not a bad album. i was expecting moore songs like cry for you, but its a bit more pop. theres a few awesome songs like freaking out and rip and until i die.

Put the sizzle back into your summer with this red hot Euro-dance album from Swedish singer Petra Marklund, better known as September. This album combines hits from her previous albums and this particular version was only released in the USA.

The BIG song of the album is "Cry For You" from her 2005 album "In Orbit", and if you've spent any time recently listening to dance music you'll have heard this one several times. Other songs from "In Orbit" are "Satellites", "Looking for Love", "Midnight Heartache" and "Flowers on the Grave".

From the album "Dancing Shoes" (2007) there are the singles "Can't Get Over", "Until I Die" and "Because I Love You", plus other tracks "My Neighborhood", "Sad Song", "Candy Love", "Taboo", "Freaking Out" and "RIP"

I have not been able to buy a dance artist's CD that I could play from "START TO FINISH" without getting bored and wanting to change tracks at some point. This album is so brilliant that it's a MUST have for anyone's CD collection that can appreciate good beats and vocals with high energy!

This is the best CD I have bought in the last 10 years. I feel like buying 10 more and handing them out to people who I feel would like it. The first time I listened to it, I already had 6 songs that I loved - after one listen! I can't say enough about this CD. This is the first time I reviewed a CD, because I feel that stongly about it. You will love this CD if you like dance music, trance music, or if you got an ear for some catchy Euro music. Buy this CD - you won't be sorry!

I am so happy that I purchased this CD. I had only heard one of her songs prior to purchasing this CD, but I love them all now. What a great artist. This is my official summer 2008 CD.

All of these tracks have its own touch to make the same some unique...u are certainly dancing to each track.

petra marklund is a spectacular vocalist with phenominal beats to create a beautiful listening experience.

I like music that is certain and this song is quite certain of what it has to say and where it is going. The beat is strong and the lyric direct. The female singer has made up her mind, personally and vocally and sings her words with no hesitation. Petra Marklund, the singer and chief creative force behind September has a full and rich voice as she carries the song with the best intentions. She is referred to as 'determined' in her biography and that comes through in her music. I look forward to more from her. "The force is strong in this one..."

I have been a fan of hers for several years now. This latest release is my favorite. I bought the CD before I saw her perform live at WKTU's Beatstock 2008 in New Jersey in late August. This CD is fantastic and I recommend it to everyone who is a fan of dance music. I especially like the last version of the song on the CD. Her live performance was also fantastic.

For me this second album is the best work of September! She has improved her voice that it's fantastic...I'm excite when I listen these songs...WOW!!!
My favourite tracks are Satellites, It doesn't matter, Sacrifice, Sound memory...I suggest you to listen it!!!! You can watch a video of "Satellites" and "Looking for love" ;-)

I love this cd! I listen to it all the time, when I'm in the car. I think the songs on it are beautiful. I think that the songs are both entertaning and moving(flowers on the grave). I wish more of American artists were like this.

This CD is really fun. As I listen to the album I tend to recognize
different elements in some of the tracks, which I think is pretty clever.
They are new songs to me but something familiar about them helps to really
bring me in as a listener. I would recommend this album for the song
"Satellites" alone. Good purchase.
Confessions on a Dance Floor

In Orbit is one of the best upbeat cds I have heard in years. If you love dance music that is without the screachy sticatto synth jabs in the background and is without the weak flat female vocals that so many dance tunes seem to have lately, then you should check out September - Petra has renewed my faith that there is still creative fun pop music being made. Her vocals are rich and emotion-ful. The producers: Bhagavan/von der Burg brothers have a great sound and I hope they produce more artists soon.

the video for 'Satellites' just blew me away!! i'm telling you---watching her dance in that white dress was a mind blower! i was able to watch the video on you-tube because i never could get the one on the cd to work.

the CD has about 10 songs on it---all good. the cd also has two videos on it, 'Satellites' and 'Looking for Love'. for the life of me, i can't figure out how to view them. i've tried every multimedia player known to man and none of them will work. it's frustrating to the max---you'd think they would've put these two multimedia files in a format Windows Media Player could recognize.

oh well. other than not being able to play the videos, the CD is awesome.

When I listen for the first time "Satellites" in a dance compilations I asked to me who is the singer because I was amazed from this voice!!! I didn't know September! For this I have decided to buy all her albums and now I'm enjoy!!!!
I'd like this first cd that confirm the impression that I had at the start! September unites an excellent pop dance with a beautiful voice!!!! In this début album it's already evident!!!!
My favourite tracks are Same old song, Get what you paid for, La La La (Never Give It Up), Can't love myself, Love thing.

I just got this CD and i LOVE it. I find this her best album of the 3. I also got In Orbit first, and I loved it very very much. When Dancing Shoes was released, I thought it was little less then In Orbit, and I just found out about this one, and I cannot stop playing these songs!

The two reviews above are totally on-target. I too purchased this CD after In Orbit and LOVE IT. Hey, she's got a new CD being released 9/26/07 in Europe -- where's the pre-order Amazon?

I purchased this cd after really enjoying her latest Cd "In Orbit". What makes September different than other dance/pop artists is her wonderfully rich and emotional vocals. If you like In Orbit, you can't go wrong with this one. The producers: Anoo Bhagavan and Niclas and Jonas von der Burg have a great nack for creating fun memorable tunes that you don't get bored of after one listen.

What a pack of lies this title is! Beautiful Music for Christmas? Yeah right! It's horrid. I guess I should be forgiven for thinking that an Xmas CD from Varese Sarabande would have might have (should have) been enchanting. What we actually get is far, far from it.

This entire CD is filled sleazy 70's midwestern folk music that isn't even of truck stop hotel lobby winebar band quality. This CD is dripping with so much sleaze I'm amazed I managed to hold onto it long enough to get it in my DVD player.

Shame on Varese for producing this. Shame, shame, shame! An utterly bog-standard CD that ought to be on sale at 99c in the bargain bucket next to the checkout at your local supermarket.

'Holiday Magic' indeed. Puh-lease!

I bought this album, blindly, for a dollar at a secondhand store. It is one of the most pleasurable dollars I've ever spent. I'm usually into metal, rock, and things with more vitriol and power, but there is a strange haunting power about this album that runs strangely well with its folk-pop exterior. It seems femme and innocent at first, but if you pay attention to the lyrics and the throaty, girlish vocals, you begin to recognize a darker and deeper meaning.

Acoustic guitar and female vocals don't usually do it for me, but I find myself singing along with "Hazel Motes" and "Setting the Old House on Fire". The lyrics are immediately relatable. Some undefinable quality communicates between September 67 and the listener. On a more mundane note, this is great music to study or work to, or to sing to your cat when no one else is home.

This album isn't exactly popular or well-known, but that's a pity of poor marketing. Its lure spans genres. If you run across it, buy it on faith. You aren't likely to regret it.

I bought this without hearing it and really enjoyed it from the second song on. The songs that appealed to me the most are Lucky Shoe and Giant. The first song didn't grab me, but I found myslef really enjoying everything else. This is one of those discs that can repeat itself several times and I don't get tired of it - which is rare for me. I was out here looking for more by them, but Lucky Shoe is all I could find - kind of a shame, they are much better than average. I thought the voice and style was reminiscent of Abra Moore. Beautiful music with great lyrics - 4 stars.

I come back to this album time and time again. There's something about the music, the lyrics, that speak to me. The song "Lucky Shoe" talks of Barboursville, VA, "Welcome to Barboursville, the ruins are up there on the hill / Hold still for Jefferson, his ghost is there, his ghost has won my heart." The ruins of the house Jefferson designed there make a lasting impression, as if the place is indeed haunted by his spirit. "Busy Building" is a plea to Michelangelo who is "Busy building David, too busy for love". If only there were other CDs out there by September 67. Buy this album. It will hold a special place in your heart like it does mine.

This is a great cd. There are some decent reviews of it already online just look! Hopefully Shannon & Kristin will sing together again. If not it would be great to see them involved in solo projects or a new group!

very nice song and production from this group called "september", has a kind of early 80s disco feel, nice melody, nice production, and a hook that will pull you in from the next room..the only downside to this song is the vocalist, her vocals are barely passable, one will never confuse her with france joli....highly recomended

The best mix isn't even on this CD maxi single. The best remix is by Dor Dekel. It's more progressive yet not as progressive like a fast paced adrenaline amphetamine mix. I love this song it's catchy not like all the hip hop crap coming out in the US where every singer(opps rapper) is black and a white singer gets criticized for just being a white singer/artist.

Love it love it love it! Can't wait to pick up some of her other material. I've seen a few videos (including a very cool acoustic version of Satelites). A wonderful voice through and through. A must for those who love dance music...

I like this... there is a compilation I found on itunes called "EURO CLUB HITS VOL. 1" that has more stuff like this, even better some of it

"Satellites" was originally released as a single in Europe shortly after the album's release in 2005. It finally found a home in the states with Robbins Entertainment, the label responsible for bringing us Ian Van Dahl, Lasgo, and Reina. I am glad this union came to fruition, because the import single for this song contained fairly uninteresting mixes.

The "US" mix is fairly faithful to the original with a few poppy quirks. The "Extended" (which is less than 5 minutes long, a crappy extended mix) is alright, but it's just the album version with a bit of length. The Electro mix is fun, but a tad boring. The Club Junkies provide the first interesting remix, giving us a Euro-styled club trance mix. Not amazing, but pretty good. Clubstar provide us with a more aggressive mix reminiscent of Cascada with the pounding beats, although I'm not overly fond of it. It's got a nice piano melody though. Flip N' Fill provide something I'm sure most aren't used to from them. Their mix is not nearly as fast as some of their other mixes. Pretty fun!

The winner here though, is the Dancing DJs mix. Full on trance with Petra's AMAZING vocals, a big stadium sound, and a fantastic beat. This remix really is not to be missed!

All in all this is a fantastic introduction to September. I hope to see more of them in the future, and DEFINITELY check out the album, In Orbit.

From the Sweden dance scene September, this remix CD is just ok. If you like dance music it would be good to have but it is just run of the mill POP dance. I was expecting some interesting remixes but thought they were fairly bland; still she is better then some of the other stuff out there
