I just got this & can't stop listening.
My favorite Day of the Eagle & Lady Love
are just killers & any rock fan should
have in collection. Bridge of Sighs is
brilliant & Little Bit of Sympathy are
classics. The singer is just fantastic.
His vocals is like Paul Rodgers but some
deep groovy sound that just kills. One of
the most best singers of the 70's. The
bonus tracks like Aletha are great too.
If you like trio hard rock this is for you.

just to say , ive been so tired of detractors claiming robin is a mere hendrix clone, this lp and the vast array of his lps tapes and online videos show a tremendous artist with incredible talent . I really dig fool and me on this lp . Its so good you can just flip the vinyl and keep playing it over and over. HoPefully, he can continue to jam, a living legacy of the best of rock and roll

Robin Trower is a man who really understood music. Formally in Procol Harum which was known for its classical influences, and its helping hand in establishing what would be known as progressive rock. After joining a short lived super group (Jude), Trower finally released a solo album "Twice Removed From Yesterday" in 1973. Now we advance a year further and "Bridge of Sighs" is finally released.

Bridge of Sighs opens with "Day of The Eagle", a track that's fiery and definitely Hendrix influenced. While similar guitar wise with the bluesy funky chords, one can notice strong vocal differences. The actual track "Bridge of Sighs" opens with a jingly sound leading to a warm euphoric guitar. So calming and memorable of a track. "In This Place" is just as dreamy, but with more complex guitar. Bits of the vocal melody remind me of Black Sabbath's "Planet Caravan" from their 1970 hit album "Paranoid".

The album swings back into gear with the rocking "The Fool and Me". "Too Rolling Stoned" just grooves from the dry drum and tight single coil strat sounding intro, to the later wah licks. The song is long and fairly progressive. I swear I hear ambient voices in the last minute of the song, could never really decipher it. The guitar tone is just astounding, and how the bends and vibratos sound, this album really speaks.

Robin Trower-Bridge of Sighs, a must buy. Bluesy and rocking, an album with strong variety. Slow progressing tunes and rocking gems, an album that can't be forgotten once herd.

I have always liked this CD.....but only had it on cassette tape. The CD format is much better, it includes extra outtake of some of the songs.

If you're a fan of 70's guitar-driven rock, you must have this album in your collection. "Day of the Eagle", Little Bit of Sympathy" & "Too Rolling Stoned" are standards of the genre. I'm typically either disappointed or enthralled by Trower's work, but this album goes beyond that. This is one of those iconic rock LP's like Dark Side Of The Moon, Black Sabbath, Tres Hombres or Who's Next that every classic rock fan must have. And the Bonus tracks are just that: "BONUS!"

An incredible recording from 3 rock veterans. A great collection of well written, well played tunes from experienced musicians who each have an amazing touch. It's rare to see the muse shine on musicians who have nothing to prove; but this is the work of great inspiration.
2008 harvest was low on essential recordings; buy this one, it's one them.
Who said old guys could not rock!

Don't listen to the jerks who only gave this gem 1 star. Sometimes I do not understand what people want, you have two of the very best at their craft getting together here and they make a fine album. Not a weak song on it.
Like I said ignore the negative comments, if you like either one of these guys you will like this album.

Look, Bruce and Trower are classic examples of 70's Rock gods that have survived not only the 70's lifestyle of a rocker, but are still up to the task of making great rock in the year two thousand and frickin' seven! Put away your silly presuppositions about former collaborations these guys have done; forget about the youthful purity of Bruce's voice that you remember from "Harmony Row" etc.; don't dampen your appreciation for this cd by hollow expectations based on the unrealistic. This is a GREAT cd that deserves to be listened to in its entirety, standing on its own merits, until it soaks into your bones. And it will.

Bruce sings with soul, and plays with dexterity, dancing all over the fretboard and frequently using chords to balance the unusual tone and style of Trower's guitar. The lyrics are psychedelic-y enough to sound like a Bruce solo cd, but the guitar-bass-drums format sounds more like a West Bruce Laing album. Robin Trower has always had a strong blues flavor to his music, and he bleeds it nicely on several tracks here. By the way, the drummer here (Gary Husband) is NO slouch. Great melodies and grooves abound!

This is a very worthy cd, folks, and a real nice way to reprise their work from 30 years prior. Get it. You deserve it.
(And if your name happens to include the word "moon", rush right out and buy this! ;-)

This is just great rock music from two guys who know how to do it right! The blend of Bruce & Trower is excellent. It's like opening a time capsule and hearing some long forgotten, never released gem, except that it's not dated or jaded: It's fresh, new heavy music from two rock veterans with knowledge & chops to go with the balls.

I highly recommend this CD to anyone who likes good honest rock music with great musicianship. If you loved West, Bruce & Laing, BBM, and the more rock side of Jack Bruce's various incarnations (including Cream), don't pass on this one. I'm sure Trower fans tire of the Hendrix comparisons, but imagine Jimi & Jack together today and you're close.

Just to be clear: I am a big Jack Bruce fan, he is probably my favourite musical artist, and his playing with Cream inspired me to take up the electric bass at a very young age. In my opinion "Harmony Row" was one of the best albums recorded by anybody.

I seem to be in the minority here, but of the Bruce/ Trower collaborations, this one sounds to me to be the weakest of the three, the BLT album being the best. I've listened to this CD several times, each time searching desperately for something to recommend it, but I'm still unable to come up with much of anything.

My main complaint is Jack's bass playing. I find myself constantly checking the CD cover to confirm that Jack is indeed playing bass on this CD because, in my opinion, the bass parts could have been played by any competent bassist. Where, I keep asking myself, is the distinctive phrasing and technique that separates Jack's playing from every other bass player's? It is certainly not in evidence here.

Secondly, the songs themselves leave much to be desired and they are delivered with a striking lethargy, especially when compared to the "BLT" album. That album has all the fire, funk, energy and distinctive playing (from Trower as well) that "Seven Moons" lacks.

Being the Bruce fan that I am I had to have this CD, but I'm sorry to say that it will probably sit on my shelf and gather dust from now on since there is nothing about it that compels me to give it another listen. Obviously there are others here who disagree, and I respect their opinions, but for me this CD was a great disappointment.

Unlike many live albums from the 70's this sounds nice neat rehearsed and even the extremely long improvised sections sound tight, crisp and well - produced. Many live albums from this era sounded sloppy and unrehearsed as if they threw together a live album just because they didn't have any new material to release. This along with Mahogany Rush Live is one of the great unheralded classic live albums from this era.

Robin Trower's albums reflect two things: great band but the singer Jimmy Dewar is VERY one dimensional and this gives that SAMENESS that plagued all their records and eventually destroyed them in the end. Instrumentally, the band is terrific - if you listen to them when Jimmy is NOT singing, well, it's fantastic. But - I don't know what it is - but he has this "voice wrapped in cotton" sound that never varies. Mick Jagger, Robert Plant, Steve Tyler,Sting, Jimi Hendrix, even Eric Clapton have a singing voice that gives them added dimensions, i.e. falsetto, low to high range, tenderness, agressiveness, etc. that gives the overall effect a great listening experience. Soulful singing is fine but without a melody you just have "soulful" and that's it - and that is boring. I do believe it may be the way he was recorded - close miked or something that did it. If you listen to their "live" album you get more variation with him but in the studio, it is a muffled soul voice that really goes nowhere and actually annoys me. Robin was at his best with Procol Harum. VERY emotional and well placed solos. You know - sometimes if you are a great guitar player - well, that's what you are. Like Mick Taylor. Leave it at that and don't pretend you are a band leader and a songwriter. This wrecked both of them. They should have both stayed where they were. Am I wrong? I mean - am I? Where did they wind up? In clubs? They both went from stadiums to--clubs. That's not progress. So - there you are.

...for combined talent and spirituality. In these two releases, coming right after, chronologically, the classic and most famous "Bridge of Sighs" (see my other review) Trower, if possible, continues his remarkable songwriting which simultaneously embraces hard rock, intensity, secularism, and spirituality. I believe it is in the liner notes of this CD, that one of the Fripp's, who was part of King Crimson, said touring with the likes of the Robin Trower band at this period was nothing less than life-influencing and life or spirituality saving or renewing.

And although the sound quality is less than on the "Bridge of Sighs" Anniversary edition with bonus BBC Session tracks I also have reviewed on amazon.com, the sense that you're experiencing the great talent of singer James Dewar, guitarist Robin Trower, and drummer Bill Lordan, is if anything even heightened, as the live performance is stunning (although it gets a little too hard and dark, at least in terms of, at some points in time on "Live", the always all-over-the place, or prominent, and highly virtuosic, Robin Trower guitar-playing).

Dewar is simply the most underrated and too little known, male British rock vocalist of all-time, as his singing was really as good as, in my opinion, the all-time greats like Robert Plant, Paul Rodgers, Jack Bruce, and even John Lennon.

Finally, one last note, "Shame the Devil" is the most openly spiritual of all the songs on "Bridge of Sighs", "For Earth Below", and "Live" and it is remarkable how Dewar is clearly giving it extra passion, versus maybe any other studio track on the two CD releases.

I really rate "For Earth" at 5 but "Live" disappoints me. "Bridge of Sighs" one of the great albums and "For Earth" is a continuation of a very good thing.

By 1975 after the success of his first two albums, Robin Trower was either loved or dissed. If you were lucky enough to attend one of his concerts, there is no way you could admit that anyone on the planet was going to play with more emotion and fire than this man with the bangs, that always dressed in white. If you were thick, you would write-off the amazing talents of this artist as an: "Hendrix Clone".

I was in attendence in San Francisco at the Winterland Arena when Bill Graham made a blunder. He placed Robin Trower, second on the bill to fifties parody rockers: Sha Na Na. Robin's set lasted well over an hour, and almost all of the contents of: "Twice Removed From Yesterday" and "Bridge Of Sighs" were performed. With jaws dropped and still gasping, over half the audience left and headed homewards. It was the greatest guitar playing, I have ever witnessed on any stage, nobody had a right to headline over Robin Trower in 1974...nobody.

How do you top: "Bridge Of Sighs?" Only Robin, himself could answer that question. He simply continued writing music and playing guitar. In 1975, he released his third album: "For Earth Below". It is a worthy successor to the greatness of his first two recordings. Except for the addition of a new drummer: Bill Lordan, this is what we were all expecting from Robin, more great songs and more of his incredible playing.
"Shame The Devil" sets the tone as a solid rock/funk opener. "It's Only Money", is slow and spacey, and Robin uses his effect pedals to fly over you to find notes that exist only out in those galaxies that he is able to soar to. James Dewar, with that gruff voice, is a counterpoint to Robin's guitar, he has never been given his due as a great vocalist, James, gives each number on: "For Earth Below", 150 per-cent of his talents. And the new man; Bill Lordan, does an execellent job as well with his solid playing and accents to everything featured here.

Faster numbers: "Gonna Be Suspicous" and "Alethea" melt together with the slower tunes: "Fine Day" and the dreamlike title track to make this a well-rounded record. "For Earth Below" does not top: "Bridge Of Sighs", but it is that record's equal, in every way.

"Live" was brought out in 1976 and DOES show what Robin's music becomes when he plays in front of an audience. It is my favorite of his 70's records. To hear the amazing track: "Daydream" in this majestic form, will leave you gasping, It is a wonder to hear Robin live,and what he plays here is haunting and beautiful, and this material is so full of fury at the same time. When he held that one note, {For Days} everybody at the concert, I attended, was right there with him for the journey and we could not believe this was happening. "Too Rolling Stoned" goes so much beyond it's studio cousin, as does "I Can't Wait Much Longer", that had grown wings since it's first appearance in 1973. The studio recordings are fine, but they only HINT at what Robin plays live in concert. "Live" is a must-own, for anyone who likes rock, and rock guitar. And when you think about what is not included, it is indeed a shame that the full concert has never been brought forth.

Come on, Man.. $200?? While this is some excellent Music, that price is downright crazy... Order this straight from Amazon, new, for $18. It will be availble December, 2008.

The heavy Hendrix roots are obvious, but his licks are his own and he sounds more distinctive and less like an imitator than Stevie Ray Vaughn does. He understands nuance, doesn't tire anything out, and creates mood with his guitar playing like few before or after him. The late Dewar's deep, mournful vocals blend perfectly. These CDs are meant to be played Loud! The top cuts on BOS are Day of the Eagle, Little Bit of Sympathy, and Too Rolling Stoned, but there isn't a bad song among this remarkably balanced and well produced collection.

The product was advertised as new, I received the disc in an unwrapped broken jewel case with disc sticking out of case. Disc works but now I have no faith in their service.

For a long time I couldn't find either one of these two landmark Trower CD's anywhere. Twice Removed From Yesterday was just not to be found. Then somebody had the good sense to put both albums on this CD. If you are a Robin Trower fan and don't have either one of these then you need them in your library. I saw Robin Trower live do Bridge of Sighs in the Old Paramount Theater in Portland Oregon and it was astounding! An excellant value that belongs in anyone's rock music collection.

I bought this for the title track of "Bridge of Sighs." All the other tracks on both albums were unremarkable.

I have been looking for "In City Dreams" ever since my turntable died several years ago. I would have perfered to find "In City Dreams" packaged by itself but "Long Misty Days" is OK.

This was a great deal. 2 excellent playlists on one CD. Price was also good. Delivery was quick.

Blues today just doesn't sound as funky, powerful, soulful and groovy as this stuff. Long Misty Days is a ballad for all time, and from there this collection never lets up with its blues prowess and tight jamming. This is a great deal as both records were in my opinion two of Trower's best with the vocals of Dewar. I wish more guitar players today would keep it real like this music here.

I see and read these silly guitarist and rock documentaries and they all go on about Jimmy Page this and Jimi Hendrix that - yawn. It's as if there is an industry of Jimmies. What why isn't Robin Trower ever mentioned? He's just as good a player as those guys are. I used to sit in my bedroom listening to Trower's "Long Misty Days" and wonder why Page and Clapton were the guitar gods, when Trower and a host of others weren't the exalted ones? If only "Days" and "Bridge Of Sighs" were released on one disc. I'm afraid a law would have to be passed demanding any kid who was thinking of playing guitar buy it, learn it and live it.

I originally bought this for "Bridge of Sighs", an old rememberance from long ago.
I found some other songs that I didn't remember at all and was quite pleased to have found them. I played the CD pretty much non stop in my vehicle for 3 weeks.
Unfortunate that the lead singer, James Dewar is gone. It puts a lot of the work in a different light. Some real Bluesey tunes on there.

DAY OF THE EAGLE: THE BEST OF ROBIN TROWER is a great anthology of Robin Trower's work from 1973 to 1980. However, it should be purchased with BRIDGE OF SIGHS and THE ESSENTIAL ROBIN TROWER, because both of those have the studio version of "Too Rolling Stoned", whereas this one has a live version. The comparisons to Jimi Hendrix are totally unwarranted, because NOBODY could clone Jimi, and Robin was, and is, a great guitarist in his own right. Despite a few missteps (where's "Twice Removed From Yesterday"?), this anthology deserves five stars.

This is an excellent collection of Robin Trower tunes. Next to 'Too Rolling Stoned', 'Day of the Eagle' is one of the greatest Trower songs ever recorded. The remaster on it makes it the ultimate version. 'Alethea' is a text book on the wah wah - the live version here even includes the drum solo. I remember hearing 'Bridge of Sighs' for the 1st time - wondering how he got the magical guitar sound (swirling univibe). Take a Fast Train was the B side of Man of a world now available for the 1st time. Of course for the die hard fans, there is always discussion of songs that should have been included that were left out. I only give it a 4 because they left off a few my favs - live versions of 'Lady Love', 'Little bit of Symphathy', and 'Rock me Baby' to name a couple. But just go get the Robin Trower LIVE cd and you will have all of those great tunes. For those who do not have all of Robin Trowers cd's (shame on you...), this is a great place to start. So get this one NOW- then buy all his other stuff. He is a legend you know!

This was a perfect walk on memory lane! I'd almost forgotten how much I loved Robin Trower's silvery, ethereal guitar and James Dewar's golden-throated, soulful voice. Day of the Eagle has many of the iconic Trower songs, and I listened to it several times, then loaded it on my mp3 player for any time I need a "fix". No other guitar player today has the same sound; Robin Trower is truly an original. A must-have for all Trower fans and those who love guitar legends.

I totally agree with the other reviewer, Robin Trower never has received the recogniton he deserves, and he's as good as Clapton, Beck, Page, Townshend, Alvin Lee, Ritchie Blackmore, Toni Iommi,Stevie Ray Vaughan, and all the other familiar guitar heroes over the years, and so what if he was influenced by Jimi Hendrix, so were thousands of other guitarists, including the ones mentioned above! Even the great blues guitarist Buddy Guy said he was influenced by Jimi's playing, and said Jimi was doing things on the guitar that to this day no guitar player has figured out how he made certain sounds, and noboby has come close to duplicating that sound! Trower I don't believe "copied" Jimi's overall sound, just a similarity, but he was a huge fan, but Trower's style is not EXACTLY like Jimi Hendrix, and nobody's style is the same as Jimi's, never will there be anyone close in my opinion. I've been playing guitar myself for over 46 years, and I wish I could play half as good as Robin Trower or any of the guitarists I've mentioned.

This collection of songs is very good and covers stuff from all through his years after he left Procol Harum.

Although his debut album in my opinion really didn't have much of the "Hendrix" influenced sound, if you're just getting into Robin Trower, the album/CD to get is without a doubt "Bridge Of Sighs" from 1974, his masterpiece, and absolutely one of the greatest albums of all time, and certainly the best album of 1974!---Glenn Signal Hill, CA USA

A two album CD one disc that is vintage Robin Trower. Both of these albums made the Billboard top 40 & deservedly so. Are they his best albums? No, but you do get a very good representation here of what Trower was about at this stage. Both albums are similar to each other so it's easy to speak of them together as they are presented here.

Outstanding songs include "My Love (Burning Love)" which should have been a hit for him; there's also "Caravan to Midnight", an instrumental which leaves the impression of the title, "King of the Dance" a foot tapper & "Victims of the Fury".

The sound is excellent released on a British label licensed by Capitol Records. It's an import & priced a little high but well worth the investment.

I am a new customer to Amazon and I have found the whole experience ausome. I have struggled for many years to buy CD's that I considered rear until I was told to google Amazon. I have found so many old bands I thought would never be available again. The other amazing thing is they are delivered to your door and at very reasonable rates. Amazon you da bomb.

I bought this CD as well as all the other available Robin Trower two-fers as a cheap way to replace all my old Trower LPs. However I discovered that the song "The Shout" from Victims Of The Fury is missing, apparently sacrificed due to time constraints caused by the double offering. It is one of the best songs on the original album, and I believe it was one of the "single" releases. A glaring omission! If they really had to kill a tune, I would rather have seen "One In A Million" get the axe. Other than that, everything is great! I have always loved VOTF, and slowly but surely the tunes from Caravan have grown on me.

Having two Robin Trower lps on one CD is convenient, however, the song listings do not indicate which selections belongs to which CD. The two lps show two contrasting styles of the gifted power trio that formed Trower's band in his later period.

This package has the last two albums recorded by the band with the wonderful James Dewar on vocals. The first, Caravan to Midnight I found disappointing. The album represented a change in direction and in my opinion not for the better. Robin Trower admitted to spending more time on musical arrangements than previously and although the guitar work is still excellent, the funkier sound leaves me a bit cold. Victims of the Fury is a welcome return to the more familiar power trio line-up (Rustee Allen played bass on Caravan to Midnight and In City Dreams), and has Robin back to his raw sounding best. I rate this as the band's best since For Earth Below.

I loved "B.L.T." when it came out on vinyl in 1981. Hearing it on CD in 2008 is quite pleasant as well. The record has aged well. Trower is, well Trower at his best...His tone is more straight than on most of his solo records, and l happen to enjoy this change. Trower's recent releases have this more organic guitar sound as well...it's still unmistakably Robin. The record is cool because the music is just slightly different from any Jack Bruce or Robin Trower record.
There really is a unique chemistry between the players. Bill Lordan is an awesome drummer and his contribution should not be overlooked. Jack Bruce is great as always...his bass playing is gorgeous and he is in good voice. I think "B.L.T." is definitely the better of the two records, both in vibe and sound. The songs are also more fully realized.

As I said, "Truce" does not hold up as well as "B.L.T.". While I like the material enough, the main victim of bad 80's production is the unfortunate drum sounds. However, what I like is the R&B vibe and Trower and Bruce both play this style very well without losing their footing. Trower uses more effects on this record, which may be some indication that he felt less confident about the quality of the material. Jack Bruce sings really well on this collection and his bass playing is stunning as ever. While not a great record, it still a nice collection from these two legendary artists.

FYI- For those who haven't heard their 2007 release, "Seven Moons", it is not only the best collaboration between Trower and Bruce but one of the finest records of either man's career.

I had the album in the 80's and lost it during one of my many moves while going to college. It's still excellent to listen to.

Robin Trower is an underrated guitarist. He's not an unknown but he hasn't receive the same recognition from the public as some of his peers. He's from the Jimi Hendrix era & school, so there's the inevitable comparison to that guitarist. Trower is similar to Hendrix but mellower, in general. On these two albums Trower hooked up with Cream bassist Jack Bruce. Both albums are good with several highlights including: "Carmen", "Little Boy Lost" & "Last Train to the Stars". Surprisingly, there is little collaboration between the two principals; they each write with their own lyricist. These two albums are significantly different from Trower's previous albums so there is a reaction to the change. Originally, when these albums were released on vinyl, I didn't take to them well. Now, years later, I realize it was a good change & I enjoy them much more now.

As the author of the Jefferson Airplane book "Take Me To A Circus Tent" I am asked often to review and talk about rock and roll recordings from the 60's and 70's.

The idea of a double package (Giving the fan both "BLT" & "Truce") is a great marketing tool. Almost everyone that owns the 2 albums enjoy "BLT" more, thus you can look at "Truce" being included as a bonus.

There is a lot of positive musical events that went on during the idea of Robin Trower teaming with one time Cream bass-player Jack Bruce. You not only have two musicians that can improvise on any tune but be tasty on the three minute rockers as well. Joined by drummer Bill Lordan (Played on many Trower recordings) the trio works well and can push each other. Something that has often times been forgotten is Robin Trower employed the services of the former lyricist he worked with in Procol Harum (Keith Reid). The foundation was set on both the music side and the lyrical content.

The song that got the airplay from "BLT" is "Into Money." It happens to be the first track and puts you in the proper frame of mind in helping to digest the rest.

When "BLT" is finished (Last song has the fitting title "End Game") do not let any previous reviews of "Truce" turn you off to the recording before it starts.

Be prepared to listen to "Truce" two or three times before you can sink your teeth into the material. It is a win win situation. If you like even one tune on the album you are that much more ahead of the game. If you only think "BLT" gives you the flavor you crave, you didn't go out of your way to get "Truce" anyway. There is a good chance you will find it better than you were told it would sound.

These guys rock and you can be along for the ride.

This is a biased review because I love this artist and I knew the music well before choosing the purchase. It is great!

This is an exceptional recording. Trower's guitar playing here is better than ever...more nuanced, more dynamic and its clear that the lyrical nature of his approach has deepened over the years. This is not a rock record, but it is most definitely a first class Robin Trower record...Davey Pattinson is a terrific singer and stands tall in the tradition of classic british blues vocalists like James Dewar and Paul Rodgers. The rhythm section is also great. The record features some fine songwriting, even finer tunefulness and an excellent intimate performance atmosphere. Robin Trower and his mates are aging quite gracefully.

I enjoyed the 'r and b' vibe of Bridge of Sighs and Twice Removed... as well as his live stuff, but this cd, picked up on a whim, is now my favourite of all the Trower albums I've heard. It's full of great blues songs and playing---simple but soulful and tasteful phrasing, a good variety of distorted tones, even some slightly wonky bending for spice. Singing from the 3 vocalists, including the old man himself, is excellent---great to hear him as good (or better?) than ever.

First, let's be clear... This is blues album, you won't find any Secret Place, Little Bit O Sympathy, Bridge of Sighs, or Hannah here, just the Blues. This album was previously released with Robin singing all the lead vocals (and doing a rather good job overall)as "Someday Blues", but there is no question that Davey Pattison is a better singer. All the guitar and drum parts are exactly the same on both albums only the vocal has been changed. And it's still a pretty good blues album, with a couple good original blues, and some good covers. Robin still gets is some great licks and this material makes a nice addition to his live shows. But it is the Blues, and nothing but the blues, so help me God.

Huge Trower fan and I was really disappointed when he put this all-blues album. I recently decided to give it another listen and it is really enjoyable. These aren't all blues "standard" type songs like "Crossroads". There are some songwriting twists which are unmistakenly genuine Robin Trower. The guitar volume is turned down a bit but he still uses some effects and the songwriting is great. His playing rocks on this CD which surprised me. Davey Pattison is also much better when he sings the blues I found. This exact CD was also put out on "Someday Blues" with only Robin singing which is a really strange move.

I love Robin but I have to tell you this was a most disappointing effort. Nothing on this CD reveals the magic that Robin can create. He just recycles old tired blues lines that you've heard a million times. He has so many better albums you can skip this one. Note that no album (even his live ones) recreate how good he is live. If he's ever in your town, go see him!

I was pleasantly surprised--yeah, even shocked--at Trower's near perfect delivery. This recording is like discovering classic Trower all over again. Beware: you may be tempted dawn headphones and blow some eardrums out. Simply put, a must-have. Save for Pink Floyd's PULSE, Trower's LIVING OUT OF TIME: LIVE is my favorite live DVD.

ASIDE: "Living Out of Time: LIVE", which is also issued in CD form, is NOT a live version of the studio CD "Living Out Of Time." That said, the latter ("Living Out Of Time") is a fantastic CD, saturated with classic Trower energy. I got the two confused, but I'm glad I did--I mistakenly wound up with both wonderful recordings.

I've got a pretty nice collection of live concert dvds by some of the best groups or solo artists ever, and I would have to rank this in the top 5! The sound quality is incredible if you have a high end theater system. Robin Trower is an underated artist and after seeing this(and also listening to his cd Bridge of Sighs), you can bet that he inspired a lot of newer performers such as Stevie Ray Vaughn. I specifically searched Amazon to see if Robin Trower had a live dvd, and man did it pay off! If you like Stevie Ray, then Robin Trower will blow you away.

I've been a fan of Robin Trower since the early 70's. He was my inspiration to start playing guitar. This DVD is simply AWESOME! A must have for any RnR/Blues fan. Good thing DVD's don't "wear out" from playing them, cause this one, is gonna see lot's of play time! Happy Birthday Robin Trower.

For some reason I was not moved by this show that much.Trower seems like he really relays to much on his cry baby on this date.I was a little bored with basicly the same led over and over again.I've seen him play ten times better in the past.It's your call on this one I'm just passing you a tip of how this DVD moved me.
