Tina Turner is simply THE BEST!! This cd has every song you want to hear. She never ceases to amaze me. It is incredible that she is still performing and totally engages the crowd when she does her show. This cd will not disappoint.

I really think that the re mastering is great, but anyway we really need new Tina Turner's songs.

I did not attend her most recent concert, and I usually feel that adds to the flavor of the CD. As such, I was a bit disappointed with this CD. Her voice wasn't in best form, but she is 68, and looks so amazing! The songs did not have interesting background and I thought little was added to prior renditions of her music.

I received the CD, however it is scratched from tract 14 on. Now I can't say it was sent to me this way. But just wanted to make you aware of this.

TINA! is a great collection for the beginner Tina Turner fan. I have a lot of the older stuff that she did with Ike and so I wanted something more from her solo career.

This CD was just perfect. You get her monster solo hits from the 80s "Private Dancer," "What's Love Got To Do With It," "Better Be Good To Me," and "We Don't Need Another Hero." And you get "GoldenEye" from the 90s.

Also included are older standards that Tina did with Ike like "River Deep-Mountain High" (this is the Phil Spector version), "Proud Mary" (this version is from the cover version from What's Love Got To Do With It soundtrack), and "Nutbush City Limits."

The song "The Acid Queen" from The Who's rock opera Tommy (Superbit Collection) sounds different than the one that was on The Ike & Tina Turner Story [3CD]. I'm not sure if it was redone or if there was a single version (and which is which), but it still rocks!

Anyway, I love Miss Tina and this is a great starter or intro to this first lady of rock.

What can one say about a great artist. She does not seem to age. Saw her in a concert here in California....almost 2 hours of non-stop excitement. This album brings it all back to me.....great lady!

I bought this cd for my husband because it has all the hits he loves plus more. I highly recommend this CD for a Tina Turner fan.

Contains my favorite two: Private Dancer and What's love got to do with it. I did not like the other songs.

I will never forget 1984 when Tina Turner, Bruce Springsteen and Cyndi Lauper were all playing on my stereo. A Great collection from Tina.

I was so happy to see Tina Turner and Cher on The Oprah Winfrey Show. I remember seeing Tina Turner on Cher's Variety show in the 1970's. And then to learn that Tina Turner will be touring again, and that Cher is in Las Veges at Caesars Palace (I saw Cher at Caesars Palace in 1979, a Great Show) --These three strong women kind of reminded me of another strong woman; Hillary Clinton. Did you know that after all the 2008 Presidential Primary votes were counted and certified, Hillary Clinton earned more votes than any of her rivals, and more votes than any other Presidential Primary candidate in history?

Tina Turner is absolutely the Queen of Rock and Roll!! Her album is "simply the best, better than all the rest!"

Most of my favorite tunes by Tina are on this and it is "Simply the Best".

This album contains some of the most influential, well known songs of the dance era. Her powerful voice is one that has been copied by many, although most often, unsuccessfully. I put this album in when I need a little boost, or when I'm working out (yeah, right).

Great collection of songs from multiple Grammy winner Tina Turner (also, with ex-husband Ike Turner, in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame) Forty Eight years ago, on August 29, 1960, Ike and Tina Turner hit 'The Billboard Hot 100' with 'A Fool In Love' which reached #27, Tina Turner's success has continued, just like Hillary Clinton's, who in the 2008 Presidential Primary race received more votes than any of her rivals, and more votes than any other Presidential Primary candidates in history.

I love this CD. I keep it in my car and it is such a mood pick-me-upper. I play it and sing and dance while I drive and just SMILE!!! She is so terrific, and every single song makes it impossible to sit still.

The songs on this in my opinion are not Tina's best songs. They are just ok.

this album is absolutely amazing, I couldn't go without listening to this, it really represents the movie without even having to watch it. I would reccomend buying this without a doubt.

It's bad enough to have the poorly chosen actors trying to sing but to have insanely bad performances from the likes of Eric Clapton and Pete Townshend is unacceptable. What were they trying to do ? Dumb down to Jack Nicolson's singing ? At least Roger Daltrey sings the best of his career here. Really, he is the only reason to see the movie or listen to this tripe. Why and how did Pete manage to mangle 'Amazing Journey' and 'Sparks' so horribly ? And Clapton must have been going through withdrawals while singing 'Eyesight To the Blind.' Oh yeah - Elton does a great job. But skip this until the very end of your Who related purchases. Please.

Pete Townshend's classic performed by The Who, Tina Turner, Eric Clapton Elton John, Ann-Margaret, and Jack Nicholson. Doesn't get much better than that! The movie is awesome too.

First things first: (1) You're truly a Classic Rock fanatic, (2) You're a crazy Soundtrack collector, (3) You like classic Rock bands playing their best tunes with other Classic Rock monsters = You will love this album!

Certainly, it could appear quite strange to give a good comment on a Classic Rock masterwork (The Who's "Tommy" is a classic, no doubt about it!) on which the original composers/performers (i.e. The Who) play the tunes with other great musicians/performers (Elton John, Tina Turner and Eric Clapton are all here!). All together with non-musical superstars like Ann-Margret and Jack Nicholson...

The final product may sound a little bit 'eclectic', but it certainly will satisfy most of Classic Rock/Soundtracks fans! However, please be warned: if by any chance you get the European edition of this album (Dutch?), it may sound a little bit 'opaque' (just like if it had been recorded on a very old and sworn cassette tape).

Okay, I'll admit it, I had the LP back in the day and really don't care all that much for most of it, but I upgraded to a CD of it anyway just for one song. I love the film version of "Sparks" so much I couldn't help myself. What a trip!

If you are a Tina Turner fan, this is the album for you. I only wish I had a video of this live concert in Europe. There is not a bad song on this two CD album. Turner's rendition of "Help" is worth the price of admission. Not only is this album great to listen to, but equally great to exercise to--you will truly move!

'Tina Live' (in Europe)was recorded just a year or two after I saw her perform almost exactly the same material (without the very famous duet partners, Eric Clapton, David Bowie, Robert Cray, and Bryon Adams). And even though the performance I saw was at a very ordinary venue (Allentown PA fairgrounds), Miss Tina gave every bit as good a performance as she does on this album recorded in London.

And this should be no big surprise, as Tina Turner has been making a big impression on the stange for decades. I can still remember the reviews of the 1970 Rolling Stones tour where it was said that their leadin act, the Ike and Tina Turner Revue almost stole the show from 'The Greatest Rock and Roll Band in the World'.

It's even ironic that when we saw Tina at the end of her biopic, 'What's Love Got to Do With It', we thought that this was a rare case where the subject of a film biography literally outshone the actor (Angela Basset) who played the part on the screen.

I also happen to be writing this as I listen to a Barbra Streisand concert album, and in spite of my being a Streisand fan from the release of her very first album, I find that Miss Tina puts on a show which simply blows Babs off the map. To be fair, Streisand puts a whole lot more nuance into her interpretations, but for stage presence, Tina carries the day.

I'm a big fan of Tina Turner and besides having her cd's I also have some of her live videos. And if you haven't seen Tina on stage, I have to tell you that you're missing an electrifying experience.

After touring for 4 years with sold out shows. Tina released this production in 1988 after the impact of "Private dancer" and her 1986 hit album "Break every rule".
"Tina live in Europe" cointains her biggest hits live as a solo singer (without Ike) and it also contains duets with: David Bowie, Eric Clapton, Bryan Adams and Robert Gray. There's a section on cd2 where Tina sings old classics such as "A change is gonna come" and "Midnight hour".
Tina delivers her best in songs like: "Help", "Let's stay together", "Two people", "A change is gonna come" and other ballads. But she also rocks with songs like: "Show some respect", "Proud Mary", "Typical male", "Addicted to love" (a classic on Tina's concerts) and "Better be good to me".

Tina's tour was worldwide but besides her incredible success of "Private dancer". In 1986 and 1987 Tina had an amazing hit in Europe with her "Break every rule" album and because of that an her early solo years. Tina felt that Europe was always there for her and this cd was a gift for her European fans.

This album won a Grammy in 1989 and sold millions in Europe and Asia, but in the U.S it only reached #88 in the Hot 200.
Part of this tour was her Guiness Records record of 1988 when she sang in Rio in front of 182,000 people at the Maracana stadium.

I hate to think what most performers today would sound like on a live album. Ugh! Fortunatley, we have Tina Turner here to show us how a live album should be done. As you listen to this set, you can almost see yourself at the various shows recorded here, with such amazing sound and precision. No matter if some songs are obviously from more than just her Break Every Rule Tour. They all rock. This woman personifies rock-and-roll more than any other female rock singer. The sound is great, obviously much attention was paid to the sound recording of this album, and it certainly paid off! This set stands as tribute to the incredible courage, determination, and pure talent of this unique lady. Just sit back, slip one of the two discs in your CD player, and enjoy!

Tina's 1988 European performance is spectacular, with a 2 CD set. (Though I believe some of the songs were performed a few years earier.) CD 1, approx. 66: 53, is a collection of her hits from the beginning to the present date. Her strong voice sizzles from beginning with "What you get is what you see," and wrapping it up with her rock n' roll anthem "Show some respect." CD 2, approx 60:33, continues with great duets with Robert Cray (In the midnight hour," "634-5789," Guitar solo on "A change is gonna come"), Eric Clapton (Tearing us apart"), David Bowie ("Tonight," "Let's Dance"), and Bryan Adams (It's only love"). Then closing with the destiny sound of "Paridise is here." Inside is a booklet is a letter about the trip and concerts by Tina, as well as beautiful pictures. I know that I've seen some of these performances on her "Break every rule" video-which is great. I guess my Mom was right on 1 thing that's great about Tina, that she don't hold nothing back, she performs, she gives it all she's got. And this collection proves that. Bravo!

I was thrilled when this reissue was released with the 12" version of the hits. The 12" of What's Love Got To Do With It is fantastic, with that unique, special intro--I always thought that maybe the song was actually recorded this way and then edited down for the LP release, because this isn't just an 'extended' version looping specific parts of the song like 12" versions did at that time, but actually original material added to the original version.

My only gripe is the fact that the 12" version of Better Be Good to Me, running just over 7 minutes, has edited about 30-40 seconds off the original 12" version!!! As of this writing, this 12" mix has never appeared on CD in its full running time!

It would be great if Tina's two 80s follow-up LPs would also be reissued on CD with all the 12" versions as bonus tracks.

Gosh - I cannoit tell you how often we played this one when it first came out. Every single song is clearly etched in my mind. I love this album. I even remember watching Tina at the MTV and Grammy awards that year. Well deserving of all the praise, this is a classic. Extended remix of I Can't Stand the Rain = Flawless.

I can't believe I have never reviewed this album before now. When this came out I was just starting to discover the club scene. As a kid in the 70's in small town America we all knew who Tina was, as she was considered kind of a has been. All of a sudden this album came out, and I would turn my radio on a 6 in the morning to get ready for work and the first single was Let's Stay Together. Well, I looked forward to hearing this song every morning. And then I would hit the clubs at night and they started playing What's Love Got to Do With It. I was mesmerized by Tina from then on. I actually bought the LP and wore it out. Then the cassette and remember blaring this album in my 76 Regal while cruising. Finally bought the cd, and it will always be one of my favorite albums of all time. I Might Have Been Queen should also have been a single. Tina will go down as my favorite singer of the era, and it's due to her soulful singing on this album!

I like Tina Turner but this CD is not one of her best. Several of her numbers may have been exciting live but they do not translate to audio.

DONT BUY it from AMAZON! I got burned, I bought what was supposed to be the new delux edition and what I received was the original CD release. I'd rather buy items like this from official stores instead of Amazon after that hell of an experience. Over-all, its a great album

A solid collection of blues with the Ike and Tina soul. The couple take us trough a musical journey of stunning interpretations of standard blues numbers going back to Ike's roots.

Ike and Tina's later work would eclipse these recordings, but they really shouldn't be overlooked. This may well be the best material either one of them ever recorded.

If you're a blues fan you'll appreciate this collection.

A year before climbing into the top-40 with "I Want to Take You Higher," and two-years before attaining rock immortality with their 1971 cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Proud Mary," Ike Turner produced a pair of albums, "Outta Season" and "The Hunter," that he leased to Bob Krasnow's recently founded Blue Thumb records. Turner had been self-producing sessions throughout his career, fanning out the results to a variety of labels, including several of his own imprints, in an effort to keep fresh material in the stores as he toured with the Ike & Tina Turner Revue. For this pair of releases he reached back to his beginnings as a blues musician, selecting titles from T-Bone Walker, Lowell Fulson, Robert Johnson and Jimmy Reed, and adding just a few originals. Sung by Tina Turner in a bluesy wail that's sadly familiar with love gone very, very wrong, many of the tracks are arranged without the backing singers or horns of the Revue, but decorated generously with Ike Turner's twangy guitar riffs and leads.

The sparse settings show off both Turners in a stark light that their frenetic hits with the Revue rarely captured. Ike Turner is offered here primarily as a lead and rhythm guitarist, and Tina Turner creates emotionally informed first-person vocals from standard blues progressions. Highlights include a chillingly distraught rendition of Otis Redding's "I've Been Loving You Too Long," the bedspring guitar twang on "Five Long Years" and the original instrumental "Grumbling," the Motown vibe given Sonny Boy Williamson's "Crazy About You Baby," Tina Turner's sassy holler on Lowell Fulson's "Reconsider Baby," her strutting, self-assured reading of "The Hunter," and a terrifically convincing take on Don Robey's "I Smell Trouble." The albums' biggest commercial success was the funky soul workout "Bold Soul Sister," which reached #22 on the soul charts and crossed over to #69 pop. Both Turners show a deep connection to the blues, both as the roots of their soul sides with the Revue, and particularly in Tina Turner's case, a very personal expression of her life's troubles.

Acrobat's anthology cherry-picks 18 of the combined albums' 22 tracks, replicating most of the selections on the out-of-print Bold Soul Sister, but falling short of Blue Moon's import two-fer (which, to be fair, is twice the price of this set for only four more tracks). Blame U.S. royalty rules for the disparity in track counts. More notably absent is the Grammy-winning album cover of Outta Season, which famously depicts the Turners in whiteface eating watermelon - a visual complaint about white musicians cashing in on the blues while many of the genre's originators struggled for recognition. The audio quality of these masters is excellent, with plenty of presence in the vocals and detail in the instruments. New liner notes provide a concise history of Ike & Tina Turner's musical career and brief context for these specific recordings. This was Tina's first album of new material in seven years, and it really stands out as a first-rate album. Just exactly why it really went nowhere is a complete mystery. Again overseas, it was huge, with many massive hits. Here in the States, it disappeared. One could blame her record company for not promoting it well, or radio for not playing it, I really don't know. I do know, however, that this is a great disc. Her cover of "Missing You" is incredible. She seems to spit out her scorn for who has done her wrong in the lyrics of this song, and makes it her own in the process. For sheer sexiness, "In Your Wildest Dreams" is SO awesome. The song also features the late, great Barry White in a co-lead singing spot, and it really works well. The rest of the album has a romantic, edgy feel that is so fresh for Tina, and it seems she had a ball doing it. The James Bond theme, "Goldeneye" is on this disc, and it actually fits in the scheme of the album surprisingly well, as most movie songs stand out like a sore thumb on albums not directly attached to a movie project. Overall, Ms. Turner is in fine form vocally, and the album has a great feel to it. It does stand as one of her best overall efforts, and is well worth getting.

Turner's discography has been held to the standard of the amazing 1984 comeback record "Private Dancer" since it's release. While efforts such as 1987's "Break Every Rule" & 1989's "Foreign Affair" came close, no gold in breaking the rule of "Private Dancer" being de-throned as Tina's best solo album.

Then, in 1996 "Wildest Dreams" came along. Now, while ironically this was Tina's most disappointing commercial record in the States, overseas this record would soar well beyond double-platinum status. With commericiality aside, "Wildest Dreams" to me ranks as Tina's finest record in her post-"Private Dancer" catalogue. It is uniform, cohesive, yet there are the elements of sass, romance, & Tina's soulful voice that make this record standout.

Clearly, living in Europe for over a decade had worn off on Tina. While she hinted at this on the look of the predecessor to this album, "Foreign Affair", with pictures of Tina in French cafe's & a such; the record was an American pop/rock record. Here, while you could at first say this a typical "American R&B" album, upon closer inspection, there is a loose, romantic European sheen woven throughout the whole album. It's mood is very European. From the vintage black & white cover with Tina wearing a short skirt & black jacket, to the fashionable approach the record takes.

This is due to the produers, some of Europe's finest, who helmed the project. From Nellee Hooper, the Pet Shop Boys, U2's Bono, all help "Wildest Dreams" shine.

The title track is a steamy duet with the late-Barry White, which has to be heard to really enjoy. The duet seems fresh, sensual, & over a cool ambitious melodic riff & creeping beat, sizzles. Other highlights include the theme to Bond film "Goldeneye" (one of my favorite Bond themes!) which finds Tina getting brassy, "Confidential" is simple Euro-pop at it's finest. This cut finds Tina just relaxed, giving a cool, almost detached delivery, until the chorus where the emotion of being involved with someone who won't be open with a relationship overtakes Tina.

Tina's vocals are in perfect shape as demonstrated on the soul workout of "Whatever You Want" & an awesome cover of 1980's pop staple "Missing You" which starts off quiet, then explodes with Tina's voice & the arrangement follows suit.

I had previously bought "Twenty Four Seven", this album's follow-up first, this record blows that out of the water. "Wildest Dreams" is Tina at her most soulful, sensual, & fun. Highly recommend to any music fan.

"Wildest Dreams" in my opinion is the most amazing album of Tina Turner's history. The full powered and emotional "Missing You", her big hit off the album. "In Your Wildest Dreams" was definetly one of Tina's sexier songs on the album. A song she almost was embarresed to sing, but as her quote "I normally would of been embarresed to sing this song but I am doing it now because it is now". "Whatever You Want" starts out a sensous song but turns into an extreme racket, the music video for this song is the most incredible laser-effects that I have ever seen. "Do What You Do" was written by the same man who wrote Tina's smash hit "What's Love Got To Do With It". In an exclusive interview on the "Wildest Dreams Tour" DVD Tina tells us how this man always gets her to do these very different types of songs. "Thief Of Hearts" is just such a fun song that you could listen to and sing along to every single time that you heard it. "On Silent Wings" a very peaceful song from the different rackety songs before it. The song "Something Beutiful Remains is the song that Tina did not want to do that much at all, but however the song was actually part of the 12:00 minute "Dancing In My Dreams". "Confidential" was a very quiet song. "All Kinds Of People" was sung with Sheryll Crow (I beleive) as a backup singer, because Tina says that Sheryll still has that little innocent voice (this was in '96, now she is definetly no little innocent voice). Tina looked at her upcoming album that was going to be released and took that song off of it because she believed that an older person should be singing it. "Unfinished Sympathy" is definetly one of the absolute best song on the album and probably the easiest to remeber lyrics to. The song was mainly 2 verses with the first 2 lines being something different on each verse going straight into "You really hurt me baby, you really cut me baby". And then the "soul without a mind" part. I don't know if the whole pleasure of the song is its simplicity. "Goldeneye" is what began the production of this whole album, Tina was chosen to do the theme of the James Bond movie "Goldeneye" and was absolutley perfect doing it. It also is an amzing act in the "Wildest Dreams Tour, Live In Amsterdam" DVD. "Dancing In My Dreams" was about a black and white relationship. A very slow song.l The true ending to this album is a extended remix of "Something Beutiful Remains" This album is simply the one and only best!!

Wildest Dreams has to be one of her best post-Private Dancer era albums. The album does have a pop/ Euro dance feel to it on most songs. But Tina really pulls it off on here! I still like the sexy Wildest Dreams with Barry White. Whatever You Want sounds good. Her remake of John Waite's Missing YOu is nice. I like the techno-dance Thief of Hearts. One of the surprises here is Silent Wings with Sting---both singers sound fabulous here. And Tina still continues to do some great songs with longtime songwriters/producers Terry Britten and Graham Lyle, people behind her '84 comeback, What's Love Got To Do WIth It?Tina just sounds fabulous through 63 minutes of this album! Oprah Winfrey just used one of her song titles as a theme for her current season, Wildest Dreams come true. She still has that song playing in the background on some of her shows, so 8 years since its 1996 release, it's still a well remembered song from that album. It makes this album have a much stronger and sturdier life span just like Private Dancer did in the '80s. Some of Tina's best music in her career!

In the 1980's, the now legendary success story of Tina Turner made her one of the biggest female recording artists ever. Her days of loneliness with Ike were over, and she now back on track, with multi-million selling albums such as "Private Dancer," "Break Every Rule" and "Foreign Affair." A greatest hits collection, "Simply The Best" followed in 1991, with the soundtrack to the autobiographical movie on Tina's troubled life, "What's Love Got To Do With It?"

Fans were left eagerly awaiting Tina's latest release - her first album of brand new songs in seven years. It arrived in September 1996, and was called "Wildest Dreams." The album has experienced moderate success in America, but big sales have been achieved in Europe where Tina is by far at her most famous. The album produced many Top 10 hits and further proved that - now in her 60's - Tina Turner is still a rock legend and a true force to be reckoned with.

Wildest Dreams opens with the fantastic song "Missing You." This cover-version is absolutely fantastic, and Tina's vocals are very impressive. Heavy guitars and drums are added to awesome effect and violin strikes towards the end are particularly enjoyable. A fantastic Tina classic. "In My Wildest Dreams" is another highlight. There is only one word to describe this song - sexy! Tina's vocals are gravely and husky in such a mysterious tone, and the beat is deep and moody. The lyrics are equally intense, and a vocal guest appearance from Antonio Banderas spices things up even further. With "Whatever You Want," Tina goes back to her hardcore rock roots by pumping out this absolutely amazing power ballad and sings to her lover, telling him that whatever he wants, he can have. "Do What You Do" is a pure pop dance number. An infectious beat dominates the song, and Tina's incredible vocals twist around the arrangement perfectly.

"Thief Of Hearts" is a brilliant dance number in which Tina hits the disco floor and belts out a fantastic song about loving guys, giving them what they want, and running away while stealing their hearts. "On Silent Wings" is a wonderful mid-tempo ballad which will relax any listener. Tina's vocals are once more on top form, and the beat is very open and beautiful. You can imagine Tina stood on a mountain top singing this song, because it has such an excellent melody. "Something Beautiful Remains" is an average song on this album. It's not the best song, but it's good enough with some great lyrics and a mysterious beat. "Confidential" is another highlight. Penned by the Pet Shop Boys, the song is about Tina telling her lover that she can keep anything confidential if he indeed confides in her. The melody is relaxing and tranquil, and Tina's voice is smooth and silky.

"The Difference Between Us" is not featured on my version of this album, so I cannot comment on it. "All Kinds Of People" is a wonderful mid-tempo song about the various races in the world, and how everyone is equal. A real quality power anthem. Tina's cover-version of Massive Attack's "Unfinished Sympathy" isn't as good as the original version, but it's a worthy effort. "Goldeneye," the theme from the James Bond film of the same name, is another album highlight. Tina's trademark husky vocals make this song sizzle, and the traditional strings of a Bond theme are also present. "Dancing In My Dreams" is an excellent ballad in which Tina sings about dancing in her dreams. There isn't much of a beat, but the drums make for a heavenly kind of image in the brain.

OVERALL GRADE: 9/10

Wildest Dreams is not Tina Turner's best album, but it does come very close to being so. It seems that at present, Tina Turner is taking a well-deserved break after a hectic 40 years in the music business. The woman deserves all her success and the fact that her record sales are fast approaching 100 million is something to be very proud of. Wildest Dreams is the kind of album that you can put on to chill out or relax to. It's definitely not a party album, but it's not meant to be. Buy it now and experience this legend.

She has always been great and this album holds a very good compilation of songs!

This compilation of songs hits every era of Tina's career and it is simply the best CD ever!@!

I received my CD in perfect condition and in less time I was told. I really recommend buying through Amazon, which is secure and they really made me feel confident, so I will surely be making my shopping only at AMAZON.

Tina Turner is one of Rock Music's most influential acts ever and this collection takes on her comeback material which was high-lighted by her big comeback project "Private Dancer" and the many songs that were hits off that Project especially "What's love got to do with it and others. these 18 tracks are Good and compliment Tina's talents very well.

I love this CD. I think all greatest hit CDs are good but this one seems to have all of the songs that I like to listen to.

Well, this is a great collection. And I am one of Tina's biggest fan...of my 19 years walking this earth, 16 of those were walked to the sound of Tina...

However, this collection seems an attempt at a complete collection. Which, as said, it kind of achieves, in that its the most complete so far.

But I think for us die hard fans, there needs to be a Complete Solo Recordings CD containing all that she has recorded since her break up with Ike.

Something I have long wanted on Disc is the version of One Of The Living that appears in Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome.
The version on the soundtrack is great - as the song is awesome, but in the films opening credits, there is a quite different mix. Both mixes need to be out. As is the same with many of her songs: there needs to be a complete collection featuring all the different mixes.
And why is Break Every Rule always left off her collections? I think its one of her best tracks.

So overall: this is the best you can buy.
But it could be better - complete it Capitol - give us every record...please

The reason why I titled this review like this is because this collection could have been much, much better.
This Collection was released in 1994 and contains her early years hits with her ex husband Ike Turner, some rare recordings and Tina's solo hits.

*DISC 1 (Ike and Tina):
This cd contains the collection of Ike and Tina's hits and some of their best recordings. This goes from 1960 to 1975.
Their biggest hits were "A fool in love", "It's gonna work out fine", "I idolize you" and "Proud Mary". "Nutbush city limits" and "River deep-mountain high" were recorded during the Ike and Tina years but were official Tina singles.
Together they recorded several albums and singles but they were just big on stage. With this I'm not saying that they were bad, they were very good, they even won a Grammy in 1971 and toured in Europe with the Rolling Stones and alone but it didn't work very well in the charts.
On this cd you can also find some covers that were moderate hits like "Come together", "I've been loving you too long", and "Honky tonk women".
I also really like "I want to take you higher" and "Crazy 'bout you bay".

*DISC 2 (Tina's rare recordings):
On this cd you'll find some songs that were recorded for soundtracks, various albums, live songs, duets and even demos that Tina recorded to get music deals after she broke with Ike Turner.
The opening track "Acid queen" was specially recorded for Tina's part in "Tommy", "Total control" appears in the "We are the world" album, "It's only love" (I don't know why this song is here because it was a very big hit that she recorded with Bryan Adams so it should be in disc 3), "Don't turn around" is a wonderful song that she recorded for her "Break every rule" album but it only appeared as the B side of her "Typical male" single. Finally you'll find "Addicted to love" a song that Tina has been singing sience 1986 on stage. And the duets with Eric Clapton and Rod Stewart "Tearing as apart" and "It takes two".

*DISC 3 (Tina's hits sience 1983):
This disc contains Tina's hits but some are missing and others like "Help" and "Paradaise is here" which are great songs but were not big singles are here, leaving behind "One of the living", "Two people", "I don't wanna lose you", "Show some respect" and "Way of the world" which were big hits.
The great hits that are here are: "Let's stay together", "What's love got to do with it", "Private dancer", "Better be good to me", "We don't need another hero", "Typical male", "The best" and "I don't wanna fight".

In general this collection is good but they should do a real collection with all the hits and more rare songs and even songs that were not released as singles but are great recordings.

I love this set so much it is the perfect set for a tina addict

When Capitol records announced the release of "collected recordings" at the end of 1994, I was really thrilled. They said it would be a three disc collection. Disc one would focus on the Ike and Tina days, Disc Two would have RARE Tina recordings and disc 3 would be Tina's solo greatest hits. I think the collection starts great with the Ike and Tina disc. It's a good compilation of the duo starting with "Fool in love" from 1960 and including their greatest hits and also some songs which have been not easy to find over the last years ( for example "Letter from Tina" and "It ain't right Loving to be loving" from their 1969 album "Come together" ). What disappoints me about this collection is especially disc 2. This is suposed to be a disc with rarities, but what we get is not that rare at all. Only two songs on this disc I consider rare and these are "Games" and "Johnny and Mary". What about her b-sides "Don't rush the good things", "Don't turn around" ( later covered by Ace of Base and Aswad ), Stronger than the wind,... + their must be tons of Tina recordings which have never been released before...Maybe capitol is saving them for future releases.... The booklet also mentions her 1985 single "One of the living" taken from the Mad Max soundtrack, but it's not on the disc. Also on disc three some of her greatest hits are missing. Where are "Two People", "Girls", "Break every Rule", "I don't wanna lose you", "Show some respect",... This collection is a nice effort, but definately not the Ultimate Tina Turner collection. I think Capitol/EMI should consider putting together a new collection and make it MINIMUM a 5 disc set, because Tina's been doing what she does best for over 40 years now ! You can't get the picture of her career on three discs...

Could a Tina fan/addict ask for more? A wonderful 3-CD box full of great songs plus a wonderful booklet... A MUST FOR EVERY TINA FAN OUT THERE !!!!!!!!!!!! BUY IT...NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
