of the lack of promotion, many people including myself were not made aware of Nick from the group called 98 Degrees was turning solo. Newly Weds truly gave Nick the exposure he needed at the time. Although unsuccessful at first he is now getting the recognition he deserves. I also believe that getting detached from the Simpson clan helped his solo career and his current happier and much better personal life.

My favorite songs are This I Swear, You're The Only Place, I Fall In Love Again, Open Your Eyes, On And On, and Think I'm Losing You. The album is a mix of ballads and upbeat songs. Nick excels in the ballad part and it is refreshing to hear him sing upbeat tempo songs that bring out a bit of his versatility. All in all, it is a great effort on Nick's part of a first solo attempt that did not get the attention it deserved.

This album is a must buy for nickfanatics like myself and collectors.

I love this CD. Worth buying it, most the songs are great. Catchy, some ballads...he can really sing.

i love all of nick's albums/songs, they're great!! if SOME people knew how to listen to music, listen to what he's trying to SAY. as in "This I Swear" that's a sweet song. well, i don't care what all you other people think but nick lachey is the greatest and the best. ♥♥

this cd was great. what i like most about this cd is that both of the songs are slow . i have always liked "This I Swear"ever since the first time i heard it. "on and On" is also good. i recommend that you buy this cd, because it is worth it.these are two of the best songs on Nick Lachey's album "Soul0". I wouldn't have bought the cd if hadn't listened to the song sample. this cd deserves more than 5 stars.

Very nice mix of styles for Christmas: classic Christmas sound from Nat King Cole (The Christmas Song) and Andy Williams (...Most Wonderful Time, Pop from Nick Lachey (O Come Emanuel) and Alicia Keys (Little Drummer Girl), Country from Lindsay Jordan (Jolly Old St Nicholas), Rock from the Trans-Siberian Orchestra (Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24), Blues from Jesse Thomas (Merry Christmas), and Big Band from Maxwell/Mosher (Auld Lang Syne). Overall, a good sampling of different Christmas styles...a perfect mix Holiday disc.

First off, I just want to say that I LOVE the String Quartet Tribute series... I recently discovered these CDs while planning my wedding and am so glad that I did. It's so nice to be able to incorporate modern music into the ceremony without having to worry about the "appropriateness" of the vocals. In addition to the tribute to Jessica Simpson, I also have the String Quartet Tribute to Coldplay. I'm completely satisfied with them both. Granted, I'm by no means a musician, but I do have the ability to appreciate great music. And I feel that these CDs are definitely worth looking into. :)

The songs on this particular album are great - in my opinon, anyway. I especially want to remark on the CD's version of "Take My Breath Away" - absolutely beautiful. I had been looking for an instrumental version of this piece to walk down the aisle to and found exactly what I was looking for on this CD. :)

This is a import but I boulght it anyways. Only reason i did was because i do love this i swear and i do love the newly weds. i figgad i would need the extry tracks because his voice is usually so good to hear it. i reckon she did break his heart though. could be worse i guess. i don't like jessie's sister eileen eitha.

I bought this CD yesterday and was surprised by the variety of tracks. I was never into 98degrees, but bought this after I heard his single on Newlyweds. Great mix of guitar-based tracks, r&b, ballads, dance... you name it, and all on one album! Cool stuff. Jessica must've had a good influence. Buy it, no regrets here.

Leaving a group behind to venture out on your own is sometimes risky. With Nick stepping out of the "boy band" shadow to do his own thing, he has made the transition very well worth the risk. Proving that he has the goods to do it on his own, he sort of makes you think 98-who? I hope two things: one, that everyone can give "Soulo" a fair listen before saying negative things about it and two, that just because Nick was once part of a 'boy group' that his awesome talent isn't automatically discredited. "Soulo" is an awesome solid solo effort that deserves ample airplay and ample time in the spotlight. Here's a run down of the tracks:

1)Shut Up: the version here is much better that the cd promo. More edgier sounding. 5 out of 5
2)Let's Go: one of those songs you would cruise down the freeway to. 4 1/2
3)This I Swear: a slow jam, Nick's strongest asset. 4 1/2

5)Carry On: love the intro and outro with the instruments! a departure from the 98 Degrees sound. a feel good song. 4 1/2

7)Can't Stop Loving You: up-tempo, in-your-face song. 4
8)Edge Of Eternity: very Richard Marx sounding, not bad. 3 1/2
9)It's Alright: another favorite! very cool and full of attitude! 5
10)I Fall In Love Again: a great ballad for that special someone. 4 1/2
11)Open Your Eyes: another safe ballad. 4
12)On And On: a piano-only ballad that is awesome and full of emotion. one of my faves. 5
13)Think I'm Losing You (bonus track): another safe slow song. 4

Listen everybody, is no secret that this song is dedicated to the fuss that the gossip media created around Nick & Jessica's relationship, it's not the first and not the last Nick will do, it must be said although the song lyrics are predictible Mr. Lachey was smart enough to capitalize on his hurt inside & focus on an heartbreak anthem. It's funny that this import single does not offer any dance remix that has been goin' around in the dance radio's or gay clubs (where Mr. Lachey founds a large group of fans of his music and other things). ahhhhhhhhhhh please somebody console him!, I think this smarty pants has a bigger hit in his hands than sleeky Jessica's Public Affair...cos u know all the girls go out on a public affair oh oh oh!
