This is a great mixed up compilation of good house and minimal house.

Last weekend we were at the camping village of Nature One. And we played this CD's the hole time.

It was a great time there with the finest of electronic music.

Absolutely stellar mix with a real party vibe that has been absent on many of the new GU releases. Sharam remains a tastemaker and a brilliant DJ with a simple attitude towards mixing; that is to say he simple gets out of the way of a bevy of amazing songs. Highly, highly recommended.

I own every frickin' GU that there is and I skipped this one when it was released because I didn't think I liked Deep Dish. I hated Toronto and I thought the after club discs were lame. I didn't trust Deep Dish and the change that their releases were bringing to the GU empire. But then I unexpectedly loved Dubfire in Taipei which I got just to give Deep Dish and GU one more chance. So, I decided to take a chance on Sharam, fully expecting to be dissapointed. well, the joke's on me because I think this disc is just fine. It's shiny, funky and not quite as ponderous as some ultra serious GU mixes can tend to be.I finally surrendered my expectations of what I thought a GU disc was 'supposed' to be and as I enjoyed this set, it dawned on me: GU releases GOOD MUSIC. It doesn't matter that trance is over. When trance was the big sound, they released the best trance mixes of all. Now, they're just releasing good dance music, whatever the style,cheese free. Some mixes are still trance-y,some aren't. Some releases are better than others, but they are all noble efforts by masters, including this one. Then, I went back to the older Deep Dish GU releases to make sure I didn't miss anything. I still didn't like Toronto much, but I realised that Sharam's Toronto after club sounded better to me than before. It was then that I fully realised what the term 'ahead of it's time' means. That disc was ahead of it's time. Wow. Now, I get it. And this release is right on time.

The only thing that makes this a mix CD is the fact that it is gapless. This might as well be unmixed because every song is married to the next by at least 30 seconds of nothing but a snare, kick & hi-hat. A *real* mix intertwines songs, having them play off on another.

I give it one star because the songs are good and it has a flow. Though, overall I'm extremely disappointed.

Max is an outstanding live performer so if you get the chance to see her DO! Her website usually lists where she's playing live.

"Coma" should be listed as one of the best and most creative songs ever written. I don't get it, why did she disappear? I'd be her biggest fan if she ever makes a comeback. This is such a great album, she's up there with Fiona Apple.

It's a sad thing when an artist isn't embraced by even her home country. Australia's reception to Max gave her a few singles, but not nearly enough credit for an album which stands comparison to the first albums of such singers as Aimee Mann and Jill Sobule.

The blend of rock tracks and ballads is a tad uneven, which makes for a tough listen. "Be Firm" blasts out of the stereo like the best rock track should, whilst "Alice" feels like a B-Side more than an integrated track. The classic "Coma" never gets tired, and the cover of "Candles in the Rain" is strangely uplifting.

Max was ahead of her time and ahead of her country's tastes. With a little tweaking and a US release the album would have been a classic. As it is, the album is a varied and interesting outing by an artist who doesn't look like returning to sing for us anytime soon.

I, for one, am glad she imparted "Million Year Girl" before departing our shores.

Australian artist Max Sharam doesn't seem to have done much since "A Million Year Girl", her debut album. And it's a shame, because alongside the smash single "Coma", which showcases Max's unusual vocal talents, are tracks which play, in retrospect, like a mellower Alanis. Like Alanis, too, Max can do extraordinary things with her voice; she bends notes and pitch with alarming versatility.

The tracks she wrote herself are largely the best ones; "Alice" is soft with characteristically thoughtful lyrics, while "Can I Catch Fire?", "Huntingground" and "Coma" are closer to the Alanis "angry young woman" image. But don't get me wrong; Max is not a mere precursor to Morissette; her sound is vastly different, employing a mix of different guitar, keyboarding and vocal styles, as well as a few more unusual elements like harps, french horns and the odd sound effect for good measure.

All that, and there's a ! brilliant cover of Melanie's "Lay Down (Candles in the Rain)" and the wonderfully sentimental "Is it Okay if I Call You Mine?". Check it out; Max is unique.

Excellent debut. When I listen to the beats and styles, it reminds me of when you would see the dance battles in Beat Street, Breakin/ Breakin 2. Stand out tracks on this album include 4 Da Loverz, Push Your Body, Danse Avec Moi. Great Debut.

Shahram Nazeri, Hossein Alizadeh, and the rest of the orchestra produce very inspirational and enlightening music that everyone who has an Iranian family background or interest in Persian culture should buy.

Mr. Nazeri and the musicians present a superb interpretation of not only Rumi's poems, but also that of Molavi, Nezami-e-Ganjavi, Hafez, etc. Knowledge of Farsi language makes one even more appreciative of the songs and the richness of this poetic language.

Well the lyrics are from Rumi as said before and are imortal, and the music is pleasent and fits Shahram Nazeris voice well. One of the best Sufi Music CDs you can find.

Though close to 10 years old, this is one of the most dynamic and creative pieces Nazeri has done on Rumi's poems. The improvisations on Daf and Setar bring out the true spirit of Rumi music. This is a must-have, whether you want to get to know Nazeri, or are already a fan.
