A disappointment. I looked forward to this CD because within the movie, the music combined with the images to evoke a post-Civil War American West that was both beautiful and stark (the movie, by the way, was beautiful, breathtaking and compelling, an amazing feat of movie-making). Without the cinematography, however, the music is thin and wan. This is an example of how music can work together with cinematography to create a beautiful whole, but without the movie to support it, it often can't hold up on its own.

With or without having seen the movie, this soundtrack stands on its own. Deep, intense, moody, oddly uplifting. If you've seen the movie, your listening experience can only be enhanced. If you haven't, you'll surely want to. "Rather Lovely Thing," "Another Rather Lovely Thing," and "What Happens Next" are my favorite tracks, but each cut has the power to draw you in and hold you there until the next arrives. Buy it. You won't regret it.

Such a beautiful, haunting, touching score. Strangely enough it doesn't really remind me of the movie, which isn't a bad thing. These compositions stand on their own. I have this on high rotation.

This film was outstanding in every way. Great acting, direction; breathtaking cinematography and a wonderful score. it de-mythologized the Jesse James' legend and found it to be a very accurate depiction. It is a shame the distributors here in the NYC Metro area did not give it a good run when it first came out.

Well this is probably Nick Warren's worst work. It is a dull and trite mix of electronic beats. Just 2 moments are rememberable, both in CD1- The opening 2 minutes that gets your hopes up real high, and the track where you hear the girl laughing.
There is another superstar album out though, Sasha's Invol2ver (Involver 2). That is epic.

I was not focused on picking up this thing until Christmas until Global Underground offered me a deal. I didn't expect to listen to it in the first place, however, very impressed! Less ambience than Paris and a lot more down to Earth progressive house happening. Nick has not been this progressive since his releases of Brazil and Amsterdam. The first CD has a little bit of that windy sound in it with its rythme and stays consistent and has a solid tempo having instrumentation that grabs you into the disc that keeps the progressive house adventure going with your mind at ease. What keeps the mind at ease is the sound of the music aside from just the beat. The progressive sound.

Not good enough, try the 2nd disc. Mostly this reminds me of when Nick did Global Underground Amterdam because he starts off where he left off from the first disc and takes off toward the end go give you energy to want to dance to it. It's not a bad compilation.It's missing some vocal tracks badly,as there is just one that stands out.I like the minimal sound he chose for this set,a bit more melodic,not so noisy.Both CD's are equal to me except CD2 seems more epic.It's not something I'd use first at a party,but it ranks up there.

Some say Rekjavyk was the best GU from Nick, but this one is just another level. I had a great time at the party here in Lima and hearing the album just makes it sound a bit different.
Progressive at its best with Mr Warren.

I wasn't sure what to expect. I know the cover art is a little cheesy. But the recording is fantastic. I think great pains were taken to make this as true to Hermann's original score as possible. It's clean, dynamic and really show how much contemporary film scoring was influenced by Bernard Hermann. And the thereminist on this is really first rate.
If you liked the original movie, are into film scoring or a theremin fan, this CD is highly recommended.

Listening to this soundtrack recreates a haunting story wherein a visitor with an important message was spurned-- to our dismay. Turn it up!

but I like it as well if not better. This is Bernard Hermann's original score performed by orchestra (including Theremin) at Abbey Road Studios in 2002. The attention to detail and consideration of original arrangement is exemplary. As a long time fan of this film classic (and if you haven't seen it, find it ! After 58 years, it still speaks volumes of the human condition and futile politics) I've heard the original soundtrack within the film many times. This is different, of course, but excellent within its own right. If you wish to study the Theremin exquisitly used in an orchestral environment, this is the score and one the best recordings I've heard. Hermann's composition is simply classic of the genre.

being a huge fan of the movie and having the original soundtrack already I decided to give this re-recording a listen as it had extra tracks, well I was pleasantly suprised by how joel mcneely had reproduced the sounds and style of herrmanns original soundtrack,
with it obviously being in stereo it gives you that extra depth and feel to the movie,
well done mr mcneely your a credit to the industry.

I love the movie, so I'm a bit biased concerning the soundtrack. I also love Nick Cave, so again, I'm not to be entirely trusted. Still, Warren Ellis and Cave have created another character for this incredible film with the soundtrack. The music is integral to the success of the film; I cannot imagine the movie without hearing the noises Ellis and Cave created. The music crawls and oozes, sinks and stirs. I recommend it highly. Watch the film, buy the music.

I bought this disk because I couldn't find a single mp3 of "Happy Land". The rest of the songs on the disk sounded great in the context of the movie, but not so great on their own.

What's great about this soundtrack is the uniqueness. Wait a sec. I know, now-a-days thats hard to come by, in fact its almost nil. The soundtrack to the Proposition has odd tempos, haunting vocals, and whispering voices. All of this compliments the great film that you are seeing on screen. If I could compare the style of this soundtrack to another, if I may, I would say that its similar in grain to the Carnivale soundtrack. If you are a writer, and need some inspiration of the dark mooded, atmospheric variety, then this is for you. The opening theme is uplifting and sad, kicking of an edge of ghostliness. This is a great soundtrack. I recommend that you listen to the samples above to determine if it's up your alley, because a writer needs "correct" inspiration, depending on the mood of their setting. Personally, I love it.

The missing song on the CD (unfortunately it is missing) is the Irish traditional song Peggy Gordon. I guess the CD wanted to emphasize Nick Cave's music only. When the DVD comes out, I highly recommend this picture, which although quite brutally graphic at times, has brilliant cinematography throughout. The film left me feeling that I had just seen a series of images any of which would be suitable as a still life or landscape. Breathtaking!!!!!!

My brother's partner leant me a copy of this CD about two months ago before I bothered to even find out who this Nick Cave was or what the heck was this movie called The Proposition all about. Funny thing was, as I listened to this soundtrack again and again in my car I kept thinking, what a great work of music and how I would like to have something like that in my own movie someday. Several days later, I did the research and found out that it was a movie soundtrack. It is the kind of the music that enhances the emotions that a person empathizes with when watching another human being endure sadness and tribulation. It is the link between the character depicted on the screen with the viewer's own similarities and familiarities. It is that necessary element that really enhances a movie and leaves the viewer with that sigh, yes, that one slightly-heavier-sigh we all exhale upon the conclusion of a really fantastic movie. What one finds when they "relate" to the character on the screen. Is that not what the genius of good movie score is supposed to do? This soundtrack does just that. The music is not overly "actiony" in the sense of a standard Hollywood action film. Nor is it stylisticly formulistic like John Williams' music. No, this music is somehow present without it being noticed. After viewing the film at a private screening, I can only attest to its strength as one of this year's top rated scores. It is, to a large degree, based on the same repetitive motif and melody, but for some reason this works. The score listened to by itself may strike the listener as, haven't I heard this before, but viewed when overlapped with the film it all makes congruent sense. If you, the reader, found music that accompanied such movies as Traffic, Solaris, American Beauty and others enjoyable (not specifically restricted to only Cliff Rodriguez' music, though) then you will likely find the score for The Proposition on equal, award-winning footing. Beautiful. Uplifting. Simple. Clean and straight to the point, musically speaking. Kind of like oh, I dunno, the way honest music ought to be written?

Progressive at its best with Mr Warren.

As a musician, I first ran into this disk as a PBS broadcast. What caught my ear was that every song in the concert has "the groove." Other than a children's choral cut, not a single song in the entire collection has a flaw. You'd think the Spice Girls would be a silly addition to the concert, but they do a tremendous job. Each artist appears twice, usually with Pavaotti in one of their songs, sometimes twice. Vanessa Williams is Hot! and does an incredible dance number. The engineering is excellent, with solid side-to-side separation for a really "big" sound. All in all, this is one of the favorite CDs in my music library.

We first saw Pavarotti and Friends on Public Television as a fundraising event. We found the CD and especially love to listen to this CD in our car which has a great sound system. Each vocalist is so special and you will be singing along with them after a couple of plays!

Easily the best in the Pavarotti & Friends series. Always an artist on the cutting edge, with this album, Pavarotti's work will have great appeal to his fans and to scores of new enthusiasts. His duets with the Spice Girls, Vanessa Williams, Zucchero, and Stevie Wonder make it obvious that his voice has adaptability and a passion that takes it into many musical genres with ease. This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. Sting once commented that great music occurs in the "synaptic gaps" where many different styles come together - this is an album that epitomizes the concept. Neopolitan music is a folk music in Italy, with overtones of American folk/country/jazz/rock, and Pavarotti is the Neopolitan master. This is a perfect fit of artists and selected titles. Earlier combinations of artists in this series were often much too somber, much less fun. Give this one to your teens or your great grandmother ... they'll find they have more musical tastes in common than they'd have ever imagined.

First Cd was trippy/ spacey not bad...I was diappointed on the second cd I expected him to pull out some good beats but..it came up short..

The end of 2002 saw Nick Warren change "DJ gears". His record collection started to fill with many more progressive trance and progressive house tracks while his predominantly techno albums from the previous four years finally began to gather dust.

Why the change? Age? Tired of the glowstick scene? Unknown, but I think I speak for most of Nick Warren's massive fan base in saying...Thank god!

Global Underground 024: Reykjavik marks the zenith of Warren's genre change. I had abandoned collecting Nick Warren's compilations in the early 2000's since I've never been a fan of techno.

While perusing an HMV music store in Leeds, England, I came upon this album. On a whim and by recognition of a few great tracks listed on the rear cover, I decided to buy it. I don't think I can remember being more pleased with a random purchase of music in my life. When I first popped in disc 1 on my drive home, I was expecting...well I don't know what I was expecting but it was not these sweet tracks!

Disc 1 is definitely the milder of the two discs. If it were not for the last three tracks, I would probably list disc 1 as my favorite. However at track ten, disc 1 severely loses its brilliance. My opinion of course. Three more tracks to continue with the haunting theme set out by the previous nine would have made for one of the most flawless mixes to date.

Disc 2 is near perfect. Track selection and layout is amazing. The lack of techno puts a smile on my face.

Disc 1 gets 4/5 stars (5/5 minus track 10 to 12) and disc 2 5/5 stars.

Nick Warren continues to evolve as a DJ today. I think GU024 really solidified his brilliance and adaptability as the greatest DJ mixing today. If you ever hear this guy live or even live on radio...you will always noticed that the hosts (ie John Digweed from Kiss FM in London) will comment on Warren's record collection and his unmatched ability to find tracks or mix tracks that have most other DJ's scrambling to find after listening to his set.

This is a long review and I hope it is worth your time. Happy new year by the way.
Quick review (if you don't want to waste your time): It is an anomaly of a comp; full of beautiful, strange and intelligent records, records that make you think without knowing to. (End of quick review)
It has been a while since I've actually listened to this compilation from start to finish. This review is somewhat retrospective in that I am at present a die hard Nick Warren fan owning his albums with Jodi, his earlier mixes and his last GU pass, Shanghai. Shanghai is more melodic, enthusiastic, and accessible. That said, although Shanghai will give this comp a run for its money it has to be said that this is probably the classiest, mind boggling, head scratching, jaw slacking GU to date and the first I have seen to rival Sasha's Ibiza.

Why? Simple. It is different. Indeed, it is too different. There are times when this compilation falls flat on its own ambitious momentum (it is at this point your finger starts tapping the skip button) Even so, the tracks I don't appreciate (probably because of my own inexperience) I feel on some level I understand. This GU's brilliance also relies on luck. Most prog DJ sets try unconsciously or otherwise to capture the spirit of the location. Sasha's now legendary Ibiza was mind numbingly danceable, sweaty and sunny but slyly subliminal (at least on the first disc) Digweed's LA was boring, Seaman's capetown was tribalistic without being bombastic. Sasha's SF came pretty damn close to capturing what it is like to be drunk on booze you somehow managed not to pay a single penny for and to be warm and happy and ecstatically playful with your mates at a major club in SF. Even Oaky's New York 007 ( very old so not very popular), had that sleek you don't know this but it will still f**k you up feel to it which pretty much sums up anything "new" and innovative in New York. This Comp actually succeeded. It has more to do with the mixing style, the application of pads and a thousand over tiny things we never notice until we really like a track and we go back to it over and over. From the cold isolating Dub in Time by Avatar to the gorgeous encompassing beauty of the atlas track to the pedantic crescendo of Ulrich's classic to Board's of Canada's earlier stuff this comp, when it finally gets you will blow you off your feet. It is that good. It was through this comp that I found Sacred Machine by Baby ford and the Ifach Collective and had me paying more attention to Holden and Adam Spears, as well as the genius subsky. I am not kidding you or trying to be tedious. Whether you buy it or not, or it simply is not your style and do not agree that this is one of the only four GUs that truly transport you to the location it claims is up to you. It does not matter whether you hat it and find it boring. You will still have to admit that there is at least one mind numbing track and it is this track that will keep you going back to it until eventually you are at your computer at 2 am in the morning, trying unconsciously or not to express gratitude to someone who is simply doing what he truly loves.

I want to begin by saying that this is one of those priceless GU sets where one cannot help but make the assumption that the music was entirely influenced by the setting in which it was performed. The music feels like it belongs in the hauntingly lush gray-blue backdrop of Reykjavik, Iceland. The music is as unique as the locale, and that speaks very well of this set and of Nick Warren.

That being said, there is no other GU quite like this. Though several Global Underground releases deviate from the norm of progressive trance and progressive house - examples including Emerson's Uruguay, Lavelle's Barcelona and Sharam's Dubai - it feels innapropriate to include Warren's GU024 amongst the other deviations; this is, by all means, progressive trance music, and in that light, fits well with the series. What makes it so unique is that there are very few discernable peaks (and yet the album never gets boring or repetitive) and the album is so "dreamy". And not in that shimmering, magical sense like Warren's Shanghai release; no, this set has a spiritual, dubby and meditative flow to it. It is not about the traditional slow build-up, peak, a couple afterglow songs, on to the next disc. This is a linear landscape of sound that flows as consistently and fluidly as water in a stream, with every bit as much beauty.

Disc 1 is, without question, the more out there of the two; it is also my favorite. This IS dance music - but more to the point of upclose and sensual body movement than bouncing around on a dancefloor chanting anthem lyrics and waving your arms in the air. Disc 1 is also perfect for creating a lounge-ish environment, similar to Kruder & Dorfmeister or Thievery Corporation at times. I tried using this disc to induce sleep one restless night, but was so involved in the intricate beats that I wound up listening to the whole album and falling asleep to the sound of rain instead.

Disc 2 has the same feel to it, but it is also fundamentally different. It flows, it is dreamy, but it has more of an upbeat dancefloor vibe to it. For a GU release, this would be typical, and in a way it is; the only difference (and an important one at that), however, is the fact that Warren is still concentrating most of his heart and soul on the 'music behind the beat'. Which essentially sums this album's driving purpose up. I feel that, however much raising the bpm on the second discs of these 2-disc releases makes the second disc more favorable, in most cases it is also somewhat disapointingly predictable. It is for this reason that Warren's focus on the *music* in conjunction with the beat stands its ground so well; completely coherent, yet oozing with pleasure and unpredictability.

However thrilled I am that he decided to extend his Global Underground catalogue by one more, this would have indeed been a fitting and triumphant close to perhaps the Global Underground series' most successful participant DJ.
Five stars. I didn't have to think about it.

GU024:Reyjavik is perhaps the best GU release of all time. This piece, which was supposed to be Nick Warren's last before retiring from GU to focus on Way Out West, is one of the most unique albums.

CD1 starts with slow ambient pieces by Avatar and Substructure and electronic pieces by Atlas and Ulrich Schnauss. A short (!) mix of Happy Cycling by Boards Of Canada speeds things up. Tracks by Yunx and Planet Funk add a funky groove. Helga Moller starts the breaks and we end with Love Lost, a spaced out acid trip.

CD2 starts off with Tocharian's awakening and Aural Imbalance's 12-minute (!!!) long Aural Navigation Part 2. Vector's Rise brings a hit of old British techno, whilst Aquaculture and Dream Traveller pound out relentless trance. Then the clincher: Crayons by Starkid (RIP 1985-2004), a beautiful progressive house track. The mix ends with beat piece 'Last Minute Flight'.

These CD's are expensive but they are worth it. BUY IT!!!

the DJs both guy and gal who meld together sets like this you can be sure have usually been doing doing it at least ten years and probably first got into it when they were still teenagers; at this point in their careers they forge sets that have some SERIOUS power to affect people who haven't heard it before - so don't be surprised if you find yourself in that category. yeah, i must confess i feel i can praise this set so blithely. if a set fails to do what this does - to visit dissimilar aspects of house, opposite ends of the groove's emotional spectrum, can it really be house? moodiness, exhiliration; a shadowy, urbane sense of self-observation - it's all here, and what's more it all flows continuously, which is very important to certain people. it's important to me as well but also - and more importantly - you should know, stuff like this is the best music anyone in our time ever danced to. i know that's a rather broad claim.

i really like the spoken-word samples like this, and the sense of profundity (as well as of expanding musical horizons) they bring to the mix.

Each and every track on both CDs is good. This is my favourite music compilation ever.

It's hard to write anything that hasn't been written earlier. CD2 changes gears and explodes beyond 56:30 into a relentless mix of the most amazing music that I've ever heard, to end in a fantastic, emotional end. If you understand and enjoy progressive electronic music, this is the holy grail.

To be frank, I find Global Underground to be a most conceited and over-rated series. Nearly every installment gets massive publicity, good reviews by majority, and probably flies off the shelves upon initial release. I myself own upwards of a dozen GU albums, ranging from Sasha to Digweed to Deep Dish to Danny Howells to Nick Warren to James Lavelle, and the other day I had an epiphany: I only listen to the Warren mixes.

Budapest is hard and in your face. Amsterdam, dreamy and smooth. Reykjavik was mellow and downbeat, with a half-cup of chill, and two teaspoons of surrealistic melody lightly sauteed with a pinch of funk. Original and unbalanced, it's a great listen. Shanghai, however, is better. Much better. Shanghai is f-ing fantastic. DJ Esau's "Fat Cat" sets the tone instantly, and remarkably, Warren manages to include a diverse array of sounds while remaining true to that first taste. It's upbeat, classy, and light on its feet without being oppressive and predictable. There are of course highs and lows throughout the album, but compared to every other GU, and even his previous work, Warren's latest is remarkbly controlled and balanced throughout. Like a forced-induction automobile engine, Warren hits his sonic plateau and keeps it level from then on out, offering you something superb no matter where you are on the album. It's brilliant.

I don't claim to be the definitive word on electronic music, and can only really state my opinion. But hundreds of dollars in albums later, the only ones I play repeatedly, the only ones that continue to excite me with each listen, and the only ones I actually recommend to friends and family who don't listen to electronic music, are those by Briton Nick Warren. Can't wait to hear Paris.

I saw Nick Warren play a live set at a dreary club called Axis and Radius in Scottsdale, Arizona a few months back. The electronica scene in Arizona is horrible, but it was so great to listen to a true master at work for a change. By the end of the night, he was so hammered from all the free drinks that the management were hitting him with. However, no matter how intoxicated he got...he still was flawless. I can't say enough about this guy's talent and electronica collection.

What does this album's review have to do with Nick Warren's random set that night? Well nothing really, but to drive home a point. The guy is amazing even when he doesn't try to bring the house down. Global Underground 028:Shanghai is a product of Nick Warren when he is sober, concentrating, and putting in his full effort and talent. A scary thought.

This 2 disc set is enjoyable when listening to any particular track solely, but the brilliance of his musical journey comes through when the entire set is listened to from track 1 of disc 1 to the final track on disc 2. With most Global Underground compilations, I usually favor one disc heavily over the other, but I love both of these discs.

Global Underground 028:Shanghai is not a pure progressive trance album. Many other reviewers seem to think everything is progressive trance or progressive house. Sorry, but they are wrong. The selected tracks encompass indie-rock influenced vocal tracks to sweetly melodic deep house to raging acid. This variety of electronica genres is part of this compilation's charm and Nick Warren's secret for being the most dynamic DJ of all time.

Disc 1 gets 5/5 stars. Disc 2, 4.5/5 stars.

And it really couldn't have come at any better a time for the Global Underground series & label, because a lot of people were disheartened with Moscow, Barcelona & Romania, Singapore and Miami. Some even disliked Los Angeles and Toronto. I am not expressing my opinions in this review regarding any of the aforementioned albums, only stating the impressions I have gotten from the trance/house community in general.

Now, enter: Old Faithful. Nick Warren is an amazing musical alchemist, and has been given apt opportunity to display this quality on his Prague, Brazil, Budapest, Amsterdam and Reykjavik releases. Some claim the GU market is becoming saturated with Warren mixes, that the Warren Well has been tapped dry; I sympathize, to some extent, with these remarks - I think his Paris release should be what Reykjavik was supposed to be; his last, as far as GU is concerned. GU seems to fall back on his brilliance and stability too often in order to promote their series. I would like to see Warren expand and do some other projects outside of W.O.W. and Back to Mine. Anyway, on to Shanghai.

This is a mix that I am especially grateful to own. From the start, Warren establishes a superbly atmospheric consistency; on Reykjavik, for example, this atmosphere was "bubbly chilled out dub, but tranced over". On this release, there seems to be a "polished, glistening and magical touch" to the songs as they cycle through. The only track I will bother to mention specifically (because they are all great selections, and naming every high point of this mix would be arduous indeed) is the very first track on the first CD, SJ Esau's "Fat Cat". Hands down, the best opening track of any GU I've ever heard. Listen to it. It sets the tone for the following twenty-two tracks.

Not surprisingly, the subtlety with which Warren makes his transitions is almost astonishing from hypnotic valley to pulsating peak and back again. One minute, you'll find yourself gazing complacently, completely caught up in some devious backdrop harmonic line. The next minute, you'll find your leg involuntarily bounching up and down as you've hit a musical crest without even realizing it. Truly amazing.

I think with each Global Underground release, Nick Warren has become more and more polished. Prague and Budapest seem rudimentary when compared to Reykjavik and Shanghai in terms of production and track selection - and that's saying a lot. Shanghai is a very logical (if completely different, atmospherically) progression from the ethereal smoothness of Reykjavik; it sort of reminds me of Digweed's Hong Kong in this regard: Both albums can be considered both relatively chilled out and at once hard-hitting without running into a rut along the way. Both are just *polished* pieces of art. For the avid progressive trance fanatic, dismayed with recent releases or not, Shanghai is your breath of fresh air. Enjoy it, in all its magical sweetness.

This is, in my mind, one of the few essential Global Underground Series releases to date.

Warren is a Consistently solid DJ who has always stuck to a style of trance that is deep, thoughtful, energizing and a little bit off the beaten path. His mixes are consistently top of the line and even when he dives and uses IDM or other electronica styles, the CDs always come out sounding great.

This is a two CD mix that carries a dark type of energy. Each track here is truly superb and carries a ton of raw energy. Warrens planning and mixing is solid ultimately giving you a mix of very classic tracks that feels timeless. Its raw, aggressive and passionate mixing like this that will keep you listening to both of the discs for many years.

Global Underground 011: Budapest is Nick Warren's third release for the series. I am not a big fan of Warren's first four GU releases, but out of the quartet, this is definitely my favorite. Most of this has to do with track selection. Hard techno is one of my least favorite electronica genres (i.e. like all the tracks found on both discs of GU008:Brazil).

This album is definitely on the racier and harder side. No question. However, the tracks have much more depth to them than the majority of the tracks featured on the other 3 albums. More trance and progressive trance rifts help to break up the monotoney nicely.

I heavily favor Warren's later releases, but I will still listen to this one once in awhile.

Both discs get 4/5 stars.

Very good trance CD. What makes it stand out is the consistency of the quality of the tracks, which is amazing. The drawback being there is no one track that stands out, but on the other hand they're all pretty good.

One thing I must say though -- Never, ever, EVER sample porn soundtracks. "I Want You" on the second disk is by FAR the worst trance track ever. EVER.

Wow, this cd sure does have a lot of great ratings. You might go hmmm i wonder why. maybe i'll get that album. Not a bad choice because it is great, although..... this cd is very face paced, and a little repetetive. it does not go on any particular journey into deep trance, which maybe it wasn't trying to, maybe it was just trying to be fast hard beats. Now im not trying to critisize this album because it is great, but if you do buy it you may get bored because you'll want it to go deeper. You just know that Nick Warren can produce something more mind boggling than this. It's okay though. There is no cheese involved here and you may love it, but instead of buying it, if you can borrow it or download it, then you might see what it's like and not waste money if you don't like it.

I'm not usually one to review CDs, but I felt that putting a blurb about this one would be worthwhile... As a owner of well over 200 electronic music CDs (and having heard plenty more that I feel aren't worth owning), this compilation is clearly one of the best in my collection.

I was recently doing some yearly collection cleaning, and when I popped both of these discs in, I was truly blown away. This stuff is approaching 4 years in age now, and it still absolutely slams by todays standards. Both discs just offer up great track after great track, and keep going. You will not regret getting your hands on this one...

One star cause it doesn't have the songs I'm looking for, great movie though. thanks to those you posted where the club scene songs can be found, but where can we get the actual mix that was played while Naturelle and Marie were dancing? That is not on the CDs mentioned below....

Someone stated in an earlier review that the Cymande 'Bra' version (mix) for the bathroom scene was is on a DJ mix CD called "Danny Krivit - Edits by Mr. K, The Original Rare Disco Mixes." DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY LIKE I DID. THAT IS NOT THE CORRECT ONE. I will now go and see if the grand master flash version is correct.

Well, All these tracks are by Cymande (pronounced sah-mahn-day)

This music has been remastered and just recently released on an album called - Renegades of Funk. This album is completely remastered and has some unreleased bonus tracks. Finally an album is available that does this great band justice. It also has some great photos of the fusion funk, jazz, soul and reggae breakbeat band from the early seventies. Enjoy.
