I guess when you can't come up with creative, new music you just keep crapping out greatest (s)hits packages. It's only been a couple of years since Tim's last package of hits and here he is again with yet another one. I guess for Tim's next album, Curb Records could release the top 10 Tim McGraw songs that have appeared the most on greatest hits packages of his.

Just another example here of a record label that's out for themselves, and all they really care about is making more money. Tim has his own label now and just has to wait out his contract with curb records before he can release his own new CD. I think the best quote ever is from Tim himself:

"In the spirit of an election year, I would simply say to my fans ***I'm Tim McGraw, and I don't approve their message.***"

WOW!! $2.99?? You cannot beat this price for any TM CD hurry and get it before it goes up. Thanks Amazon.

Koodos to Amazon for offering this album for $2.99 on it's release date. A lot of great songs on this album. From the opening with Back When to the end with Nine Lives. For me this was the kicker. I knew I had heard it before, and through checking my iTunes librabry sure enough it was on Def Leppard's Songs From The Sparkle Lounge. I think it is way cool to see Def Leppard and Tim Mcgraw working together. This is a must have album for any music lover.

It seems like every time I turn around Tim McGraw is releasing another Greatest Hits CD. The difference between McGraw and some of the other artists that keep releasing recycled hits, is that McGraw has such a steady string of hits that he has excellent new material for each offering. Greatest Hits # 2 features 16 great songs, many of which highlight McGraw's smooth voice and incredible selection of songs. He continually chooses songs that seem to resonate with people. From ballads to faster songs, McGraw seems to be at home in most styles. Not many artists can sound just as at home with Faith Hill and Nelly. My personal favorites are: The Cowboy in Me, Red Ragtop, and My Little Girl. There is not a bad song in the bunch. This is 5 star excellence from McGraw.

This is a great CD. I love listening to it. I love the songs and I enjoy the artist, Tim McGraw.

When I received the cd, it was severely scratched. The first song played and I was very happy until the second song started and skipped threw the whole song, so I skipped it to track four and it was scratched there as well. I ended up throwing the cd away.

Now I never liked country till I heard Garth Brooks "The Thunder Rolls" song and I thought that was amazing till I heard this album from Tim McGraw...he blew my one fave country song to smitherines with an awesome display of what country should be...now I will not claim to be a huge country music fan nor pretend I know whats hot or not ....but this album takes you everywhere on the emotional map...

I already have this CD but it's never where I want it to be (car or home) so I decided to buy another so Tim can be hanging out with me more of the time :)

I bought this album for my husband for Valentine's Day because "My Best Friend" was our first dance song at our wedding. It turns out the whole album is great!

Great swinging country CD, can't help turning up the volume when this one is on !

"Let It Go," is not the best country CD you will hear. Nor is it the worst. What it just might be is the stepping stone to the next chapter in Tim McGraw's career - the chapter where he's taken seriously as an artist.

No more barbecue stains on his white t-shirt and that makes some of you sad, doesn't it? Well, I guess Tim could stay the same as he was twenty years ago and we could all go back to high school and the world could stop evolving. Tim's an artist and he's trying to become a better one. This record is a huge step in the right direction.

He shows on so many of the tracks that he can convey so many different emotions other than sappy love or high school reminiscing. It's the same metamorphosis that George Strait went through and moved his career right along through the stratosphere, and I believe McGraw will accompany him.

Strong songs, strong vocals, bold new direction for Tim.

I thought this cd was about avergae after my first few listens; yet several months later (and about a million more listens), this cd has really grown on me. Tim's voice has the ability to make the best of avergae material; if you give this cd a few listens, his voice will captivate you and make you fall in love - with him and his songs.

My favorite songs on "Let It Go" are "I'm Working", "Whiskey and You", "Between the River and Me", "Kristofferson" and "Put Your Loving on Me". "Put Your Loving on Me" is my favorite song on this cd as this displays Tim at his best - raw, sexy, and sensual! A must add to you Tim McGraw collection.

I love this music, I love Tim and his music and this is just great, I'm glad I bought it, we listen to it almost every day.

Tim McGraw never fails on his music and this CD is no exception! I actually bought the CD because of his remake of 'Suspicions.'
Overall, the CD is great!!

Well here I am again. Thank God the divorce will be coming soon. My soon to be ex-wife has tortured me with country music for 12 years and finally the last straw fell last year. The divorce papers are being processed, but not fast enough for me to move out before the witch had to torture me with one more Tim McGraw CD. It's like putting rock salt on the stump of a freshly amputated leg.

Well let's see if Tim has changed since I was first introduced to him soon after my wedding night 12 years ago.

1. Same whiney voice that tries to again convince you that these songs come from his heart. Tim McGraw has never written a song in his life and nothing changes here. He is still only a 'performer' but people want to call him an 'artist'. For all you inbred cousin breeders out there, an 'artist' creates. Tim does not 'create' anything. He only sings the elevator songs that are handed to him by the Nashville MuZak producing machine.

2. Same pouty album cover. Tim is still taking photos with his beard stubble, much like Kip WInger of the 80's. You're an ugly man Tim, give it up. But I am grateful that he still wears his cowboy hat to hide his ugly bald head.

3. Oh wonderful here we have yet another duet with his scag wife Faith. If you've heard one you've hard them all and they all suck. The whiner and his roadkill voiced wife.

Folks I am so happy I will be divorced soon. I will no longer live in a nice house, but in a cheap apartment or a trailer, I will only see my kids on weekends, I have to work two jobs just to pay alimoney and child support, not to mention supporting myself, but it is a small price to pay for never having to listen to Tim McGraw again.

And to all the men out there. Do not get a divorce in North Carolina. If you are a man, you are screwed.

I've always liked Tim's songs and have collected his albums over the years. But this album really hit me with the title track, "Live Like You Were Dying". Four years ago I was diagnosed with an incurable disease which takes 20% of us who have it. So after hearing this song, I looked at this illness a little differently.

It took me these past 4 years to come out of the depression from the bad news. This summer I finally felt up to doing things again, so we used this song as our summer theme. I'd been skydiving before, and this illness already seems like 8 seconds of bull riding, so we didn't have to do those. But we went Rocky Mountain climbing. And went Hood and Rainier climbing, and we went Alaska Mountain climbing. I had to prove to myself that I can still do stuff like that again. And we did it for a good cause, for charity, "Summitting for the Bipolar Cure - 2007".

You know, I look back to when I was younger. When I was perfect. When I thought that ill people should just, "get over it, work a little harder, and achieve what everybody else was achieving." But I've learned a lesson the hard way that sometimes it ain't always that easy.

Thanks for recognizing all of us with chronic deadly diseases and giving us a more positive way of looking at it. You got a good heart, man.

You don't have to like country to love Tim McGraw's music. And this is by far his best album yet. My favorite two songs are "Live Like You Were Dyin'" and "Drugs or Jesus." Both tunes compel you stop, listen and ponder your life every time you hear them played. "How Bad Do You Want It" and "Everybody Hates Me" are fun songs you can't help but raise the volume and play them loud. I had to buy this CD twice because I played it so often I scratched it up!

Mr. Faith Hill rocks and kicks butt again with the memorable DO YOU WANT FRIES WITH THAT?. I heard this album in the jukebox in my local pub and it kicks major rear! I wouldn't be a bit surprised if this album won Grammys. What the hell? Half of one of the most popular country couples deserves them,right?

When "Live like you were dying" first came out, I had just found out that I had Cancer and I was scared to death. He really made me think about life and everything around me. I seem to only review CDs that I believe are deserving of the coveted 5-star Amazon rating. This one, is not only a non-exception, but this one could very well be my favorite CD. Its hard to pick a favorite with Tim putting together so many good albums. Not to mention all the stuff Pearl Jam has released, but thats for different reviews. This disc is a great start to fifnish album. I love those. Lets start at the beginning. Where the Green Grass Grows is a great up-tempo song. It's deffinatly country, but the steel guitar falls a far second to the fiddle. The drumming is mixed more like a rock song, but that just helps push the tempo. The lyrics are great. Talking about getting out of the old town, and away from the city. To live out in the country, where the green grass grows.

For a Little While Is another good up-tempo song. It's a little more rock n roll than the first track. More piano driven, but thie fiddle and steel still own a big part in the song. The lyrics reflect on an old summer love. The kind that you know wont ever come back, but you'll never forget.

It's Your Love is the first Tim and Faith duet on one of Tim's CDs. There is no way that you cant tell these two are in love from the feeling of this great ballad. The organ that permiates the song is that of a 60's rock song, but there's no mistaking the great steel guitar solo in this one.

Aint That the Way That It Always Ends is a very up-tempo rocker about some of the people we meet in our lives that have textbook stories of love gone bad. The way the song is played and sang, it sounds happy, but you cant help but feel a little sorry for the people named within.

I Do But I Dont is a mid-tempo modern country tune about a man who is indecisive about a relationship. This one could be a non-standout track, except for the fact that its the only one like it on the disc. That in itself makes it stand out from the rest in its own way. Great Steel guitar in this one.

One of These Days. This one could be a tear-jerker. This is a soft ballad about a man reflecting on his past, and wanting to take back the bad things he's done. Wanting to be a better person. Realizing finnaly that in order to love others, one must learn to love himself. Beautiful song.

Hard on the Ticker is a honky-tonk style rocker talking about the girl who he might have once though could make him feel younger, but the effects are exactly opposite. Deffinatly a lead guitar and steel guitar driven song.

Everywhere. The album's name-sake for good reason. This song is mid-tempo, sort of Country-Rock. I could hear the Eagles doing this one. Simply about remebering a love that's been lost. Missing her, seeing her everywhere. Instrumentation is top-notch. Tim's Vocals have never owned a song like they do this one.

Just to See You Smile is a mostly acoustic folk - country song about running into the girl that used to love you, and remebering all the things you did for her, and realizing you'd still do them. Just to make her happy. This one was a huge hit for Tim, and once you hear it, you'll understand why.

You Just Get Better All The Time. This one is a very soft ballad. The man here is just proffessing his undying love to the woman he's with. This is one of those songs you could imagine a 70 year old man singing to his wife at their 50th anniversery. It's a very powerful love song.

You Turn Me On is another country rocker about the man who was ready to give up on the whole relationship thing until he met THE woman. He doesnt know what happened, but now all his plans have changed.

Over all, this CD is simply amazing. I've taken many a road trip where I made sure this disc was included in the pile. It's a must.
If you're reading this, you probably know Tim's music... This is no different. If you come into this album expecting to hear the typical great CD by Mr. McGraw, you'll get what you want and more.

Tim is again absolutely fabulous as always. Almost all of these songs were released and played on the radio. There is also a bonus track called "You turn me on". My favorite is "Just to see you smile". You'll be glad you added this one to your collection.

Until "Everywhere", the only CD I could have recommended from McGraw as a solid CD and not just radio hits was his self-titled first, which ironically had no radio hits. However, McGraw bursts onto the scene with this one. From the timeless 'Where the Green Grass Grows' to the fun of 'Hard on the Ticker' and 'You Turn Me On', this is a truly solid CD. I appreciate an artist who can put together a good CD, and from this album on, McGraw does just that. This is a must for any country fan, but especially if you like McGraw.

As a Tim McGraw fan, I try to love all of his music but this is one of my least favorite CDs by McGraw. Ironically, I really love the first two songs on this CD, "Cowboy in Me" and "Telluride"; "Cowboy in Me" has become one of my all-time favorite songs. Nevertheless, after those two songs, the rest of "Set This Circus Down" was mediocre at best - I am not a fan of the songs after track #2. After "Telluride", the songs here sound repeatative and generic; like anyone could have sung them. And there is a very obvious shift in the sound on "Set This Circus Down" compared to some of of McGraw's earlier work, which may bother people.

Get this CD if you are a McGraw fan; if not, you may want to skip this one.

Wow what a wonderful CD. One of my friends gave this to me shortly before my faïence and I broke up. Every song on here spoke to me and I cried freely through most of it. Especially "You get used to somebody", and "Why we said goodbye". That one line "I just had to call you, I had to hear your voice; and tell you still love you, we still have a choice". And "Everything I do leads me back to you". So perfectly described how I felt. Tim has such feeling and emotion in his music. I just have fallen in love with it and can't really put into words how it makes me feel. It's nice to have music that speak directly to my soul. This is just a wonderful CD and the first I've ever owned where I loved EVERY song on it. Most of the time I'll buy a CD for 3, maybe 4 songs. This one I don't have to push the next button ever!! Thank you Mr. McGraw.

The songs on this album are melodic and I like the stories that they tell. I like this particular album better than most of Tim's other albums.

I was a little hesitant to buy an album by a big star. But, this cd is great! All tracks are good. My best is FORGET ABOUT US and the title song. Great sound and production. This would interest country, pop, folk, and rock fans. A CAN'T MISS!

This is Tim McGraw's BEST album yet. I love "Angel Boy", "Cowboy In Me", "Telluride" (since I ski there), "Grown Men Don't Cry" and "Angry all the Time". Of course all the songs are AMAZING, but those are the best. There is not one song on this album that I skip over, which I do A LOT when I listen to other CDs. If you are looking to purchase a Tim McGraw album get this one. Trust me, I have every Tim McGraw album.

5 starts all the way, I think it's Tim Mcgraw's best album of all time!

Arguably Tim McGraw's best album to date (arguably because each one is so stellar-each album from Everywhere forward are neck and neck, albeit each excel in certain areas), a Place in the Sun finds country's greatest ear picking songs at a time he was newly in love and experiencing his greatest success to date.

This album is anchored by a number of outstanding selections (including Carry On, Somebody Must Be Prayin, You Don't Love Me Anymore, My Best Friend), however the album is made by the inclusion of Please Remember Me.

Please Remember Me is, simply, one of the greatest recordings ever made. Counted as one of the greatest 100 country songs ever written, the songs writers were country legend Rodney Crowell and Will Jennings (who wrote My Heart Will Go On for Titanic and Celine Dion). Tims performance manages to express the seemingly opposite emotions of love, forgivness, loss, and hope all at once. This combined with some of the most memorable and touching lyrics I can recall ("the days keep coming without fail" is the most concise expression of how hard it is to go on without someone you love I have ever heard) make it a song for the ages and my all time favorite song.

McGraws strength (no one is better at it) has always been his ability not only to choose great songs, but choose songs he has not written and make them his own so much that its impossible to tell he did not write them. A Place in the Sun excels in this in some way you can't quite put your finger on...for some reason you FEEL the songs just a little bit more than on any of his other albums.

Whatever it is, A Place in the Sun, like most albums, is a moment captured in time and after 6 years of listening it makes sense that, of all the great albums Tim has put out, this is the one that won CMA Album of the Year-this moment was a particularly special one.

Tim began as a traditional country singer as his debut album shows, but he gradually moved into the pop-country market. So although the credits on this album (his fifth) include fiddle and steel guitar, you won't find too much evidence of Tim's roots here. With Please remember me (a Rodney Crowell song) becoming a huge American pop hit, Tim gave clear proof of his appeal to pop audiences. Nevertheless, this is a brilliant album of its type. As ever, Tim's song selection is impeccable. He seems to know exactly what the American public wants and (just as important) what songs suit his voice.

Tim chose not to include any driving up-tempo songs on this album, focusing mainly but not entirely on romantic love songs. The original American edition of this album didn't include any duets with Faith although my UK edition includes one as the only bonus track - a remix version of It's your love.

My favorite track here (My next thirty years) finds Tim hoping to do various things in the future but you know that maybe he's not too serious - we all know how easy to put things off and only end up doing some of them. The title track is typical of the album - reflective and mellow. You might think that the title suggests an upbeat, fun song, but here the place in the sun is something that Tim wishes and hopes for. Another great song is the opening track, The trouble with never - another great song that everybody can relate to. Other great songs include Something like that, My best friend, Seventeen, Eyes of a woman and She'll have you back.

I like Tim's music whatever he sings - whether traditional or contemporary, rousing up-tempo songs or mellow love songs, he has proved his versatility. This mellow pop-country album may not please everybody but if you're into this type of music, it doesn't get much better than this.

Tim McGraw's 1999 album A PLACE IN THE SUN is my favorite album from the country superstar. The songs really resound with me, and I think it's very well done and put together. "Please Remember Me" is a chilling ballad he makes his own, Patty Loveless sounds great on background vocals. In fact, the ballads are really the strongest point of the album. Songs like "Somebody Must Be Prayin For Me", "You Don't Love Me Anymore", "Some Things Never Change", "Eyes of a Woman" and the title track take listeners through various emotions of a man. The uptempos are fun such as "My Next Thirty Years", "Something Like That", "Seventeen" and more. Overall a great album from Tim McGraw!

Tim's first album, a solidly traditional country album, was a flop. His second, rooted in tradition but with a contemporary edge, gave him his breakthrough with Indian outlaw. This album built upon that success and had more of a contemporary sound though it should still appeal to many traditional country fans, though Tim's fourth album (Everywhere, the album that firmly established Tim as a major country star) has much more of a contemporary feel to it.

Tim's voice, a sort of cross between John Anderson and Kenny Rogers, may not appeal to everybody (whether set to contemporary or traditional backing) but I love it. There are many wonderful songs, both ballads and up-tempo. The most instantly memorable song her is the catchy, upbeat song, I like it I love it, while other great songs include All I want is a life and She never lets it get to her heart. Other highlights include I didn't ask and she didn't say, The great divide and Don't mention Memphis.

For those fans that like their country music to at least have some connection with tradition, this may be the last of Tim's albums that they can enjoy. I also like some of his later albums (especially Everywhere) but this is a very enjoyable album.

Though this CD is one of McGraw's older CDs, it is probably the CD of his I listen to most often. Though not every song became a hit, they're all easy to listen to, none that I skip over in my CD player. The first four songs really set up the whole album-- All I Want is a Life, She Never Lets it Go to Her Heart, Can't Be Really Gone, and Maybe We Should Just Sleep on it. One song that most everybody recognizes is the hit "I Like it, I love It". I suggest this CD for any country fan's collection.

This is a real good CD. I bought it cause it was pretty cheap and I like Tim McGraw. I knew that a couple of the songs were good, but when I listened to it I was amazed at how many good songs are on this CD.I listened to this CD all the time back home. I plan on listening to it when I get back too.

Tim McGraw's third album, ALL I WANT, is often forgotten especially in light of more popular ones, but it's a great album start to finish. Some really memorable singles came from this album, including the title track, the moving ballad "Can't Be Really Gone", the uptempo country flavored "I Like It, I Love It", and my personal favorite "Maybe We Should Just Sleep On It". This album definately continued the trend of his previous NOT A MOMENT TOO SOON in spinning off hit singles from each album, making him the superstar he is today. Other highlights among this albums songs include the rowdy "Renegade" and the ballad "She Never Lets It Go To Her Heart". Don't miss this one!

I have listened to Tim McGraw since I was little. But the only song I knew from him then was I like, I love it. I found his CD "All I want." In the store last night and I picked it up and I decided to buy it. I'm sure glad that I did buy it! Because this CD is a very good CD of his! There is no bad songs on this CD, not one! And this is a CD I can listen to without skipping any tracks. I think the best songs are, She never lets it go to her heart, When she wakes up (And Finds me gone) and I like, I love it. ;) If you don't have this CD now, I suggest that you buy this CD today! It's the best!
