I thank Tyrese is cool, but on the other hand this album sucks. It did not live up to the hype. The only good song on the entire album was " How you gonna act like that."I try to look for the good points to this album, and I did not find any. I'm not hating just calling it the way I see it.

TYRESE IS A VERY TALENTED ARTIST AND HAS NEVER DISSAPOINTED ME.I'V BEEN FOLLOWING THIS DUDES CAREER SINCE 1997 WHEN HE MADE HIS FIRST TV DEBUTE WITH THE COKA COLA COMMERCIAL.YOU CAN NOT GO WRONG BY PURCHASING ANY OF HIS ALBUMS.SOME OF MY FAVORITES ON THIS ALBUM ARE GETTO GIRLS,FEELN KINDA RIGHT TONIGHT AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST THESE ARE THE SIGNS OF LOVE MAKN.JUST TO NAME A FEW.THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THAT I HAVE PURCHASED THIS ALBUM AND I CAN'T SAY ANYTHING WRONG ABOUT THIS YOUNG MAN.

Took me so long to actually get to hear this album and I think it's solid. At least it's better than 2000 Watts.

Well this is another album thats alot like his first. Besides the first six-seven tracks there is really nothing to this album. And even those first few tracks are not flawless, but they saved this album from being horrible. I mean no one can down "How You Gonna Act Like That", but then alot of it goes downhill. I mean the last six songs besides "Kinna Right" which i will be the first to admit is a phenominal baby making track, are all garbage, all of the last six songs are complete and utter garbage. I mean the title track itself is horrible... how could you do a song that bad, let alone name the album after that track. But there are a few highlights. "She Lets Me Be A Man" is one of those summer tracks that you play when you are out driving. And then the amazing production of "Somebody Special" makes it that baby maker. The guitar in the intro to that track is priceless. But other than those songs and his smash single, there is not a whole lot else here to offer, besides alot of filler. But those few select tracks really saved this album. Still a dissapointment though compared to 2000 Watts, but if you really like tyrese i would reccomend buying it.

I purchased this CD a second time because the 1st one I purchased started to skip. I liked this CD better than his first one.

If Tyrese sticks to being an r&b artist I feel he could have a long and strong career but not so much as a rapper. I enjoy songs on his r&b disc such as "One", "Come Back To Me Shawty", "Better To Know", and "Signs Of Love Makin' Part II", this is where he shines, but on his rap disc it was mostly your average filler and a million guest appearances that really add nothing worth listening to, I only liked "Roses" and the Outro track of "Alter Ego". Do music fans a favor Tyrese and stick to being an r&b artist, doing that Black Ty stuff is just gonna bring flack.

Bought this for the wife when it dropped. She had the last CD and this one by far is better..really can't spk for the rap side as I just don't believe in Tyrese as a rapper. Maybe its unfair to not give the rap side an honest listen, but hey it's my CD. In any event, this is a must have for Tyrese fans and R&B fans who like a little edgier(??) and real talk CD, not cheesy at all, can't really say there was any filler to this CD (I can't stand songs for the sake of songs on a CD!!). Seems as though his maturity as an artist is showing thru on this CD. Good job to you Tyrese.

Ok lets get this out of the way 1st, the second disc isn't that good. Its hip hop and not really particularly good hip hop. But who buys a Tyrese album to listen to hip hop anyway??
So on to the 1st CD...... Who on earth said this cd has no standout tracks???? If you like slow jams this cd has not just one or two good ones, the whole disc is packed with them!!

His voice is second to none and the above songs are just my favorites, the others are also good. But seriously this is one of my favorite albums along with Donell Jones' Where i wanna be and Dru Hill's Dru World Order.

Get it!! Or at least listen to the songs 1st and make your own mind up.

I really dont know why so many people ragged on this album. There is alot to be said about it thats for sure. But in my opinion i think it was almost as good as 2000 Watts. I mean the R&B album on Alter Ego alone could win a grammy. Even though it only lasts ten tracks. But it is still his best R&B music to date, but thats only if you grade the R&B disc by itself. Because even though i do think that Tyrese can flow with his rapping game, i dont think he did this album right. I think it would have been smarter to do a whole R&B album with a few rap tracks scattered in the mix. Cause like i said, his R&B songs this time around are flawless. But with the Rap disc, i believe he should have tried to stick with tracks similar to the Kanye West type of beat on "Roses", which could have easily been a Kanye track. I mean "Roses" is a really good rap track, along with the smooth melodic Game assisted "Ghetto Dayz" which will be that summer jam being blasted out of car windows. On "Ghetto Dayz" you can really tell that Black Ty is speaking from expieriences. You can really feel his flow on that track and he did a good job with the writing. And Game really killed that track to. But those are really the only two standouts on the rap disc. And the thing about the rap disc is i think he went a bit far with the whole "Black Ty" thing. I mean, Tyrese is one of my favorite artists of all time, but i think that the whole Black Ty thing was overboard just a little bit. The man can flow, i wont deny that, but just try to not be so gangsta with it next time around, and give us more R&B. Speaking of R&B though, that disc is flawless. The single "One" could possibly be his best single ever, its one of those songs that just makes you wanna sing. And then there is the heart wrenching "Come Back To Me Shawty" which he really lets his vocals ring on this track which is a good thing. And then there is the Johnta' Austin written "Gotta Get You" which is that story of man putting everything into a relationship but she still manages to push him away, which everyone can relate to in some way. And then there is the R.Kelly produced "Hurry Up" which is one of the many baby making tracks on this disc, and it has that R.Kelly signature raindrop beat. I mean like i said the R&B disc is Tyreses best work to date, and you can play the disc all the way through. Overall the album as a whole is good, but if he would have choosen a few other rap tracks instead of the hardcore gangsta one and made some more mellow beats that would have been good, or if he would have made a whole R&B album with some rap tracks mixed in that would haven been cool to. Buy it if not for the rap, you have to get the R&B disc because it is truly flawless. BUY IT!

I really liked disc one. It's worth the price alone and I wish he had more than 10 tracks on it. I agree his rapping isn't great, but it's not horrible either. Disk 1 alone is one of the best R&B on a single album i've heard in a while. Keep it up Tyrese. Black Ty can make a few cameos in the future but no full albums!

Heres my only problem with this album it all sounds the same. I mean in general its a good sound cause tyrese definetly has a good voice. But you start to notice after like the first five-six tracks it all sounds the same and it starts to get very boring. I mean i cant deny the uncontrolably sexy "Sweet Lady", and the mezmerizing "Lately", and on occasion "Nobody Else" sounds good but other than those three tracks, there is very few good songs. But i cant take away from Ty cause he has a very good voice, and no one can deny that. But i can say this album is just average, and he really does nothin truely speacial with his first outing. I think in the future if he works with better producers, and some better writers, he could definetly bennefit. And i think he could make some unstoppable music, that everyone could enjoy. But thats not the role this album plays, this album plays his "Rookie Mistake". Like i said its not horrible, but it could have been a whole lot better. But not that bad for a debut album. Next one will be better, i am putting my money on Tyrese in the future because he got the vocals, just needs to tighten up the rest of his game and he will be good to go.

Tyrese first burst onto the scene doing that Coca Cola commerical and then he released his first CD. The CD featured two classic slow jams Lately and the sure fire winner Sweet Lady.

Tyrese debut album was off the hook. His lyrics made sense it wasnt ghetto. I t was cool melow rb music. Just press play. U can listen to it straight without skipping a song. I enjoyed this cd and the other cds he has made wasnt that great it was ok but his first one was the best . So go cop this cd you wont be dissapointed even your parents will like it, classy r&b music.

Tyrese might be acting in motion pictures now but he definately had some talent as a singer. This CD was great especially the song "Sweet lady"

1. How You Gonna Act Like That? - An all-time high for Tyrese. This song is R&B perfection. 5/5
2. Nobody Else - I think this was a single too. This song is very solid but it's not my favorite. Kinda gets repetitive even before the rap. 4/5
3. Sweet Lady - The first song that Tyrese sang to us, in the form of a single. It was big back in the day, and is solid to this day. 4/5
4. I Like Them Girls - Nice mid-tempo for the summer. 4/5
5. Taking Forever - When did this come out and why is it on Super Hits? Oh well. It's OK. 3.75/5
6. Get Up on It - Couldn't find this song anywhere. I have no idea about it. N/A
7. Signs of Love Makin' - Pisces, Aries, Scorpio...lol Great song. I don't think it got the attention it should have. I believe in the signs so this song is special for me. 4.5/5
8. What Am I Gonna Do? - This song couldn't be more perfect if it tried. It happens to be my favorite song of all by Tyrese, because of the arrangement, especially towards the one. 5+/5
9. Lately - One of his best slow grooves ever. Remember this?!!! 5/5
10. I'm Sorry - A slow, slow track that features smooth vocals. Still not his best, but probably one of the better tracks on 2000 Watts. Too bad Housekeeping wasn't a single. It's better than this song. 3.75/5

This CD was the beginning of the end of his luke-warm musical career. His first CD was pretty good but this one seems like a generic attempt at R&B. There's nothing original in the music or the lyrics. There are, however, a couple nice sounding ballads but nothing to waste your money on.

Ty really did himself some good on this album. Because his first was a dissapointment, but this one litterally knocks his old one right out the park. And its not even close. I mean the production is what really stands out on this album from the last. Because like i said in that review, his voice was never the problem and never will be. Because his voice is the perfect combination of strength and suave. And the writing is WAY better to. I mean everything you could imagine. From the timeless first single "I Like Them Girls" that gets the party started the minute the first note drops to the timeless song of sorrow "I'm Sorry" which i am sure will have many other men like myself almost brought to tears. Yes i said it brought to tears. And then there is the Babyface written and produced "There For Me (Baby)" which you will likely find yourself singing at work. "Fling" is that song that everyone will be grooving to and at the same time it has a good meaning, its a song of him simply saying lets make this more than a fling, lets make our love last. And then there is the super sexy raindrop coated "Housekeepin'". I mean this album has so many more strong points then his last, this is definetly not a sophmore slump. There is something for everyone on this album, and in my opinion its the R&B album of the year...easily. So trust me, buy this album its that good!!!

However on 2000 Watts there was one fast cut that I liked which was Just A Baby Boy featuring his Baby Boy co-stars Snoop Dogg & Mr.Tan. The ballad single released from the album What Am I Gonna Do was the jam my sophmore year of college and I still listen to it every now and again. Equally impressive is "There for Me (Baby)," a melodic ballad produced by Babyface.

This album was released shortly before Tyrese Gibson's starring film BABY BOY and the soundtrack album. The most famous of all on this album is JUST A BABY BOY with Snoop Dogg and Mr. Tan. Dogg co-starred with Gibson in BABY BOY. This album is not to be confused with the track from Michael Jackson's 2001 album INVINCIBLE. This album contains explicit lyrics which may be objectionable to some listeners.

"While you were gone" is my favorite track on this CD; she really rips it up! Kelly is a beast on this song! :)

Wow I am truly surprised at all these good ratings for this cd. But fa real though I just don't see it or hear it. This cd is simply garbage. This is an exact example of why people hate buying soundtracks. Throwaway tracks from well known artists. Featuring music from TQ, Kelly Price, Tyrese, Jay-Z, Ja Rule, Krayzie Bone, Hot Boyz, Da Brat and others. Two songs are good maybe three on a good day.

Take this garbage track Blue Diamonds by Raekwon. This beat is so annoying and unbearable, yuck. This is probably the worst beat Raekwon has ever rocked over and the hook is equally bad. Jay-Z's Girl Best Friend is a garbage track from him to make money and he succeeded. Keith Sweat featuring Da Brat is garbage. Kelly Price drops a sorry excuse for anything on While You Were Gone. TQ's song is mediocre. Rehab's Gimme My Money is also garbage as is the Ruff Ends song Please Don't forget Me which ironically is easily forgotten. Strings All Eyez On Me ( the song Martin Lawrence was dancing to outside the police station in the movie) is alright. Playa is just a wack artist to me. I have never heard a good song by him ( or is it them?).

Rock Ice performed by Hot Boyz is a tight song and has direct parallels with the content of the movie. Da Freak by Da Shorties and 69 Boyz is tight club song. Criminal Mind by Tyrese and Heavy D( song at the beginning ) is also nice. Na Na be Like by Foxy Brown is mediocre and so is So Plush's Shouldve Treated You Right.

To Conclude stay away from this and don't buy it. It disgraces the movie. Just listen to the little excerpts that are in the movie and you wont be disappointed. Don't Buy This it is low in quality songs and just isn't that good.

The cd is better than the movie, and I loved the movie! Plenty of funky sloppy tracks, as well as some party type tracks. This is a must have for any rap fan. You won't be disappointed!

This Cd spits out the greatest rap of all times it's a tight Cd with lots of up beat music. Buy it!

This is a incredible song! It has great lyrics and beat. If you don't have it your missing out on a lot! Its also a GREAT slow song to dance to. Also the music video is pretty cool, thats how I first heard it! Wait a go Tyrese!

Okay ladies. Tyrese is Fine with a capital F!! He has a nice body and excellent chest. And his voice adds to the list of the many fine things about him!!!!!!!
