March 26, 2008
The Icelandic star will return to Israel on July 31 to perform in Tel Aviv or Ramat Gan. Björk will perform a one time gig in the centre of Israel. It has been twelve years since the Icelandic singer last performed in Israel.
Björk’s representatives have reached an agreement with Shuki Weiss, an Israeli producer. The location for the concert is yet to be confirmed.
The Tel Aviv’s Hayarkon Park and the Ramat Gan Stadium are two potential candidates to host the Israeli leg of Björk’s world tour following the release of “Volta“, Björk’s latest album.
“Volta” is composed by a mixture of melodic sounds, accompanied by a larger band and a choir of Icelandic girls. This album has reached the top 10 best selling albums in the US. Björk said:
I feel “Volta” live is much better than the album, so “Volta” the album is almost like the rehearsal before the tour. The tour is where it all comes alive.
“Volta” world tour is being extremely successful and expected to last about 18 months. One euro of each ticket sold will be donated to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
Slash Said That Led Zeppelin Tour Support is Not Confirmed
March 25, 2008
Ex Guns n’ Roses, Slash said that his band Velvet Revolver may not support Led Zeppelin on a world tour, but hasn’t ruled out completely. Slash has told Radio One that the band are prioritizing their next album above anythimg else. He added:
There’s been a huge rumour going around about us opening for them and I think that was something that was taken out of context.
I think as far as Zeppelin doing a tour, that remains to be seen.
I saw Robert last night and he’s got his solo thing going on and as far as Velvet Revolver is concerned, we’ve got another record to do and we’re not even thinking about that.
Velvet Revolver have just completed their UK stretch of a European tour, on the 20th of March in their Glasgow concert, the singer Scott Weiland supposedly told fans, while on stage, they were “watching something special … the last tour by Velvet Revolver.”
Slash has commented on this, saying:
Well, lets put it this way - this is not Velvet Revolver’s last tour.

The Smashing Pumpkins Sue Virgin
March 25, 2008

The Smashing Pumpkins yesterday have started a lawsuit against their record label, Virgin, for using their name in promotional deals illegally.
The band stated during a breach-of-contract lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court that Virgin’s use of their name in “Pepsi Stuff” promotion with Amazon and Pepsi threatens their reputation for “artistic integrity”.
In an official declaration, the Smashing Pumpkins stated: “We have worked hard for over two decades to accumulate a considerable amount of goodwill in the eyes of the public”.
Virgin has been the Smashing Pumpkin’s record label for seventeen years. And, according to Smashing Pumpkins, only had the right to sell digital downloads of their songs.
The Smashing Pumpkins members said that they would “never grant authority to Virgin, or any other entity,” to use their name on promotional material for other purposes.
The lawsuit requires that Virgin pay out with the revenue generated by the promotion, and also asks for a sanction against using the Smashing Pumpkins’ name or music in the future.
